I Wanna See It! I Wanna See It!

Mom asked me if I wanted to go see Lady Bird or Winchester with her. I came up with some different options. We’re negotiating.

Your mom would probably prefer Red Sparrow of the two. I wouldn’t give J-Law’s movie a dime, but that’s just me.

I would opt for Death Wish. I saw all of them back in the day. I think Willis can pull off the lead, but I will always remember Charles Bronson in those movies.

Whichever movie you end up seeing, enjoy. Enjoy the movie and the company!

Death Wish trailer made me grin.

If it has a good opening weekend the Left will freak. Watch it if possible.

Been a little busy here. My heat pump died

    • swanspirit says:

Oops that wasn’t the end of the story. My heat pump, ran out of Freon, and since it was at least 25 years old, the Freon it uses is R22, which is being phased out. What used to cost around $79, for a tank of Freon, now costs $900.00, and will be no longer available at all in 2020.
SO, I had the heat pump replaced, which set me back a considerable sum, and seriously stressed me out.
It is comforting to have the new one, the air quality in my house is markedly improved, the heat much more even, and thankfully right before the windy weather. Now all I have to do is pay for it!
According to the stats for my new heat pump, it will cut my electric cost by 43% to 47% I hope that’s true.

Well, it happened again. The lights went out last night. It was so absolutely boring sitting in the dark with nothing to do except listen to the wind and rain. And having to use a flashlight to walk from one room to another. I started wondering how people were able to survive before electricity. Yikes!

We got out an old transistor and began listening to the news. It was horrible. So many people stuck out there someplace. The LIRR suspended service because of fallen trees on the tracks and people were sitting in the trains for hours. They might still be there. I haven’t checked the local news yet. People were also stuck in their automobiles due to bridge closings. My goodness, they were just trapped in their cars for hours with no place to go. What if they had to use the bathroom? Maybe I shouldn’t ask.

I told Hubby that we were pretty lucky after all. At least we were in the warm, dry house, even if it was dark. At about 8:00PM we were sure the lights weren’t coming back on, so we went to bed. I fell asleep listening to the sound of the wind rattling the bedroom windows.

The power came back early this morning. Thankfully, I was able to make the morning coffee.

Liberal utopia: Seattle small business owner begs leaders to stop crime

From Dori Monson at MyNorthwest.com: Bo Saxbe has become the mouthpiece for a collection of small businesses and food truck operators in Seattle. They have a simple message to city leaders: Help.

Saxbe says crime has gotten so bad within the past six months, that businesses are experiencing extreme pain. And worse, no one will do anything about it.

      Let me guess.
      Dem’s run the city?
In Chicago business owners on Michigan Avenue, the premier shopping spot, have hired their own security.
The guards walk on mobile patrol.

      • lateblum says:

And they doubled security in tourist and high density locations on the Mag Mile as well as in the Loopdue to the lawlessness. So what happened? Last night someone who brought a gun into Water Tower Place and fired it during an argument. Although thousands of people who were visiting this renowned city mall were terrified, no one was reported to have been injured. Of course, with the hundreds of security cameras throughout the mall, no one has been apprehended. That’s Chicago for you. All the security in the world and the city can’t capture squat.
In fact, you can end nearly every news report of gun crime with the phrase, “No one has been arrested at this time”.

      • Cisco says:

        Didn’t know this earlier.
A little shooting in the jewel of Chicago’s Michigan Avenue.

    • Constance says:

I’m from Seattle and it is completely run by Progressives. They keep predatory homeless people in the city parks as pets. Republicans don’t even run for office anymore. I just got my property tax assessment for 2018 and it is $10,500. for a 3000 square foot (that includes the damp basement) 1948 brick rambler. The Democrats took over the state government by one vote so now they are planning a state wide carbon tax. Their Progressive followers are so damn dumb they can’t figure out why rents keep going up! Surly it can’t be the constant property tax raises it has to be the evil landlords. We have a $15./hr minimum wage which has pushed out a lot of little interesting businesses. All we have left is standard issue corporation businesses. I hate what my city has become. I do think it is good that Progressives believe in abortion because considering the gene pool…..

And to think Chicago is called the Windy City.

      • mcnorman says:

Yup, my kid told me that it was 35mph gusts which is nothing compared to the average 70+ we get during the spring. Silly DC.

        • Mt.Laurel says:

We get wind storms on a regular basis especially with nor’easters and this was moderate. about the same as a tropical storm – but not to hurricane level. They closed the local and fed government offices and schools because they knew it was going to last up to 48 hours and power would go out and then they would have a nightmare with people stuck on the roads, on trains and in schools . . . . Not having used a lot of snow days – most – I think decided just not to risk things. And goodness knows the Metro would be useless. The heavy rain had come through the night before – I know I drove home on the beltway and up 270 in it – but it has been worse and it was not snow. The gusts are usually much stronger in the burbs and along the eastern shore – the ones in my area in Montgomery County were clocked at up to 75 and were sustained at 60 for much of the day. I had a text notice from our office building in Virginia in the wee hours that power was off yesterday and was still off today. I lost internet and had no email even using LTE but did not loose power other than a bit of up and down – but our lines are buried and we loose power far less often than many neighborhoods.

This is why I was down and my beloved president Friday…for him to talk solutions to gun violence that have to do with laws limited guns is STUPID for many reasons not limited to — of course — the fact that human stupidity will always let guns get in the ‘wrong’ hands and that gun violence is NOT the real problem just symptom of great problem which is societal failure of the worst kind. We have a near complete moral failure in families, media promoting violence, rape, lack of police, lack of mental services–THIS is why we have gun violence it ain’t the guns baby. I just LOVE my president because he doesn’t talk ‘political’ he talks truth and the other day I heard some bullshit political talk and I didn’t like it. Probably told him to say it who knows but STAND firm and speak the truth and if they don’t like it they can stfu because I love the truth and I love President Trump. Oh, and everyone I know is buying lots of guns so the idiot plan of limiting guns is–like every other stupid idea–failing bigly.
