  1. Scanning the headlines. Nothing but #FakeNews.

    • DeniseVB says:

I haven’t watched or read news-news (even FBN) since last Friday. Usually the links I find here are the most informative 🙂 Just a mental break from the droning of Russia/Healthcare/blah/blah/blah for awhile. Twitter and FB are my alternative news sources for now 😀

    • Anthony says:

I know. It totally ruined my guilty pleasure (ripping CNN a new one on FB) because it’s become so commonplace. Today I just quit after 4 or 5 half-hearted swipes. But, to my credit, they were pretty brutal swipes. “If its worth doing, it’s worth doing well”

    • DeniseVB says:

Are we sure Milo isn’t the bastard son of Howard Stern? LOL, the use of porn stars certainly screams of Stern DNA.

This explains his B&N dig in this speech. Well worth the 30 minutes……

    • Mt.Laurel says:

Was this before this past weekend? Or is it just in brick and mortar stores? Because you can buy it online at B & N in both hardcover and as a nook book. I have a few dollars credit from the suit over ebook prices and I have been looking at books where it would make a bit of a dent in the price and put Sharyl’s Smear on my saved list after reading several exceprts. I did notice that Milo’s is in the top 200 for B & N, The top 100 for apple’s Ibook and the top 5 at Amazon.

  2. Lulu says:

Killer cop says he shot Justine Damond because he was ‘startled’ by her when she ran towards his car in the dark after loud noise – and had no idea she was 911 caller

Dear lord. Now we know why the mayor, police chief, etc are trying to hide the fact that they did everything possible to “assimilate” a completely unsuitable guy into the PD. This cop had broken numerous rules, had multiple complaints including a lawsuit file against him and some other cops for excessive force on July 14, and the “cop” in the car driving with him is a “community officer” who is in training and paid for parttime work.

    • Lulu says:

The community officer link. They are in school and basically flunkies.

    • helenk3 says:

I still do not understand why they went into the alley with NO lights and NO body cams on.
I know they were there supposedly answering the call but is it usual to go in with NO lights or body cams on?

      • Lulu says:

They can and do if a crime is suspected to be in progress. Without dash and body cams? Absolutely not. That is primo evidence. There is also all kinds of conflicting info about how much or how little the Minneapolis police use their body cams. Our local yokels cops have them on always except when in the police station or going to the bathroom. They even have them on in restaurants on break. It is supposedly expensive to keep that much data but it is lawsuit insurance and keeps them polite and friendly. I suspect Minneapolis has another reason of some kind and I thought Minneapolis was a rich high tax city.

        • Mt.Laurel says:

Yes, the no lights is not that uncommon under certain conditions. They might also have the radio turned down and sirens off. But no body cams – this is exactly the type of scenario they are meant for — making sure the cops have their asses covered.

      • 1539days says:

The problem is that the body cams are turned on by the cops themselves. In the case of an ambush, they wouldn’t have time to use them and if they forget, it would look like they were doing something wrong anyway. Many, if not most of other PDs have them come on automatically.

    • DeniseVB says:

I read that fireworks were in the area? Somali cop was triggered by that? Jeebus media. Has it been 48 hours yet? So far, the only reports I’ve read in the msm seem to be making excuses for the trigger happy cop. Where was THIS media when Darren Wilson’s head was put on a pike ?

      • Lulu says:

I don’t think this guy was suited to be a cop in any way. He had multiple complaints, he was jumpy and afraid, and now it looks like he is blaming a woman who was trying to potentially help someone being raped. She called TWICE because they wouldn’t come during a sexual assault in progress. Imagine listening to that going on and how distressing it would be. He obviously has zero empathy on why she was out there, upset and coming towards the cop car. In the lawsuit filed last Friday he (and others cops) are pissy and strong-arming a woman who won’t stop calling 911 so they say she is crazy. She had a reason to call even if the cops didn’t like it.

        • taw46 says:

Remember, he still hasn’t talked with investigators and doesn’t have to. His “story” is coming from his friends. He is requesting privacy. Bs.

      • Anthony says:

It takes more than fireworks to spook a Somali. Something else is up.

    • taw46 says:

They were responding to a possible rape, and he shoots a woman running toward the car? As someone said, why didn’t he shine a flashlight out the window, shout halt? What really gets me is he shot a gun across his partner’s face out the window?!!! Wtf.

      • taw46 says:

The first report said the woman was talking to the driver when Noor shot her. Now, his friends say she was running toward the car. His partner is lucky he wasn’t killed. And what is this bs that he won’t talk to the investigators?

I also don’t understand why 911 didn’t keep her on the phone. I’ve had to call 911 a couple of times in the past and they kept me on the phone until the police arrived.

He is now the victim, since he is a Somali Muslim.

      • DeniseVB says:

So many holes in this story. Yet MSM is doing their best to help the this cop, but not all the others under Obama?

        • Anthony says:

Unarmed woman reports rape, then shot and killed by cop. Where are the feminists?

Can we all just stop pretending we’re not thinking about the obvious?

          • Constance says:

I feel like the Somali cop considered a rape call to be a nuisance call, didn’t like a woman demanding he do something to help and so he shot her. Or he was somehow also involved in the rape, but I hate thinking that.

          • Anthony says:

Somalia is also on terrorist watch list. #FortHood comes to mind

          • Constance says:

Whatever happened The Powers That Be are clearly covering up but as usual what people are imagining is the worst. If the reality wasn’t that bad they wouldn’t bother to cover it up.

        • taw46 says:

I like to wait for facts to come out, but in this case, looks like we won’t get them since Noor has declined to talk to investigators. And they can’t compel him to do so.

    • AFVet says:

I think the mayor’s security team should consist of Somali immigrants.
      She should set an example.

    • lyn says:

“Yet while there have been vigils for Damond, they are nowhere near the same scale as other incidents of alleged police brutality.
“Instead, some of the same institutions which have previously gone to bat for campaigns against police brutality are now more concerned about a potential backlash against the Somali/Muslim community than they are about truth and justice.
“There is no reason the ethnicity of the police officer should change the narrative, if the narrative is that the police have a brutality problem.”

Just reported, McCain diagnosed with brain cancer.

  7. Dora says:

    • votermom says:

Awful. I hate his RINO ness but cancer sucks.

      • cynic says:

Me too. A very close Aunt to us died yesterday from Stage 4 lung cancer. She lived less than two months after the diagnosis. She was a non-smoker.

        • lateblum says:

I am so very sorry for the loss of your Aunt, cynic. I hope her suffering was manageable.

          • cynic says:

Thank you. She was from a small family, had just one child, a son, so they were always invited to our family birthdays and holidays. She also helped my MIL watch our twins when they were babies, on that rare occasion that we needed a sitter.

          • lateblum says:

It’s tough to lose someone who has meant so much. ❤

        • Island Girl says:

Had a co-workers 8 year old going through treatment for months pass away yesterday…just a nasty disease. Hugs Aunt Cynic

      • Venus says:

Agreed. He’s an ass, but this news is terrible. His mom is 105 — this will take a heavy toll on her as well. Pray for strength for whole family.

        • lateblum says:

I was listening to a report about his diagnosis an hour or so ago. What I heard is that due to his age (80) there is a very small <10% chance of successful treatment for this type of cancer. That's too bad.

        • Island Girl says:

Very sad, one of his homes is right around the corner from my elderly parents. Prayers…cruised through the neighborhood over the Thanksgiving weekend.

        • foxyladi14 says:

Amen, We just wanted him to retire, And enjoy his Golden Years. ❤

    • lyn says:

A family friend was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer in December. He only had one chemo treatment and stopped. He died in May. Brain cancer is brutal.

    • Constance says:

I agree and I’m sorry he has to go through this. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
The Republicans have a very narrow majority so now what? Will he resign? Will there be a special election or will another Republican be appointed to take his place? I was going to say does this mean the Senate does nothing until he dies in office however they haven’t accomplished anything recently so I guess that would be just more of the SOS.

  8. Venus says:

    Best political cartoon yet:

  9. swanspirit says:

Unfuckingbelievable. There will be more, I know it.

The investigation into female genital mutilation (FGM) in Michigan has now spread to five other states after authorities identified possible new defendants.

The lawyer for Dr. Jumana Nagarwala, the woman charged with performing FGM on numerous girls, disclosed this information in new court documents “to show the complexity of the case and explain why” the court should release her client “from jail to prepare for trial.

Nagarwala insists she did not mutilate any child and “only removed membranes from the girls’ genitals as part of a custom tied to a sect of Muslims from India to which she belongs, the Dawoodi Bohra.”

  10. DeniseVB says:

Whoa……I know how tough this is, lost my Dad and a sister to brain cancer, the diagnosis was the hardest part, then it was a matter of months. 😦

    • Lulu says:

So when is he going to think of his constituents and the men and women of the armed services of which he is the chairman of their committee. As a public servant he needs to think of someone besides himself and his family. Resign now and go take care of yourself Senator McCain and best wishes to you and yours.

    • Constance says:

That is a really nice tribute. I used to consider Meghan an airhead but she is interesting to watch on Outnumbered.

  11. Dora says:

    Ryan has to be replaced!

  12. Dora says:

What an exciting day that was!

    • elliesmom says:

i remember it well. I had just graduated from high school, and I was working at summer camp. We had the girls in the dining hall to watch. Back then the astronauts were bigger role models than pop stars. We all knew the names of the original astronauts and had a favorite just like having a favorite Beatle.

    • helenk3 says:

to me this was an amazing thing. To think we had come so far that we could go to the moon!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I grew up thinking space travel was science fiction. Buck Rodgers movies . And America my country really did it. I can not describe the pride and a joy of that day

National Enquirer says evil Hilary framed Trump with Russia

  14. Lulu says:

“This is an unbelievable situation that a person who called 911 is shot in her pajamas,” Bennett said.
Bennett, who has handled many high profile police shooting cases, says the shooting of Justine Damond stands apart.
“She obviously was not armed, she was not a threat to anyone nor could she have reasonably been perceived to be,” he said.”

The family wants cops to use their body cams and this officer to be FIRED. Not unreasonable at all. Minneapolis is going to have to pay an ass-bleed level settlement.

    • Lulu says:

“KILLER cop Mohamed Noor is known in the townhouse complex where his large family lives as quick-tempered, “jumpy” and “extremely nervous”.
…”Forklift driver Chris Miller, 49, has lived next door for the past two years and said he wasn’t surprised to learn Noor was the policeman making international headlines for firing on Ms Damond after she called 911 about what she thought was a sexual assault in the alley behind her house.”
““He is extremely nervous … he is a little jumpy … he doesn’t really respect women, the least thing you say to him can set him off,” Mr Miller said.
“When they say a policeman shot an Australian lady I thought uh, oh but then when they said who it was I was like, ‘OK.’”
The lawsuit filed July 14 by the lady Noor strong armed suggested he didn’t “respect women” either.

  15. Anthony says:

This is not sitting well with me. I can’t imagine why President Trump would mouth off about this to the NYT

    • votermom says:

why is he even talking to the NYT? I hope it’s a trap Trump set or something

      • Anthony says:

I’m hoping the same thing, although I can’t for the life of me figure out how it could work. I’m becoming a huge fan of Sessions, particularly because of his decimating MS 13.

        • votermom says:

I’m sad when Trump & his allies fight. 😦

        • Venus says:

All I can figure is that a lot of ‘conservatives’ had been trashing Sessions pretty badly over his expansion of asset seizure for the last few days & ever since the NYT story those same people are rushing to his defense. So misdirection/distraction?

          • Lulu says:

Yes. Remember Bannon was headed for the scrap pile disgraced. LOL. So was Tillerson and Jared. Now is Jefferson Beauregard’s turn. It is to keep the pea brains in DC all a flutter. The asset forfeiture is to seize some cartel banks or something.

        • Venus says:

2nd theory just came to me –last week DC “Anon” on 4chan (same one that has given scoops before that turned out to be true) posted that Mueller is actually a really good guy & that the hires he’s making will make sense once the truth of what he’s investigating comes out — ie the leaks about Russia, illegal survelliance of Trump campaign by Obama admin. etc.

So maybe Trump is throwing out this carefully worded shade at Sessions to show there is no coordination between DOJ & WH — because we know for a fact that if Mueller starts indicting Susan Rice, Ben Rhodes, Samanatha Powers, etc the MSM is goimg to really flip the fuck out and say Trump influenced the DOJ and special counsel.

Yesterday Rod Rosenthal even said that Mueller isn’t reportimg his ever move to him — there is a lot of show over how ‘independent’ Mueller is lately.

    • lateblum says:

I’m lol thinking about you sitting “white knuckled with my hair sticking up like Don King…”
      Excellent visual. 🤓😄🤓

  16. Anthony says:

Ok – left a comment that posted and then disappeared immediately. Going to try agsin:

This is not sitting well with me. I don’t know why President Trump would mouth off about this to the NYT

I think I told you all my bro got a job with US Steel. He has a useless art degree. Was a boilermaker. He makes very good money when there is work. He made over 180,000 one year and then made 12,000 the next. Alexis is off to college next year. He was afraid about work. I hounded him about applying. He starts next week 22/hour. Less but consistant. That is starting with no overtime. I want to follow midterms. Clairton Works is the second largest coke plant in the world. It was asleep for decades. I have read those jobs were never coming back. Well first hand I am seeing MAGA. I read a blogger who lives in Pittsburgh that works in bio tech belittling the blue collar worker. She has a very delusional sense of self. She is awful. My bro was captain of football team. His hero in yearbook was his gay brother, me. He is a buddhist. He is hard working. All he wants is to provide for his daughter. Earn a wage. Last night I gave him two credit cards. I have 9 months no interest. He has fallen behind. Get caught up and pay. My rents were in tears. I didn’t give money. I simply extended credit. He’s my brother. We are 9 years apart. I changed his diapers, made his lunches.
Once upon a time I grew up in that place that NRO and blogger lady write off as something that should just die. Was a time when the grey matter between my ears counted I did my best to extinguish any sign of intelligence. I skipped a grade or two. I was a freak. Open heart, gay, poor, and not dumb also really hot. Not easy being prettiest in a steel town. I have read the blog that seems to hate blue collar. She is bile.
Much has been given to me. So much. I knew shame. Seriously a bucket in the corner. Strips of newspaper as toilet paper was for rich people. This country gavecme so much. We had a tv it just didn’t work. We made up stories about what could be on. Decades later the day after Thanksgiving we go as a tribe to the museum. Our kids taste life. They are my blood.
When I read rethugs or random bloggers being clueless as to what blue collar is I am offended. I worked with Barbara Pitts in Philly. She went on to be one of the writers on The Laramie Project. I ran into her and saidvitvwas a lie. Libs think they are justified lying. They fabricate this hate for working class. I am a poor gay kid from a steel town. I lived it. What they are selling is just not true
For real elitists make up this dystopian culture about working class people. It is pretend. Growing up one of my high schools was 49/51 black. I didn’t think about everything as race until obama. We called each other every name in the book. No one was exempt. Wops, kykes, degos, spics, micks, dumb pollocks, everyone was a fag, n word, cunts, jews. No snowflakes. I laugh at extreme libs. I feel pity. No emotion is uglier than pity. Grow up.

  20. mothy67 says:

Hillary die hards are scary. They seem to have let go of reality.
Where kid goes to tae kwon do there is an older nurse who teaches nursing and CNAs. She told me she was given instructions to pass CNA candidates that are refugees and fail. Its a six week course. Starting pay is 15. I have spent more time in hospitals than your average bear. My mom is a nurse.
Nurses used to be hands on. Now they spend most of a shift doing paper work. CNAs have most contact with patients. I asked don’t you think its wrong to give people health care jobs that cannot pass a basic test. Somehow that is racist. These people fail and it is racist to expect health care workers to meet a minimum standard. . She is just shy of a pussy hat.
Odd thing I got called racist. I never said dick about her students. Never asked where they were from. They could be Irish for all I know. She talked at me because of a Trump t shirt. I was awful and the kicker was misogynist. She took the opportunity to tell me how much I hate women. I it seems would not allow a woman. I busted my ass for Hillary in 2008. Sat in call centers for endless hours. Traversed all these fucking hills to walk elderly to vote in primary. I gave up my life to give a little female child a shot at life. Hillary left me. She went prog not me. I am slightly more conservative than I was in 2008 butvits reaction. I am a yuuuge supporter of traditional families. I think it is best. I say this as a great gay uncle raising a child. My case is not normal. I think there are exceptions. There is no place for me in today’s dim party. It has become fringe. Too extreme. 1992 it is not.
I only speak for myself but the gender stuff is a bridge too far. I feel so alienated from dims. I was an Irish Catholic gay. I lived a myth. JFK was at the foot of my stairs. I thought being democrat was pure. It was part of my identity.
I could not watch what they did to Palin. I changed because I admired her strength. Hillary became a joke. Zero substance.

She got older I didn’t plan on not being needed the same way. I was depressed without knowing it. Insomnia should have clued me in. I was stuck in a moment. Overnight in an ER psych ward woke me up. I am going to group. I am good at damaged people. I get along with the troubled. I have no tolerance for manipulators. Drug addled borderline I can smell. No patience. Yet I can sit with a lonely person and talk about cats. It is second nature for me to be nurturer. I have often thought about being a priest. Might sound like hubris but I think my destiny is to help. I don’t care about money. I have had a lot and none. Cash does not fuel me. I am only half stupid. I will get by. I need to contribute. I sold businesses for lots of bank I also collected cans on Long Island for food. I was hungry. I had a huffy from walmart. I collected cans to eat. It made me stronger. I made money. Prep school kids started leaving beer cans organized for me. I did what I had to do. Nine months. I did it. I loved it. I was alive. Kid was great she is still my best friend but there is no challenge. I am bored. Money makes me chuckle. I do not care. I have enough.

In order for me to get 400 I need a lawyer. I have to sell stuff. Crazy.
