Nah, the difference between this shooter and the death of Seth Rich, the feds wanted to hear what shooter wanted to say. Unless they didn’t. Geesh, following politics is hard work these days. A bumpkin from Illinois travels to a DC suburb and mows down a Republican play group for no reason? Yeah, right.

  6. Did I ever mention that my Problem Child attended Evergreen?

    • lyn says:

No. My hubby’s nephew is graduating this year.

      • Jadzia says:

Have you guys talked to him? I’d love to hear what “normal” students there think about all of this.

        • Jadzia says:

I wish I could edit my posts. Anyway, I am curious about non-activist Evergreen students’ views. Last year, the university where I work was shut down on and off for the better part of a semester after our building was occupied in protest over an employment-law reform. (Our building houses the humanities faculty, mostly. What does this have to do with employment law? Nothing!)

Anyway, there was tons of media attention (this was happening at universities all over the country) that made it look like this was a mass student movement. Now I don’t know what was going on at other universities, but the truth about what was happening at mine was that there was a small “strike committee” dominated by NON-STUDENTS that had an unannounced “vote” late at night about whether to occupy the building, that even under those conditions barely passed. Every student I talked to about it (and I was teaching something like 300 kids that semester) was PISSED. The administration capitulated to the “occupiers” even though in reality, they really didn’t represent much of anyone who was actually a student here! Postscript: our building was trashed, we fixed it up and then it was vandalized, and my first time back after all that nonsense we ended up evacuated because of some little jerry-can of gas that was put on the tram tracks outside the building. It was lovely.

So I’m curious about what the students who aren’t hogging the cameras at Evergreen think of all this.

    • Jadzia says:

Is that the Family Secret, myiq? I am shocked and disgusted by this whole thing at Evergreen. That said, if you’re going on national TV to announce that you’ve moved, I guess I do wonder a tiny bit how scared you really are.

That said, the events of this morning make me think that perhaps I should re-examine my position, because clearly the Left has gone beyond the mere throwing of temper tantrums.

    • gram krakka says:

My son-in-law’s younger brother graduated from Evergreen. Think he was a theater major. He and his vegan wife and two kids will be visiting us in Texas in late July. Their parents will be here too. My daughter and I will have to duct tape our mouths shut to keep from responding when they launch into TDS.

      • Jadzia says:

Well, you could always tell them you’ve converted to the gospel of “Negative Population Growth” and you can’t believe that they are destroying our environment by spawning. (Outside the kids’ hearing, OF COURSE.)

      • AFVet says:

Let the conspiracy theories began, media, Dem’s, Trump haters.
The left and Dem’s have been spewing hate ever since Trump was elected.

    • lateblum says:

Just finished a conversation with my neighbor. She was subscribing to the “everybody on the Right is sick and threatening to me/us — especially Trump”. I finally said tell me one thing – Just One Thing that Trump or the Right has done to incur this kind of wrath and violence.Of course, she couldn’t. Then she said that “people were ALWAYS hanging obama in effigy and slandering his family”. So I then challenged that, asking her what happened that I never heard of anyone “getting away with” making hateful comments or threats against obama or his family. She couldn’t do that. Now she “doesn’t have time” to find anything to corroborate her accusations even though I provided specific evidence to support the consequences that followed anything overtly anti-obama.
These people (Trump haters, Dems, msm-types) are seriously tunnel-visioned and delusional.

      • blowme0bama says:

      • mothy67 says:

It’s surreal. They make this stuff up in their heads. Thus far today my email is empty. I usually have at least two spats by noon.. they can’t justify what took place today so they go silent.
I could stand to lose 75% of my old friends. 25% are in my heart. I felt like I was at least getting them to evaluate. Give me one verifiable thing to hate Trump. None can. The deportation for DUI s falls flat. Easy to get them to cave on that. I don’t have an attorney trained brain but even I can make them trip all over that.
My oldest and dearest friend’s husband is running for office. We battle but stay on agreed terms. She thought I was joking when I came out for Trump early on. She didn’t get it. She worked for David Bowie and did the ten years in NY bit but she has love for blue collar. Her husband is running. Shooting politicians is not a good thing. Ever I know they were practicing at an obscene hour. Really 5 am????? I don’t even think thats a real time. I guess a sane person can get up at 4 and be somewhere by 5. Not me I need at least three hours to leave the house. Anyhow if the dims do not come out vehemently against this anyone, everyone can be a target. A local politico can be walking his kid to the bus. Kid could get hurt.
I think it was about two years ago I watched Aquarius. I was born in 67 so watching some of that and subsequently reading Susan Atkins and some Manson stuff was mind blowing. They wanted a race war. The mini series was not good but it made me think. I see many parallels to today. The obama cult is like a late 60’s early 70’s hangover. The left seems hell bent on tearing down tradition. I was not alive when June Cleaver greeted Ward with a kiss at the door in heels and a tasteful dress. I have no clue what was real from that era. Academia seems to hate recent history with a passion. Student loans have become such a sham. In a way every professor is sucking on the teat. Country is so bad how do you have two homes as a part time teacher.
Yesterday at tae kwon do baby girl declared she was going to Purdue. It is my first choice. There were only three students. Its summer and they keep same hours. TKD for me is a commitment to my little girl. It is about me standing with her and beside her. Anywho the one and only teacher has his daughters at California U of PA. Tuition plus housing is almost the same as Purdue out of state with housing. My nephew went to Cal U housing is nuts more than or at least close to tuition. Purdue still offers dorms. 3800 a year.

Crazy NBC. Did they give her 100% decision-making in who her interviewees would be?
If they did, then they really have to live with that clause in her contract. If they did not, they have to ask “Who was giving her the OKAY to interview people that now are objectionable to them”.

    • DandyTIger says:

Alex Jones is certainly a nut job and a questionable interview, but so are lots on the left NBC routinely has on the air. Apparently the NBC kids have been triggered.

      • mothy67 says:

She is not warm. Think about what oprah was and before her Phil Donahue. Oprah was/is smart but flawed. Her up and down weight was endearing. Donahue was a straight gay guy talking to women about feelings in the afternoon. Its like The Five it fit late afternoon. I can’t stomach it at 9. Its not an end of day show. I think Megyn rose too fast at FOX. She is a classic beauty and seemed out of place in the afternoon with Hemmer. She was crowned golden girl. I think she needed more time without being center stage. I wonder if same will happen with Tucker. He can’t do gotcha everynight. I like him but its feeling old.
Every station is looking for oprah. Need a lead in for local news. Its where money is made. They have tried dozens since Oprah. I think it is so obvious. Joanna from HGTV. Katie Couric got 20 million for her flop, but I heard the cost was I think for CBS close to 40 million. I never got the attraction to her.
I love love love Joanna. She is everything you want mid day. All my brothers watch her. Does anyone not like her? Chip is great but she is the star.

        • Constance says:

I love Joanna too! I want my house to have the Johanna vibe and being newly divorced there is no one to get in my way! I’m working on the living room and I’m planning to gut the kitchen.

ABC News is reporting the same thing. Sounds like it’s true. How awful.

      • lateblum says:

This is worrisome. I hope it’s something that can be addressed and not a true crisis.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

All the local news outlets are reporting critical condition – evidently update from Medstar medical staff.

I have been getting constant blips on my phone/tablet all day. In fact, I brought my tablet to work because it is easier to read and I wanted to stay informed.

This is also my Dad’s birthday. He would have been over a 100 – and passed 30 years ago – but it still a special day. Not what I wanted to have wake me up in the early hours of the morning as the blips were constant – you knew something was going down.

    • mcnorman says:

He lost a lot of blood…they said he had been transfused. That certainly is not good news. Hope his heart and the rest of him is up to the task of getting him past the hump. It’s a mother of hit to take at any age but harder as you get past 25.

    • lateblum says:

This is why it took me only a few months in 2007-2008 to start and then stop FB. I couldn’t tolerate the over-the-top worship of bronco bama that flooded my FB page/wall/whatever it’s called. And that was very early in 2008.

      • mothy67 says:

I quit years ago for same reason. No regrets.

      • Jadzia says:

Half of my friends were subscribed to that stupid “I Love When I Wake Up In the Morning and Obama is President” group, I had no idea I knew so many idiots until Facebook came along.

        • DeniseVB says:

I can’t understand that either. Didn’t Obama’s failed race baiting, cop hating policies affect them too? How safe do they feel since he threw gas on the ISIS fires? It’s not just ideology where the differences are, it’s stupidity.

It certainly does feel like we are in the midst of an Uncivil War, doesn’t it? What a trying time! Posted this on my FB page this morning.
    The Divided States of Amerika
    There is a choice.
Since no one seems to get along any more with those who disagree with them or who are different than them or who believe differently than they do, let’s just get it on and create the Divided States of Amerika.
Groups can all “self-identify” and decide what group they want to be with and they can have their own state. We’ll have a state for same gender, same religion, same color, same economic status, same sexual proclivity, same political party, same ethnicity, same PhD’s, same drugs and so on.
We could accommodate lots of groups that want to be by themselves as we have 50 states and we’ll throw in Puerto Rico as well. Which state each group gets will be chosen by lottery. That way every single-minded, biased, entrenched group can go their own way and be with their own kind and not have to be bothered by people they don’t like or don’t want to be with. They can decide on their own leadership, laws, punishments and their own way to take care of each other.
Very simple and straight forward…with a simple motto: We hate you, leave us alone!
Those of us who grew up in the 60’s fighting for diversity and marching against segregation and those kind of social issues will just have to understand that, as a country, we no longer can tolerate those ideas, and we’ll just have to go our own way. We’ll just have to have our own, small, out-of-the-way, state, too.
Any new state attacking another state or being aggressive toward another state or showing overt hatred toward another state will be dealt with by Mr. Klaatu and Gort.
It’s time to embrace the new reality.

    • CiscoKid says:

While some may disagree, it is quite possible, as remote as it may seem, that may be a answer to our dilemma.
      Color me crazy.

I never thought about this, but many of you probably do not get storms. I take them for granted. We get many. I love sitting on my porch or in the attic. Rain comes down so hard its like music. Thunder. I would say not much lightening but as we lost a tree and a shed in a small yard that seems ridiculous. It is nature at its purest. This is third day with major storms. Pup was at pool all day. Didn’t change until after 5. I love it. We are near Appalachia if not at the foot and lake Erie is close. I would assume it effects weather. Its the thunder. I love that earth shaking sound. I have lived in West Lafayette, Philly, London and New York. You get rain but not these thunder storms. Shame kid the elder of votermom extraction has her eldest at home we are having a beauty as I type. Incredible is the thunder.

Congressman Steve Scalise sustained a single rifle shot to the left hip. The bullet travelled across his pelvis, fracturing bones, injuring internal organs, and causing severe bleeding. He was transported in shock to MedStar Washington Hospital Center, a Level I Trauma Center. He underwent immediate surgery, and an additional procedure to stop bleeding. He has received multiple units of blood transfusion. His condition is critical, and he will require additional operations. We will provide periodic updates.

Without me, my rifle is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will…
My rifle and I know that what counts in war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit…
My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will keep my rifle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will…
Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and I are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.

The only thing the MSM and “Resistance” care about is money. All of the sturm and drang is over money or rather who gets to allocate, collect, or steal it. I’m writing a list of ways to cut off their supply to send to my congressman. Number one is a la carte cable. The progressive loon media is funded by shitty regulations that let cable companies extort money to finance that crap. The ads help too but they wouldn’t have any ads if no one had to pay for that mess on their cable line-up. Next is anti-trust the tech companies. They law-fare their competition out of business. They can’t be our feudal overlords without monopolies. Bust them. Revolutions start over monopolies historically that were handed out to the elite to drain the population of resources as extortion. The DOJ getting out of the extortion of business racket set up by Obama, Holder and Preet Bharara (Comey’s other crooked pal) is a good start. Cut off their money and they got what they fear most.

      • taw46 says:

The assailant was shot and killed by security officers with legal guns in order to protect others who were also being fired upon…that’s what transpired…Why is that so difficult to understand?

I don’t care how bad that last season was, and I don’t care how BSC Roseanne has become, I WILL STILL BE THERE. Because Dan Conner is still my fantasy dad and I still love me some Darlene and hope she will be in it.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

I admit I never really liked the oldest daughter ( either one). I loved Dan (but then I really like John Goodman in just about anything) and the rest of the family worked well including the mom and sister. One of my favorite episodes was when they did the spoof of a 50s show. So many shows try that plot device but few pull it off as well.

        • Jadzia says:

I think Original Becky was supposed to be unlikeable; she was certainly written that way, and I thought Lecy Goransen did a great job even though like you, I didn’t like the character! But the “Becky farted” episode was one of my favorites. When Crystal brought her the condolence card!

      • DeniseVB says:

They ended it with Dan dead. The entire last season was surreal, winning the lottery and stuff. Last ep was Roseanne turning the lights off and claiming it was all her imagination to deal with his death. I remember doing a poll years ago about which tv family you’d like to grow up in, I chose the Connors over the Cosbys and Father Knows Best 😀

        • Mt.Laurel says:

With my work schedule and commute I caught only a few each season in its first run. I not know Dan dies until I caught it on a rerun. It took me a long time to watch the show again.

I knew so many people who had the couch with the afghan that looked pretty much just like the one in the Conners’ living room.

It’s hard to find one link that sums up, but here’s what I’ve gathered about the victims:
    shot –
    Rep Steve Scalise
    Matt Mika (Tyson Foods lobbyist)
    Zach Barth (staffer)
Crystal Griner (Capitol police shot in ankle)

    injured –
David Bailey (Capitol police treated & released)
Rep Mike Williamson (injured jumping into dugout)

Joe Barton (whose son was with him) looks like he had a nervous breakdown. That is not a criticism. His kid is traumatized. You have to think why would anyone take their kid to that shithole of DC. So I would consider him a casualty too although the Progs see it as a win I’m sure with fair game rules including children.

      • mothy67 says:

I was just running through my head about the kid. What world does he now live in. His life will be forever different. That has to haunt a child. Maybe all the proggy, arty, farty Streep types can use their oh so much higher developed empathy abilities and spend 5 minutes imagining what the 10 year old boy felt and saw. To what end. This man accomplished nothing. Trump has committed no great sin. No one can tell me anything he has done that one could deem offensive.
I hope this lad is removed from DC to process this with a pro. Washington shrinks are fucked up.

They did this during several demonstrations in NYC too. I don’t think they used nails, but I know they used sticks and whips and even their fists to beat the police horses.

The word ‘sick’ is getting tiresome, but I can’t think of a more appropriate description of someone who could do this to a horse.

Antifa member uses flagpole with nail to attack police horse

Police in Pennsylvania’s state capital said a member of the leftist antifa group known for assaulting supporters of Republican President Donald Trump at rallies across the country was arrested after using a flagpole with a silver nail at the top to hit a state trooper’s horse in the neck at a demonstration Saturday.

Everybody wants a snack after the attempted murder of their boss. /s Were they 5 buck specials? Anybody from that asshole crew think to say sorry we are such dickheads? No? How about you take these pizzas and ….. And the doofs from The Hill reported it like it was an act of mercy now requiring sainthood.

It sounds like the Special Counsel team is now leaking things to the press just like Comey and his people leaked before them. Now with leaks saying Trump is under criminal investigation. Kind of reminds me of ISIS. They’re at war with us whether we’re at war with them or not. I hope someone in the administration is taking notes.

Saw a tweet Scalise was investigating child trafficking. Not sure if true, but I am now inclined to go full Alex Jones. I am going to buy a white board and play Glen Beck the home version. I think the left has no morals. When they become animated about anything they show true colors hypocrisy. As long as I live I will not understand how Tim Kaine does not freak people out. He makes me physically upset his image is worse than obamas voice which makes me puke.

    • Somebody says:

In response to the shooting house minority leader Steny Hoyer sent pizzas to Scalise’s office, hmmm…….be sure to get a really big board or better yet just cover an entire wall to ensure you have enough room!

Last night on *Tucker Carlson I saw Mark Steyn call out the “Resistance” from the left. It was stirring and touching and as truthful as anything I’ve seen. I’ve been looking for the video for the past many minutes and haven’t found it. I have to leave now for an early dentist appointment, so I’m begging you all to find it and post it.
He was on fire and the idea of a movement called “resistance” is galling to him as his mother was a child in Belgium and lived in complete fear for her life and the lives of everyone she knew. So, just like in France, Belgium had its own resistance movement in order to stay alive. Mark is calling this a wrongful appropriation of the word and its meaning because the left lost an election.
*I don’t watch Tucker as a rule (anymore) and the repeat was on when I was going to sleep. (My guardian angel knew I was supposed to see it.) I hope y’all get to see it as well.

Are all of these comatose children female? It kind of looks like the immigrants put up the family member they value least to do the performance. Also letting in refugee girls and women is one thing. Letting in males 15 to 45 from hostile cultures is just stupid. You are importing a hostile army.

    • DeniseVB says:

I wonder if anyone in hollywood is suffering from being too political.
Other than Melissa McCarthy doing Spicer I can’t think of anything funny I have seen that strikes me as fresh. Modern Family and Big Bang feel tired to me. I am not boycotting netflix. My card expired. So much of the original programming has a political bent. I just can’t be bothered to register a new card. I’ll likely drop HBO after GoT. There isn’t that much interesting. They also throw in a healthy dash of leftism. I just want to be amused.
Was it always like this and I agreed or ignored. I find it insufferable. There is a dig at Trump all the time.

    • DeniseVB says:

Yeah, I hear ya. Ever since TBS threw Two Broke Girls (I find annoying) to replace the Modern Family reruns, haven’t seen much of the MF lately. TBBT characters of Amy and Howard went creepy leftist supporting anti-Trump messages in real life. Plus, TBS keeps tooting the Samantha Bee show, which I find so annoying. My once very funny channel seems to have jumped the shark.

A lot of it seems mean spirited and juvenile. My observation is that the women seem worse. Chelsea Handler, joyless behar, sarah silverman. I just hear ugly. Maybe I’m sexist but abortion is not funny to me.
I have been wondering today how I can touch base with life long friends who think dims are good rethugs are nazis. They seem so blind by rhetoric. We have been friends for 30 years. I see the very far left as having little difference with isis. Just like moderate muslims need to speak out so do moderate dims. There was a 10 year old boy at the ballpark. I know many involved in politics on both sides of the aisle. I found out from twitter and here there was a kid with his dad. Not news station.
At this point watching people I love be so blinded by irrational hate I would welcome something Donald did that was monstrous. I could then grasp why they are all freaking out all the time. .I know people that have doubled meds because of Trump. What has he done that warrants doubling of seroquel????? Sounds harsh but everyone I know over 50 who is not poor takes something. Poor people just get drunk.
