Shithole: An extremely dirty, shabby, or otherwise unpleasant place.

Welcome to Haiti

It appears that Democrats have hitched their electoral hopes to a shithole.

Haiti IS a shithole. It was a shithole before the earthquakes and hurricanes. It was a shithole back when the French were growing sugar cane on big slave plantations. It was a shithole when the slaves rose up and killed the French slaveowners. Even Haitians think the place is a shithole.

If you live in a country that has problems with cholera and dysentery, you live in a shithole. El Salvador is a shithole. So is most of Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. South America has lots of shitholes, and Central America is like Mexico’s septic tank. We even have some shitholes here in the US of A – like Baltimore, Detroit, and Oakland.

So what Trump was asking is why we are taking so many people from countries where everybody is poor, illiterate, and completely unprepared for living in a modern industrial society? Why aren’t we just taking the cream off the top? When did taking the dregs of the world become official policy, and why?

Trump calls Haiti a shithole, and 99% of America agrees with him. So now we’re supposed to pretend that every country on the planet is a paradise? If they are such great places, why do all their people want to live here?

Democrats are stupid.

This was Lulu’s comment on the last thread:

Trump again says out loud what everyone already thinks. My favorite reaction is Vincente Fuchs (name in the original German) going insane because everyone thinks of HIS (not sending their best) cartel-opoly failed state first and he knew it. MS13-Salvador and the Ebola continent were just on the tip of his tongue. The funny thing is he had just talked to a bunch of good-looking, intelligent, and sane Norwegians and wants some of them instead of Vincente Fuchs’ cartel torture horde. Who wouldn’t?

I think this is what Scott Adams calls “thinking past the sale”. Trump is talking to the congressmen (and their tattle tale aids) like The Wall, cutbacks on immigration, extreme vetting, lottery for terrorists, etc is already a done deal and now he wants “Norwegians” (brilliant imagery) instead of tatted, swarming, shit-hole, drug dealer/sex fiend migrants. Again Trump is saying what everyone is already thinking but forbidden to say due to strangling PC standards. And CNN can now be called the Shit-Hole channel because it is their favorite and most used word.

All while the Dem’s Russia, Russia, Russia/Fusion GPS scandal just keeps getting worser and worser.

As usual, Lulu is brilliant with her summary of what it all means.

      • Lulu says:

I’ve been trained by Adams and Trump to listen a little differently and not run off on screaming tangents. Or not as often anyway. I do find it funny that the Dem/VileProgs/GOPe call most of the US not in elite little enclaves “flyover”, backward, lazy, drug addled, racist, etc which is a pussified and sniffy version of SHITHOLE. So there are good shitholes which all seem to be foreign and bad shitholes which seem to be upstate NY, most of Texas, and Idaho and Oklahoma and the American South. It is a very selective bigotry with a big dose of oikophobia directly correlated to arrested development and rage against Daddy who seems to be embodied in Trump saying NO. But the forbidden has been said. Why are THEY trying to turn the US into a shithole? And what is wrong with talking about it without throwing a wall-eyed fit?

        • mothy says:

I think he also appeased supporters who feared he was betraying them with CACA compromise. Don’t know if he said it, and don’t care. Doubt he did as shithole doesn’t carry the humor of his usual digs.

Should I be upset because I grew up in Queens. I’m not sure how to take this. 🙂

    • DeniseVB says:

Queens is one of my favorite buroughs ! My daughter lives there (Ridgewood) now, near my youngest gd’s paternal grandparents who immigrated from that sh*thole Honduras. 😉

    • Anthony says:

No you shouldn’t. Dr. G was referring to the condescension from certain NYC elitists. There are many in my neighborhood who look down on the other boroughs. Ironically, they all moved here from the boroughs they now abhor. We natives hate them for their duplicity.

And THIS is why Vincente Fuchs threw a fit. The Wall will make Mexico deal with their own problems instead of dumping them like a broken cesspool on us. There is absolutely no reason that beautiful Mexico with millions of nice talented people can’t be a first world society if they deal with criminal thieves, psychos, and con-men like Fuchs et al who have run it into the ground.

      • DeniseVB says:

Isn’t it funny, those people who burn American flags in our country to protest Trump or something, would probably be executed for burning the Mexican flag in Mexico City to protest their sh*tty gov’t.

A friend who works for the London Times (theater critic) who has unfortunately turned into an insufferable socialist brags “There’s London, and then there’s the rest of England”. She is a big fan of Sadiq Khan and would probably lick Soros from head to toe if given half the chance. I’ve known her since freshman year when she was an exchange student at NYU.

When I asked her if she couldn’t see the irony in her perspective, she actually couldn’t. She really believes that the rest of the country means nothing at all, and London is all that matters. I reminded her of her Birmingham roots, and she said “It could burn to the ground for all I care”.

  28. taw46 says:

Once again our President has started a conversation about what is wrong with our immigration policy. I came across this tweet from Savion, defending Africa. Just read some of the responses. Many are from people who were born there, lived there, have traveled there. They say most of the countries are shitholes. As we all know, there is massive corruption from the police to the politicians. The left knows it, too, so of course they want to change the subject to Trump is a racist.

  29. swanspirit says:

My son served during a USA military action in Haiti. He flew on Jimmy Carter’s helicopter. He said Haiti was one of the filthiest places he has ever seen. And this was during the Nineties.
Who was Trump insulting? The leader s of these countries, who allow their people to suffer in shitholes, while they live in luxury, and jail anyone who opposes them. Not to mention exploitation by wealthy American politicians. ( Hello Hillary and Bill)

Just why is it these countries continue to fail, while others survive, and thrive? We pour aid into these countries by the millions. It never seems to benefit the people. Bringing hundreds of thousands of them here won’t help those countries, but it will hurt us.

So, our POTUS doesn’t use euphemisms when speaking in private. Tough shit.
All the pearl clutching, and couch fainting in the world, won’t make what he said untrue.

      Travel AdvisoryJanuary 10, 2018Haiti – Level 3: Reconsider travelUC
Reconsider travel to Haiti due to crime and civil unrest.

Violent crime, such as armed robbery, is common. Local police may lack the resources to respond effectively to serious criminal incidents or emergencies. Protests, tire burning, and road blockages are frequent and often spontaneous.

The U.S. government has limited ability to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens in some areas of Haiti. U.S. Embassy personnel must receive permission from the Embassy security officer to travel to some areas of Port-au-Prince. Embassy employees are discouraged, and in some instances prohibited, from walking in city neighborhoods, including Pétion Ville. After dark, Embassy personnel are prohibited from visiting establishments without secure, on-site parking. Travel outside of Port-au-Prince is prohibited after dark. Embassy employees are under a curfew from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. The use of public banks and ATMs by Embassy employees is prohibited at all times. Embassy personnel are prohibited from using any kind of public transportation throughout the country.

Read the Safety and Security section on the country information page.

If you decide to travel to Haiti:

      Avoid demonstrations.
Arrange airport transfers and hotels in advance, or have your host meet you upon arrival.
Do not physically resist any robbery attempt.
Visit our website for Travel to High-Risk Areas.
Enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive Alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency.
Follow the Department of State on Facebook and Twitter.
Review the Crime and Safety Report for Haiti.
U.S. citizens who travel abroad should always have a contingency plan for emergency situations. Review the Traveler’s Checklist.

  40. John Denney says:

A few years ago a missionary team from our church went to Haiti. The team included a doctor, a dentist, and some teen girls.
The team partnered with a Haitian pastor. Besides doing medical and dental clinics, we also sponsored funds to dig a well for his rural community.
The well didn’t get dug. Just before the team arrived, the well-driller had called the local pastor saying his machinery broke. However, as the pastor was driving the team from the airport to his town, he saw the driller drilling a well at a different place.
The pastor had built a block wall kitchen at his church, and acquired a stove and refrigerator, and hired a guard to watch the place. The stove and refrigerator were stolen; the guard claims someone was very sneaky and stole them when he dozed off.
The teen girls were saddened and appalled to see girls their age coming to the clinic with children, but no husbands. There is no marriage, only rape. A guy sees a girl he wants, he just rapes her and moves on.
The women, being mothers, do all they can to feed their children, planting crops to help out. The men don’t help with the work, but help themselves to the crops. Men are bigger and stronger than women.
Where’s Oprah when you need her?

    • DeniseVB says:

I enjoyed Wonder Woman very much and I want to see it again because Gal was pregnant when she filmed it. When she was called back to reshoot some scenes her belly was way too big and they had to CGI it out of those scenes with the skimpy outfit 🙂

      • John Denney says:

        Ooo, I didn’t know that.

I watched it on New Year’s Eve, and while I enjoyed it, and especially her, I found it lacking as a whole, though I can’t put my finger on why, exactly.

Somehow, it made me think of an older movie I had seen that had a strong female character, so I re-watched it, “The Last Legion”, and found it most enjoyable and satisfying.

The “me too” crowd should want to restrict immigration of Haitian MEN and their rape culture.

Women’s movement mourns death of 3 Haitian leaders

Before the disaster struck last week, (2010 earthquake) a survey of Haitian women and girls showed an estimated 72 percent had been raped, according to study done by Kay Fanm. And at least 40 percent of the women surveyed were victims of domestic violence, Bien-Aimé said.

Myriam Merlet, Magalie Marcelin and Anne Marie Coriolan, founders of three of the country’s most important advocacy organizations working on behalf of women and girls, are confirmed dead — victims of last week’s 7.0 earthquake.

Coriolan was a political organizer who helped bring rape — “an instrument of terror and war,” Charles said — to the forefront of Haitian courts.

Before 2005, rapes in Haiti were treated as nothing more than “crimes of passion,” Charles explained. That changed because of the collective efforts of these women activists — and others they inspired.
