Catty Criticism of Trump Women

Oh, the hypocrisy!

Nina Burleigh of Newsweak:

MELANIA, IVANKA AND IVANA TRUMP WEAR HIGH HEELS, A SYMBOL OF EVERYTHING THAT IS BEAUTIFUL AND HORRIFYING ABOUT THEM

There’s been no rest for the wicked just a week into President Donald Trump’s 17-day vacation, what with our late-summer flirtation with nuclear war. But the women in the Trump clan seem to have been able to kick back. Given the dearth of photographic evidence otherwise, perhaps they have finally been able to put their feet up.

This hiatus allows us to reflect on a minor Trumpian trend to which the nation has become accustomed since January: the ubiquitous stiletto pump. The vertiginous spike-heel shoe is not currently in fashion, but for Ivana, Ivanka, Melania and the Trump daughters-in-law, Carrie Bradshaw’s shoe of choice never went out of style. In fact, the female consorts of the Leader of the Free World do not set foot in public without first molding their arches into the supranatural curve that Mattel toy designers once devised for Barbie’s plastic feet.

Six months in, and the Trump women are well on their way to normalizing the footwear of the beauty pageant. The Cinderella shoe fitted on the feet of all the Miss Teen USA’s and Miss Universes who ever beamed under the Trumpian gaze in contests of yore also is the shoe that average women can bear for only a few hours at weddings or proms, before casting them off, moaning and rubbing their soles.

All that stuff we said about not judging women on their appearance? Fuhgeddaboutit.

Burn dem bitches!

:eyeroll:

BTW: Nina Burleigh is the “journalist” who offered to suck Bill Clinton’s dick. (He passed).

  1. FYI: Those are FLOTUS’s feet encased in Christian Louboutins.

    • If Mooch ever wore stilettos like that the heels would sink right into solid cement.

        • Are your toes supposed to hang over the front of the shoe?

        • Lulu says:

Some feet are simply not meant to wear certain types of shoes. Example: I have trouble wearing athletic shoes because my heel is too narrow and stilettos because my foot is too short so I wear loafers or low heels so should I demand an end to athletic shoes and high heels? Since “everyone” cannot wear them they must be stamped out because “racism”, trans-gender shaming (men’s feet do not work in little pointy shoes), clumpers (women who never learn how to glide-walk or are genetically not built for it), flat feet/wide fee/fat feet, etc. Everything must be acceptable or usable by everyone or it is verboten and discriminatory. No physical or mental difference is allowed or some asshole is offended.

          • swanspirit says:

The woman who wrote this isn’t offended. She wrote this garbage as an excuse to attack the Trump women, and ingratiate herself to the Trump haters. You and I both know if Mooch O., or any other prominent left wing woman wears heels, it won’t bother her in the least. Fucking hypocrite that she is.

          • mothy67 says:

I know all the leftist women loved Sex in the City and Carrie’s love of shoes.

  2. votermom says:

I can’t wear heels myself (or rather I don’t want to) but I don’t judge people on their footwear.

  3. PSA:

On behalf of all straight men let me state unequivocally that while we like the look we want no part in shopping for the shoes. Ever.

  4. 49erDweet says:

With libs, just being something basic and simple is not enough. Exposing the hidden “messages”, both real and imaginary, is always the ‘righteously important’ thing to do. They have a point system, apparently.

      • DeniseVB says:

Foo is a solid NeverTrumper, but we’re still “friends” on the social things. She got “hired” by Twitchy, her twitch posts are sj or sam janney or something.

    • elliesmom says:

I just get a kick out of the high heels are out of style thing. Have the people criticizing the Trump ladies been shoe shopping lately? While I gave up the stiletto when I turned 50 or so, they haven’t gone out of style for anyone physically able to wear them. I still miss them. There’s nothing that says I’m a kickass women than being able to to dance backward in a high heel. Birkenstocks just don’t send the same message.

      • taw46 says:

I also laughed at the out of style thing. Tell that to the shoe designers who are still putting them out there and the women who are still buying them.

  5. swanspirit says:

I used to wear very high heels. After I broke my fifth metatarsal; not because of the heels, I was running when I broke it; not so much. I still love them. My mother wore them, my daughter and granddaughter wear them. They also wear many other kinds of shoes.
This is some serious shitnitpicking. From someone who isn’t even relevant in any way.

  10. helenk3 says:

my generation wore high heels most of the time. for work, for dates, for nights out on the town. And we looked damn good in them.
Have you seen any democratic women who would look good in them? Maybe 50 years ago when they were young but not now.
They libs seem to be stuck on stupid and have been for a while. With everything going on in the country and the nonsense being taught in schools maybe they better get their heads out of their butts and concentrate on doing something useful for the country. It would be a change for them.

  11. AFVet says:

Since this thread is discussing women, I give you the graphic illustration of the effect of time on some of the fairer sex.

  12. Progressivism IS a cult.

    • Lulu says:

Cults are social and economic control systems. Like Scientology, feudalism, socialism, globalism, communism, etc. The part that is amusing about Google is that they claim to be the world leader in basically everything but just when they got to the point of whole hog progressivism the rest of the world is starting to bust out of that stuff. Some leaders and trend spotter aren’t they? Not. They look to be seriously behind the curve so not leaders.

    • DeniseVB says:

I still have my original Beatles vinyls, but rendered them worthless when I wrote my name in gigantic letters on the album cover backs. Didn’t want anyone to steal them at parties. Boy, are my kids going to be disappointed when they go through my stuff 😀

I picked up The Cell at a train station for mindless reading. Let’s just say King’s best work is far behind him. It was unreadable.

    • Lulu says:

Stephen King was in a serious accident some years ago. He hasn’t been quite right since. I bet a closed head injury that was basically untreatable and he is inching towards monster loon now. He has less and less of a filter and reason. Sad. Henry VIII had the same thing but with jousting instead of a car running over him. Head injuries are hell.

    • Dora says:

Back in the day, I used to love his books. I read one after the other as they came out. I think the first book I read was Carrie. That got me hooked and I went on to Salem’s Lot, Pet Cemetery, Christine and of course The Shining.

Oh, there was another one about a dog. It was great, but I can’t remember the name of it. Shucks. A senior moment.

Anyway, I’ve outgrown those type of stories and I’ve given my SK book collection to the library for their ‘buy rack’. Nevertheless, I do appreciate the man’s gift for writing. I am disappointed to see what has become of him. It’s sad.

    Auto Mechanics Recreate Renaissance Paintings
Photographer Freddy Fabris had always wanted to pay homage to the Renaissance masters with his photos in some way, but he wasn’t sure how until he stumbled upon an auto-mechanic shop in the Midwest. This led to a brilliant series of funny portraits with auto mechanics.

    Mike Rowe would love these!

      • Lulu says:

Except he refuses to acknowledge that N Korea is now ready to talk instead of just threaten their neighbors and the US. THAT is left out by the preening ass. AND that monster Manduro, after ONE aside by Trump, ONE!, is calling and trying to get a conversation (and Trump told him NO!). The lazy ass, kick the can down the road, lead from behind, humorous-less (thanks Putin for helping downsize the overstaffed do-nothings and space wasters at the State Dept) blah-blah, interfering, globalist crap is OVER. Talk nicely to the US or we’re up your butt. And stop starving your people you pricks. Whelen is too stoopid to understand Whoa Fat is genociding his own people as is Maduro or wants it here too.

  17. Lulu says:

I think we are seeing the next manifestation of various mood disorders break out. I am not a psychologist but the trends this extreme are hard to ignore. The depression, denial, fury that broke out on the left after the election is morphing into serious mood and behavioral disorders. Most of these mental issues are interconnected anyway. This angry “triggering” looks like “mass” oppositional defiant disorder. Most of the causes are fairly apparent too but on a societal level as well as smaller “group” dynamic and are feeding off each other. They OPPOSE everything even if it doesn’t make any sense and HATE anyone or anything that might even suggest (in their minds of arrested development with anxiety and depression leading to fury) authority. Like the president’s wife’s feet or siding with a loon with nukes or rationalizing murdering/genociding your fellow citizens. They even sound like teenagers which is the most common sufferer of this malady. They proudly announced their depression/anxiety in Nov 2016 and this looks like the next step of it.

    • Miranda says:

Someone I know on FB made a remark to the effect that she hadn’t been able to smile about anything since the election. That’s letting politics take way too strong a hold. I didn’t like Obama, but his presidency didn’t blight my life.

    • mothy67 says:

I wrote the other day that I wish a non biased psychologist would analyze the hard left as if it was a person.
There are almost daily threats on Trump’s life. That is not healthy. Homicidal ideations get you committed.
I ask real world people what he has done to upset them so. Wages are going up in construction.
He is addressing the opioid problem directly. One of the never Trumpers said those white folks with addictions need to die. I take the bus you should see the number of ankle monitors during non rush hour. My hometown had fallen into an abyss. Things weren’t always like that and they don’t have to be. Since Donald has taken office there is optimism. I have not seen in decades.
A few months ago I took crud to get her phone fixed. We had to go into a shady neighborhood. She was only 10, but she expressed how oppressive, depressive the place was. Said she couldn’t imagine waking up to that. Some of these places look like little Detroit. All dim controlled. RD has gone on about how those industries are deceased. She comes across as faux elitest to me. Looks down on people doing a job. Not everyone could or should be a molecular biologist.
My bro has a degree in art. He is working at US Steel as of the 1st. He has a daughter who will be going away to college next year. He needs steady income. What sucked was the screening. It took about 6 weeks. Hair folicles. I gave him credit cards.
The addictions will not end or diminish if people do not have productive lives.
The change is already palpable. Yet I steal hear so much anti-Trump. None of this would be happening under clinton.

“Black Lives Matter is a textbook example of how not to build solidarity. By publicizing and protesting police mistreatment of African-Americans, the movement delivered a wake-up call to every American with a conscience. But its decision to use this mistreatment to build a general indictment of American society and demand a confession of white sins and public penitence only played into the hands of the Republican right.”

Oregon State ‘Fat Studies’ Course Claims that ‘Weightism’ Is a Civil Rights Issue

A course entitled “Fat Studies” at Oregon State University argues that “weightism” is a civil rights issue, making it harder for overweight Americans to get ahead.

The course, which will be offered in the spring, will examine “body weight, shape, and size as an area of human difference subject to privilege and discrimination that intersects with other systems of oppression based on gender, race, class, age, sexual orientation, and ability.”

    • taw46 says:

I haven’t been following it that closely. I think it all started with the city’s plan to remove the Robert E. Lee statue. Dandy would know.

    • DandyTIger says:

Lots of just regular leaning conservative people who don’t want the statutes removed. But we can’t have them seem rational, so of course they’re labeled nazis. And the left successfully branded “alt-right” as nazi, etc. So any effort to go against re-writing history, being against BLM, Dems movement of kill whitey, etc. is some sort of KKK thing in the media.

      • DandyTIger says:

        Probably doesn’t help that actual KKK types joined in with these efforts. So nice of them to “help”. {{rolls eyes}}

        • DeniseVB says:

As the media usually does at rallies, finds the most insane people to use in their “stories”. Tea Party rallies always attracted that LaRouche group with the pro-Hitler posters, and media goes…..see, it’s a Nazi gathering. I hate the media.

      • taw46 says:

FNC had Dem government people on (ugh) saying White group is there only to stir up racial hatred and wanted to cause a race war, that R’s and D’s both should condemn this violence. Of course, these same people never say we should condemn Antifa or BLM. And all while FNC was showing BLM swinging sticks, but no criticism of that. Or Obama stirring up racial hatred.

One of the news readers on the radio even asked why they were “busing in people” for this March as if that had never happened before.
