Thanks for the new thread! 😀

  2. Dora says:

First post on the new thread is a good one.

    It’s about the Wall!

    • Jadzia says:

Sounds like what people do in LA when they tear down an old or small house and leave a bit of retaining wall so that their new house is deemed a more easily approved “renovation ” instead of new construction!

  3. foxyladi14 says:

I was watching an old Drew Cary rerun, And Our President Trump was on it. Made my day!! 😀

    • mcnorman says:

To bad they gave him a nice horse. He should have gotten a crazy one.

    • Somebody says:

What an asshat, he’s Mr. Open Borders. He doesn’t want the wall, one of the Congressmen recently said the reason they haven’t funded the wall is because Speaker Ryan doesn’t want it and has blocked it.

I hope, hope, hope he gets primaried out!

    • Jadzia says:

OMG this is not a parody?

Would the people of the old Soviet Union, Cuba, or Venezuela lie to you?

      • DeniseVB says:

I always felt Obama had more in common with the Evildoers of yore who turned nice countries into sh*tholes. He almost suceeded, thank GAWD for Trump. I hope Hillary’s book “What Happened” includes her running for Obama’s 3rd term. Bad strategy right there.

    • Lulu says:

I knew that the illegals caught in the back of the hot truck in San Antonio was the PERFECT cover for 100% truck Mexican truck X-rays. It will save lives of course, keep them from entering the country to begin with, but now the Mexican government can’t argue that it hurts commerce to help the cartels bring in tons of drugs over the more “moral” argument of saving people from cooking in a truck or being abandoned somewhere. The tailbacks at the border coming in are going to be epic.

  15. mothy67 says:

Imagine if the dims had run a decent candidate? Or if they had let cankles win and followed her with bambi?

    • DeniseVB says:

I can’t think of any Dem that could be a serious threat to PDJT at this point. I see more jockeying for position on the NeverTrump side,,,,,,Kasich threatening to primary Trump for 2020, I haven’t thought too far ahead beyond the VA governor race this fall, after that, it’s going to be anything goes for 2018 !

      • CiscoKid says:

        I agree.
We’re selling coal and LNG to the 3 Seas and Poland.
The stock markets hit the highest in its history.
Unemployment hit a 15 year low.
This quarter GDP hit 2.6 %
FoxConn, may wind up investing $ 30 billion instead of $ billion.
Only a Democrat would want to f’k that up.
So I think 2020 is ours.

        • Somebody says:

I read a snarky NYT article correcting POTUS about unemployment. According to them rate was 4.3 in May 2017, so his statement about best in 17 years is a LIE! They didn’t mention the May numbers were on his watch too……cocksuckers

      • mothy67 says:

My point was only that in 2016 they ran a terrible candidate.

    • CiscoKid says:

That’s the the thing that nightmares are made of.
Unless Dem’s change their message of hate, lies, smears, innuendo, character assassination, which they won’t, all they have left is tax the rich and free stuff for everybody.
      Keep your fingers crossed anyway.

      • CiscoKid says:

My niece and I were having a discussion yesterday on what we were going to do with all the stuff my mother refuses to part with when she passes away. My niece said, “We sell it!” and then I saw that article today. Apparently, we are not alone.

    • dm says:

I know for a fact my kids are already dreading that day. Their father fancies himself a “collector” which I have come to believe is simply a more acceptable word for hoarder. The only thing that keeps him somewhat in check is me…they are definitely hoping I outlive him, otherwise they will be looking for a volume discount on dumpsters.

      • Ann says:

Boy, oh boy, does that sound like my husband. He has a 7000+sq ft commercial building, well on its way to full, he has a second “garage” that is 2000+ sq ft, already full, and he is working on taking over our basement. I get the heebie jeebies just thinking about all his “stuff”.

    • lateblum says:

I’m in the process of getting new living room furniture. I haven’t had new in over 40 years and the sofas are now pretty soft. If you know what I mean.
I am looking forward to purging my stuff, but not the things from my parents. My dd#1 and son don’t want anything. They said “Noooo” to everything. I just warned them to check every pocket, nook, and cranny so that they don’t end up throwing away money or jewels after I die (haha). Isn’t it odd?
I guess they don’t want to be encumbered. OTOH, my sister, and brother and I still want to have something to hold onto from my parents.

      • Ann says:

My mother did tell us to check the pockets, shoes, boots, ceiling (they have a drop-down in the hall) for jewelry, coins, and cash. Why not get a safe?

        • lateblum says:

A safe takes more room that the ready made pockets in my shirts coats jackets and vests. besides, they should have to do a little work, no? 😉

      • Jadzia says:

All I wanted was a single earring. One from my moms favorite pair. I lost the other when I borrowed them as a teenager. Unfortunately my stepfather’s squalor apparently destroyed their home down to the subfloors, so neither an earring nor anything else will be forthcoming.

Fortunately he talked my mom into a tenancy by the entirety that disinherited her children from any interest in the family home, so when he dies and the house is finally condemned guess whose problem it will be? My stepfather’s daughter, who cannot stand her dad and whom my mother couldn’t stand. I would say ha ha except that number one I consider this gal an older sister and actually love her and she certainly did not want this nonsense foisted upon her (she is the most selfless person I know) and number two, once the house is torn down the land will be worth something.

    • 1539days says:

It’s almost unnecessary to pass things down anymore. Books and music are in the cloud. Pictures are digitized. You can buy furniture and appliances for less than ever. Plus, houses are getting more expensive and space is harder to come by.

    • elliesmom says:

We moved from a 3500 sq ft house to a 1700 sq ft one. I moved everything I wanted to move to the new house to the first floor of the old house and called the kids. They went through the stuff on the top two floors and took what they wanted. Then I called a service to come and get the rest. They deducted the value of things they could sell from the cost of getting rid of getting rid of the rest and gave me a bill. It was pretty much a wash. I gave the kids the number of the company and said they should do the same when they get stuck clearing out the new house. I have marked a few boxes in the basement “Don’t bother. There’s nothing in here you want”. But I’d rather see my daughter enjoying some of the stuff she chose now then thinking about her going through our stuff looking for them at a stressful time for her. My MIL used to set the breakfast table with fancy cut glass bowls for my daughter. I always worried they’d end up broken, but she said she was teaching her to appreciate beautiful things. The bowls survived just fine, and they were the first thing my daughter asked for. So much fun to see her serve breakfast to her kids in them.

Good ole’ AP. It’s well known that Trump was taking a massive lifestyle demotion moving into the WH, but he has said many times how humbled he was living with such a rich history. I’m sure he was being sarcastic with the “dump” comment, if he said it. The WH is old and under constant maintenance, which is mentioned in several Presidents’ bios. I think Truman was the last major renovation and had to live at the Blair House for several months, that’s been almost 70 years !

Good grief, the Obamas bitched about living in a prison and over the store. They sure got away as often as they could, but they never went home (in Chicago) for a “vacation”.

    McConnell wages war down South

Mitch McConnell is unleashing the full force of his political machine in an all-out push to stop two far-right conservatives who threaten to make his life miserable in the Senate.

The Republican leader is aiming to thwart Rep. Mo Brooks and former state Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore in a special election in Alabama next month. Both men are campaigning against McConnell as a despised symbol of the establishment and both would exacerbate his already stiff challenge wrangling his GOP Conference.

Klown you mentioned depression the other day. I thought this was interesting. From 2015.

    https://www.feelguide.com/2015/01/06/new-research-discovers-tha-depression-is-an-allergic-reaction-to-inflammation/

New research is revealing that many cases of depression are caused by an allergic reaction to inflammation. Tim de Chant of NOVA writes: “Inflammation is our immune system’s natural response to injuries, infections, or foreign compounds. When triggered, the body pumps various cells and proteins to the site through the blood stream, including cytokines, a class of proteins that facilitate intercellular communication. It also happens that people suffering from depression are loaded with cytokines.” Inflammation is caused by obesity, high sugar diets, high quantities of trans fats, unhealthy diets in general, and other causes.
