I heard a clip on the radio yesterday of Dickinson Durbin claiming no POTUS has ever used such language before. I wish I could have seen the clip, can’t imagine anyone could say that with a straight face. I assume he was in an area protecting him from lightening bolts, what a whopper of a lie.

Court: The FBI Must Turn Over Comey’s Memos By Next Week

A federal judge has ruled the FBI must turn over memos written by former FBI Director James Comey about a meeting with President Trump. The decision comes as a result of a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, which has been seeking the documents for months.

  6. Lulu says:

The spin that no “Norwegians” want to immigrate to the US is a lie. It is also a lie that Europeans all think they live in a socialist paradise and never would leave. They won’t let them in! They are shuffled to the bottom of the list because they are educated, speak English, and are self-supporting and would assimilate naturally . I could give lots of examples including petroleum engineers from Scotland, an English forester, a French restoration specialist carpenter/builder (who I know and looks like Alain Delon) who can only work six months a year in the US and a Welsh stonemason with the same goofy setup, and on and on. Of course none of them work for peanuts or cash or sign up for Medicaid and free housing and would guaranteed to vote Dem. And I would bet that a lot of Norwegian, Swedes and Danes would immigrate too just like they used to do. I really think we need to start calling out the Dems and media on being such enormous liars.

    • BjornTheBorg says:

My father is Norwegian (born here but both parents from Norway). I have aunts, uncles, and cousins there. My younger sister has moved to Oslo (in January, no less). I know of nobody in Norway who wants to immigrate to the US, although there are plenty who are happy to spend a winter vacation in Florida. YMMV

      • Lulu says:

OK. No one would want to immigrate here. Ever.

      • swanspirit says:

You must not know the right people. Here in our little family oriented mid Atlantic seaside resort, we get applications from all over Europe, from young people who want to come here and work and live.
Usually they can only get a summer work visa, but so many of them overstay their Visa’s, or get them extended, or marry locals, there are too many to count. But these are very hard working, ambitious people, who want to stay and be American. Those summer work visas are the only way they can get here, so that is what they do. Plenty of Norwegians among them.

        • taw46 says:

Same here in KW, lots of young Europeans who come over on work visas. They, too, are hardworking and would like to become citizens.

    • Somebody says:

They play the same game with Eastern European countries. It is really hard for them to be allowed in unless they come in as brides or aupairs.

    • mothy says:

How will work requirements for medicaid effect illegals? Was that part of the plan?

      • Lulu says:

They work for cash and don’t report it while signing up for Medicaid and all the other benefits. They can’t show up for two “jobs” at the same time. What are they going to do when told their Medicaid “work” clashes with their cash job? They supposedly don’t work so they can show up anytime? Right? Or they use one ID for freebies and another for paid labor and fraudulent tax returns but they can only be at one job at a time. They will drop off Medicaid rather than be caught and go to jail in states that want to downsize their Medicaid rolls and high tax/high benefit states will have to shave the rolls down as Obamacare ups the percentage that these states have to pay for expanded Medicaid at the same time they are having the a budget crunch with SALT taxes getting nixed on federal tax returns. It is a classic budget squeeze play. Without federal and state and local freebies low wage workers (cash or black market workers) can NOT live on what they make.

    • taw46 says:

Liars all. The 1965 Act changed everything, even though Ted Kennedy, other politicians, and the media swore up and down it would not.

“During debate on the Senate floor, Senator Kennedy, speaking of the effects of the act, said, “our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. … Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset”.[12]

“The proponents of the Hart–Celler Act argued that it would not significantly influence United States culture. President Johnson called the bill “not a revolutionary bill. It does not affect the lives of millions.”[16] Secretary of State Dean Rusk and other politicians, including Senator Ted Kennedy, asserted that the bill would not affect US demographic mix.[2]However, the ethnic composition of immigrants changed following the passage of the law.[17][18] Specifically, the Hart–Celler Act allowed increased numbers of people to migrate to the United States from Latin America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.”

    • Ann says:

Last time Hubby and I were in France he had long discussions with several of his cousins (first cousins once removed, barely 20) that wanted to move to the US. One kid I told point blank to work on his English, the other one I told to learn English – if they want to come over to the US.

One of the cousin’s father (my husband’s first cousin) has a business in Paris that basically employees that entire branch of the family. His kids know how hard it is to make it in France. The other lives in a village in Normandy and he knows there are few opportunities for him. He wants a “better life”.

I told Hubby if they ever get serious about wanting to come over that we would put them up for a month or so while they got their bearings.

To the point about eastern Europeans… yes, that happens too. Two of my niece’s friends (brothers) from Poland have been in the US for years now (I hosted one of them on Christmas Eve 10 years ago, so they have been here at least that long) – one is a Chemical Engineer that works for Exxon (he’s been everywhere in the world, not just the US but this is his base), the other one teaches at one of the “better” colleges in the US. I don’t know if they ever applied for citizenship, but they are grateful for the education and learning experiences here (they are now in their early 30s).

Both anecdotal, but young people we know from different parts of Europe.

      • DeniseVB says:

My retired friends who moved to Valencia, Spain (after much research finding “the perfect” city and country), a 6-month application process that included financial, security and health checks, for a temp Visa. Since they behaved for first 3 months, were issued a 1 yr Visa which can be renewed. Whew, huh? So far the experience has been everything they hoped it would be. New culture, new adventures and surprisingly affordable (well, compared to DC living).

This has always been about impeachment. Russian collusion was the excuse used to get investigation started. Hopefully Nunes and Grassley will succeed in uncovering and providing evidence of Obama administration corruption at DOJ & FBI. Obama emailed Hillary at homebrew server so investigation had to let her skate to protect Obama from being exposed.

  8. Lulu says:

Gorka just said on Fox that the intelligence parts of FBI and DOJ were used to target US citizens who disagreed with or were opposed to Obama. Nunes will expose who ordered it. Then he named off all the WH flunky criminals like Rhodes and Brennan or even Obama. I think we already had figured this out but didn’t know there was proof already. I hope this is true and it is just being rolled out carefully. Look! Shithole!

I’ve seen many references to our country being just as divided as those years leading up to the Civil War. I’m sure Lincoln must’ve been despised by those same “lefties”. There’s a whole literary genre of alternate histories had the south won. Pretty interesting stuff….

      I think I found a alibi/excuse for Pelosi.

    • Ann says:

I don’t think she’s buzzed. I think she’s losing it (assuming ever had it). We really do need term limits and mandatory retirement ages in Congress.

      • Cisco says:

The more I think about that sounds about right.
When the tax bill was passed she had a episode.
She walked right by the visual aid that was going to show how only the rich would benefit and just started rambling.
Mandatory retirement ages are just about everywhere except Congress.

I can’t imagine THIS IS NOT A DRILL ! But I don’t have a smartphone, did the air raid sirens go off too? I love following Hawaii News Now, thanks for the tip. In fact, they had better coverage of the east coast snow storm last week than our local news ! Also, seems their political coverage brings out the Trump supporters in their comments…….you are definitely not alone in paradise 😀

      • taw46 says:

Who wouldn’t be scared? I was scared over a hurricane coming, this was so much worse. I read some people were dubious because there were no sirens going off. Is that true, no sirens? Not tied in with the alert system? Crazy.

        • Island Girl says:

That is correct, no sirens which is the one thing they normally can manage. Every 1st business day of the month the tsunami sirens test at 11:45 am and this is month 2 where the nuclear threat sirens follow right after, it is freaky and yep that is the first thing my calm, cool and collected hubby pointed out, the lack of the sirens. And dear DeniseVB my dumb phone is normally OFF but hubby’s was shrieking, what a day. Good night:)

    From BBC News.
Menstruating girls banned from crossing Ghana river

Pupils in a school classroom, learning French, in GhanaScience Photo Library
Girls living near Kyekyewerein (not pictured) are affected by the ban
Ghanaian schoolgirls have been banned from crossing a river while they are menstruating – and on Tuesdays.

The ban, apparently given by a local river god, has outraged children’s activists, especially as girls must cross the river to reach school.

It means girls in the Upper Denkyira East district, in the Central Region, could miss out on their education.

Sub-Saharan Africa is already struggling to keep girls in school during their periods.

Africa Live: More on this and other stories
School students breaking the stigma around periods
Rape and no periods in North Korea’s army
The UN’s scientific and education organisation, Unesco, estimates one in 10 girls in the region does not attend school because they are menstruating, while a World Bank report notes that 11.5m Ghanaian women lack the appropriate hygiene and sanitation management facilities needed.

Unicef’s menstrual hygiene ambassador Shamima Muslim Alhassan told BBC Pidgin that the directive, which applies to part of the River Ofin, violated girls’ right to education.

“It seems the gods are really powerful aren’t they?” she said.

“Sometimes I think that we need to ask for some form of accountability from these gods who continue to bar a lot of things from happening, to account for how they have used the tremendous power that we have given them.”

Central Regional Minister Kwamena Duncan has given indications he will coordinate with the Ashanti regional minister to find a solution, BBC Pidgin reports.

The River Ofin serves as a boundary between the Ashanti and Central Region.

Many cultures have myths and taboos around menstruation.

In Madagascar, some females are told not to wash during their periods and in Nepal some women are forced to sleep in huts away from the rest of the family.

    • gram krakka says:

Jewish law requires the practice of niddah. While menstrating a woman is “impure”. After bleeding stops she must restore purity by taking a ritual bath, mikvah. Sexual relations and any physical contact between spouses is prohibited for between 7 to 12 days during the menstrual cycle.

Many cultures have customs and rituals related to menstration. Going through mental-pause was no fun with the dreaded hot flashes, but what a relief to not bleed through my clothing anymore.

And further, does he believe he could swap 300+ million of us for 300+ million Chinese, or Indians, or Syrians, and this would still be America? The sad thing is people really believe that shit he is saying. And he is not alone.
