Virginia is For Lovers, 2018 U.S. Senate Edition

I love Nick Freitas, he’s challenging Tim Kaine this fall. Corey Stewart is also good, yet the VA-GOP will probably f**k this up, make them kill each other in the primary and Tim wins, again. Let’s just elect Nick now…..

Here’s Corey, gotta up your game buddy,

Republicans need to get their crap together and decide before the primary on one candidate.

    • DeniseVB says:

VA is GOPe, the party sucks in our state. I keep trying to get into the little “cliques” disguised as OFFICIAL REPUBLICAN this and that, but they’re GOPe. No wonder Hillary won our state.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

Extra effort and $$$ is going to Virginia from both DNC and GOPe to make sure they stay true to the uniparty global socialist theme so loved by the enclaves of over indulged elitists in their bubble wrapped world. They really want the swamp to extend outward as much as possible around DC.

Ted Cruz has a “real” Beto challenging him this fall, but I know Ted will contain himself and be a gentleman.

      • mcnorman says:

That’s too bad. Beto’s mommy got popped by the FBI for laundering lots of cartel money through the family business. She plead to the felony. Of course it was all mistake. wink wink

Beto’s daddy was a county judge for many terms. He finally got run over by a car riding his bike. Beto is a legacy just like that Bush boy. When Beto was first put up to run against that nitwit Silvester Reyes who was on an intelligence comittee and couldn’t tell the difference between sunni and shia.

That mommy detail caused a stir and he immediately backed off. By the next run, people had forgotten (cuz Dems count on that) and he took the seat from the nitwit.

Beto is a mama’s boy. He played base with a rock group so Rolling Stone gave him the thumbs up. He went to Columbia and got his lit degree. Then came home to establish a web company (which now scrubs everything possible that might be perceived negatively). He’s from a sanctuary city which has been his legacy to take. He will take it from Tedward because the Dems are going to push very hard this time around. The libs in Texas, particularly Austin just luv him.

This sanctuary city runs on cartel money. Hell, they even snagged the top FBI guy here a few years ago. The wife was working in Mexico for the cartels. He retired early.

These NY politicians just keep, bit by bit their…..
You know what, I can’t think of the words, but look at what these sneaky bastards are up to.
“A.9978 would require those purchasing guns or applying for a firearm license in New York to waive the confidentiality of their medical records concerning mental health for any other states they have lived. Supporters of the move stress it would allow New York to review those records when considering license applications.”

    • Ann says:

Hubby has been playing around with getting his permit for years now. He wanted to move so he’d have an easier time of getting his permit, but we have not found “the” house yet. He’s got permits in 36 other states.

He talked to an attorney two year ago about his permit (he’s a landlord, so will get it pretty smoothly), and then goofed around and did nothing. (Our county takes a year.) He finally scheduled his class, so there is that.

NYS already has the mental health thing. That is for allowing the records from other states when you move to NYS and apply for an NYS gun permit. You don’t need anything like that to buy a rifle or shotgun (of which he has plenty).

I swear he was hoping reciprocity would pass Congress and he would not have to go through the NYS rigmarole.

Well, in anticipation of a major market correction, I spent the last four trading days liquidating nearly all of my privately held equities. I’m looking at bonds and am now officially a bear. Seems weird: i’ve owned stocks since I was in college, but not so much any more. Even my mutual funds are pretty conservative. I feel old. And grumpy.

    • Myiq2xu™ says:

My investment portfolio looks like Mother Hubbard’s cupboard.

    • Ann says:

I’m selfishly hoping for a major correction so I can buy! buy! buy! I missed out on the two-second crash after Trump was elected, and have been mostly in cash for a few years now. I’ve felt that stocks have been inflated for several years. Man, did I miss out on a fortune being a scaredy cat.

    • DeniseVB says:

We liquidated in Nov 2008. EVERYTHING and paid our house off. It was the Obama effect. Everything is tidied up in liquid accounts insured by the FDIC. Savings, checking, credit unions, oh my. We won’t get filthy rich, but we’re cool for Old Denise and the Marine. Even Special Greg is all set if we outlive him.

Haven’t even thought of the market til I got an email from Gab.ai, they’ve got $5 million just from donors, 10 mil, they may go public. Kinda got an itchy checkbook finger to get on that bus 😉 Deep breath, I really don’t trust any of them.

      • elliesmom says:

The market has been on a roller coaster lately, but the rate of return is still way better than anything you can get from a bank. We own our house outright and the house my kids live in. We could live on SS and pensions if we had to so we’re riding the coaster.

        • Constance says:

Same here! And I’m so glad to not have my ex along for the stock market ride to retirement. I needed to take a chance on the market after getting divorced at 62 and therefore loosing have the retirement savings I had expected. But the bet paid off for me.

    • gram krakka says:

I am holding just enough cash in my IRA portfolio to hopefully get me through 2018 & part of ’19. If there is a major correction this year I can jump back in stocks with some of it if I feel lucky. I strongly dislike bonds and am usually fully invested in stocks. Having enough cash on hand to get through a year helps me ignore stock market volatility and not try to time the market other than to sell when higher to fund my anticipated income needs for the next year. This has worked for me for 15+ years.

I’m holding out till 70 to collect SS. By waiting till then SS should provide me with enough income to live on & my IRA can be my “mad” money. My mom & four of her siblings lived to be 89 – 102 so I plan on not getting too “mad” with my money. I figure that I need to live to at least 83 for it to make cents to wait to collect SS. That is about the extent of my gambling on anything.

Having been raised by parents who grew up “living off the grid” in early 20th century rural America, I was taught how to “squeeze a nickel till the buffalo bellows”. I know how to live below my means.

      • BjornTheBorg says:

I’m the ripe old age of 38, so I’m pretty sure there’s no hope of SS for me — it’s pretty much guaranteed to be insolvent by the time I’m 70. For the moment, I’m hanging on to BRK.B and a few other stocks in which I have confidence, but I’m going conservative for the near term. I just can’t see these valuations making sense when we’re pretty certainly headed for an inflationary push and some sort of trade war. It’s easy enough to get back in the game.

        • elliesmom says:

Over time the stock market trends up. As long as your investments are diversified, if you stay in, you’ll make money. Especially if you’re only 38, you can afford to take the risk. In the long run, bulls make money and bears make money. It’s only pigs who get slaughtered.

Please explain your odd obsession with that blog. It’s really ….. weird.

You might say we’re a “spin-off”. Most of us “met” each other there.

      • Ann says:

Spin-off or no, it is a weird obsession. The Klown has always said he likes crazy-chicks and his constantly going over there proves it.

Every once in awhile I take a spin around the web and check on Jeralyn, Boston Boomer, dakinikat, MadamAB, Uppity, RD, Katiebird and the rest of the Hillary supporters from 2008. I’m not obsessed with any of them. It’s just like checking up my old high school buddies. I don’t want to be “friends” with any of them again, but I’m interested enough in how they’re doing to pop in now and then.

Speaking of crazy bitches from my past, a woman I have not seen or spoken to in 15 years contacted my son looking for me. Despite my instructions to never divulge anything about me to anyone he gave her my number.

            This won’t end well.
