Ex-ethics czar: Kellyanne Conway faces ‘a range of penalties’ for promoting Ivanka’s brand on Fox

Norm Eisen, former White House ethics and transparency czar, asserted on Thursday that Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway had broken federal regulations by promoting Ivanka Trump’s brand on the air.

During an interview with Fox News on Thursday, Conway reacted to Nordstrom’s recent decision to drop Ivanka product line.

“It’s a wonderful line. I own some of it,” Conway opined. “I fully — I’m going to give a free commercial here. Go buy it today, everybody. You can find it online.”

Later on MSNBC, Eisen accused Conway of breaking §2635.702, which forbids “use of public office for private gain.”

“By doing this ad — I have never seen anything like it — it’s a violation of the rules, pure and simple,” Eisen said. “I imagine that you are going to see complaints flowing in. The responsibility to oversee this in the first instance is with the White House counsel, Don McGahn. He’s going to need to look at the rules, look at the precedents and decide what range of penalties might apply.”

“And I think the Office of Government Ethics will also have a look at it,” he predicted. “So, it’s a serious matter.”

These idiots are looking for anything to blow completely out of proportion to take the focus away from a corrupt and unlawful administration that consistently got away with major crimes.
If this DoJ does it’s job in ferreting out the corruptness of the past administration, a comment about a line of clothing is going to look like a hangnail on a corpse.

The previous presidude was not really a presidude. He was the Magical Negro in Chief. Came across an old article about that when googling for more info about the Magical Negro.
    http://www.latimes.com/la-oe-ehrenstein19mar19-story.html
Did that guy ever nail it. I wonder if he is still alive?
But basically “The Magical Negro is a supporting stock character in American cinema who is portrayed as coming to the aid of a film’s white protagonists. Magical Negro characters, who often possess special insight or mystical powers, have long been a tradition in American fiction.”
Spike Lee made the term popular again, but seems to have missed that his favorite presidude was the embodiment of the stereotype.
The folks who felt themselves saved and rescued by their very own magical Negro, are losing it, because he isn’t around to save them anymore, and they were irrational to begin with, and even more so now.
And they call us the nutjobs.

      • DandyTIger says:

Maybe too early for that. But announcing an investigation committee or whatever is probably on the agenda.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

I am still playing devils advocate on this one. IMHO, Carly running in Virginia is akin to Hillary running in New York. At least Ingram went to law school in Virginia. Carly is also a rather weak campaigner and she needs to be able to drum up enough sustained interest to get voters out to overcome areas such as Northern Virginia, Richmond, Charlotteland . Part of me wonders if she has been asked to keep others out of the race and to save the gnome his seat.

        • DeniseVB says:

As our local media covers Carly, she suffered a bruising loss for a Senate seat in California, then moved to Va in 2011. She has spent about 6 more years carpet bagging than Hillary did 😉

          • Mt.Laurel says:

Interesting. I know they owned a place in Georgetown in addition to their California home – and also rented a huge house in Potomac Maryland. I have not realized they has then homesteaded in Northern Virginia. Mason Neck juts out on the Potomac and if they dip their toes in the river – they are in Maryland waters. Is it legal to write an executive order to disband the state of California?

    • I read the entire order. IANALY, but a lot of is bunk, bullshit allegiance to the left and attempting to create new precedence. They give the game away early by objecting to Cartman’s Trump’s argument to “respect my authoriti!” That’s on Team Trump for arguing it that way, but the court sure does have a thin damn skin.

Here’s the biggest disconnect in the whole thing:

“The Government has pointed to no evidence that any
alien from any of the countries named in the Order has
perpetrated a terrorist attack in the United States.”

Um, IANALY, but isn’t that the entire purpose of the EO, to thwart the stated objective of perpetrating terrorists attacks by many, many groups organizing what they are calling “armies” in these countries? Else why do you need the EO, dear prudence? FFS…

      • lateblum says:

This morning they news reported that “no one from these (7) countries has been convicted of terrorist attacks”. Well, no, they haven’t. They’ve been shot and killed by LEOs during or immediately after attacks. (In my recollection) So how could they be convicted?

Time, and the law, are on his side.
SCOTUS — in the Obama DOJ v. Arizona cases, specifically held that states have no standing re: immigration law; it completely belongs to Feds.
If he waits, Gorsuch will make sure there is no “tie” in SCOTUS. If he doesn’t, he’ll just do a slightly altered EO & start over once Gorsuch is on the court.
Personally, I hope he burns the wackadoo 9th circuit to the ground.

      • Lulu says:

Chop it up until it just has Mexifornia in jurisdiction and when they secede they already have their own Supreme Court in place (they can thank us later). Let the excess judges on the Ninth be told no new judges as we are going to attrition you out until you secede. Put WA and OR in a new Idaho court. Tack the rest of the states into neighboring circuits and appoint new judges to expand the existing ones for workload and swing the balance of judges to conservative. Let the Repubs in Congress do it say…next month.

      • kanaughty says:

I want him to write a new eo, infact just keep rewriting them everytime the new one gets challenged.

And write more than one then washington state has to waste tax payer money to keep fighting each one individually.

It is the executive branch’s express authority to do run immigration. And if the judges don’t agree with this, then they are being activists. They are not privy to national security secrets to know why he is doing this. So he shouldn’t have to prove why. If the court branch can take away an express right of the executive branch, then the executive branch can take away the right of the judges for rulings to stand. See how that works. These judges had no right to infringe on the executive branches right to do his job and protect us.

All this bad judgment makes us so vulnerable that an attack is probablt inevitable at this point. And i hope me or my family or friends or you all are not in the wrong place at the wrong time. But trump has proven time and time againge has foresight and instinct on what will happen. And i fear this will happen and it will be bad and trump will not be to blame because of these judges activism.

  17. Oh I am always here, but thanks! 🙂

What I want to know is this: Why is a court that is OVERTURNED 87% of the time still considered a VIABLE and LEGITIMATE court?

          • Somebody says:

We had a judge here that lost his mind, he was eventually impeached. He did some cray cray stuff though. It was so sad that it had to come to that. I knew him personally, actually worked for him. He was an honorable man and a bright legal mind but then he lost it.

          • Somebody says:

I worked for him when he was an attorney, not when he became a judge.

          • Oh, I know you are not a FDR Dem, lol. I was just posting a reminder that he tried that approach as well. I don’t have an issue with lifetime appointments since there are measures to impeach if health issues influence accountability, or if there are ethical violations. The judiciary is set up to ensure continuity and with an idea that accumulated legal wisdom is a good thing.

    • Lulu says:

Because lawyers won’t police other lawyers. If an argument with evidence can be made that judges are killing people by enabling jihadi terrorism, which I think Trump will get to eventually, the pressure will pile on and the lawyers will start disciplining other lawyers which is all that judges are. If a bad episode comes up, and it will, these judges will be called murderers as a kill shot. Self preservation will kick in eventually. The abstract becomes real.

And who is going to steal their shit when they get picked up? Their friends and relatives? The landlord? Who are they going to report it to who gives a crap? From Mexico? Nobody.

It is just now dawning on them that the Trump administration means business. By saying that criminal illegals will be deported first, these idiots thought that meant murderers and they had some time to keep doing what they were doing and mosey on back at a later date or be saved by the globalists or Democrats. ALL of them are criminals by statutory definition. And by being idiots, not filing their paperwork or showing up for hearings, etc they get a one way ticket in a stripped down government van bumping it to an international bridge into a cartel town with shoot outs in the streets. They COULD have packed up, took their money out of the bank account they set up with a stolen identity full of money from illegal work and benefits, drove their car over the border, and headed for home. But they didn’t. So they chose poorly and tough shit.

His fix was to quota the legal citizens with street cams. I pay more for insurance than a driver in New Orleans or Houston because of the uninsured population here. If enough judges agree, the case could go to a “full panel” (which isn’t actually “full” on the 9th, I think it’s 15 judges or so), but the votes to take it to the full panel likely aren’t there.

(Source: I found myself on the wrong end of this procedure just a few years ago, having gotten a favorable decision from a panel headed by Judge Kozinski that promptly got thrown out when we pulled a bad “full” panel (the fact that our opponent was a company that rhymes with Schmoogle and had the resources to keep appealing and appealing and appealing until it got its way didn’t really help matters). It is a power game. A handful of rich guys get richer playing gay card. They own the conversation. A tsunami like Dude Trump might end gravy train. What if you cannot cry victim everyday. Well runs dry. I know the power players. They do not care about poor gay black youth. They care about thinking they are what matters. Because living in a neighborhood infested with professors reflects real life. Peter Thiel spoke at RNC. He was no victim. He is a billionaire. He did not speak of pity he just spoke. What if dims lose gheys and blacks? Yuuuge voting block.
It is taking place right now. I waited until turd commented about gay to tell her I was. Not an issue. All the parents know. No one cares. I have yuuuge sleepovers. My MAGA hat drew some attention. Not bad people just asked how can you be a gay republican like dims owned me. Elitist gays hate me. There was no Milo when I stood up. I was singular at town hall 2008. Bless Milo I am not alone anymore.

I tended bar for 20 years. You pick up a thing or two when you are trapped. I retired at 40 because I made bank. Thought I made bank. I am near broke. Another story. Fucking kids are expensive. . I wanted to cook crack and live in a trailer. No Shay needs plastic coating on her teeth. So much for my Breaking Bad fantasy. 100 a tooth.
Anywho I can read people. I watched for 20 years. My favorite was wintry nights. I worked on 46th and 9th. Bad weather brought in the girls. Ladies that worked. No tip but they drank 20 dollar Hennessey( I always owned where I worked) I sat with hookers for years. I also sat with investment bankers. I can read people when they walk in. I saw Donald polls were so off. I was on the bus day after Trump smacked Kelley down. Pittsburgh. I never heard so much chatter. Sports town. People talk on the bus about games. Not politics. I got off bus and called Vegas. Yep I won yuuuge. I knew he was winning that day. I watched whores for 20 years. Literally whores and bankers, bankers are whores. I learned.I bought netflix at 12 dollars.
Anywho I knew Trump was going to win. Can’t wait until Pence looks at voter fraud. No way Philly numbers add up. Clot got 95% in some districts. No way no how. 95%. Abuse. The numbers do not add up. There are hundreds of thousands registered republicans in Philly they did not vote for hillary. Take a look at Philly numbers for any election so much fraud. They don’t even hide. Obama won with more than 100%. That is not possible. No one cared. Hitlery was supposed to win PA. The deplorables did not sit home. We trumped the Philly/Pittsburgh vote. No amount of fraud could give her PA. There was fraud. Pence do your job. Stop voter fraud.

Watching the news this morning and i think trump should rewrite the eo, infact write several so that the wa state court has to fight every one of them and waste tax dollars. Maybe then wa state people leaning center or red will push their votes towards common sense repubs or indy’s instead of these socialist assholes. If i as a washingtonian can change into an indy voter because of democrat idiotic hijinks, then their are definitely others on the ledge who think this whole thing is bullshit and will leave democrats forever. Especially, washingtonians have a lot at stake being a border state and finding out 1. They are indeed with recent evidence because of this case losing their many high paying jobs to immigrants H1b and 2. Losing their spot at UW to increasingly more and more immigrants (i knew smart washington students who couldn’t get in because UW hit the sealing in their enrollment numbers so went to CWU instead). And the fact that these lawyers, companies, and UW are fighting more for keeping their immigrant money coming in then educating and letting washingtonians work makes a us citizen washingtonian feel like they are not then worth shit in their state or to their government or to their own in state companies even after maybe spending so much money to become certified in programming or at colleges to get these jobs. Or to washington high scholl students who have worked so hard up to this point but then lose their spot to a foreigner at UW the school they’ve been dreaming to go to all their life. I mean washington state is due for a voter correction because the people are seeing just how much they are not valued compared to foreigners through this case.and if they are still blind to this, then they are a bunch of idiots being used for their votes in the washington state bureacracy and political machine. A lot of Washingtonians need to get red pilled asap and i am hoping this case shows the lack of thought for the prosperity of washington citizens. Where foreigners seem to be getting all the benefits (even a state college over washington kids) right now over citizens for no good reasons except maybe illegal votes. I would be bitter and resentful of the washington state government, commercial, education complex.

    • kanaughty says:

The lawyers in washington state laid bare in court around the nation that their is indeed an affirmative action benefitting clearly foreigners over washington state US citizens getting jobs or getting into their own state colleges. That should really be enough of a red pill besides their unpaid college debt because they can’t get a programming job in washibgton state for example.

      • taw46 says:

      • foxyladi14 says:

      • Lulu says:

I wonder if a cross action could be filed in say a Texas court establishing standing that Texas (other states could join) is being harmed by Washington State and their addiction to refugees and H1B’s who are falling under the same EO but really are not. Texas has to foot the bill for welfare for refugees who should not be here while Washington state skims off the cheap labor H1B workers which is more of the cost shifting scheme for globalist employers. Texas is being harmed by Washington state lawfare and seeks redress and Washington state is not the boss of me! Let a Texas judge (like Hannen in Brownsville) reinstate the EO everywhere but the Ninth then kick it to the Fifth Circuit who would uphold. They were put up to this by globalists and those little shits in Washington state should be exposed for what the fuck they are doing. Judge shopping and circuit shopping can go both ways assholes.

        • kanaughty says:

I like this. Then this gives more exposure to texas that they are more business friendly to american workers, there’s more freedom and more stability for american in texas. So texas grows in population for americans who love america and want to put americans first. More tax base, more money to spend on infrastructure and more freedom ventures, more innovation, more new small businesses. Heck, more college students. All the kid would have to do is live in texas for maybe 6 monthsto establish residency, then they can get into great colleges without all the only so many spot hassles that UW is doing prefering foreigners.

    • Lulu says:

That was written by Paul Craig Roberts who is a conservative and a genius. He never fiddles around and always get right to the point. President Trump is saddled with Bush AND Bronco’s misrule and hideous mistakes. Bush and Bronco blew up the middle east and now President Trump is trying to get us out of it all which is what the people voted for.

          • kanaughty says:

I hope more states give drivers on roads more rights against pedestrians on highways where there are even laws they cannot be walking on those roads. Also, maybe cops can just start enforcing haywalking laws if within cities or towns blocking traffic. Like when they are blocking in downtown olympia, wa but the walking light is red while the driving light is green. Cops should just arrest all those blockers for jaywalking and make them pay a fine to get out of jail.
