Khizr Khan claims travel privileges under review

Gold Star father Khizr Khan’s “freedom to travel abroad” is reportedly under review, and he says he doesn’t know why.

Khan was scheduled to speak at a luncheon in Toronto on Tuesday “on what we can do about the appalling turn of events in Washington — so that we don’t all end up sacrificing everything.” The two-hour event was to include a presentation and then a question-and-answer session.

But Khan was told late Sunday that his traveling privileges were under review, according to Ramsay Talks, which organized the luncheon.

“As a consequence, Mr. Khan will not be traveling to Toronto on March 7th to speak about tolerance, understanding, unity and the rule of law,” it said in a statement. “Very regretfully, Ramsay Talks must cancel its luncheon with Mr. Khan. Guests will be given full refunds.”

Khan said in a statement that he was confused about why his travel status changed, without explaining in detail the circumstance.

“This turn of events is not just of deep concern to me but to all my fellow Americans who cherish our freedom to travel abroad,” Khan said. “I have not been given any reason as to why. I am grateful for your support and look forward to visiting Toronto in the near future.”

It’s not clear exactly what Ramsay Talks meant by “traveling privileges,” and the group did not respond to a request for comment, nor did Khan.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection official, citing privacy issues, declined to discuss Khan specifically but appeared to dispute the report, telling POLITICO that CBP doesn’t contact travelers in advance of their travel abroad.

“With respect to Global Entry or trusted traveler membership, CBP’s engagement is about the status of membership in the program, not any particular travel itself,” the official said. “Of course, any U.S. citizen with a passport may travel without trusted traveler status. All individuals are subject to inspection departing or upon arrival to the United States.”

He says someone called him late Sunday night and told him his travel privileges were under review. When reporters try to get follow-up information he says “No comment.”

Of course the gullible media fall for it hook, line and sinker. So do the rest of the Left.

Wouldn’t surprise me. See above – State Dept says anyone with valid passport may leave the US – up to individual to determine requirements of their destination country.

I spent the morning teaching a sewing class at the local senior center. There was a lot of laughter, cooperation, and kindness. The only “politics” was a story I told them about being at a cocktail party with Donald Rumsfeld, and it was about sewing. I need more of that in my life right now.

I hope you have many more. I have been immersed in having ” Fixer Upper” going on in my home. I have an almost completely new bathroom, and the hallway floor is in and the hall ready to be painted. I personally and all by myself painted the linen closet, white, and the shelves a nice lavender. It looks like a Martha Stewart closet, for now. I keep opening the door just to look at it.

    Dan Bongino weighs in:

    Biz Pac Review has reported:

In a Facebook Live video after the tweets, Bongino said the media wants to push the story that Trump might have pressured the FBI to tell him about the wiretap or that the president is lying.

But he explained that Trump’s Secret Service protection probably did electronic countermeasure sweeps to check for listening devices and found the bugs.

The media is too busy looking to find a way to make the story about President Trump doing something incorrect to realize that this is the most likely scenario, according to Bongino.

And he believes America is going to find out this week.

So where is Obama? Kind of odd how the usual loudmouth is all the sudden mysteriously silent, almost as if he’s gone into hiding. It will be extremely interesting to see what else comes of this, as you know that President Trump is already leading a thorough investigation to get to the bottom of just how far-reaching Obama’s spying truly goes.

I walked in and said how much to London. this was 1993. pre Travelocity. she said when I said tonight. I had only clothes on my back and thank god a passport. I chose London because I can sorta speak the language. I went alone on a whim. I bought Let’s Go London at the airport and took the tube to a hostel. I took a hit on my insurance attorney offered me 5 and he’d collect anything over. I was waiting tables on 5th Avenue and 9th street. I literally crawled out of the fire. next morningI I was in my socks in front of Payless. they would not let me in cause I had no shoes. I really had no shoes. someone was kindand brought me out a cheap pair of shoes I went to work I had my uniform there. I never wrote anything down. my mom is idactic. I am not but when I was young I could replay anything My youthful brain was like a DVR. Anyhow I thought I could work nope it took me hours to process I had crawled out of a fire. This woman was ordering salmon. I felt like I was drowning. I decided to give Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta a shot I had heard her pay tribute to Julie Andrews but never actually listened to her stuff. dag that young lady can belt it out. many artists buy songs change a few lines and slap their own name on them. it’s pretty obvious that GaGa writes her own stuff. all the songs are related. I think I have become a fan the gimmicky stuff is a bit tiring and a lesser talent would have been consumed by it. I sense she is savvy. Instead of demanding she be the star she took small roles to cut her teeth. She is doing the remake of A Star is Born with Bradley Cooper. he seems a bit young and polished to play a washed up alcoholic. Real life he put the bottle down years ago because it was killing him. Still seems too pretty and booze seems so passe in a world where housewives buy oxy in the parking lot . I cannot judge. I buy booze by the pint because I know I am drinking what ever I have once I start.
this will be 4th version. How do you top Evergreen? I am not a babs fan but to me that song and scene nears perfection. it is cheesy but its fondue not nuked velveeta I actually think she can direct as long as she is not in the shot

I think Trump has been “tapped” since Birth Certificate Gate. And Trump knew it and sucked them in deeper and deeper. “Tapped” means under surveillance and not only signal spying. The Hahvard-ites have great difficulty following the simple language (it is really shorthand or code of a sort) that Trump uses since they are simple minded literalists. Loretta Lynch completely lost her shit this weekend because she knows she is caught and went straight to the race card calling for riots as a reflex. She is very freaked out. They don’t know what Trump knows and it has made them all shut up for the time being trying to figure it out. And “taps” don’t work on couriers which Trump has already admitted to using just like the military with brief cases shackled to the couriers which includes fake-outs and misdirections. It is reminiscent of the Enigma operation during WWII. The media and Obama-ites forget Trump has employed ex-intelligence sorts for information for business for decades.

      • DeniseVB says:

Trump’s been tapped by both parties forever. He was always a threat if he ran for Pres to the duopoly as we’ve seen since June 2015. Nothing could stop the Trump Train and they’ve learned NOTHING. But so much fun to watch !

My list of holiday destinations is getting shorter and shorter. I think that Finland (my REAL top choice; as a Yooper it would practically be a heritage trip) is tolerating less of this nonsense, and I mostly want to go to Samiland anyway, which is probably not a big “refugee” destination because it’s ball-freezingly cold.

      • CiscoKid says:

Have you ever thought of the South Pacific?
Tahiti, Easter Island. Easter is small, you can do it in two days, fly out from Papeete on the main island. Bora Bora, Moorea, Huahine, all beautiful and easily accessible by boats or small aircraft.
Jewelry? Black pearls. Only place in the world.
Been there when the dollar was reasonably strong.
But once you go, you’ll go back again.

        • Somebody says:

My youngest daughter has always wanted to go to Easter Island, the most remote island in the world they say. She wants to see the statues……is there anything else to do there?

I saw a special on Iceland, they don’t seem to be into refugees either. It’s very pretty, but again I don’t know that there is a lot to do there.

          • CiscoKid says:

If you like fresh seafood, excellent.
Not really. Went to see the quarry’s where the stone for the statues came from.
One location had the largest group of statues, pretty impressive.
The town is modest in size, but had pretty good restaurants and of course souvenir shops. Very walking conditions. We didn’t need a car.
After see the sites, we’d find a restaurant near the shore get a cocktail before dinner and watch the sunset.
As a solo destination I’d say hit Tahiti fly to Easter, the back to Tahiti to finish your remaining time.

        • Jadzia says:

Sadly, I am terrified of flying. It sounds so, so beautiful, though. : (

          • DeniseVB says:

How did you get to France? (wink, wink) So glad to see you on the thread this morning, because in the news FRANCE-AVALANCHE-JADZIA ! Thinking…. I hope she didn’t take the kids skiing 😀

          • Jadzia says:

I took the maximum amount of Xanax my doctor would allow, and don’t actually remember the flight. Going off to find out about this avalanche; all I saw on the news this morning were a couple of deaths (a car driver and a truck driver) from being hit by branches? The big story here is a horrible quadruple murder of an entire family an hour or so from here. The family disappeared suddenly about a week ago; yesterday the father’s ex-brother-in-law was arrested and this morning he confessed to killing them all, apparently over an inheritance. I cannot imagine the evil that would kill children over something like that.

          • I remember when you were allowed to get drunk before and during flights.

          • Jadzia says:

I remember when you could smoke on the plane!

          • DeniseVB says:

Here’s some avalanche news, from CNN, so it could be fake? 😛

I had to get over my fear of flying when my son moved to Florida and had twins. 30hr/bus/train trips were no longer an option. A glass or three of wine at the airport bar helped A LOT! Though not my seatmates’, I’d talk their ears off the entire flight 😀

          • Jadzia says:

Yep, seems like the ski-resort avalanche was totally different than the stuff I saw on the news this morning, which was probably caused by the horrible windstorms.

I wish alcohol helped with the flying. It suuuuucks. It probably didn’t help that the last time I got shamed into flying, I ended up in the (super bouncy!) last row seated next to a super drunk man who appeared to be wearing a PILOT’S UNIFORM and was carried/dragged off the plane by the stewardesses when we got to Riga. The airline, airBaltic, was in the news something like 3 months later after half a flight crew tested positive for alcohol right before takeoff.

I got a wake up call this weekend. My kid hit a speed bump. I took charge. She is my kid not my kid. I will do everything in my power to alleviate any and all issues. All that is in my power I will do. No apologies. I was born with health issues and then God said let’s fuck with Tim and make him a good looking fag. I set out with my kid just wanting to protect her. I exist in this body that has not always been my friend. I do not give a shit about cnn or Camille Paglia. I know hurt. My job is to spare my crud. I am not a real parent. I will take everything a thousand times over to spare her. She has been in all this physical shit since 3. I thought she might like Flashdance. nope. She took umbrage at the fake dancer. She said Jennifer Beals did not have core strength. she is correct. pup does back flips while I attempt to watch Jeopardy.
my wealthy prog friends think I spoil. I am not sure if I know what that means. I will give until I bleed. I believe in her. I do not know how to drive. She had been in tae kwon do for three years. dad went coma. I said baby girl it is no longer possible but as fate would have it we walked by Master Kim’s. we went in. I was beyond ashamed. My socks were a disgrace. I am 50 I spend my money on her. I don’t need socks. Somehow I stumbled into this place. Mr Kim had a heart transplant I want nothing more than my brat not hurt like I have. I want her to enjoy her physicality. What hapless homo gets my ride? anybody quoting Leviticus needs to know its been a decade. I am so flawed but I will do my best for her. no matter if you think homosexuality is a disease my brat was in a bad place. I was 40 and saw a neglected kid. judge my actions. squid is a gem. A diamond in the rough, Not a soul cared about her. I did all a throw away kid had. yes I guess I spoil, I don’t understand that term’ All I have I will give and then some. math teacher is maybe worst person I have ever met. She is a big advocate for underprivledged. Shay does not have normal life. We did not board pity train. her life can be all she wants. I surrendered ten years to permit her to shine; Politics will not end my baby. Math teacher wore Hillary garb to school
I cherish my monster not going to happen that a pussy hat wearing educator decides my childs future. A big no, I will take stock and correct. I already did my kid will learn. I will not fight city hall. I’m gonna fix what I can. This teacher is trash. I do not say that lightly. I had an outhouse and stole newspaper to wipe my ass. I personify white trash. decades later I get a brat. She takes tae kwon do, jazz, ballet, hip hop, gymnastics’ sax piano and goes to the CLO to study acting. my rich friends said I give too much
CLO is 600 a semester payable in four payments; She goes at 9 am and finishes at four, Every Saturday for four months. Its a day dream. Its high end. For 150 a week my kid gets to live in the elitist world’ I deal with parents all the time that complain about prices. Put out the Newports, I cannot quit smoking. A pack of non generic costs 9 dollars That is 270 a month. I roll my own. 45 a month Tuition at CLO is 150. make a decision enough of pity party

    • mothy67 says:

Correction CLO is 150 a month not a week. Its amazing. kids go on to CMU and Yale school of drama. So cheap to open up a world to my brat. I think it was last year I walked in on crud having a sit down with Morgan Fairchild, She was doing a play and stopped for water and ended up chatting with my brat; Curd has no clue Miss Fairchild was an 80″s vixen, Flamingo Road. Just a passerby that chatted. Morgan was so kind to my brat. Shay had no clue she was a star doing regional theater’ My kid is polite and Morgan hung put with a kid who had manners’
I wonder why people question me. I get it done. Think about my baby girl. She was thrown away. for real trash. I said hold my beer I got this Softball she wins MVP over and over again. it hasn’t even been work. I was simply an odd gay guy with a kid no one wanted.
I can make no sense of anything. How did I get here? Middle aged gay man cares for a great niece, She breaks her collar bone. I did not plan it. She was broken. on the floor was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s stone. I did not plan on taking my girl on that magic carpet ride. fate had plans I read every word to her. Every word, Many nights we stayed up all night. JK Rowling might be an asshole now but imagine the gift she gave me, Pup had so little. Those tomes gave her faith. Old great gay uncle is her Harry Potter’ She sees me as a rock. She knows I am flawed but accepts I am there for her. She is not dumb. She shocks me. wants to discuss if harry’s glasses are a metaphor. how does he see the world?

It poses a real threat to the foundation of our Republic. There is only one way to destroy this movement short of lining the perpetrators up and shooting them–an open, transparent investigation. The facts I have presented above are very straightforward–there is not a shred of evidence of any conclusive or direct link between Mr. Trump and the Russian government. Period. The crazed folks who insist otherwise are not entitled to have us indulge their delusional fantasy.”

The longest 2 hours of my life. I’ve read in a couple of places that Madonna thinks the song is a ripoff, and even though there really is nothing new under the sun PLUS it kills me to agree with Madonna about everything, well, I agree with Madonna on this one.
