I hope this is true.

Did Donald Trump leak his own tax returns?

David Cay Johnston, the journalist who revealed President Donald Trump’s 2005 tax returns, said he doesn’t know who supplied the documents and it was at least possible the White House was behind the release.

“Yes,” the Pulitzer prize winning journalist replied when CNN anchor Poppy Harlow asked him if he thought the two pages, which show Trump paid $38 million in taxes that year, could have been sent by the President himself.

“Donald has a long history of leaking things about himself and doing it indirectly and directly,” Johnston told Harlow and Chris Cuomo. “So it’s a possibility.”

Johnston, however, did not provide evidence for that theory and argued later that the White House’s response suggested the President was displeased with the release.

“The anger with which the White House responded suggested not likely, however,” he said. “It’s when something gets leaked he’s happy about he doesn’t complain.”

Later Wednesday morning the President turned to Twitter to express apparent displeasure with the release of the documents, seeming to question Johnston’s narrative that the returns had been mailed to him, unsolicited.

“Does anybody really believe that a reporter, who nobody ever heard of, ‘went to his mailbox’ and found my tax returns? @NBCNews FAKE NEWS!” tweeted the President.

Last night was like November 8th all over again. It is so much sweeter to think that Trump made them do it to themselves.

LOL, now all she does is scowl at a camera and demand “resist!” your duly elected President. Not a real uniting message, imo.

    • Lulu says:

THIS could explain why Maddow (and that old nobody investigative reporter) was made the scapegoat to divert attention away from THIS story. The timing of her “exclusive” was suspicious and anyone with half a brain knew it was a nothing burger. Better to make a fool and spectacle out of her than let the Congressional Dems be part of or enabling a spy ring.

I have to admit that Trump’s smugface is beginning to grow on me.

    • Lulu says:

The IRS would have kicked the return into major audit if the Trump accountants had done what they claim he could or SHOULD have done in their teeny, tiny Vile Prog minds. What they are advocating is ignoring TAX law. You cannot. You have to file it according to the laws in place for the year in question or you can be convicted of tax fraud. Do they not understand this? To GIVE money to the US government to assuage your squirrelly conscience or some stupid shit you donate it to the Treasury Department not on your F’ing tax return.

  13. Dora says:

Wow! Yes Obama. You read it right.

Congress Demands Investigation Into Obama Admin Meddling in Foreign Elections

Obama admin gave taxpayer money to Soros to spark leftist political revolution

A group of leading senators is calling on newly installed Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to immediately launch an investigation into efforts by the Obama administration to sway foreign elections by sending taxpayer funds to “extreme and sometimes violent political activists” that promote leftist causes, according to a copy of the letter.

          • DeniseVB says:

I only remember Maddow from being a regular contributor on the old MSNBC Keith Olbermann show circa 2008. She was considered an Olbermann “prodigy” then got her own show, Keith lost his soon after. Journalism !

“The Dutch election is expected to have a massive turn out with some areas reporting up to 100 percent. The election is seen as one of the most important in recent Dutch history as anti-mass migration candidate Geert Wilders hopes to build on the anti-globalist momentum of the Brexit and Trump campaigns.”

      • Jadzia says:

Exit polls say no. I just turned on the tv to yet another big so called investigative report that calls all fn supporters the r word. I sure could use some winning.

Waiting for the progs to say Trump paying taxes proves he’s incompetent. You know it’s coming.

    • CiscoKid says:

I’ve always taken issue with the term loophole.
Tax laws are made in WDC, by elected representatives, some in office for decades.
Now it would seem to me that in 10, 15 years they would know how to write a tax law perfectly without any loopholes or flaws.
So its voted on and NO ONE notices the loophole/flaw and says, wait a minute, there’s something wrong with this bill.
No. It done on purpose so it can be used by the very people that pass it.
      Make sense?

  23. Jadzia says:

First exit poll says wilders lost

      • Jadzia says:

The report characterizes rutte’s presumed pickup of 30 out of 150 seats as a huge victory. Math, what is it again?

    • DandyTIger says:

Well, less seats. Not a win/lose kind of thing. Not sure there’s ever been a non-coalition majority in modern times.

      • Jadzia says:

True, but it would have been better for wilders to get 31 and rutted to get 19. What people don’t get is that this years elections may be the last chance to get change at the ballot box. How many of our new arrivals are going to have voting rights 5 years from now? It’s going to be a very different electorate.

  24. mothy67 says:

    • Jadzia says:

So the center right party is down 10 from 2012 and the center left is down 29? Interesting.

      • mothy67 says:

Knowing nothing about what I right it looks like center left moved to blunt Wilders.

          • Jadzia says:

Our second new halal butcher in 6 months just opened in the neighborhood. Next to the three kebab shops where you never see a woman ever, and the coffee place which is also a no woman zone with the added fun of outside tables so ladies get to navigate a hostile-ish crowd of young men just walking past in the middle of the day. Next to the new kebab shop that opened and quickly closed after some internecine brawl trashed the place a few months ago, but now they are reopening. I would be surprised to still live in this quartier 5 years from now.

          • mothy67 says:

I really am so sick of progressive bullshit. What makes them think this will end well? A pipe bomb today in Germany(neutralized). Terror is now an everyday thing and it was imported by our governments. You couldn’t pay me to go Europe now.

    • DandyTIger says:

Still, it’s exit polls, and we have record turnout. The final results may be different.
