The R’s voting against it were Shelley Moore Capito of WV, Susan Collins of Maine, Dean Heller of Nevada, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, John McCain of Arizona, Rob Portman of Ohio and Lamar Alexandar of Tennessee.

Only Heller of Nevada is up for re-election in 2018, the rest hope we forget…..well except for McCain who most likely won’t be around for his re-election in 6 years.

    • elliesmom says:

My FB feed exploded with people upset transgenders won’t be allowed in the military. One person suggested we won’t be able to fully staff if we eliminate them. At the height of the Vietnam War when we were drafting people, Elliesdad tried to enlist. He had skills the military was recruiting for and a colonel who was pushing to get him in. But he only has one kidney. He lost one to a genetic disorder and was (and still is) doing fine w/o it. No meds and no surgery after it was removed when he was a little kid. It was a no go, though. We’ve always eliminated people, even people who have something we need, when there’s a medical condition that might either impede a person’s ability to serve in combat w/o access to medication or as in Elliesdad’s case, something that might put the military at a higher risk for large medical bills unrelated to service. Frankly, I’m surprised this is even an issue. A serviceman coming out as transgender should have been being given a medical discharge all along.

      • DeniseVB says:

Are these your liberal friends? 😀

        • elliesmom says:

Pretty much. And a lot of “concern” about how many servicemen we’re going to lose when people refuse to re-enlist either because they want to come out as transgendered or in sympathy and anger. Personally, I don’t know that many left-wing military guys. Their wives, maybe, but not the person serving. I don’t see a massive staff depletion in support. I won’t say what my retired Navy BIL has to say about both gay and transgendered sailors. I also doubt the military is much of a magnet for the gender-confused. I might see an attraction for a woman wanting to become “all that she can be” as a man, but so far all of the vignettes have been about guys wanting to become women.

    • CiscoKid says:

I read that the medical procedures like the one Manning had can cost $160,000 or more.
Then there’s more cost with follow up care that makes them unavailable for duty at times .
One or more years of this and the taxpayer gets the bill again.
The money saved would be used for the Wall

      • DeniseVB says:

Not sure about the procedures, but doesn’t transitioning take several years? How is that helpful to the military and readiness?

        • Lulu says:

It is ruinous. This was a cost/benefit analysis by the Pentagon. People think the cost is the surgery but the analysis factors in time off, meds, medical procedures, time officers and staff have to deal with scheduling, training everyone to accept the person back as a trans, fights, unit transfers because of fights, even the cost of fear and/or revulsion. In graduate school for public admin back so long ago we studied the Pentagon which was on the cutting edge of quantifying everything into a cost/benefit. Everything has a cost and everything has some kind of benefit even teeny ones. They calculated the cost was not worth the benefit. Trump knows and understand this as a business person and economic literate.

          Aesop version:
The transgender are grasshoppers who will perish if they cannot be bothered to work so that they have food and shelter and other needs covered for winter like the ant/squirrel.

          SJWs version:
Peons such as ants and squirrels should give up everything they have worked hard for to house and feed and care for the grasshopper because cicada’s are special snowflakes who should not be expected to do fulfill such mundane tasks.

Seeking to retain his position as CIA director under Hillary, Brennan teamed up with British spies and Estonian spies to cripple Trump’s candidacy. He used their phony intelligence as a pretext for a multi-agency investigation into Trump, which led the FBI to probe a computer server connected to Trump Tower and gave cover to Susan Rice, among other Hillary supporters, to spy on Trump and his people.

  8. driguana says:

We absolutely need to get to the bottom of the foreign collusion and obstruction of justice problems that have beset our country. Unfortunately, the people currenlty leading these investigations are not neutral. They are very partisan, politically motivated bureaucrats. We need neutral parties, if any exist, so that all potential political criminals can be investigated. Do our current leaders have the guts and willingness to change the course? We’ll see…the unfolding is going to happen very quickly.

    • Lulu says:

This clown show of stupid was going on in the Democratic caucus of the Congress while Obama (Holder and Lynch ignoring it all) was in office and protecting the graft and idiocy. One month after Trump takes office the whole shebang implodes and the ratting out of them starts up.

  9. lyn says:

But what about all of Trump’s tweeting? Is Trump a nut? And what about the time he devotes to tweeting and to watching “Fox & Friends” and “Morning Joe”?

I don’t know. Maybe he is a nut. Yet, as an Orthodox rabbi who has counseled hundreds of people over 35 years, and as a high-stakes litigation attorney who has counseled and represented hundreds more, I will share a secret that is not protected by any professional rule of privilege: most people are nuts.

  14. Lulu says:

The Dems worked so hard on a Better Deal to switch from social and race issues to economic stuff to try to get moderates and whites back voting for them for 2018. Schumer and Pelosi are out there flakking it for the cameras. A couple of days after this new Dem branding roll out and Trump tweets out no transgenders and their huge costs in the military. The Dems go wild and are off message instantly and back to the old social issues again. And in the interim Trump got the haters of Jeff Sessions to defend his sacred honor as gentleman and Southerner. The Dems (and media) are really gnats with zero awareness or attention span. It is amazing to watch.

    • blowme0bama says:

I know. Brilliant. It forces the DIMS to go on attack in support of normalizing freaks.

      • Lulu says:

And Trump will suffer ZERO for it. “A poll conducted less than one month prior to President Trump’s decision on Wednesday to reverse an Obama-era policy that allowed transgender individuals to serve openly in the military found more people opposed than supported it.”
“Rasmussen surveyed 1,000 likely voters on the topic in late June, almost exactly one year after then-Defense Secretary Ash Carter announced the shift last summer” “Only 23 percent of people surveyed responded that it was good, while 31 percent said it was bad. The largest bloc of respondents, 38 percent, said it has no impact.”
And 41% bad to 12% good of military personnel for transgenders so Trump did not hurt himself with the military either.

Scott Adams says he always finds a way to Win-Win and this is an example.

        • blowme0bama says:

I know, I was laughing last night at NBC News bleating on and on about transgenders in the military. Told Wifeypoo, “they think they’re hurting him while the rest of America is going, ‘Jesus Christ’, thank GOD!”.

I think Ivanka is a smart beautiful woman, but I am not sure about the input she has into government affairs. I do think that family is adding to the turmoil in the white house. I can understand why trump trusts family first. But government is not their strong point. They may not be giving him the best advice in this situation.
    Just my opinion

  17. taw46 says:

“The ban on transgender service that President Trump reaffirmed was there for eight years under Obama. It was there in his first term and his second term. And the media said nothing.

Only in the summer of last year did the ban technically end. And, in practice, it remained in force. All the while there was no angry clamor about the suffering of potential recruits who couldn’t enlist. Those who are fuming with outrage now had hypocritically remained silent. Obama had done it. So it must be good.

Obama had kept the ban in place for almost his entire two terms in office. And he found a way to retain it throughout his final months. With a year’s review, the transgender recruits could only be accepted after he was out of the White House. That way he could have his social justice cake and eat it too. He would get the credit for ending the transgender ban without dealing with any of the problems.”

San Francisco transit officials withhold video of teen crimes to avoid racial stereotyping

Transit authorities in the San Francisco area are withholding video of crimes by black teens, claiming that it would promote unfair racial stereotypes.

The videos show the youths stealing purses, wallets, and phones. Between 40 and 60 teens boarded a train on April 22 and robbed seven passengers.

“The individuals they saw on video were repeat offenders. They knew who these people were,” said witness Rusty Stapp, who is suing to get the video released.

    • Ann says:

The blue on brown is better. Look at the color wheel and see what other colors are close to the opposite of brown if you don’t want all blue text (even in different shades of blue)…. or use a light overlay (REALLY light) and then the text on top of the overlay.

    • Lulu says:

Use bigger print on Russian Collusion and a different font which is clearer like a non-serif. Brown is a hard background color to contrast. Maybe lighten the brown a little bit?
