Not Watching It Open Thread

Mom was watching it on television. I told her she would be better informed if she just turned it off. She left it on so I came home. I don’t need to watch a propaganda infomercial for gun control. The insipid play-by-play is the worst.

Giving up our guns to stop crazy people from killing people with guns is crazy.

Another day, another mass shooting. I don’t even pay attention any more. It’s like rush hour traffic: you deal with it and move on. Nothing to be done

Something to do while we’re still waiting for the Las Vegas shooting update from 4 months ago. 😉 The anti-gun ghouls are out on social media blaming Trump. They still won’t answer my question “how would your gun control law have prevented today’s tragedy?” It’s usually easier to block me than answer that question, win-win.

Of course the Valentine’s Day Massacre “jokes” are stupid.

Mentally ill people’s actions should determine all of our public policies and what we can and cannot have as tools, weapons, vehicles, legal policy, how we walk on sidewalks, etc. The incompetent rule the roost.

For the first time my relative did not say a word about gun control, but believes we need to do something about the mentally ill. I am shocked, we actually had a conversation. Maybe others will finally see it, too.

Brought back a memory…of the insane running the show, but of course this was just a movie.

  12. Cisco says:

So, it seems that this very police commander had previously and pointedly made it clear that the low bails and revolving door jailing of repeat offenders in Chicago was a significant risk to public safety has been murdered by one of the very people he was referring to, a repeat gun offender who got out of jail after serving only fractions of his various sentences:

    • Convicted in 1998 of armed robbery, gets a 16-year sentence, meaning he should have been in jail until 2014 with that, but . . .

    • Charged in 2007 with being a felon in possession of body armor, possession of a defaced firearm and possession of heroin; received three years in prison on the gun charge, records show, so added to the original 16 that he should have served the remainder of as a parole violation, he should have been in jail until 2017, but . . .

    • In 2011, was charged with resisting an officer and battery, and convicted of battery, so should have been a third strike (life in prison?) but given 30 days of community service, and then . . .

    • Convicted of drug possession in 2014, received a two-year prison term, so a FOURTH strike, and thus again should be serving a life term, but at the very least should have served all of his previous terms as a result of the parole violations, and so should have still been in jail until 2019.

So, riddle me how this guy was even out of jail in order to commit a murder of a police officer, while wearing body armor and possessing a firearm, both things forbidden to felons, much less a repeated and multiple felon?

Maybe Rahm and company can help me out with the math here?

The story of this criminal is simply horrid. And from everything I’ve heard today, Commander Bauer was a greatly admired and caring officer. Does Illinois have a three strike policy for convicted felons? Well, it doesn’t matter. This thug should’ve been in prison and not out on the street. I hope he finds himself back in prison for the rest of his life.

    Just to know I agree.
Here’s a little gun-control problem France is having.
“During the raids that led to the arrest of the policewoman, one of the pistols was recovered while the other has yet to be found by authorities.

🤔A police executive remarked on the case saying it was “incomprehensible” why the female officer would steal the pistols from the department, which are easily traced, as opposed to buying weapons on the street. 🤔

The availability of weapons on the street in France has become a worrying issue for authorities as several drug raids over the last year have revealed military-style weapons in the hands of criminals.

Last November, in the regions of Eure-et-Loir, Eure, and Yvelines, police raided drug dealers and found several anti-tank rocket launchers, automatic rifles, and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
Anti-tank rocket launchers, automatic rifles thousands of rounds of ammo.

If it does go away it will be “secret” as to not harm the sterling reputation and “honor” of the FBI. Spit. This bastard, as well as Mueller’s henchmen, are legal eagle terrorists. F’em. Throw them in prison.

Let’s drug them so they sit still in school for fat, mean, lazy, dumb teachers who bitch non-stop too! Let’s lump the ones with 140 IQ into classes with 85-100 IQ and keep them behind and frustrated so the low-slow achievers don’t feel bad about themselves. Let’s punish them for having “impure” aggressive thoughts like cookie “guns” and rough-housing. Let’s terrorize five year old boys!

Muslim Federal Judge Rules Two Items Of Sharia Law Legal

Judge Mahal al Alallaha-Smith of the 22nd District Federal Court of Appeals ruled this morning that two “critical issues for Muslims” in Sharia Law had to be abided by in the United States court system because of the systematic infusion clause and because the 14th Amendment guarantees them the rights guaranteed by other states.

Dems Finally Fall Out of Love with Bill Clinton

t took 20 years, but the Democrats have finally caught up with the rest of us. They now see what’s been right in front of their noses all along: Bill Clinton is a disgusting parasite who should be kept as far away as possible from the levers of power.

Until her suicide last week, most people had never heard of Jill Messick, which by all accounts, was how she wanted things. She wasn’t a star, but she babysat for them, as all film producers must, and she knew first-hand how ugly fame can be.

Messick was Rose McGowan’s manager at the time of her now-infamous 1997 meeting with Harvey Weinstein, which ended in a hot tub. Although at the time of the incident, McGowan seems to have felt comforted by Messick’s response (“She held me,” McGowan told The New York Times. “She put her arms around me,”), over time, McGowan came to see Messick as complicit.

In her new book, Brave, and on Twitter, where McGowan has raised an “army” of nearly one-million followers, she has lashed out at Messick for arranging the meeting with Weinstein, for failing to support her, and for pressuring her to settle with him. For taking a job ten months after the incident at Weinstein’s company, as Messick did. For being part of the problem.

Messick had her own version of events, but she kept those to herself. According to a statement from her family, Messick believed in the #MeToo movement and supported its goals, and she hadn’t wanted to undermine it by contradicting her former client. She was also battling depression and bipolar disorder.

On January 31, Weinstein’s defense attorney, Ben Brafman, released an email from Messick solicited by Weinstein before The New York Times broke the scandal. In the email, Messick said that in 1997, McGowan had admitted to her that “getting into that hot tub was something that she did consensually and that it hindsight it was also something that she regretted having done.” But McGowan had never called the incident “rape.” Ben Affleck, with whom McGowan also discussed the encounter soon after it occurred, confirmed the same.

“Fuck you you fucking douche bag loser from hell,” roared McGowan on Twitter at Weinstein, in response to the release of these emails. Under an avatar image of herself with a raised fist, McGowan regularly whips her “#RoseArmy” into a frenzy.
