Happy Valentine’s Day circa 1980

Open Thread for Valentine’s Day Part Deux. ❤

Stealth Magnolia

That is if you’re not celebrating St. Valentine’s head being chopped off on this date 🙂

Fast forward to 1980, after the birth of our 3rd child, I played this song on a loop during the month of January… have been getting “flowers” ever since.  Trump the Feminists, amirite?

If we have to get into Streisand duets, I’ll go with this one

  2. AFVet says:

Don’t know if this was covered in the last thread.
If it was, here it is again.

It appears that Flynn was a thorn in Obama’s side for awhile prior to Trump.

    • Mary says:

Obama fired him for insubordination because he wouldn’t play Obama’s “Al Queda is on the run” and “Isis is contained and not a threat” games.
      True story.

  3. I saw Joanie in 1988 when she opened for Robert Plant in Oakland.

  4. NewOrleans says:

Chelsea tweets are as bad as her mother’s.

  5. Lulu says:

I think Flynn was set upon because he knows too much. Obama Inc. AKA Theft-R-Us, needs to make sure not too much is known about the Iran deal or where da money went.

    • Venus says:

He can still spill the beans to Trump.
Heck his resignation may be part of a plan to expose the moles.

      • Lulu says:

Since he is an admin hire (no Senate) he could be hired back next week. How about that Russian spy ship out in the Atlantic off the east coast sucking up data? Are they doing it to give to Trump so they have a chance at getting sanctions pulled back which the deep state Obama-ites and Neocons are so freaked out about? And I saw the name of Ben Rhodes pop up as the being the WaPo’s contact bringing it all to together for the mau mauing by the progs/Obama. Oh Ben, Putin has your phones tapped. LOL. It is crazy.

        • AFVet says:

Might be real interesting to tap Obama’s phones.

          • Lulu says:

I would imagine Putin already is or is trying to do so. But really the lower level operatives are the ones paid to take all the risks and not him. Until there is a very high penalty they will keep on.

    • kanaughty says:

I want to trump to seriously null and void that iran deal with an EO this week. It never went through congress so it should be that easy to get rid of.

BUSTED: Open Borders Hero Jorge Ramos Lives in Exclusive $6 Million Island Home Surrounded by Water, Fences, Huge Wall

As we suspected, Ramos is another celebrity who lives by the credo: Do as I say, not as I do.

By the way, Ramos is worth somewhere between $25 million and $275 million USD, depending on which ex wife you ask.

    That’s a lot of pesos.

    Behold utter poverty:

    • Lulu says:

He was a visa overstay and now a dual citizen. He came with a student visa to go to I think UCLA. But never went. He went to work illegally (not a work visa) instead for a Chicano radio station. He is just another fraud. Those visas need to be enforced so they can’t get a toehold into the country illegally. He should have been denied citizenship as a visa fraud.

  7. Dora says:

Another blast from the past. I was never into this, but Tom and I did buy the same jackets one time. We found them on sale in Kohls. I always felt a bit silly when we wore them at the same time. 🙂

The Nightmare That Was “His & Her” Fashions

Yes, in the 1960s-80s a couple could wear matching sweaters without the slightest sense of irony or self-reflection. Catalogs and fashion magazines were littered with guys and girls in identical attire looking just as cheesy as you can imagine.

    • elliesmom says:

Have any of the boycotts from the left had the effect they hoped to achieve? Other than the colossal failure of the Chik-Fil-A one, it’s hard to find follow through in the media. The pizza place they boycotted over the gay wedding thing closed for a few days and came back stronger. They’ve managed to get some folks fired and used the courts against others, but has an actual boycott worked?

    • Lulu says:

That was a “please like me!” decision while they were already tits up. They also did it before November 20th. Another fashion business disaster.

    • foxyladi14 says:

      Yippee!!! 😆

  10. Dora says:

Poor Tiffany has nothing to do with all this. Yet, they wouldn’t sit near her. Were they afraid they would catch something? This is sick. Really, really sick.

Tiffany Trump shunned by magazine editors at New York Fashion Week

Several fashion editors took to Twitter revealing that people were scrambling to move their seats because they didn’t want to be near the 23-year-old.

    • votermom says:

she’s at 343K followers on twitter right now. I bet as the story spreads it will skyrocket

    • Lulu says:

How vicious and tacky they are to a young girl. Maybe Tiffany will have learned to eschew that shallow, frivolous, greasy world of “fashion” and get busy at law school coming up. At the inauguration I noticed that this girl has one of the sexiest, unpractised walks anywhere. I think she should thank her mom.

      • Jadzia says:

Marla was so beautiful back in the day.

        • Lulu says:

AND hot stuff. Totally natural. Not the sharpest tool in the shed but we can’t have everything. LOL. As you can see I’m not the jealous sort. And as beautiful as Ivanka is and smart, she needs to brush up on HER mother’s mean gene. I’m seeing too much doormat behavior from her. Get tough girl!

          • Jadzia says:

Yeah, I was not going to mention that Marla seems a bit, um, wackadoodle.

          • Anthony says:

True dat lol. Ivana was a client of mine in the 90’s, via one of her personal assistants. She wasn’t ‘Leona Helmsley’ mean, but if you screwed up, she really let you have it. Something about Eastern European women that I still admire – they never throw the first punch, but if you try to hurt them, they come for you and keep coming for you until they get you. Witness the enormous lawsuits Melania just won from suing the shit out of the ‘journalists’ who advanced the fake story that she used to work as an escort. Nothing but silence for weeks, until she won in court. #SharkEyes can kill you lmao

    • Jadzia says:

Jesus Christ. I don’t think she even lived with her father as a kid, did she?

  11. taw46 says:

Another one leaves the crazy Dem party.

    • Lulu says:

As the Dems become crazier left, the still sort of left of center, center, and right on a few issues, will bail on them. The purge from 2008 of blue dogs and moderates continues. This is how purple states go red, and suburbs do too. 2018 will be a slaughter and then the 2020 re-districting will finish them off. I think their will be Dem retirements and party changers later this year and in 2018. The absolutely worst thing the Dems could have done is pick Pelosi and Schumer but they did it anyway. Hurray! And as Dem voters switch to Indy then Repub the Republican party becomes more moderate and populist.

  12. Dora says:

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) has introduced H.R. 899, a one-sentence long bill which would eliminate the Department of Education in its entirety by the end of 2018. Let’s hope more will sign on.

Why Do We Have a Department of Education? Jimmy Carter’s Debt to a Teachers Union.

Public education existed well before 1980, but an unpopular President Carter wanted the nation’s largest union on his

    • Lulu says:

They could do away with it and put a small sub department in the Dept of Commerce to determine what is needed to improve workforce challenges. Do away with Dept of Labor too.

      • elliesmom says:

Compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act is also a big issue in education, but there’s no reason HHS can’t monitor that

        • Lulu says:

We could work it all out right here on this blog! Ha. And health rather than fads and social policy should be the major determinant anyway.

        • NBD says:

I’m all for taking a simpler approach: get rid of the ADA and its ridiculous requirements that drive up the cost of nearly everything for the benefit of a very small number of people. That’s the sort of regulation dismantling that Trump should focus on!

          • Somebody says:

Well possibly, but I wouldn’t suggest trying to cut through that particular red tape right now. He has enough heat right now without reprising the Trump mocks the disabled meme.

          • dm says:

What would be nice if there were consistent standards to go with the ADA and its application. Sorry, but I come from a disabled persons perspective. My sister had muscular dystrophy and what some people label a handicap bathroom, is not a 1 size fits all. My own disability (vision) now requires certain considerations when I am out in the public. I’m sure like any government agency/regulation/policy that one can find bloat. Yes, we are a small percentage of the public…except when you have to circle the local Wal-Mart for 30 minutes trying to find a handicap accessible spot – one with enough room to accomodate a wheelchair and room to assist said disabled person.

          • DeniseVB says:

I’m not disabled, but if there’s a ramp available, I take it. Especially with rolling luggage or baby strollers.

          • elliesmom says:

In schools compliance with the ADA is a lot more than school infrastructure. All classroom materials must be accessible to hearing and vision impaired students whether you have one in your classroom or not. All videos have to be close-captioned or have a transcript. Every photo or drawing has to have a detailed description that can be read by a text to voice reader. A teacher who is inclined to create her own classroom materials has a lot of hills to climb to stay compliant. There’s a lot more stuff, but this isn’t the forum. 😉 I ran into the ADA a lot when I was designing online curriculum, but it’s a lot easier to comply there than in a classroom.

        • Somebody says:

DOE was initially an office in HHS.

In the event anyone thought the onslaught against DJT wasn’t organized…. Here’s a link to something that has a certain community organizer’s sleazy prints all over it:

Sally seems to have been effected by that disorder so many liberals suffer from.

    • elliesmom says:

There would be no basis for a special election constitutionally. Ryan would just be POTUS.

    • Lulu says:

To impeach there must be “conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.” What exact crimes have been committed and are provable other than he is not Bronco? And it has to be by the Congress which is overwhelmingly Republican. This is like the demented Vile Progs and their inability to understand the electoral college. The language is very clear in Art II but they don’t seem to able to do it like an average fifth grader. If they ever left their feedback delusion bubble they would be told you are stupid and that is not happening. It is wish-casting by the delusional.

      • DeniseVB says:

So Dems aren’t smarter than a 5th grader? Sorry, couldn’t resist, so here’s a good smackdown of the media by former NeverTrumper Michelle Malkin on Obama’s first 100 days…..

        • Lulu says:

When your livelihood depends on being dense and clueless you stay dense and clueless at least publicly. Again like I have said before the gravy train is in great peril from Trump. All of these people are stuck in the “pay me” for my scam queue and if that gets cut off or even interrupted they are fucked. Many say it is about power and prestige. Whatever. It is about money. OURS going to THEM. The more hysterical they get the closer it is.

      • blowme0bama says:

Well, basically any president could be impeached by virtue of the phrase “and misdemeanors”. Pubic intoxication? Yup. Literring? Yup. Shoplifting? Yup.

It’s really a *political* matter – is there enough political will to remove the sitting President.

Bronco could have been impeached for God knows how many things, but there was no political will to do so.

        • DeniseVB says:

The GOPe protected him and themselves. I figured that out when Obama put his IRS goons on the Tea Party. No GOPe (a majority then) did NOTHING. I figured out the Duopoly just by that inaction.

    • Dora says:

Gorgeous house. Hubby’s sister used to live in Vienna and loved the beauty and serenity she found there. She had to move when her Hubby got a new job. They now live in Plano, Texas. I think they both still miss Virginia. Can’t blame them.

      • DeniseVB says:

Virginia has some of the most beautiful towns and cities. We moved back from SoCal because we simply missed the season changes. Summers and winters are short and sweet too.

I lived right next to Melbourne before I retired and moved. Damn, this is his second event there and I will miss it again! It will get a huge crowd as there are many military retirees in Brevard County. County is also home to both Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral.

Michael Moore Calls For Hillary to be Installed as President, Wants Trump Arrested

In a deranged Facebook rant, far-left film maker Michael Moore has called for Hillary Clinton to be installed as president and failing that, the presidential election to be held all over again.

Moore cites a New York Times report that he states proves, “Campaign officials and Trump associates made repeated contacts and calls with Russian intelligence during the YEAR leading up to the election.”
