I don’t care if he doesn’t actually take office for 44 more days. Donald Trump is already MY president.

Manufacturing in China is not all it is cracked up to be. If the regs and taxes are manageable in the US manufacturers will abandon that shithole fast.

        The pollution is terrible.

        • Lulu says:

So is dealing with their “management”. My husband has an schoolmate that worked over there trying to deal with the factories as an engineer a few years before he retired. He really didn’t like it there, the quality of products or their, er, honesty. I think a lot of companies are ready to get out of there for many very good reasons.

Especially since china loves to steal pattons once our tech companies go there and china can just get away with that theft.

Will MI recount stop? Still back and forth between State and Federal court.

I heard they were between a rock and hard place because they too had the HIllBill version done up way ahead of time and would have to pretend they had not already made up their minds when those flyover people upset their assumptions.

That little dig with Divided States of America would fall under stuff that pi$$es me off thread. Those who did not vote for Barry had to accept it, just like people have done for numerous elections over the centuries. Think everyone was happy with John Addams or Andrew Jackson or IKE or just about anyone else before, after, or in between? But now, those that were so sure HER had it in the bag just refuse to admit their false idol lost and have to whine and blame others for their inability to act like grownups. It would have been even more divided had she won – but like with Barry – she would have been hailed as a unifier.

Last gloating Victory Dance I did was Carter in ’76, sorry about that. 😉 Hope I’m not cursing the new Prezzy 4 decades later. 😉

      • Mt.Laurel says:

I was in high school so all we had were mock elections. All through school I always got stuck playing Nixon (yes playing Nixon in recreating 1960 mock debates in a Catholic school was load of fun). But by the time we got to Carter and I had to do was sit on the sidelines with Checkers by my side and, a champagne glass and a sign that read “I am not a crook”.

But I would have to say this quote of his might be more appropriate today:

Finishing second in the Olympics gets you silver. Finishing second in politics gets you oblivion.

  11. The accompanying Time article can be characterized.by begrudging respecting. We’re moving into the acceptance stage.

  12. Remember the good old days before VCR’s, DVD’s and DVR’s? Back when we only had 3 networks and (if you were lucky) a few independent stations to watch on television?

We were at their mercy if we wanted to watch any shows or specials. You watched it when it was on, or you didn’t watch it at all. If you left the room you couldn’t pause or rewind. If you had other activities (work, school, church, family and/or social) or some unfortunate event that kept you from being at home, you missed whatever was on. Better luck next time (if there ever is a next time).

If two of your favorite shows came on at the same time, tough shit. If your dad wanted to watch a different channel, you watched that channel with him. And the best shows all came on after your bedtime.

Kids today can watch anything they want any time they want anywhere they want right on their phones.

And the little bastards are perpetually bored and unhappy.

People should demand solid reasons for infringing on their Rights.

Why are you infringing on my Liberty to drive as fast I think is safe?
Why does one need permission to put a container on his Property in the middle of nowhere?
Why does one need permission to have Arms to defend himself and others? (I live in a nice neighborhood, but two German shepherds escaped and nearly killed my elderly neighbor, who was defenseless against them.)

I saw a chart the other day pointing to Hillary’s “popular” vote lead. All came from NYC, L.A. and Chicago, what are the chances most of those were illegally cast votes?

      • John Denney says:

And do we really want city folk telling country folk how to run their business?
California just passed a cow flatulence bill in response to AGW, requiring farmers to have a million dollar machine to process their cows’ methane. Only farms with more than 500 milk cows could afford one of these things, which means CA just put a bunch of small dairy farmers out of business, but Big Ag will limp along and probably charge more for milk now.

“Stein’s campaign announced Wednesday night it plans to appeal the ruling to the Michigan State Supreme Court.

The Stein campaign said it will move to disqualify two Michigan Supreme Court justices from hearing cases related to the recount — Chief Justice Robert Young Jr. and Justice Joan Laren — citing that they have been mentioned by President-elect Donald Trump as potential nominees to the U.S. Supreme Court.”
