Clinton Campaign Asks Ex-Prosecutors to Criticize FBI Director James Comey

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign ratcheted up its attack on the director of the FBI on Sunday, circulating a draft letter critical of James Comey to former federal prosecutors.

The letter was sent on the same day that Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta called Comey’s letter to Congress “long on innuendo, short on facts.” Comey told Congress on Friday that emails discovered in a separate investigation into Anthony Weiner’s sexting may be “pertinent” to the closed investigation of Clinton’s private server.

“It is out of our respect for such settled tenets of the United States Department of Justice that we are moved to express our concern with the recent letter issued by FBI Director James Comey to eight Congressional Committees,” the Clinton campaign’s letter speaking for prosecutors said.

The letter was signed and provided to The Daily Beast by Elkan Abramowitz, a former chief of the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. The Clinton campaign released the letter on Sunday night, signed by nearly 100 former federal prosecutors including Eric Holder, who was the attorney general under President Obama and an assistant attorney general under President Clinton.

Hold on to your hats, campers, it’s gonna be a wild ride.

If a mom’s life is threatened in the third trimester, and through the modern miracles in neonatal care, a late term baby can be safely delivered now. Plenty of miracle babies have survived 22-24 weeks in some cases. If a baby is simply not wanted, fine, make that choice in the first trimester, or opt for adoption.

Funny meme going around today, “Hillary how does it feel to be aborted 8 days before delivery” 😉

Reporting is indicating that DOJ has been the “thing” behind the non-movement of Hillary emails, Clinton Foundation racketeering, and general thuggery. They thought that if it was slowed down enough it would get close to the election, then “rulz” which don’t seem to be written anywhere would prevent anything from being done by the FBI so close to an election then allowing Hillary to fire everyone when she became prezzy. The investigations were never closed. They were humming right along but ham strung by the DOJ (they couldn’t stop them without becoming part of a special prosecutor investigation) then the NYPD found Weiner’s laptop (it is probably Huma’s old castoff one), looked at the metadata, handed it over to US Attorney in Manhattan (not Brooklyn), who turned it over to the DC FBI, the McAuliffe bribe-ee asst FBI director conveniently forgot about it for like a couple of months (his wife lost her primary), then the rebellion in FBI HDQ and Comey’s wife telling him “I prefer you not go to prison when Trump is elected”. DC is turning on each other and it is a fabulous goat rodeo. Finger pointing and ratting out and butt covering. The purge will be spectacular. Bronco has lost control of the bureaucracy.

    • lateblum says:

It seems those “long-standing” rulz were enacted by only 4 years ago by Obama’s DOJ. I just read it again but don’t have the time to find the link (it’s also on Twitter).
Leaving soon for PT. Then I will be gone for the rest of the day. Gbaby #2 is sick and will need all my attention today. (unless she takes a nap and then I’m going to at least peek at TCH on my iPad. )

      • Anthony says:

Fuck him. Obama is violating the Hatch act by actively campaigning for a candidate while he’s on the job. (confidentially, I prefer him to be campaigning or golfing rather than actually doing his job, but if Harry wants to throw stones, lets do it…)

I partially watched MJoe this morning and they – esp Mika, Mike Barnicle and Chris Cillizza – looked like they wanted to crawl back under those rocks where they hide from daylight. It was the first time in months that I actually looked forward to watching MJoe and it didn’t disappoint.
Kellyanne Conway was on fire! She didn’t stop to take a breath and had an answer for every little snarky thing the MJoe panel threw at her. She is awesome.

    • cynic says:

OMG I watch today as well! Gbaby didn’t know that that black thing in the corner has pictures on it, and people talk! She was mesmerized, and I was feeling guilty that I was watching tv.

I finally was able to watch more than 5 minutes before turning it off in disgust. Thank you Mika (can’t believe that I just typed that!) for stating the obvious! This was all Hillary’s doing, and the Dem party nominated her even after they knew about her secret server!

Kellyanne is fantastic, and she deserves a big bonus. I watched the Sun. a.m. news shows, and she handles these hacks so easily!

      Happy Halloween everyone!

    • taw46 says:

I saw a good part of it this morning, starting at the beginning. I must say Mika surprised me. She said she was guilty as were many others of criticizing GOP for nominating Trump, but had to say now that DNC was guilty of nominating Hillary, who at the time was under FBI investigation. (I would say she thinks Trump will be nominated so she must get on his good side). She also pointed out the hypocrisy of those criticizing Comey, when they were heaping praise on him a week ago.

Joe for his part, did point out that Trump was pulling even with Hillary and ahead of her in swing states last week before all of this came out Friday. He also pointed out that there were times that Trump was ahead and there were those on his show who were saying it was over, despite the polls. As to this Comey investigation being unprecedented, he pointed out what Joe Walsh did to Bush 10/30/92. I had to look it up, didn’t remember it. Funny part, he didn’t mention this when they were all losing their shit on Friday.

Mika and Joe kept stressing there were 650,000 emails, not 3 as her supporters were saying over the week-end.

So yeah, I would say everyone is turning on everyone, and it is a glorious thing to watch.

It’s funny how the narcissist types are the ones to bring the whole dirty scheme down. They won’t stop themselves from creating drama and they need approval so bad they will cooperate with authorities for the short term approval it gives them. Everyone with normal psychology will conform to whatever the tribal lie is or keep quiet. But the narcissists as always are not committed to the tribe they are only committed to developing situations where they can look powerful.

I was devastated when Obama won, because of the way the media and the DNC treated us. And protected him. I knew it would be bad. But I HAD NO idea how bad. Things I would never have imagined have happened in the last 8 years. Tim is right, it is worse with Hillary, because it is all out in the open now, what they want.

      • jeffhas says:

I had this feeling with Romney… I knew McCain was going to lie – ANY Democrat was going to win behind Bush – hence the reason they propped up Obama.

I will be sick fr a few weeks if Hilary wins, but I will know FOR CERTAIN, that our side is gone. I’ll have to get with the program on illegal immigration, globalism, and all the PC stuff, or at least pretend and swallow. I’ gonna hate it, but I’ve been preparing for a loss for weeks now…. I’ll have an easy time expressing Joy if he wins…

I am not a real parent but for ten glorious/hellish years I have been in a constant state of annoyance with da brat. A sense of resolve unknown to me before her bloomed. Letting go of my entirely selfish decadent life was the singularly most empowering event. Not possible for me to know how a real parent feels. I think in some ways I have an advantage. Having kids is natural. Most natural thing there is. Hell God made it fun. I got to step in as an adult that did a lot more than sow wild oats. Kid was throwaway. She got a 40 year old f a g with a history. It’s not easy. Go from SIDs to every fear imaginable then to fear that your fear will impact her and stunt. So you worry about worrying. I do not want her to grow up in hillary’s world. It truly scares me.

        • Constance says:

No, the real Americans aren’t going away if Trump loses. The Trumpists are the Tea Party of 2008 plus some more people who woke up under Obamaisim. A few years of Hillaryism will wake up even more real Americans. It would be better for everyone if Trump wins but it’s not over if he doesn’t.

          • Somebody says:

I like your optimism Constance. I wish I shared it. I feel like if Hillary wins this nation as we’ve known it is over. It will be proof we’ve passed the tipping point. After 4 years of leftist rule with open borders and a massive influx of refugees we’ll be even more outnumbered. If Trump doesn’t win I’m done with politics and that’s saying a lot since I’ve spent most of my life active in politics. I’ve never missed a vote, ever, not even the most podunk primary.

This is gut check time America! Are we still that shining city on the hill or are we destined to become another 3rd world shithole?

          • taw46 says:

I agree with Somebody here. The number of “real” Americans is less and less every year. And it was all planned, this change in demographics, bringing in people who do not share our values, who do not know what liberty and free speech mean. Hell, we even stopped teaching that in our own schools. The number of refugees, illegals, etc will only increase. Just look at Europe, they are already giving up their culture, their freedoms in many areas. I do believe this is our last chance.

That have anything to do with Iceland elections? I know nothing about Iceland except the capital I cannot spell and Bjork so went to wiki. They used CE(common era) to date the settlement as opposed to AD. I had not seen CE in 30 years. Just thought it was peculiar.

Did not know that. I knew they tried that and metrics when I was a kid. Went over like a led zeppilin. Kid is not there yet. Not that I would know because they have no texts that come home. I looked at her grades online and she had a C in math. No way in hell after 10 years am I going to allow her to get behind or dislike math. Never got a B before. I would get a tutor. I asked her what was going on. She insisted she was doing well. She’s on a math team. She asked the teacher. Everyone gets a C because she has to put a grade in the computer. It’s absurd. Her education is my responsibility as well. I would rectify a problem. Sorry she does not get that much control. Pisses me off.

I had downloaded a several sample books on the roman empire and ended up buying a couple. I got one of those surveys asking my criteria for going with older books and the newer fresher views. I stated that the use of CE/BCE was off putting and the books where is was used seemed to be inferior in every way not to mention they refused to understand they were not writing about the present and kept trying to impose current cultural norms. They even use the exact same dividing line for the eras and then try and pretend it is something so special and has absolutely nothing to do with that JC guy. The response from the publisher was – interesting. Part bafflement that this would make a difference in how the work was perceived and part admiration that I knew the difference was a matter of just trying to be PC and that PCisms had given those books a very skewed view of the ancient world.

You can not throw anything away. They tell you who your documents specialist is and who you backup documents specialist is and who your backup, backup documents specialist is. Everything is stored properly or handed off to the documents specialist if there is the slightest question. They give this course to the littlest peon (me) they lay out the fines and consequences for not conforming. Everyone takes this course every year. There is no way team Hillary didn’t know how to handle government records or communication.
Private companies can make their own records regulations although they would want to keep enough records to file taxes etc.

I just read that stupid article. There are NO FACTS in it, none. It just makes general allegations. There are no specific cases or instances. What a load of BS.

      • taw46 says:

I read some of it, skimmed the rest. Mostly talked about a case from 1973-1975. They did not name ONE document (that I saw) that the government wanted and didn’t get, just threw around accusations that documents were destroyed. Sounded like a government fishing expedition to me. And the government and Trump’s father settled on the case. So, sorry, don’t care. One week before the election.

    • Somebody says:

Helen, I’ve been in and out of doctor offices all day with the grandkids and only had my phone to access the internet……in fact heading out again in 30 minutes, argh. So I haven’t been able to give a full reply to this. (Before I do, just want to say it’s a good news day all around for issues with middle grandbaby…..heard the word normal so many times, love that word!!!)

Specific to the article you posted, well over half the article relates back to the early 1970’s and Fred Trump’s company. While true, Donald worked for his father, I think we can all agree he never ran his father’s company. He struck out on his own and eventually his brother ran the father’s company. So I think it’s unfair to hold him accountable for his father’s actions regardless of whether the accusations are true or not.

Moving on to the lawsuits mentioned in more recent times. The shortest time frame mentioned is two years, technically it’s almost 3 years. There are rules in business for how long you have to keep documentation, but not for how long you have to keep emails. My daughter works for a fortune 50 company and I can tell you they routinely delete emails and destroy other internal communication. Why? Because we live in a litigious society. They keep record and documents required by law.

Out of all of the allegations listed in that article the ONLY one that might hold water would be the 2009 real estate deal. The Plaintiffs filed in 2011, seeking insurance documentation for loss coverage. I don’t know the specific laws with regard to real estate here in Florida, but a lot of documentation for business needs to be kept for 3 years, some stuff for one. I’m not familiar specifically with real estate laws in Florida to know if he was in the wrong for not having that documentation in what appears to be under a 3 year time frame. I have a hunch if he violated a specific law that law would have been quoted in the article, so my gut tells me he wasn’t required.

I’m a life long Florida resident and trust me the building industry controls a lot of the levers of power in this state. The laws and the courts in this state heavily favor those in the building industry. I should know, I’ve personally tangled with a builder in this state.

I realize you have a white hot personal hatred of Donald Trump and that’s your right as an American to hold that opinion. However, I honestly do not think that there is any comparison between these allegations and what Clinton has done. None of what Trump is accused of doing involved national security or put any lives in danger.

I could say a lot more, but it’s futile so I’ll save both of us the time and effort.
