This Just Keeps Getting Better And Better

Old and busted – Kim Yo Jong:

Kim Jong Un’s sister is stealing the show at the Winter Olympics

If “diplomatic dance” were an event at the Winter Olympics, Kim Jong Un’s younger sister would be favored to win gold.

With a smile, a handshake and a warm message in South Korea’s presidential guest book, Kim Yo Jong has struck a chord with the public just one day into the PyeongChang Games.

“I hope Pyongyang and Seoul get closer in our people’s hearts and move forward the future of prosperous unification,” she said in her guest book message, referring to the capitals of North and South Korea.

Seen by some as her brother’s answer to American first daughter Ivanka Trump, Kim, 30, is not only a powerful member of Kim Jong Un’s kitchen cabinet but also a foil to the perception of North Korea as antiquated and militaristic.

New hotness:

Trump accepts offer to meet Kim Jong Un

President Donald Trump has agreed to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the White House announced, setting the scene for an unprecedented encounter between two nations that only recently threatened to wipe each other out.

The talks would be the first between a sitting US president and a North Korean leader and will take place by May, according to South Korea’s national security adviser, Chung Eui-yong, who delivered the invitation to Trump after a visit by his delegation to Pyongyang earlier this week. Chung said Kim had offered to put Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile program on the table.
The White House said Trump had agreed to the encounter. “He will accept the invitation to meet with Kim Jong Un at a place and time to be determined,” said White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders.

So all those people who said Trump was gonna get us all killed by getting tough on North Korea must be dancing with joy, right?

Right?

Like a band of old dogs who can’t learn new tricks, they immediately went back to the script written before them on their teleprompters (or whatever), i.e., Russia, Russia, Stormy Daniels, Russia, Hope Hicks, Steve Bannon, Russia, Robert Mueller, Russia. So sick of these elitists pigs.

    • Anthony says:

And it continues this morning. They’re ‘All fired up and ready to go!”, per instructions from former potus, community organizer and butthurt treasonous little bitch, emailing on a private server from his D.C. bunker

” If President Trump can truly solve this problem, that would be going down as a great President and there’s no way around that, that is the reality here……up next latest developments in the Russia probe.”

Wow. I don’t have the stomach to watch Schmoe and the shrew, they’ve had all night to figure out how to attack POTUS on this. I’m sure they will be there charming selves with an extra pinch of nastiness this morning.

    • Anthony says:

I’ll save you the anguish. I tuned in to watch them eat crow, but instead they dug their heels in. According to The Shrew and her head bobbing chattal, the meeting with Li’l Kim is nothing more than a deflection to take our minds off Stormy Daniels and the steel tariffs. The wannabe rock star stopped bobbing his head long enough to say (bray?) “And he did it without running it past Congress! This meeting was set up in a completely ad-hoc manner blah blah blah blah…” I’m sure if I stayed there long enough it would eventually get back to Russia

      • Somebody says:

Without Congress, WTF? Joe is clearly being dumbed down by osmosis.

As for the shrew’s claims of a distraction, that’s all she’s got? How many hours did she have and that is her best shot? Wow VJ is really slipping.

        • Anthony says:

VJ is a little off her game these days with all the Fast & Furious dirt about to hit the fan. Joe has been dumbed down because thats what happens when you screw crazy people. I have no sympathy for the man I once actually liked (in person, not on the air)

          • Somebody says:

Brilliant move. So were the tariffs, too. Amazing how so few really grasp what is taking place. As so many establishment Republicans and Democrats continue to peel away fro the Trump policies, it becomes pretty clear that a whole new “political” movement is unfolding. Call it a third party, or not, I really feel like the 2020 election is gong to be very different.

    • Somebody says:

Very different how driguana? Share your thoughts.

I agree there are some interesting alliances forming right down the middle. Which btw is where most of us fall, some slightly right of center, some slightly left, but the vast majority of us are centrists.

      • driguana says:

Precisely my point, Somebody. It is only now that “the middle” has a real voice and seems to becoming a stronger, more focused “force”. Unfortunately, we currently do not have a political “party” that truly represents us. I have believed all along that Trump is not really a Republican…yes, a conservative but a very middle-of-the-road one. Since the establishment Republicans have disowned him, what’s left? This may have been Trump’s plan all along, as he tends to think several steps ahead of anyone else….well, expect we crawdadders!! No, really, I think he may be the future Moderate Party!

        • Anthony says:

He’s a New Yorker, who like most of us (not the free shit army that grabs all the headlines) is the same as a Blue Dog Democrat or a Rockefeller Republican. Economic conservative, including knowing when to spend more in order to make more, and neutral (live and let live) to liberal on social issues.

He has redefined and updated the GOP, albeit reluctantly among hard core establishment types, and exposed what the Democrats have turned into, thus forcing them to eventually return to the center.

That said, I wouldn’t be one bit surprised if he doesn’t create a third party early in his third year. Mid terms are too precarious right now to do that.

        • Mt.Laurel says:

One approach to entering a new market is to determine if it makes more sense to take over a company or organization that is already established that the start from scratch with a brand new company. Even if not doing a boom business, often it is the most cost effective and efficient way to enter a new market especially when you desire/need results within a shorter span of time. I think DJT has been watching for years to see if it would be R or D which would make the best option to restructure and rebuild the system. Both have gone off the deep end in many ways leaving more and more people stranded in the middle and being strangled by political correctness. Both the major parties have ignored the normal distribution. Sudden and.or sharp skews in one direction or the other are rarely good. In the end, I think he determined it was most prudent to go with R. The extremists on the conservative side were often thought to be so by much of their own party and the independents . it is easier to build a coalition leaning a bit to the right since most people are more comfortable with a less drastic and more conservative overall approach based on sound principals. It also leave more room to negotiate those areas where policy needs to be a little further along the line in either direction.

In the “This just keeps getting better and better” theme, we’re looking at another snowstorm Monday and Tuesday of next week. The official GS birthday is March 12th. Since the motto of the Girl Scouts is “Be prepared”, I’m not going to dump the plastic bin that’s sitting in our shower. This last power failure lasted 14 hours, and the containers left over from my pond trip the storm before were enough to flush. The bin is still full, and the shower is large enough to just push it into the corner. I’m making a grocery list to replace the “no cook” items we’ve eaten from the pantry. I’m willing to stand out in a snowstorm to cook one hot meal a day. Yesterday it was Italian sausage rolls with peppers and onions cooked in beer. A specialty at Fenway Park. That was lunch, and the power came back on before dinner. Elliesdad was calmer this time. Ellie was better, too, until she saw something with big green glowing eyes just outside the fence Wednesday night. Then she peed in the snow on our deck and ran back in as fast as she could.

    • Somebody says:

I don’t blame Ellie, I might have run inside and found a corner to relieve myself if I were her! Scary, wonder what it was?

Glad ED is calmer, sounds like you all are making the best of it. In a few weeks spring will have sprung and you will both be enjoying evenings on your deck overlooking the lake for months to come! You and Ellie will resume your walks too😎 Hang in there spring is just around the corner and the ❄ will be a distant memory. In the meantime bundle up, brrr.

    • DeniseVB says:

Oh EM, when you have time, share that sausage roll recipe with beer. Dh is a diehard Sox fan, but I’ve never made sausage Fenway Park style 🙂 Cooking with beer makes everything tastier !

      • elliesmom says:

Saute the sausages in some olive oil. Kayem makes the official Fenway sausage, but any Italian sweet sausage will do. A small package has 8 sausages. Gently, just brown them, no sear. Add slices of bell peppers. At Fenway that would be some red and some green. Slice an onion into half moons. Add some chopped or sliced garlic. When the veggies are limp, add a can or bottle of beer. Cover and let simmer for about 20 minutes. You can keep them simmering longer. Just keep adding beer if they start to lose the juice. Fill up what we call a sub roll. For Helen, that would be a hoagie. 😉 You can add a can of tomatoes, but at Fenway they don’t. I’ve been inviting the guy across the street to come to lunch, and he always says no, but the smell of the sausages cooking finally sucked him in.

        • DeniseVB says:

Thank YOU em ! Just in time for my grocery run! I like that they it all simmers in beer for awhile instead of having the peppers and onions ready at the exact moment the sausage comes off the grill. Can’t wait to fix this !

I am so happy I cancelled it. Soon it will be the Obama and Michelle shit show. I know it isn’t funny, but for some reason that made me laugh. Wouldn’t it be funny if it bombed? They aren’t terribly entertaining. What’s Mooch gonna do, sing and dance?

      • DeniseVB says:

I thought for sure Oprah would have set Michelle up with her own talk show by now. I just don’t think MO has the work ethic to do much of anything, and Oprah is a shrewd businesswoman with a midas touch. Like Ellen who makes celebrities out of internet video “stars”.

        • Underwhelmed says:

Oprah won’t be forgiving either of them any time soon. She destroyed her brand when she abandoned Hillary for Obama (bros before hos, remember) and they did what they always do. Pretended she doesn’t exist when she couldn’t be used any more.

          • DeniseVB says:

Oprah really never got involved with politics until Obama, so that was a surprise right there. Next big surprise is that she endorsed a guy who wasn’t even qualified to run Harpo, much less a country.

        • Mt.Laurel says:

I am not so sure Ope is that good a business woman. I have often thought she got where she is the same way Barry did but without the whole Kenya/Indonesia/Hawaii slant. Someone has been sponsoring her and most of the business side is really handled by others. She just takes the credit for things that work and shoves those she blames under the bus or they disappear off the face of the earth. In fact when Barry arrived on the scene, the reaction of people reminded me of how the media played up how everyone was just so wowed by Ope. Yet she never really seems to do much herself but talk and tell people what to think and call them names when they disagree with her.

I admit the only time I ever saw her show was when I was held prisoner in various waiting rooms but she just has never sounded all that bright. After all the accolades and worship – I was expecting more. But nope. Nada. Obnoxious and full of herself, yes. Fawning over silly New Age crap, yes. Mean and nasty as a starved pit bull in a ring, Yep.

          • mothy2017 says:

            She tells it like this
She was on a date with either Siskel or Ebert and at the time it was Phil Donahue’s game. She was debating syndication or going with a network. He persuaded her to own her show. It took off and was placed at 4pm which is prime real estate for local stations as it leads into local news where the stations make bank. She delivered what the advertisers crave. Stay at home affluent mom’s. By the end of her run she was charging a fortune. Many were losing money by carrying her. By then she was a billionaire. She was very wise to take the advice of the movie guy. I doubt any distributor/producer will yield that much power again.
I do think Joanna of Chip and Joanna could headline a show. I’d watch.
