Global Warming Saturday

When a mile-thick sheet of ice covers half of North America, liberals will still be whinging about global warming.

I ran outside to take out the recycling and ran inside as fast as I possibly could. It is 5° outside right now, however, we did not get the crazy winds that were predicted! (YAY!) The Mid-30s by Monday. It is gonna seem like a tropical heatwave. 🌴 🌴 🌴

    ‘Gorilla Channel’ spoof ensnares Trump-haters

A satirical fake excerpt from Michael Wolff’s Trump book Fire and Fury was taken as fact by many liberal media personalities, leading to hilarious and embarrassing consequences.

  4. elliesmom says:

The thing is it doesn’t matter much to today’s left if their ideas and policies are correct or work well. They claim the moral high ground so even if they’re proved to be dangerously wrong, they can congratulate themselves for being wrong for the right reasons. They, unlike the right, have everyone’s best interests at heart. If you take away a family’s welfare check, and the result is the someone gets a job, and takes care of the family without government help, the motives were cruel and that negates the success. It’s not speculation that the government’s dietary recommendations are largely responsible for our current obesity epidemic, but the left wants us to support taxing the food and drink we consume as a solution to the problem. If we don’t, we become responsible for fat kids and people dying. I don’t know how much human influence adds to the natural heating and cooling of the planet. I do know putting more taxes on fossil fuels and electricity than we already pay is going to leave us with a lot very cold poor people, and I also know when people freeze to death or die from heatstroke because they can’t afford to run the AC anymore, the left will find a way to blame the right. Because they care about the planet, and the right hates poor people.

    • Underwhelmed says:

I really am starting to think there is no hope for them. They are so entrenched in their worldview they have become emotionally/mentally/intellectually incapable of critical thinking. The mere hint that they might be mistaken sends them into frothing spasms of madness that are quite astonishing. A fact is presented to them, it contradicts their internalised worldview, and therefore it cannot be seen or considered.

Oregon votes on Measure 101 this month to tax health insurance companies and hospitals to fund Medicaid. I was going to vote for it, but then I remembered that Oregon now requires health insurance companies to fund abortions and thus make them free for all women (including illegal aliens). Fook ’em! I voted against it.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

So the people with insurance will end up paying for illegals via higher bills and end up with worse coverage .

        • lyn says:

Probably. Insurance companies can’t increase their premiums more than 1.5 percent a year. I have no idea about hospital charges.

Steele has a defamation suit against him in a court in London filed by some Russians who call him a liar, smear merchant, purveyor of shit for money and a dirty dog. Steele is telling the libel court very different stuff than the FBI is telling the Senate/House intell committees (and FISA court) regarding Steele and his “issues”. I don’t think the Congress has talked to Steele. I may be wrong. This appears, to me anyway, to be a way that the intell committee is informing the FBI that they are lying. Teresa May may be giving the Congress the “secret” part of the libel trial stuff to get her own ass out of trouble with her MI5 helping run a spying operation on a US political candidate who is now President. Slimeballs. Steele also did some bad stuff and got paid in the FIFA scandal a few years ago supposedly. He is a bottom-feeder and moron.

I think she may be learning disabled. She didn’t file her taxes. She can’t keep up with her own money. There are many reasons people can’t do this and they usually need a legal guardian because of a severe impairment. And NO ONE should listen to the cognitively impaired’s political views. It is as loony as the Dems in 2008 saying vote for Obama because your not fully formed brained children think he is cool. As I told one of my son’s (age 12 or so) when he was arguing for something “If you are so smart why aren’t you the one working and taking care of ME!” He wanted all of the say and none of the responsibility. It don’t work that way. That is what idiots like Milano want. It is arrested development and dumbness 101. She is mentally 12.

    • Lulu says:

On one the more obscure blogs I sometimes read had a discussion that most of the raving anti-Trumpers are simply too dumb to get him. Anyone who is one or two variations in differential lower in IQ probably doesn’t understand what you are saying or writing most of the time. It was hilarious. And made a lot of sense. They don’t get it because they can’t. They simply don’t have the brain power. This “Trump is illiterate and can’t read or is too lazy to read” makes sense to them since they can’t understand him and he operates at a level that they never will be able to do. The fact that he is a master of intricate real estate law, reads and WRITES extraordinarily complex contracts like a boss, understand macro economics by region internationally, clubbed 17 major Republican candidates and a YUGE Dem like baby seals, and communicates on multiple levels with ease is beyond their comprehension.

Scott Adams has been saying this (in his own way) for a long time and they don’t get that either because HE isn’t on their level either. When I see someone like Comey, who is supposed to be so smart, just getting smashed and humiliated by the stupid and whiny crap he pulled, just get skinned by Trump, I know Comey is really an average intellect and sneak. The same with the rest of the anti-Trump Harvard “geniuses” who are mediocre nothing-burgers. They are so invested in their “smartness” they cannot comprehend someone is smarter than they are by 20-40 IQ points and wiser by a lifetime of doing. They are projecting this crap to protect their own egos which are being stomped.

      • AniEm says:

True. The gov’t (and media, and entertainment) has been in the hands of a group of penny-ante Machiavellis who have about as much depth as the stereotypical Valley Girl.
The President is the kind of “imbecile” who is running circles around both political parties and the media by bringing common sense to the table. He’s engaging in an exorcism of stupidity and their response is to run around like chickens without heads. Sad!

        • swanspirit says:

When you put the words president, and imbecile in the same sentence, I immediately think of Obama. He uses big words, but he is essentially stupid, and arrogant. He could never speak without a teleprompter.
I cannot forget, it used to take him, and his advisory team three days or more to react to any situation. They invented the phrase “leading from behind” for Barack Hussein Obama.
I bet POTUS is so far beyond the horizon of Hussein’s understanding, he looks like a distant star.

          • lateblum says:

I never really thought of bronco bama as an imbecile. I also never thought of him as smart. I thought of him as a puppet who couldn’t/wouldn’t make a statement or take a stand unless and until the ones pulling the strings, told him what to say. He was only smart enough to know he could be replaced. He wanted the perks and was incapable of actively doing anything of substance to merit those perks — $$, golf, trips, hobnobbing with the glitterati, etc. He was invested in keeping those perks. So keeping the myth – promoted by media – alive was his one and only job.

          • Lulu says:

Bronco is just smart enough to be the frontman in a con game. Not stupid. Not smart. Mediocre.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is beginning to have second thoughts about removing disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein so quickly, it was reported on Saturday.

Nine days after The New York Times first revealed that Weinstein paid millions of dollars to settle a number of harassment claims made by women, the academy expelled the former Miramax chief under enormous public pressure.

Since scores of women came forward with allegations that Weinstein harassed and assaulted them, a number of other high-profile Hollywood figures have also been accused of similar crimes.

That has left the academy with a major dilemma – what to do about the other mega-stars who have been accused of misconduct.

‘Harvey opened the floodgates,’ a male Academy member told Page Six.

‘Now the Academy’s drowning in a tide of s***. They don’t know what hit them.’

Didn’t Wolff already admit this and his publisher put up a disclaimer to protect themselves from libel? The publisher should have just put up “this book is do-do” and been done with it. Wolff even libelled Tony Blair who is furious.

      • Anthony says:

Yes he did. The disclaimer is hilarious. Something like “Everything in my book is bullshit but it will keep you angry enough to go to the polls in November. “

  41. Anthony says:

Good morning, TCHers! It’s 10 degrees in NYC and I finally cleaned the slow cooker after last night’s meal, so I’m sitting down with my cup of covfefe watching the morning “news” shows…

So far, they’re all harping on The Book. There’s a lot of wringing of hands, gnashing of teeth, tearing of hair etc because our President has been deemed insane and unbalanced buy that guy who looks like Dr. Evil (with cool glasses). Chuck Todd is at his most unhinged. His petulance is reminiscent of my nephew when he was 4 years old and hadn’t found out that people could see right through him yet.

So I listened, and as usual tried looking at it through a different lens than my own. I decided to pretend I was a died in the wool Democrat, and believe everything they say about this deranged fool and the 2016 election. My immediate feeling was “How could we possibly have lost?!” So I figured the Democrats must have run the race ‘on the cheap’, not taking advantage of the thousands of dollars I would have donated had I been brain dead and a Democrat (pardon my redundancy)

I did a little digging, And found out the cost of the election. It seems the Democrats spent $1,184.1M to Trump’s $616.5. Yes, almost double the amount, and their Best and Brightest STILL lost. Here’s the numbers:

So, in effect, Dr. Evil, the MSM, the MSM and the Never Trump Republicans spent twice as much as Trump, sent their best and fiercest candidate to the fight and lost. Bigly.

The only conclusion I can come to is that the Democrats and Trump haters are in such disarray that they can’t even beat a crazy person. That’s a big relief to anyone who is worried about mid terms or the upcoming 2020 election.

Hope you all are safe and warm, and I’ll see you all later!

Wolff so bad not even Megyn Kelly will host him

That’s interesting because she is known for begging, borrowing and stealing any news “get,” or interview, on whatever the hot topic of the day may be. That her ratings are so low and she has stumbled on some big catches, such as Vladimir Putin, would seemingly make her even hungrier for such interviews as they could boost her ratings. But she’s saying no.

    • Lulu says:

Wolff has now proven that if he gets in the vicinity of anyone of any importance, celebrity, wealth, etc that he will take any tittle-tattle, overheard asides, bullshit, coffee grounds found in their garbage can he went through that he will blart out a lying, hallucinating, libellous screed. He was paid to do the whole smear and not just by a publisher either. He is a well known liar and fabulist. He is “reporting” events with people that never happened and he never met. I almost think it is a leaks oppo by the White House to see who is talking to whom about what. I think Wolff, who came out very defensively today, may realize he was used like a rented mule. Dumbass.

If half of North America ices over year round, I think the liberals will stop whingeing about global warming.

Meanwhile, about a week ago it got really cold here in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It got to 8 below zero. So I got curious . . . where was the global warming? Was it hiding somewhere? I looked up on the internet some real-time temperatures elsewhere at the very same moment it was being 8 below zero here in Ann Arbor, Michigan. And here is what I found (copy-pasted from a little comment I sent somewhere at the time . . . )

“On to another subject. Man! it sure is cold here in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is officially 8 degrees beLOW zero. Where is all this global warming I’ve been talking about? Not here.

So where is it? Maybe its hiding somewhere? I am looking up the right-now real-time temperature in various cold places. Google, type, google . . . so let’s see . .

In Barrow, Alaska it is 11 degrees aBOVE zero, right now. That’s 19 degrees WARMer than Ann Arbor.

In Nome, Alaska, it is 18 degrees aBOVE zero, right now. That’s 26 degrees WARMer than in Ann Arbor.

In Anchorage, Alaska, it is 11 degrees aBOVE zero, right now. Again, warmer than here.

In Fairbanks, Alaska, it is 17 degrees beLOW zero. Colder than here and thank goodness for that.

In Yellowknife, Northern Territories, it is 27 degrees beLOW zero. Some things still make sense.

How about Russia? Yakutsk–minus 41 which makes sense. But its 34 in Moscow,
31 in Saint Petersburg, 7 in Murmansk, 9 in Archangelsk.

So I think I found where some global warming is hiding itself . . . around coastal Alaska and in European Russia.

    Reply 28 December 2017 at 12:50 AM”

Meanwhile, if most of the glaciers , ice fields and ice-cap edges continue overall net-net melting and losing mass and volume, then the earth is still building up net heat-increase and using that increased heat to keep melting ice . . . . which needs heat to melt it.
But if the on-land ice-formations of the world persistently stop shrinking, or even re-growing, I think we can say the warming has stopped or reversed.
