Saturday Open Thread

Thanks to my cousin I have been sleeping like a baby the past few days, and I don’t mean that I’ve been crying a lot and wetting the bed.

When you see it . . .

Wow, Pat Condell really told it like it is. That was great.

    • lateblum says:

He reminded me of so many things that I connect with our last administration. Remember when obama said to the Brits that if they left the EU, they’d be at the “back of the line” when it came to the US doing business with foreign countries? I saw that on tv and nearly leapt through the screen to tear his eyes out. I read people like Ben Rhodes and David Brooks and Paul Krugman who all think we are so beneath them and are so filled with hubris and rarely finish reading what they write because their disrespect and disregard is so blatant. I see the mayors of many big cities who seem to think that position is their birthright and those who oppose them are parasitic vermin. And who are sometimes so blatantly rude that it makes me wonder who ever voted for them in the first place. I also see that in other elected officials. In Illinois we have not had a state budget since 2015. But those same representatives who fail to develop a budget, give themselves raises and actually have attempted to tax Illinoisans based on their occupations! Just this past week, the house legislators attempted to levy a “PRIVILEGE TAX” on people who work as financial managers. These are the men and women who are privileged to serve in the state house of representatives. They cheat and undermine and harm the people while increasing theirs and their friends’ bank accounts. Yet they want to tax citizens who actually do the jobs they are hired to do.
I think I’ll have to shut down for a while. I’m still working on my income tax. IT’s the first time I won’t have an employer’s W-2 and will have to figure out how pensions and SSA and massive medical expenses can benefit me rather than those crooks in state and federal government who are sneering at me every day.
      Have a good day!

        E’ffn thieves, all of them.

      • swanspirit says:

Even with hindsight, looking back at some of the more outrageous statements they made; it is apparent the Obama party thought they would remain in power, possibly forever. Thank Goddess they did not.

    • taw46 says:

I have been listening to Pat Condell for years, wish more people could. Maybe some of them would start thinking. And he is right, it was only to be a trade agreement for them in the beginning. We were making trips to Greece in the 80’s, and our Greek friends were totally against the EU. They were able to predict what would happen in the future, losing control of their country, they were right.

I’ll try to post a pic in a bit. Soo busy right now.

  7. My power went out. What did I miss?

  8. Well, that just got awkward.

That guy is just a turd. Wonder where he hides all this courageous leadership of his.

      • cynic says:

Yea, I never heard of him prior to the election, and now it seems like they’re making him out to be someone important. He’s a gnat, that I want to swat away.

  9. Jadzia says:

For those of you who have asked about Marine Le Pen, although I firmly believe that the fix is in for Emanuel “open the borders and send me your cougar high school teachers” Macron, I read an article from a month or two ago (frankly I’m too tired to search for more current information in a foreign language) saying that Marine was leading in my region. That shocked the shit out of me, because this is not only an extremely university-heavy area (champagne socialists as far as the eye can see) but also the birthplace of the French Communist Party (the railroad mechanics and other industrial workers historically concentrated in the suburban area).

But like I said, the fix is in. A few weeks from now, I’m pretty sure I’m not gonna want to talk about Justin Trudeau, Part Deux and his mommywife.

    • Somebody says:

That is very interesting Jadzia, perhaps the French people have had enough multiculturalism. I know nothing of French voting patterns, but I’ve read the area over near the Swiss border is fairly solid LA Pen. I don’t know if LA Pen can hobble together enough support to pull off a win. I would imagine the large urban areas swing the vote in France, correct?

    • DeniseVB says:

LOL, what war? Where were they the past 8 years while rootin’ tootin’ cowboy Obama was shooting off his loads (bombs and our cash) on the meek and innocents in the brown countries?

      • cynic says:

In a radio interview, August 2009, on WLS Chicago radio, Charlie Gibson was asked if
Cindy Sheehan would be going to Martha’s Vineyard, where Obama was vacationing, to protest the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan.

Gibson’s response was that she should ‘get over it already’.

Cindy served her purpose, and she wasn’t needed anymore. Guess droning 7 countries wasn’t important to the Left’s war protesters. These hypocrites are driving me crazy.

Oh, and Charlie Gibson retired shortly after that interview. Don’t miss him one bit.

  11. Dora says:

    So what does this mean?

Red Cross: US strikes on Syria’s Assad ‘amounts to an international armed conflict’

The situation in Syria “amounts to an international armed conflict” following U.S. missile strikes on a Syrian airbase, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) told Reuters on Friday.

    • Somebody says:

I think it means POTUS may get a sternly worded letter. Gosh I hope it doesn’t scare him too badly. Maybe he should let Mad Dog open it for him.

    • DeniseVB says:

As compared to the Obama admin bombing a Doctors Without Borders hospital which the UN even declared a war crime? Bam said he was sorry, would investigate and the story disappeared?

    • Venus says:

and that is why i donate to the salvation army and not the red cross.
also the fact that the national SA director makes less than $70k a year while the RC one makes almost a million

    • John Denney says:

” international armed conflict” is probably some legalese that if declared by some authority will give power and money to the Red Cross.

    • helenk3 says:

since both my father and my husband would not give to the Red Cross on a bet I do not think I would pay too much attention to them.
My father came home from the CBI theater on a hospital ship. The red cross was selling donated cigarettes to the wounded.
My husband had a family emergency while in the service and needed money to come home. he got it from the red cross and they took every dime of his pay for several months to pay it back. did not leave him enough for shaving cream. They could have taken 1/2 and left him some money to live on but chose not to do so

      • blowme0bama says:

I’ll never forget what the did after Katrina. Gave out debit cards worth 2000, with no need for any ID, but wouldn’t announce where they would distribute them until an hour before giving them out. Then, after about 6 weeks they quit giving them out in the affected areas and strated giving them out in the areas the people evacuated from.

The shittiest thing was they were pleading for people to donate video games, flashlights, blankets, cots, walkie talkies …. I’m like, “aren’t these the kind of things, I don’t know, maybe a “rescue” organization ought to have on hand?!?!!?”

I’ll never give a cent to them.

      • lateblum says:

My parents said the same thing about the RC. So I have continued their practice of giving to SA, the local food pantry and Doctors Without Borders. I had some problems giving to SA after they so discriminated against gays. But after they were so helpful to two of the patients I had who were gay, I resumed donating to them.

Oh no. Even on Palm Sunday.

    • swanspirit says:

Especially on Palm Sunday, or any other Christian holy day. More victims. I guess they were too impatient to kill people to wait for Easter, or they have another target. But don’t say anything against the Muslims, you racist islamophobes.

      • taw46 says:

There were two churches attacked. And you are right, can you imagine if two mosques were attacked?

        • lateblum says:

The news this morning reported the Coptic Pope was present at one of those churches for Palm Sunday rites. I haven’t looked to see which church it was. The report did not mention his name, but I’d guess if he were a casualty, that would have been reported .

        • lyn says:

I was thinking that too. Is anyone going to bomb a mosque?

        • mcnorman says:

Remember Bam didn’t do anything during Ramadan.

          • lateblum says:

How did you even notice that? Seriously, he did so little all the time, I wouldn’t have been able to tease Ramadan from the rest of his “pResidency”.

      • lateblum says:

I wonder what surprises are in store for Good Friday and Easter Sunday. And doesn’t Passover begin Tuesday? This should prove to be a big week for terrorists.
When will the tolerant Left begin to understand that they have been lied to and are completely misguided?
