OMG! The Philly Inquirer stepped in it with both feet! As they soon found out.

The only are of disagreement among the triggered special snowflakes was whether the tweet was sexist, racist, or both. The Inquirer deleted the tweet and apologized.

Can you imagine the reaction if the media had run a headline eight years ago referring to Michelle Obama as a “sexy first lady”? Oh, wait. They did.

Sexy New Portrait of First Lady Michelle Obama

But the SS brigades were not satisfied.

The Philly Inquirer committed the unspeakable sin of blasphemy, but not for referring to FLOTUS as “sexy”. The Philly Inquirer committed the unspeakable sin of blasphemy for referring to Melania Trump as sexy.

Someone was saying that some Trump supporters worship him and I thought it would be fun to correlate Trump & co to a mythological pantheon of deities.

    Trump – Zeus
    Melania – Aphrodite
    Ivanka – Athena
    Mattis – Ares

    • Anthony says:

      T-Rex – Hermes

      • votermom says:

        Is T-Rex Tillerson? Why Hermes?

        • Anthony says:

Yes, its Tillerson. Hermes was the patron of lawyers and those who had to speak in official capacity to heads of state in the ancient world. He is the god of communication, swift thinking and had the ability to see both sides of a debate and bring resolution by finding common ground. One of his envocations used by priests/priestesses of his temple reads:

          Tradition: Hellenic
          Origin: Greece, 2nd Century BC

“Hear me, Hermes, messenger of Zeus, son of Maia
You, whose all powerful heart is the master of mortals
You, the almighty leader of the contest of life
You, the slayer of Argus, the conductor of Argeiophontes
You, who are of subtle and varying counsel
You, the fleet-sandaled prophet with a love for mortal men of words

Exercise your clever, crafty wisdom while you
interpret and explain to them with your cunning shrewdness what they have done to find disfavor and what shall occur if they continue”

That was a translation from a document in the Metropolitan Museum of Art Reference Library that I found in the 90’s while writing an outline for a course in ancient mysticism

      • Lulu says:

I talked to someone (a friend’s cousin’s husband visiting this weekend-LOL) this weekend who was a hired as a young engineer the same time Tillerson was at Exxon back in the 70’s. He knows him quite well. Anyway he said he was very laid back, not a formal guy, and always took the hardest, dirtiest assignments doing a lot of field work early in his career. Very, very smart and disciplined and went up the greasy pole fast from very hard work and keeping his nose clean. Not a yes man but not a troublemaker either.
And yes to Hermes the god of commerce and business.

I worked at the Philadelphia Inquirer in the late 60s and early 70s
It is a good paper. I could tell you some funny stories. It was as crazy as the railroad. I am not sure I ever had a normal job.

  5. Even if you actually believe (without any merit whatsoever) that America is going to hell in a hand basket with shoot’em ups in every city, sexual predators behind every tree and libtards and feminazis scheming to gay marry everyone on the way to the abortion mills, this report on Trump’s terrible horrible no good very bad inauguration has to make you concerned.
Of course, if everything not glowingly positive about Trump is fake, then never mind.
Still, the guy seems very obsessed with his Nielsen ratings…

    • DandyTIger says:

Will be interesting to see the reaction if Trump goes after big pharma and brings manufacturing and R&D back to the US. I assume it will have happened because Obama already set things in motion. Or something.

Trump’s going to wear out the media, they can’t keep up with his jam-packed schedule! Obama made them spoiled and lazy, lol !

      • Anthony says:

I know lmao. Its really hard to get used to – can’t wait to see what Congress does once they realize they can’t piss away time and tax dollars laying around like a bunch of Progressives, doing nothing for months at a time. I’m sure there will be resistance, but I’m equally sure they’ll get the clue once word comes down from the top to cut the shit and get to work.

Also, how much do you LOVE saying “Former President Obama”? I get all Chris Matthews tingly every time I blurt it out, sometimes even to an empty room lol

  13. On Saturday an old man approached the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue, where he’d been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the U.S. Marine standing guard and said, “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.” The Marine looked at the man and said, “Sir, Mr. Obama is no longer president.” The old man said “Okay” and walked away.

On Sunday, the same man approached the White House and said to the same Marine “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.” The Marine again told the man “Sir, as I said yesterday, Mr. Obama is no longer president.” The man thanked him and, again, just walked away.

This morning, the same man approached the White House and spoke to the very same U. S. Marine, saying “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.” The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looked at the man and said, “Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mr. Obama. I’ve told you already that Mr. Obama is no longer president. Don’t you understand?”

The old man looked at the Marine and said, “Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it.”

The Marine snapped to attention, saluted and said, “See you tomorrow, sir.”

It is what could be called a miserable day here, in my little spot on the shore. It’s just cold enough to get chilled, it’s raining, and its windy. I woke up too early, stayed awake too long, and fell back asleep and slept too long.
But I woke up with a smile this morning, and my first thoughts were; I wonder what President Trump did today, to piss off the left!?!
    What a good day!

‘sez 28% of federal employees will quit after President Trump assumes office.
Who cares, and will anybody notice?
Become unemployed just because you don’t like the guy?
I’ve worked fo a lot of people I didn’t like, but I had bills to pay, and I liked eating every day ,

    • Constance says:

I work for the Feds right now. I know two people who don’t work at all. Everyone knows it, one guy has perfected sleeping while sitting up. I mean he does a deep sleep like you can’t wake him up at all. That kind of people never will quit. And the Feds have no way to get rid of him.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

I seriously doubt many are going to quit a job that that ensures step raises in pay every year (for many every six months) even if the budget does not provide the COL increase, pension plan, flex time and work at home options , day care at many sites, top of the line health benefits, etc. After all, most of the private sector jobs they may have been able to get just went poof and those people are looking for work along with all the D appointees for BO/MO/VJ and Hildegard.

Now this unfortunate because that 28% whining are most likely the ones the rest of the staff would love to see leave as they are useless leaches who make everyone else miserable but are entrenched n the system and impossible to boot.

    Something I didn’t know.
During the wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery Thursday afternoon, the now First Lady Melania Trump donned a military-inspired coat designed by the daughter of a veteran who was left with life-long disabilities during his service.

Norisol Ferrari, who is also a naturalized U.S. citizen, said it was made quite clear early on that Mrs. Trump wanted a “commanding, military-esque coat” for the ceremony, which happened to be Ferrari’s strength in design.

“I am absolutely opposed to discrimination in any way,” Ferrari said of other designers’ refusal to work with the First Family. “I wanted to give her her own voice. Empowering women is all that matters to me. I do not discriminate whether for race, religion, color of skin, sexuality, political affiliation – what have you. No, I do not believe in it in any form.”

Ferrari described Mrs. Trump as quiet and kind, graceful, striking, and poised. She feels the First Lady is a woman who is being misunderstood and wrongly scrutinized. Ferrari also said she felt “fortunate” to have the opportunity to design the coat, adding that Mrs. Trump “made it very easy.”

Ferrari, who hoped she wouldn’t be “caught in the crosshairs” of the controversy surrounding the Trump family, said her first thought the morning of the ceremony was, “God, I hope we can be a less angry nation.”

“My biological family paid a very heavy price for this nation and that’s why I did this,” Ferrari, who was given up for adoption by both of her biological parents, concluded.

There are many upsets in the field of battle, but imho, our war for Independence is right up there.
A bunch of farmers, clergyman, just plain folk, and yes, slave owners, picked up their muskets, put powder, ball and parched corn in their possibles bag and stood face to face with the most professional and combat experienced army of that time.
        And we won.
        That’s why I just adorned Kellyanne’s outfit.
I’ve missed so many events in my life, but , in spirit, we were all together that day.

It made me giggle to see men in those pussy hats thinking if we go to another civil war, they won’t have a chance in the red states 🙂

I love everything military after a lifetime of being the spawn of Marines, then marrying one before my dependent’s i.d. expired. When I met my husband he was the honor guard commander of the NATO headquarters in Norfolk. He did all those pomp ceremonies for world leaders when they visited, which looked much like Trump’s pass in review honor. He also had a silent drill team. Swoon. Dh is very much a Civil War buff and all things militaria, even back to the Roman Empire. It’s actually a passion and wished he chose being a high school history teacher rather than start a construction business after he retired. Nah, he didn’t want to brain too hard after 30 years 😉
