Cry Havoc!

And let slip the dogs of war.

Jason Easley at Politics USA:

Fearing Protester Outrage, Harley Davidson Dumps President Trump

A presidential visit to a Harley Davidson factory in Milwaukee, Wisconsin has been canceled because the company was worried about the fallout from protesters for hosting the toxic Trump.

CNN reported, “President Donald Trump will not head to Milwaukee for a previously scheduled visit of a Harley Davidson factory after the company decided it wasn’t comfortable hosting him amid planned protests, an administration official said Tuesday…It was the threat of protests, and not Trump’s planned signing of executive orders, that made Harley Davidson uncomfortable, the official said.”

The protests are having an impact. May companies who were worried about being the focus of a negative Trump tweet are now concerned about being protested against if they have anything to do with the unpopular president.

From the thousands of people who have deleted their Uber apps to the protests that were being organized against the Trump Harley Davidson visit, companies are becoming aware of the damage to their brand that will come with associating with President Trump.

Trump was toxic before the Muslim ban, but now he is radioactive.

The President has taken unilateral actions that have isolated him from the mainstream of the country. America is pushing back, and those companies that choose to associate their brands with this president are at risk of suffering a deadly blow to their bottom lines.

This is what fascism looks like.

Uber’s crime? They didn’t join a strike organized by NYC taxi drivers to protest Trump’s so-called “Muslim ban”.

Hmmm, I recognized Politics USA as a vile prog leaning site, it may be fake news (and yes, it’s on the CNN link they sourced too). Found this tidbit on a local Milwaukee Fox affiliate:

Harley-Davidson issued a statement Tuesday night saying they “don’t have, nor did we have, a scheduled visit from the President this week at any of our facilities.”

  3. AFVet says:

Jeff Sessions made it to the senate on a party line committee vote.
Pruitt, Price, and Mnuchin committees are being boycotted by the dems.
    The committees stand in recess.

    • AFVet says:

Orrin Hatch said that this stunt is unprecedented, blames Schumer.

    • kanaughty says:

Obamacare was passed on a political stunt, reconcilliation. A bill that had nothing to do with healthcare got changed to be about healthcare in the wrong house and didn’t go back to the original house of the bill to get voted on again, or something like that. It really was an illegally written bill to begin with.

      • DeniseVB says:

If only our GOP reps threw half the tizzy fit that Schumelosi are pitching at every move Trump makes, they could have stopped it. Of course, they didn’t want to look “racist” or something.

Could explain some of the oddball behavior of some of these Dem Senators. Trying to hold their base in their home states ?

I know some on the left (looking at you Michael Moore) are threatening Dems who don’t resist Trump’s every move or action with a primary challenger of REAL progressives. Yeah, that sounds like a winning strategy. 😛

    • kanaughty says:

I really want ingraham to beat kaine and would love to see scott brown run for something again, maybe go up against warren. I still love scott brown 🙂

      • elliesmom says:

i was hoping Trump would offer Scott Brown a job in his administration. Who knows, there’s still time and positions open. Curt Schilling, former Red Sox player is considering a run against Warren. He’s a complete idiot, but it would be fun to see Warren knocked out of the “Kennedy seat” by a jock.

        • DeniseVB says:

You do know Mike Ditka apologized to Chicago (and the country!) for not running against Obama in 2004 for Senate. Mike was a sports legend and God, he would have beat BO and we would have dodged that Obama era bullet. Sigh, woulda, coulda, shoulda.

So I’m on board for Schilling. He couldn’t be worse than Warren. I was a yuge fan of Scott Brown here in Virginia, I sent him a contribution and he sent me an autographed copy of his book 🙂

          • elliesmom says:

Curt Schilling screwed RI over a business loan they gave him so he’s on the fecal roster in my adopted state, but Rho D’Islanders can’t vote in MA. When Martha Coakley was running against Scott Brown, Giuliani came to Boston to support Brown. She was being interviewed on the radio, and she dismissed Rudy as a “Yankees fan”. The radio host pointed out Curt Schilling supported Brown, too. Now poor Martha was unfamiliar with Schilling’s role in helping the Red Sox win the World Series against the Yankees, a fatal flaw here in Red Sox Nation, and she said, “Just another Yankees fan.” A lot of “Red Sox Nation” can vote in MA. Warren had better brush up on her Red Sox trivia.

    • kanaughty says:

Do you all think manchin will go ahead and switch to repub to win?

  7. AFVet says:

How long can the dems hold up a committee ?
Isn’t there a point to where the candidate is either dismissed or goes to the senate ?
    Just asking.

    • Lulu says:

Well McConnell suspended rules for quorum on the committees which was where they were hanging up with the moron lazy butts not showing up. They were running out of safe Democratic seat senators (like Feinstein) willing to do one week holds on nominees. So their hysteria seems to be running out of Dem senators willing to stick their necks out TOO far. I think the nominations can hang until a new Congressional session is sworn in so for this one that would be Jan 2019. That is what Merrick Garland’s nomination ran into. The Dems are simply screwed and can’t face it.

  8. CiscoKid says:

Oh, oh, doesn’t sound good for Chicago Dem’s.
Just caught a bit of Fox 32 that showed President Trump meeting with members of Chicago’s black community who claim they have spoken to some leaders of Chicagos street gangs.
These people claim that those leaders are behind Trump and his promise to end the violence and were disappointed in Obamas failure to solve crisis.
Now remember, they claim, is it true? Time will tell.

    • Constance says:

Well they claimed it in public and on TV so that sounds pretty solid to me. They know they will be held to it.

    • DeniseVB says:

Noticeably absent in that meeting, Deray, Shaun King, Al Sharpton…..void of any BLM leaders. Just kids from the ‘hood.

Can’t wait for Top Cop Sessions to take control.

      • jenlyntx says:

No surprise there Denise. The Black Pimps LOVE and MAKE MONEY and have NO DESIRE IN STOPPING THE BLACK DEATHS because that is how they make money. It is a big old shake down. Al calls Target and says not enough black people work at Target so if you pay me $5million I won’t say Target is racist. Black people have slid into hell under the black pimps but they are too stupid to accept this as a fact. The ONLY way to make it in America unless you are lucky and win the lottery are are born rich is to stay in school, get a job, and work hard. You will NOT hear this being preached or told to black children and haven’t in the last 50 years. Go to any black separatist church, like Rev. Wright’s for example, and you will hear that it is White Oppression keeping black people down. Right. All of these so called “black leaders” shake down the families for money to so called represent them when their alleged rights have been violated. What is hysterical is that the leaders take a big old percentage of whatever monies they shake down giving the so-called victims pennies. Al Sharpton, Barack Hussein Obama, Louis F., none of these men have agendas that involve helping black people they are the most self interested liars in the world. Sad thing is that the black community can’t seem to open its eyes and see what is clear as hell.

  9. Lulu says:

The confederate “states rights” secession movement in California and some of the coastal progressive cities is especially hilarious to those of us who had US Civil War history in college. Again Democrats are threatening civil insurrection if they don’t get their way. I would suggest a blockade of their ports. The funny thing is that Mexico supported the “confederates” then too. The same arguments, the same issues (they want to keep Hispanic “slaves” this time), and they act like asses in Congress.

    • votermom says:

If California seceded the cartels would be running it in less than a week.

      • Lulu says:

I think they are running it now through their crazy state legislature. Maybe Chicago too. The cartels make huge contributions to pols through “straw” donors.

    • Lulu says:

The whole blowback and diversion talk is the same. The core issue is cheap, abundant labor for rich people.

    • kanaughty says:

This is so true that they must not have taken american civil war history. The more i learned about it, the more i thought if any other president had been elected besides tough lincoln, we would be two countries now. He was exactly the right man at the right man, a godsend, and miracle, an angel, whatever, but god intervened to save our country. Also going to gettysburg is a great lesson in itself. We went twice. There is a monument there dedicated from jfk probably because it would have been the 100 year anniversary when he was president. But standing there on the certain hills that the north had to take to win, to be able to sniper shoot the confederates, was so shiver inducing. Living in those war zone areas you learn through the memory of the place. Also, visitinf harper’s ferry was a great way to learn some civil war history, like how john brown was the first abolitionist. Our visit to fort mchenry (though it was originally a revolutionary war site) in baltimore was great too because we learned that lincoln jailed politicians who didn’t want to support the union there. 😉 anyway, it is obvious these people do not know that history. That if they go for it, there will be another sherman burn to come from LA to san Diego let’s say instead of through atlanta this time. There would be a war and generals who are ruthless for keeping our country intact will make them pay, economically etc., a new reconstruction would make california pay.

      • DeniseVB says:

I’m just glad I’m on the side with the guns 😉 I think James McPherson’s “Battle Cry of Freedom” should be required reading in high school and again in college. I read it early in Obama’s admin, and still going OMG! It’s happening again, on purpose! The first Civil War was not just about slavery.

I’ve been thinking about that fearmongering fake news that went out the other day that the donald was going to do an EO to take away lgbt rights, all of them. This got me to thinking about how they called bill clinton the first black president. Well trump is the first gay president, meaning he is the first oe to accept gay marriage. Gays will argue, well the why did he nominate pence. Pence is insurance for impeachment of trump by lgbt loving dems. Strategic.

Why are you quoting CNN? That’s fake news.
Sean Spicer just said in the WH Daily Briefing that the Harley Davidson execs are coming to the WH to meet with Trump (so they didn’t “dump” Trump) and that while there had been consideration of Trump going there to meet with them, due to his schedule it was decided for the execs to come to DC instead. Spicer said the “riot scare” story wasn’t true.

TMZ, it was a Navy Seal. Idiots. Glad it was a private ceremony, first trooper killed under the T administration, Obama would have hauled his entire press corps to the event.

    • taw46 says:

FNC carried it, I posted it above. When he left the WH, press did not know where he was going. So some of the press on Twitter were outraged that he left without telling them. And others on Twitter were snarky and nasty with their comments about where he was headed. WH did not release info until he landed at Dover AFB. Once they found out, Twitter mob started with the Ivanka comments (she is with him). Also, accusing him of murder. These people are just disgusting.
