LOL, Tuesday…..

My new favorite follow on Twitter, love my fellow ballsy Twit Chicks, no fear 😀

Also, watching the 1935 movie version of Midsummer’s Night Dream on TCM, it’s really “trippy” and my gawd, sparkly. How did this not become the Rocky Horror Picture Show of the 30’s to mid-70’s.

I have NOT missed any news today, except for the wonderful links youse’guys share here. Sounds like Sessions’ Congressional is being usurped by the Plantation Monkeys, sorry, not sorry. ❤ Open Thread ❤

I saw that movie years ago, wish I had known it was on today. Trippy, indeed!

Hurrah! The Obamacare individual mandate looks to be on the chopping block! This could be the start of something very big. Here’s hoping that congress actually gets something done on this.

    • 1539days says:

The individual mandate was never all that effective. The Medicaid expansion is the piece that’s costing the most money and makes people think they have “free” health care.

      • BjornTheBorg says:

Indeed, but any little bit helps. I dream of the day when congress gets the government out of the health care business altogether: Obamacare, Medicaid, and Medicare. The savings would be gigantic, funding all manner of tax relief. Even better would be the elimination of Social Security, or at least means-testing the sucker. And if the fraudulent mess that is SS Disability were to be axed, I’d be ready to party long and hard. But, baby steps are what we’re left with.

    • Constance says:

I will just be amazed if the first thing Congress does is for the Citizens of the country. I am actually betting the first thing they do is for the non citizen dreamers.

      • mothy says:

Remember when o wanted to tax college savings accounts?

        • Constance says:

Progressives are all about conflation of issues, raising taxes and government regulation, oh yes and virtue signalling. In Seattle the Progressive city council just allowed a dramatic production regarding people who died homeless in the city, at a council meeting. They then decided to impose a $14 a night tax on all Airbnb type stays. Not sure how they conflate those two issues but Oh-well. Progs are always blabbering about unfair taxes, which are taxes that hit low income people at the same rate as rich bastards. So the Prog solution is to slap a tax on poor people vacations? WTF! Do they really think people sit around thinking “Hey I’m going to Seattle, I think I’ll stay in the Fairmont Olympic or the Sorrento, no I’m going to stay in someone’s basement!” How can anyone be so F’ing dumb they don’t see they just put on a poor people tax and they won’t get one of their hated rich bastards with it?!

          • Constance says:

Wait! I just got it. The Progs think the Airbnb owners are rich bastards and stupidly think they will pay the tax. NO simpletons. The $14 a night tax will be added on to the cost of every room so every room listed will just cost that much more. The poor people who use Airbnb will now pay more and some of them won’t be able to afford the increase.

          • SHV says:

“Wait! I just got it. The Progs think the Airbnb owners are rich bastards and stupidly think they will pay the tax.”
It’s another follow the money….Airbnb is hurting hotels and one way to help the “folks” who pay the politicians is to tax their competition.

          • Constance says:

The thing is even with the tax the Airbnbs are about a fourth of the price of a hotel. It isn’t enough to make a hotel room look good or even comparable. But it is enough to keep low income people from traveling.

I’ve often thought about setting up a second twitter account and wading into the political sewer. But then I stop myself. I like Twitter (my stream is all sunshine and unicorns), and I am never tempted to get down in the dirt with the account I have. Better for my blood pressure, I am sure.

    • Constance says:

Well John, that doesn’t sound very fun!

    • John Denney says:

I don’t do Twitter, but that’s how I behave online, though I may come across as curt and pointed.

Had a dialog with a woman on a facebook group in which she made accusations of me and called me a hater.
“Hater?”, I said, then told her to review our extensive conversation and note that I never called her names or accused her of anything, but instead tried to find common ground, even giving her an honest smile (smiley face), even though she is a total stranger to me.

No response. Perhaps she’s chastened. Perhaps she hates me now. Who knows? Oh well . . .

  10. helenk3 says:

I had the silly idea that government depts were accountable to the people for their actions.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

Silly Helen accountability is for deplorable peons!

I will say although there was a lot of this within the feds and the DC government (which, after all is nothing but a spin off from the feds old habits die hard), I did work with many departments that did things on a shoestring budget that way most places do. Worker bees bringing dishes for holiday/birthday/shower parties and maybe a collection to pay for the the main course. Lunches/dinners outside for say retirements were dutch treat with everyone pitching in to pay for the honoree.

However when you would see the big splashes put on by others using governmental funds – it was hard to explain to those with more modest celebrations why some were able to just thumb their noses at accountability and responsibility.

The launch codes do take two people. And it has been this way for a very long time. One of the reasons is to prevent errors. And I remember reading (in college? grad school?) it is also to prevent all the responsibility and guilt from falling on one person much like firing squads are multiple people or even juries deciding life and death matters. I am amazed at the ignorance of people who write articles about such matters that do ZERO research and seem to be stunted in general comprehension of ethics, government, psychology, etc. Why do I know this and a f’ing general doesn’t.

Liberal MSM’s about-face: Bill Clinton is a rapist

Something interesting is going on with the liberal MSM they’re turning against the Clintons, specifically Bill Clinton.

At least three mainstays of MSM MSNBC, The Atlantic and The New York Times are calling Bill Clinton a rapist. Finally.

    • dm says:

I just read an interesting piece on my gossip blog about Clinton and Sam Kinnison, partying way back in the day with 2 teenage girls, one of whom died from an overdose. When TPTB decided Bill was their guy for president, the other two ended up dead. It does seem as if the worm is turning a bit.

do we really need a senate? a bunch of old fuddy duddies looking for a place to roost on the taxpayer dollar? The best paying part time job in the country and they still can not get the job done. What have they done for us lately?

  26. Dora says:

It is a loser Mr. President. I don’t watch it either.

    • Lulu says:

I still have it on parental block on my personal TV. I can’t watch it unless I want to look it up in the Lulu’s Secret Book of Codes, PINS, and Passwords. Hint: It looks like an old timey greasy recipe book.

Of course, they don’t want anyone to be able to see them committing a crime. They want accountability for the police, but not for the criminals. I often thought about pointing a hidden camera at one of the little hoodlums to be able to show his mom and dad what really went on with him in school, but the only cameras parents were willing to permit in the classroom were ones directed at the front of the class. Same thing. Accountability for thee, but not for me- or my perfect child.
