Blah, Blah, Blah . . .

Apparently some people are not taking this well. Here’s Obamafluffer David Remnick:

The election of Donald Trump to the Presidency is nothing less than a tragedy for the American republic, a tragedy for the Constitution, and a triumph for the forces, at home and abroad, of nativism, authoritarianism, misogyny, and racism. Trump’s shocking victory, his ascension to the Presidency, is a sickening event in the history of the United States and liberal democracy. On January 20, 2017, we will bid farewell to the first African-American President—a man of integrity, dignity, and generous spirit—and witness the inauguration of a con who did little to spurn endorsement by forces of xenophobia and white supremacy. It is impossible to react to this moment with anything less than revulsion and profound anxiety.

There are, inevitably, miseries to come: an increasingly reactionary Supreme Court; an emboldened right-wing Congress; a President whose disdain for women and minorities, civil liberties and scientific fact, to say nothing of simple decency, has been repeatedly demonstrated. Trump is vulgarity unbounded, a knowledge-free national leader who will not only set markets tumbling but will strike fear into the hearts of the vulnerable, the weak, and, above all, the many varieties of Other whom he has so deeply insulted. The African-American Other. The Hispanic Other. The female Other. The Jewish and Muslim Other. The most hopeful way to look at this grievous event—and it’s a stretch—is that this election and the years to follow will be a test of the strength, or the fragility, of American institutions. It will be a test of our seriousness and resolve.

Shit happens. This is an open thread.

All the peeps crying in their chardonnay or marching in the streets can simply do what I did 8 years ago…suck it up and deal with it. I hated, hated, HATED that Obama won – both times. I’m still standing, I didn’t block highway traffic, set anything on fire, start shooting, looting, or yelling in anyone’s face…suck it up and deal, snowflakes.

They need to find a blog family like we did. Some of us We’ve been together since becoming pumas 8+ years ago , though we started at other sites 🙂 we’ve been waiting a long time here together watching obama treat our constitution like shit and strengthening the executive branch while having the worst foreign policy. We’ve been on this crazy journey where sometimes we get to win too.

      • helenk3 says:

this is home away from home. a place to go when you need people around you that understand your thinking. We do not always agree, just as in every family, but we respect each other and are willing to listen to each other. That is a great thing in this day and age.
I am glad this place exists and thank MYIQ for founding it and keeping it going.

    • I was willing to give Obama the chance to prove me wrong. I accepted that he would be our president for at least 4 years. I hoped he would be successful because if he failed then it would hurt the country.

I was wrong about Obama. He was worse then I ever imagined.

      • lateblum says:

Where were you wrong? I didn’t read anything that was wrong with obama. I read you had agreed (with yourself) to give him a chance to prove you wrong. You just weren’t right enough.

      • helenk3 says:

until backtrack I do not remember a president dissing American citizens. Hillary continued the trend. And they wonder why they lost.

    Paul Krugman: The Economic Fallout

It really does now look like President Donald J. Trump, and markets are plunging. When might we expect them to recover?

Frankly, I find it hard to care much, even though this is my specialty. The disaster for America and the world has so many aspects that the economic ramifications are way down my list of things to fear.

Still, I guess people want an answer: If the question is when markets will recover, a first-pass answer is never.

Under any circumstances, putting an irresponsible, ignorant man who takes his advice from all the wrong people in charge of the nation with the world’s most important economy would be very bad news. What makes it especially bad right now, however, is the fundamentally fragile state much of the world is still in, eight years after the great financial crisis.

“we will bid farewell to the first African-American President—a man of integrity, dignity, and generous spirit”

He is describing Morgan Freeman character, right?

Because Obama is a petty man who is likely as corrupt (if not more) then his wanted-to-be replacement: Wall Street Bailouts, AIG Bailout, GM Bailout, F&F, IRS, Shovel Ready jobs, Guber’ing, Benghazi, Solyndra et al, Obamacare for his Insurance Cronies, Iran-Cash, all the DOJ settlements where the settlement is ‘pay my pals company, etc’

    Then this!!! :

“Trump is vulgarity unbounded, a knowledge-free national leader who will not only set markets tumbling”

Except the stock market closed higher….

The media are f’ing liars…. Just check the polls the day of the election. They lie. They have no credibility. You can believe nothing they say. Including this snot-rant.

We fought our hearts out to avert this reality. But now it’s here.

The new president-elect and many of his most prominent supporters have targeted, demeaned, and threatened millions of us—and millions of our friends, family, and loved ones. Both chambers of Congress remain in Republican hands. We are entering an era of profound and unprecedented challenge, a time of danger for our communities and our country.

In this moment, we have to take care of ourselves, our families, and our friends—especially those of us who are on the front lines facing hate, including Latinos, women, immigrants, refugees, Black people, Muslims, LGBT Americans, and so many others.

And we need to make it clear that we will continue to stand together.

People around the country are coming together tonight to hold peaceful gatherings to signal our solidarity, resistance, and resolve. These are simple, straightforward, grassroots events from coast to coast.

Will someone stop these spoiled brats who are doing the bidding of Soros because #Caring. they don’t give a crap and Let me just tell them that I hated having Obama as “my” president waaay more than they could ever dislike Trump. And I had REAL reasons – not propaganda made up by opponents. Did I break windows or stop traffic or march in the streets or cause harm or damage? NO.I.Did.Not. Because I am grown up. I was grown up at 16. And if I were as angry as these little snowflakes, if I had “acted out”, I’d have been grounded for life by my parents who weren’t afraid to be actual parents. And who taught the difference between right and wrong and want and need and good and bad. And they expected me to follow the rules, not make them up as I went along because I “felt like it”.
I am exhausted by these punks AND their parents AND their teachers AND the pampering AND lack of respect AND narcissism AND sense of entitlement. I want them all to Go Home – wherever that is.

I heard an interesting point earlier this evening… While everyone was lamenting that the glass ceiling had still not been broken, Trump made history by being the first real “Citizen President”. (I didn’t hear if it was ever or just in recent history.) But it was an interesting thought. Also that the “Citizen President” is what the Founding Fathers had designed our government for.
I wish I could have heard the broadcast, but I got a call for help from dd#2. So I was out for about 2 hours. Got back recently. when I turned to BTR, it said the broadcast had ended and they were “readying” the broadcast for archives and could I return a little later. 😦

    • Constance says:

I also heard today that the arena that Hillary rented for her party last night was one of the first projects that Trump built. I think it was on FOX business.

    Who said this today?

What you mean to say is that you were in a bubble and weren’t paying attention to your fellow Americans and their despair. YEARS of being neglected by both parties, the anger and the need for revenge against the system only grew. Along came a TV star they liked whose plan was to destroy both parties and tell them all “You’re fired!” Trump’s victory is no surprise. He was never a joke. Treating him as one only strengthened him

By the way, I was able to listen to the whole Crawdad Crew show at work. Still can’t get to the chat room. Thanks for the tip on Ghostery. I was able to listen live to the program. I used ear plugs so no one heard. I am usually the only one about the office space i the evening but some of the sad faces from the other agencies came in late to get ready for a meeting in the morning.

From Hilda missing yet another 3:00 call and then dressing for a zombie apocalypse, to the discussion Pope One versus Pope Two and why and wherefores, to learning that Marijuana plants can be rather large so six is not that small a crop, it was a hoot.

    • Constance says:

Don’t let your pot plants get too big, it’s not productive. Pinch them to keep all branches the same height so more of the plant can be right next to the light. A four month cycle is long enough, Take clones from mother plants that are not under any forced schedule for blooming and put plants into blooming fertilizer and light sequence by 8 weeks because their hormone make up changes by the end of nine weeks and they don’t form as many buds if you wait too long. I got in on the initial licensing round when Washington legalized recreational pot. They are beautiful plants but they sure stink.

      • CiscoKid says:

        Stink? That’s for sure.
Back in the late 80’s I grew a few “undocumented” plants.
When I opened the door to my smallish apartment, there definitely was a noticeable odor.
I tried air freshener’s but eventually I was better off procuring from my “undocumented” pharmacist.
I’m sure outdoor gardens must be much better.
