EXCLUSIVE – Work hard(ly), play hard: Chelsea Clinton and unemployed husband Marc Mezvinsky enjoy a sunny stroll in the Hamptons on weekend vacation

    • DeniseVB says:

With all his free time, Marc’y-Marc needs to hit the gym. Getting a little paunchy there. See, I can be nice, didn’t pick on Chels 😀

    • Jadzia says:

The thought of paying for my unemployed husbands vacation gives me a rage stroke, but probably I should be discussing that with a professional.

I’m told that Texas A&M and Baylor are full of new Missouri student kids. They like them as they have money and are nice. Agriculture and Baptists are two things Texas and Missouri have in common.

    • DeniseVB says:

Mizzou definitely needs more muscle now 😀

      • Lulu says:

The money is going to be yanked from the football team. LOL. The SEC will kick them out if they shrink. All that football team protesting to be a nothing-burger football school with few piddling athletic scholarships. Since the media worked overtime to hide how awful the Black Lives Matters stuff was it goes to show that word of mouth for college kids matters a lot.

Had an odd culture clash at my inlaws before Thanksgiving. An LSU game was on – which as an Ole Miss Alumni, I despise more than any other team. I keep my mouth shut. Anyway, Orgeron had been Ole Miss’s coach about 5 years back. I don’t really follow college football at all because it’s a losing proposition when you follow Ole Miss. So, they are talking about their interim coach who was appointed after Les Miles was fired and called him “Or-jer-aw”. I’m like puzzled because I was pretty certain they got Ole Miss’s old fired coach, then I realized it was a pronunciation. Light bulb flashes and I say, “OH, Or-ger-on!!”. “Yes!”.

We’re waiting for some lobster shell to pass. Who knew lobster would be a dog magnet?

      • votermom says:

are you doing the bread too?

        • elliesmom says:

I’m giving her bread and making sure she’s passing her poop easily. Ellie has eaten a plastic bag and passed it before. The only issue with the lobster shell is it’s sharp. Hopefully, she chewed it up well before she swallowed. I caught her running around with a leg in her mouth. That part wouldn’t hurt her. I don’t know how much of the claw she might have eaten, if any. She had done a good job of cracking it up to get was left. It’s been a few days since she ate it so I’m less worried. She got it out of the trash when I was packing the car up to go to the dump.

          • votermom says:

She might even be able to digest some of the shell.
Rizal ate a baby wipe a couple of weeks ago. I don’t even know if he ever passed it because I don’t do all his poop walks and no one else poke thru poop.

          • DeniseVB says:

vm – usually the first sign of something not passing would be a very uncomfortable pup, bloating, attempting to poop or vomit with no results. My springer spaniels loved raiding the laundry room (“who left the laundry room door open again!!??”) and eating the crotches out of underwear (I know, ew, right?). Mostly it just produced the most colorful poopies 😉 Though my favorite is when one ate a Barbie doll and found that the poop looked like that pile of the girl’s remains in the Jaws opening.

I had a doxie swallow a grease coated lava rock from the gas grill. It didn’t pass, but she became bloated (hard, swollen belly) and she was obviously uncomfortable. Rushed her to the vet, he said it was a “back problem” which doxies are prone to and wanted to prescibe some pain meds. I knew my dog, “uhm, no” please take an x-ray, let’s be sure.

Behold, the lava rock was discovered, not being able to pass out of her stomach, she went right into surgery, and it saved her life. I still have that rock in a bio-hazard bag after all these years (R.I.P Lucy) hoping one day to have it made into a freaking $800 necklace 😀

      • foxyladi14 says:

    • Locked-N-Loaded says:

Wonderful news!! My dogs have always eaten larger things like socks or the squeaker from a toy and the vet always had me give them peroxide to vomit, and that worked every time.

Terrible fires. I hope everyone stays safe.

Wildfires Spread Across at Least Six States and Canada

Wildfires rolled across dry terrain in the Western United States and through a region of Canada, fueled by lightning, whipping winds and temperatures in the triple digits that have fanned the flames across parched lands.

The National Weather Service early on Monday issued red flag warnings, signaling critical conditions over the next 24 hours, for regions in at least six states. In some areas, firefighters have been battling fires for a week, trying to keep them from spreading across roads and churning through dry vegetation near populated areas.

I’m a Pediatrician. How Transgender Ideology Has Infiltrated My Field and Produced Large-Scale Child Abuse

    Portrait of Michelle Cretella
    Michelle Cretella
Michelle Cretella, M.D., is president of the American College of Pediatricians, a national organization of pediatricians and other health care professionals dedicated to the health and well-being of children.
Transgender politics have taken Americans by surprise, and caught some lawmakers off guard.

Just a few short years ago, not many could have imagined a high-profile showdown over transgender men and women’s access to single-sex bathrooms in North Carolina.

But transgender ideology is not just infecting our laws. It is intruding into the lives of the most innocent among us—children—and with the apparent growing support of the professional medical community.

As explained in my 2016 peer reviewed article, “Gender Dysphoria in Children and Suppression of Debate,” professionals who dare to question the unscientific party line of supporting gender transition therapy will find themselves maligned and out of a job.

Americans need an alternative to the mainstream media. But this can’t be done alone. Find out more >>

I speak as someone intimately familiar with the pediatric and behavioral health communities and their practices. I am a mother of four who served 17 years as a board certified general pediatrician with a focus in child behavioral health prior to leaving clinical practice in 2012.

For the last 12 years, I have been a board member and researcher for the American College of Pediatricians, and for the last three years I have served as its president.

I also sat on the board of directors for the Alliance for Therapeutic Choice and Scientific Integrity from 2010 to 2015. This organization of physicians and mental health professionals defends the right of patients to receive psychotherapy for sexual identity conflicts that is in line with their deeply held values based upon science and medical ethics.

I have witnessed an upending of the medical consensus on the nature of gender identity. What doctors once treated as a mental illness, the medical community now largely affirms and even promotes as normal.

Here’s a look at some of the changes.

    The New Normal

Pediatric “gender clinics” are considered elite centers for affirming children who are distressed by their biological sex. This distressful condition, once dubbed gender identity disorder, was renamed “gender dysphoria” in 2013.

In 2014, there were 24 of these gender clinics, clustered chiefly along the east coast and in California. One year later, there were 40 across the nation.

With 215 pediatric residency programs now training future pediatricians in a transition-affirming protocol and treating gender-dysphoric children accordingly, gender clinics are bound to proliferate further.

Last summer, the federal government stated that it would not require Medicare and Medicaid to cover transition-affirming procedures for children or adults because medical experts at the Department of Health and Human Services found the risks were often too high, and the benefits too unclear.

Undeterred by these findings, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health has pressed ahead, claiming—without any evidence—that these procedures are “safe.”

Two leading pediatric associations—the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Pediatric Endocrine Society—have followed in lockstep, endorsing the transition affirmation approach even as the latter organization concedes within its own guidelines that the transition-affirming protocol is based on low evidence.

They even admit that the only strong evidence regarding this approach is its potential health risks to children.

Thank you doctor, for spelling it out, clearly and succinctly.
Read the whole thing, it is worth it. These drugs that sterilize CHILDREN are being prescribed routinely.

    • Lulu says:

Are they purposely sterilizing what can be described as the mentally ill? This has been done repeatedly through history and described and rationalized as a kindness. It is eugenics.

      • swanspirit says:

They don’t seem to care that sterilization is a by product of transgender “treatment” The actual welfare of the child is secondary (if that) to political correctness. I am going to venture an educated guess here, and say that a large part of what is driving these folks is something akin to sex addiction, along with gender identity disorder.
I saw that same kind of thing in the BDSM crowd (this is my opinion only), that folks who wanted BDSM to be a normal and accepted thing, and in the pagan community, an actual spiritual path. And anyone who objected, was attacked and vilified. I got thrown out of plenty of pagan forums way back when, for expressing the opinion, that heavy BDSM as a lifestyle, was not a spiritual path, and was not going to be accepted by the mainstream, predominant culture. And same as now, there could be no debate, they just shut you up, and shut you down.
So now, if you object to anything trans, you are immediately a bigot and a homophone, even if your objection includes protecting children, and women.

      • elliesmom says:

I remember when one of my mom’s friends was euphoric when her son decided to become a priest and her daughter a nun. Mom was horrified it hadn’t occurred to this woman that she would never have any grandchildren. But the woman was only thinking about what a magnificent gift she was giving to the church. There may be a few eugenicists in the medical community who see sterilization as a kindness, but in this case, it’s the parents of the kids who should have been sterilized. Like my mom’s friend, sacrificing your child to your religious beliefs, in this case the religion of transgenderism, is a spiritual experience.

        • Lulu says:

They are not thinking of the children at all. It is about them. I’ve had similar experiences with “sports” parents. They never think about the kid with ruined knees or missed academics that were all spent in football, baseball, basketball practice and games every blooming spare second of their childhoods or adolescence. They push, push, push and have an injured young adult or one who is behind and struggling academically or drops out in college. And telling children they are “something” that they obviously are NOT is so cruel.

I am so glad my kids are getting older. When my now 17 year old was 3, he liked to imitate me putting on my makeup. I asked a shrink about it, and she said it was totally normal and was probably about liking to spend time with me. And he grew up to be totally normal. It freaks me out to think what kind of advice I would get if that conversation had happened today.

There has been a spate of op-eds over the last few days about what Democrats can do to win white working class voters back to their party. Some of the ideas are silly like suggesting bringing civics classes back into the school. That would create more conservatives not fewer if civics is what they really taught. Another suggestion is to stop treating white working class voters like you despise them. That’s hard to do when conservatives know you really do. It seems perfectly clear to me what they need to do. Stop being the party of the aggrieved, especially since Democrats believe white working class voters are responsible for all that aggrieves Democrats. You can’t be a political party that represents both sides, and they chose. If they can’t even resolve conflicts between different groups of the perpetually aggrieved, how are they going to mediate between them and the source of their grievances? Sometimes you just have to choose a side and stick with it no matter what it costs or admit you’re wrong.

    • nerdle says:

The Dem party is still filled with Clinton and Obama democrats who don’t have the ability to admit their faults. If those recent bumper stickers prove anything, it’s that they’re doubling down on the whole identity politics mess.

They’re us. WE BE BAD. We’re the baddest-assed sons of bitches that ever jogged in Reeboks. We’re three-quarters grizzly bear and two-thirds car wreck and descended from a stock market crash on our mother’s side. You take your Germany, France, and Spain, roll them all together and it wouldn’t give us room to park our cars. We’re the big boys, Jack, the original, giant, economy-sized, new and improved butt kickers of all time. When we snort coke in Houston, people lose their hats in Cap d’Antibes. And we’ve got an American Express card credit limit higher than your piss-ant metric numbers go. You say our country’s never been invaded? You’re right, little buddy. – P J O’Rourke

    • CiscoKid says:

Imho, America has and will never be invaded because if memory serves me, at last count there are 60 million, plus or minus armed Americans sitting on about a billion rounds of ammo.
Military, ex-military, patriots, cops, fire-fighters, crossing guards and a fine mix of crazy sob’s.
Really, does anyone think we’re just let an invader walk in the front door and take over America?
In that event, the victor will be the one who fires the last round, and I believe that will be fired by some moonshiner up in the hills somewhere.
Mr. O’Rouke hit this one out of the park.
