I don’t know what Trump said to that widow and frankly I don’t give a flying fuck. I didn’t vote for Trump to reach out and be touchy-feely with grieving families. He’s got other shit to do, and I’m pretty sure that for most of those families chatting with the President isn’t real high on their priority list.

This is all a bunch of crap. It started off with the media chasing a squirrel and trying to prove that Trump lied about something nobody really cares about anyway. Then Maxine Waters’ doppelgänger said she overheard Trump say something to a grieving widow.

President Trump on Wednesday doubled down on his denial that he told the widow of a soldier killed in Niger that her husband “knew what he signed up for.”

Speaking at the White House, Trump pushed back on details of his call with Army Sgt. La David Johnson’s widow that were provided by Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.), who was in the car with the widow, Myeshia Johnson, during the conversation.

“I didn’t say what that congresswoman said — didn’t say it at all — she knows it,” Trump told reporters. “I would like her to make the statement again because I did not say what she said.”

The comments followed an early morning tweet, in which the president claimed Wilson “totally fabricated” her account of the call.

Trump said he “had a very nice conversation with the woman, the wife, who sounded like a lovely woman.”

The president’s denials are at odds with Wilson’s description of the conversation, as well comments made by Johnson’s mother, who stood behind the congresswoman’s statements.

“President Trump did disrespect my son and my daughter and also me and my husband,” Cowanda Jones-Johnson, who said she was also in the car, told The Washington Post.

The media is hyperventilating like this is the cruelest, meanest thing anybody ever heard of. What a load of crap!

Assuming, arguendo, that Trump indeed spoke those very words, so fucking what? At worst it was awkward and insensitive. Not everyone can express condolences smoothly.

A far more likely scenario is that whatever Trump actually said has been distorted by a whack-job partisan Democrat.

Nobody gives a fuck. The people that are outraged are the people that are always outraged. Meanwhile, the stock market is up, the economy is growing, the Russian collusion story is out of gas, and ISIS is being crushed.

I have some columnists I keep my eye out for every week. Most for a good laugh, but there are a few whose wisdom I seek. One is VDH. Another is Clarice Feldman on Sundays at the American Thinker. She’s a tough old bird who likes to turn over rocks and poke a stick at what turns up underneath. She’s a hoot on FB. When I’m looking for just plain old common sense, I love to read Megan McArdle. I’ve been waiting for her to weigh in on Weinstein.

    • Constance says:

Remember everyone was saying “why now when this Weinstein abuse has been going on for decades?” I was watching Fox business news this morning and they said Weinstein company has been out of money for 15 months. The company is collapsing, evaporating. So it’s nothing but a money situation that let this happen now.

For my part I’m not willing to grant high victim status to any Hollywood women who knew this went on and said nothing until now. They benefited from the system which functioned to remove talented women and women with integrity from the competition.

I wonder what Playboy’s November sales are going to look like. And their subscription renewals. Has their target audience changed? Is this the equivalent of kneeling? I mean, guys looking at pics of naked or nearly naked women and laughing at sort of off-color jokes is as American as the NFL. I don’t remember any of my guy friends looking at Playboy for guidance in social justice areas. The Playboy Adviser wasn’t about being politically correct in how you choose your partner. It was how to get laid anyway you could. Then again, maybe choosing to have sex with a transwoman might be some guys’ only avenue. Is sex with biological women becoming scarce?

That the democrats in congress were supporting his nomination should have given PDJT pause. I know it did me.
I think PDJT had hoped to mollify democrats and try to smooth the way for a fair hearing. It’s clear, he is not a politician. Congress is more than a swamp; it is a hellhole. I remain fearful because no matter what he does or says, he is attacked mercilessly. And regardless of what they have done in the past or are currently doing, members of Congress ought to be taken to task, tried , imprisoned and/or removed from public office.
Last night on the BBC Worldnews, they reported on PDJT’s “mistreatment” of the military widow. This immediately followed the news of the fleeing of the Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar. So it was either second or third on World News from the BBC. I was furious. Not one word about the Russia/Obama-Clinton plutonium scandal. Not One. I thought if I watched something other than national news, I’d hear something other than slams against Trump. I’ll have to learn French I guess.

The job you signed up for is not easy. It can mean long shifts and late nights. It demands focus, and determination, and great bravery in the face of unknown dangers. When you run into that building or chase down that suspect, you will be risking your own life in order to protect the lives of men and women you have never met, and some that you may never know. But you knew all that when you joined the academy. You knew the risks involved, you knew the sacrifices required, and yet you stood up and said, ‘I’ll take that risk. I’ll make that sacrifice. I will do that job.’

Lateblum, we watched Baby Driver on dvd last night.

    • lateblum says:

I’m so glad she liked it. What did you think? did you enjoy it? I really think it is the best, most innovative movie I’ve seen in years. I saw the new Judi Dench movie about Queen Victoria and the Muslim guy last weekend. It was fine, but no Baby Driver. Really, Baby Driver is a keeper, imho. The driving scenes were spectacular. The music was as well. I hope it’s nominated for multiple awards (as meaningless as they have become) this year. I think the heavyweight actors (Spacey, Foxx, Hamm) might have added some “cred” to it. Without those ” names” many people might not have given it a peek.

    • lateblum says:

BTW, Mad Max:Fury Road won a ton of Oscars a couple years ago. never seen it. It never seemed to be a movie I might like. But one of the “movie critics” I talk with frequently, called it the “Movie of the Year” that year. But he never could convince me to see it. lol

      • Jeffhas says:

Fury Road needs to be seen more then once (in my opinion)… I thought I’d was ho hum (contrived – campy) the first time I saw it – caught it later on TV… then again recently… your friend is right – really great spectacle.

It strikes me as an ‘everyone but Tom Hardy’ movie – because everyone but Hardy is ‘freak’ishly good.

      • lyn says:

It looks good. Lily James is a sweetie. I enjoy seeing Downton Abbey actors in other films. I watched “Blood Father” last night. French directors make the best action movies.

It is good. I didn’t realize it was Lily James until I saw the credits. She was so different from “Rose”. I like seeing the Downton Abbey people elsewhere as well. Watch Baby Driver. You’ll enjoy it. 😘

And this folks is considered by some to be a ‘feminist.’ This is why us real empowered girls can’t touch that term with a million mile fork because bitches like this have ruined the message. Women should be born with same rights but with those rights come the same responsibilities. When women pose and do crap like this it makes us look stupid. Really really stupid. And that is before she opens her mouth. How can we argue that we want equal respect and opportunity when if you google girl or woman on internet you pull up one millions sites showing woman on knees getting mouth fucked? and that rhetorical question for those that like Chandler is that we cannot. You want to protest something girls protest pornography specifically online pornography which is not only disgusting but ruining children’s lives because they see this filth and normalize it.
Real equality means working hard to achieve and being responsible. Both women and blacks have failed horribly at holding up their end of the bargain.

      • helenk3 says:

today’s so called “feminists” are a guy’s wet dream
a guy can “hook up” take no responsibility for consequences. no long term relationship were he has to contribute part of him.

        • jenlyntx says:

yep Hugh Hefner won…he introduced Playboy at moment womens’ rights movement was at full tilt. Women stupidly went with the message free sex = empowerment. Also bent knee to racism instead of full force feminism. See, you can’t win a war if you don’t know what you are fighting for and racism is different than sexism and black men had right to vote before women if you will remember. I wish I had been there to knock heads with these stupidos and say girls do you want freedom or simply freedom to fuck. MY GOD what is wrong with human race. Sort of like when Oprah could have gone Hillary over Obama and despite having been violently raped by BLACK MEN and held down by BLACK MEN and uplifted by WHITE WOMEN AND MEN she went black over vagina. I remember how sad I was when Maya Angelou was asked about Barack and she said WHO IS THAT I am voting for Hillary and then the black community when crazy on her ass. Despite Billary’s descent into madness and evil at one point in her life she was a wonderful feminist and freedom fighter for women and children and Maya remembered that (see women includes black women and she was there for all women).
I have zero respect for any living feminist or women currently in so called women’s movement except for few freedom fighters helping victims of sexual slavery. Complete stupidos and sell outs. This is not about the absolute right to abortion, right to be naked, right to be in porn this has to do with right to bodily self integrity, right to vote, hold office, wear pants, and NOT to have sex if you don’t want to do so. Women, like blacks, are their own worst enemy and I cannot waste time with these whining sacks of shit. You want change BE THE CHANGE but don’t be the problem and ask me to help you.

    • jenlyntx says:

This is classic example of you cannot do right if you are white and dealing with racists. I see this all the time when dealing with general public. We have a BIG ole racism problem in this country and it is black on white racism. Their hate of us is so strong we could be reaching in to pull them out of burning building and they would report that we bitch slapped them. This is a dangerous time in America because people are losing jobs, right to own basketball franchises, run their restaurants, make their cakes, and simply live because they are white and Christian and say or do something deemed ‘racist.’ Here is the deal people racism is bad no matter who is doing it and if the color of the perpetrator matters than MLK’s belief that for a society to be just a person must be judged on character vs. skin color we are fucked. Trump didn’t do anything improper other than, in eyes of Liberals, be white and be President. How dare he….

OT—-I did something to my left shoulder. I have no idea what, I just know about midday yesterday it felt like someone was stabbing me where my shoulder and arm connect. The pain goes down my arm to my elbow and runs down my shoulder too.

For the first time in my life I have penis envy. It would have been so much easier to just unzip, whip it out and re-zip, rather than pulling my pants and undies up and down all day. I’m half considering going commando in a dress tomorrow, but knowing my luck I would get into a horrific accident and my mother would never get over the embarrassment. Thankfully I have the day off tomorrow, I’m hoping resting my arm over a long weekend will help whatever it is heal. Too bad I can’t get a day off from puppy duty too.
