This is what a douchebag looks like

Remember this guy?

I called bullshit as soon as I read the story. I was right.

Man who claimed mom died in Iraq after Trump’s ban lied, Imam confirms

The leader of a mosque in Dearborn has confirmed to FOX 2 that a man who claimed his mother died in Iraq after being barred from returning to the United States under a ban instituted by President Trump this weekend, lied to FOX 2 about when her death occurred.

Imam Husham Al-Hussainy, leader of the Karbalaa Islamic Educational Center in Dearborn, says Mike Hager’s mom did not pass away this weekend after being barred from traveling to the United States. The Imam confirms that Hager’s mother died before the ban was put in place.

After the story aired on FOX 2 and was posted on FOX2Detroit.com, we received many questions about the validity of Hager’s claims that his mother died waiting to be approved to come home. FOX 2 has confirmed that his mother died five days earlier.

According to Al-Hussainy, Hager’s mother had kidney disease and was receiving treatment in Michigan – where she lived – before traveling to Iraq to visit family. The Imam said she passed away on January 22, 2017, five days before President Trump instituted the travel ban.

On Tuesday, Mike Hager told FOX 2 that he and his family were stopped while trying to return from Iraq to Michigan. He said that he was allowed through because of his American citizenship but his ailing mother and other family members were not. He then claimed that his mom passed away in Iraq on Saturday, as he was traveling to the United States.

What a fucking douchebag.

Can’t have a news cycle during the Trump presidency without FAKE NEWS.

OT — con may Corey Booker strikes again:

  2. DandyTIger says:

Best part is how people on the left just lap up the fake news. Too good to check. They’ve been crying wolf so long they’re getting horse. And there are no good children’s stories about crying horse. 🙂

Hatch – long-serving GOP Senator who is known to be in the old-school “congenial” mold, went mini-nuke in the Finance committee today, temporarily suspending rule that at least 1 member from the minority party be present to conduct business, in order to pass Mnuchin out of committee because Dems decided to have a publicity stunt press conference instead of showing up to work.
In Hatch’s own words (which are fighting words for him, IMO):

We took some unprecedented actions today due to the unprecedented obstruction on the part of our colleagues. As I noted earlier, the Senate Finance Committee has traditionally been able to function in even the most divisive political environments. Personally, as longtime member of this committee, I have been proud of that distinction. And, in my time as both Ranking Member and Chairman of this committee, I have bent over backwards to preserve its unique status as one of the few places where Republicans and Democrats not only work together, but achieve results. That all changed yesterday. Republicans on this committee showed up to do our jobs. Yesterday, rather than accept anything less than their desired outcome, our Democrat colleagues chose to cower in the hallway and hold a press conference. Now, I get that my colleagues think these nominees are controversial. I get that they don’t want to see them confirmed. We’ve all been in that situation. It comes part and parcel with the job of being a Senator. And, this is hardly the first time a nominee deemed to be controversial has come before this committee.

So now their running with the “stolen” bs.
Even at this late date I’m still surprised at the gullibility of these people.

Uh, Newsflash ABC News — he’s not wrong. Islam does mean “submission.”

      • Mt.Laurel says:

In Catholic school we did not study Islam in Comparative Religion as we did Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Shinto, Various branches of Christianity (including those pesky Lutherans), Confucianism, Taoism, heck even Paganism. Nor was is covered under ancient religions. It was covered under World Cultures as a political governance akin to Totalitarianism with a thin veneer of pseudo religion to help maintain control.

        • AFVet says:

I went to a Lutheran school and we studied the pesky Catholics. 🙂

The nuns still not fully forgiven old Martin for taking that theses up and using Guttenberg’s little press to spread the word. But they did admit that he shed light on some very serious problems. Those of us with Protestants in our family trees were supplied ammunition for discussion. Fun times. Almost as fun as the Virginal Birth discussions once kids hit puberty.

        • lateblum says:

I went to Catholic school so long ago that studying other religions was considered a sin. In fact, when I stood up in a friend’s wedding while in college, the priest in my parish said I’d go to hell for doing so. I figured it was worth the risk. The most daring thing we studied in school was Russian literature. lol

          • Mt.Laurel says:

I realized some years ago that my school experience was rather atypical compare to other areas of the state/country. We had guests lectures from other religions and were often invited for special services or tours of various places of worship. When we were in grade school we could walk to more than a dozen churches, synagogues, and temples. When we saw the First Presbyterian church in our city had red velvet cushioned seats and no kneelers we were ready to sign up!

  15. They ran this story on the local news. The lie part, not the part that it was a lie.

  16. helenk3 says:

the Berkley brats are rioting again. this time a breitbart editor was supposed to speak. don’t you love their idea of free speech? as far as I am concerned they should let it burn down. no school then what? hope no other college lets them in, they do not need the headaches

  17. taw46 says:

Tucker show continued past 10:00 pm to discuss violence at Berkeley. He is talking to Milo, who had to be evacuated.

  18. Anthony says:

Milo on FNC right now. Riots at his speaking engagement at UC Berkeley, UCLA rescinded invite for tomorrow’s speech. Hope he got paid…

  20. CiscoKid says:

If President Trump accomplish’s this it just might be the biggest upstage to failed Dem’s control of Chicago politics and the party.
    It’s a big if.

    • swanspirit says:

I think this is the straw that will break the donkey’s back. If President Trump intervenes, and accomplishes something with the gangs of Chicago, even if it is a reduction in shootings and killings, the left will never recover. They are close to never recovering now, but helping the gangs “come to Jesus” would be historic. It would also leave the previous potus, eating his dust.

  21. DandyTIger says:

So the kids in Berkeley are so afraid, they’d rather burn the place down than hear a gay man speak. Talk about homophobic.

  22. DandyTIger says:

MSNBC is saying Trump is planning to invade Mexico. Seriously, fake news is one thing, but they’ve fucking lost their minds. I’m not sure where you go after making that one up. Then again, liberals these days follow the fake news and after it’s proven fake, just jump to the next one.

    • CiscoKid says:

DandyTiger, please tell me your just making funny, this can’t be true.
      Invade Mexico?
      The desperation is becoming palpable.
Why go all the way down south, just go west to California, I won’t call it Mexifornia like some people would.
      Invade Mexico un f’kn real.

      • DandyTIger says:

Yep, that’s what they said. Not even a joke. They were running around with their hair on fire. Now they’ve switched topics and moving on to the next hair on fire. Meanwhile Berkeley liberals turn out to be the biggest homophobes that ever lived.

        • CiscoKid says:

          I’m still laughing, really.
If it wasn’t so late, 11:05 ct I’d call my friends and tell them we’re going to war.
Berkeley, seems police and security were absent.
When in the hell are law enforcement going to start enforcing the law?

    • Somebody says:

If we’re invading Mexico are we going to keep the oil? Can we keep the tequila too?

In all seriousness there could be a hint of truth in that report, more like invade or attack cartels or one or both of the supposed ISIS training camps just across the border. IF such an attack might take place we will have consulted with and gained permission from Mexico. We’ve carried out similar missions before.
