Until last night I thought there was no nice way to watch the Giants lose. I was wrong.
So I went to Mom’s to watch the Giants’ game. While I was there my niece came over to do some housecleaning and paint Mom’s toenails. Patti is my sister’s foster daughter. Patti graduated from high school last June and is now attending beautician school. Patti needs people to practice on.
For about ten years now I have been cutting my own hair. Even though I am bald on top the hair still grows around the sides and back, so ever month or so I use some electric clippers to trim it to stubble. I just mowed it the other day but I asked Patti if she could do it for me the next time I was due. She said sure. Then she offered to trim my fingernails.
To make a long story short, by the 6th inning I was sitting next to Mom on her couch watching the game while receiving the best manicure-pedicure I ever had. I know it was the best because it was the only manicure-pedicure I’ve ever had. She also scrubbed my feet and filed down the calluses on my heels. While the Giants were blowing a 3-run lead in the 9th inning I was receiving a foot rub and scrub.
Then she told me that my feet need a lot of work so she will have to do them on a regular basis. She is now my favorite niece.
Mom’s surgery is scheduled for noon. My sister is taking her up to UC Davis. When there is news I will let y’all know.
Mom left a list of stuff she wants done by the time she comes home.
Happy Hump Day!
