  1. Every time I take the time to write a topical post something immediately happens that makes my post obsolete.

  2. votermom says:

I was just making an open thread…

I’ll leave it in draft and you can publish it later if we get bored.

  3. Somebody bet big on the wrong pony:

Billionaire investor George Soros lost nearly $1 billion after the stock market rallied following Donald Trump’s surprise Election Day victory, The Wall Street Journalreported Thursday.
Sources familiar with the hedge fund manager’s trading said he remained cautious going into the November election and then made the mistake of becoming more bearish immediately after Mr. Trump’s win.
The stock market rallied on expectations that Mr. Trump’s policies would boost the economy, causing Mr. Soros’ trading positions to incur losses approaching $1 billion, sources told The Journal.
“Mr. Soros adjusted his positions and exited many of his bearish bets late last year, avoiding further losses,” The Journal reported.
Meanwhile, Stanley Druckenmiller, Mr. Soros’ former deputy, anticipated the rally and exited bearish positions on the night of the election, gaining a sizable profit, sources told The Journal.

I like to get in a poker game with them.

Gawd, Elizabeth Warren is annoying. Can’t believe she asked this question…….after supporting Hillary for PRESIDENT ! How many Obama bucks supported his (and Michelle’s) pals and their companies too? The hypocrisy is mindboggling.

    • AFVet says:

Generally the democratic side in these hearings only re-affirm the fact that they are incapable of thinking beyond a certain limit.
It’s Trump, climate change, Russia, ACA, false reports of thirty years ago that were proven to be wrong, rambling efforts that make it clear to me that one of their brain cells is desperately searching for the other one.

Next democrat up, same damn questions.

BTW,…Al Franken better never get anywhere near me.
There is nothing worse than an obnoxious moron.
The people of Minnesota should be ashamed.

  5. helenk3 says:

In watching the different congressional hearings, I watched democrats and some rinos make complete fools of themselves..Some of questions asked by women made me cringe. this is not the place for the old chestnuts on abortion, sexual preference and other things. We have very serious problems in this country and in the world why not ask about them and look a little bit intelligent

    • AFVet says:

I seriously think that they are not capable of asking anything other than what they live and breath. They have a very narrow field of view, incapable of any open minded conversation.

what is this, payback because he prosecuted the kkk and won, and the kkk are democrats?

I hope it’s true. The lyrics are perfect as they are. Dh had them sung at his retirement ceremony. As in, you must go to DC to kiss political ass for a few years to make General, he declined those orders and retired at 30 years at age 50. When I went back to work so he could do carpools 😀 #Winning.

Oh dear….in defense of the dog, never put your “stranger” face in theirs without a proper warmup. This is not an aggressive breed, but you’d think they’d be used to the commotion around the WH by now too.

    • DandyTIger says:

Usually dogs reflect their owners, so no surprise there. 🙂

    • taw46 says:

Sunny just found out they will have to leave their WH handlers and go live full time with the Obamas. I would probably feel like biting, too.

    • lyn says:

Maybe the dog doesn’t like white people.

    • swanspirit says:

AYFKM????? A dog bite to the face? Dead dog AFAIAC. No way in hell I would keep a dog that bit someone in the face. Especially a young person. YMMV, but no. She is lucky half her cheek wasn’t ripped . I would never trust that dog again. And I love dogs. But not a dog that bites, and especially a dog that bit someone in the face.
And yes, dogs reflect their owners , in most cases.

      • blowme0bama says:

Not saying this is what happened, but there is this behavior called sudden aggression syndrome where for no humanly perceptible reason, a dog just goes apeshit and starts biting someone. I had a dog I loved dearly that did this when he got to be about four years of age. He chomped down on my hand or forearm probably 3 or 4 times before I finally had to have him killed. You try to figure out what you did that caused the dog to do it. The dog does it again and you try to figure out what the similarities in the situation are, but there are none. It wasn’t until I learned about sudden aggression syndrome that I realized it wasn’t me, the dog just had something fucked up in his head.

      • DeniseVB says:

She could of lost her eye. Years ago, a neighbor, a policeman, yoiks, popped by with his toddler son. Our aging and arthritic springer spaniel was asleep on the couch, out of control toddler jumped on her and she took a chunk of his cheek. OMG, I was mortified. Kid was okay, just spooked dog teeth marks, no stitches needed, policeman’s family apologized to ME. But I’m still not over that.

        • A dog that has been socialized to be around people (i.e. a housepet) should not ever bite except in extreme circumstances. I’m guessing that the O-dogs spent a lot of time in kennels and never had a chance to bond with their alleged owners.

          • DeniseVB says:

The Obama dogs have been props all along, so I agree. Back in the day, HSUS and PETA supported Obama, yuuuuge endorsement for pet lovers, because O said he will adopt a rescue dog for his kids. Along comes Uncle Teddy, who simply rehomed a designer dog returned to his designer breeder pal, as a “gift” to the Obamas. HSUS and PETA were silent.

          • taw46 says:

There is an article in the Daily Mail which has Obama mentioning her crate, so I would imagine the dogs did spend some time in kennels. Also, did you ever see any photos with the girls or their parents just outside playing with the dogs, loving on them? Any photos of the family watching TV at night with the dogs snuggled up next to them? Me neither. Props. Staged photos.

I almost had a beloved yellow lab put down for growling really nasty at my son, when Shawn was about 11 or 12. But Shawn asked me to wait and worked with him. My son Shawn the animal whisperer, worked with him, and he never growled at him , or any family member again. The issue was, around the food bowl Shawn went to move the food bowl when Lancelot was eating out of it, and Lance growled. He had to be trained out of that.
But as a nurse, I have seen the results of dog bites on children, and even after plastic surgery, it isn’t nice at all.

  23. jenlyntx says:

Poland is a friend to US and has one concern–NATIONAL SECURITY. They DETEST Muslims and will not allow them into country (young people especially because they grew up suffering political and religious insult and will not tolerate it). They are cautious about Trump with BIG issue being RUSSIA. We need to show them we are also friend and tell Russia to stay the hell out of Poland.
