Hey elliesmom, you’re not alone !

    • elliesmom says:

One of the people who responded positively to my FB post is the friend who harangues me all the time about never leaving the house without my phone. Now that she’s fostering a teen, cellphones are the bane of her existence. She’s not brave enough to just take the phone away, but she’d love it if the government did it for her. I would have taken the phone away and not given it back when I found out the kid was sending naked pics of herself to “make friends” in her new school.
I am, of course, just trying to make a point with the kids. When there’s an issue you care enough to protest about, the first thing you do is change what you have personal control over. If it’s really about their safety, then kids should put buckets out in school for kids to drop their phones in. They have control over phones themselves. No laws need to be changed. No constitutional crisis needed. If they all surrendered their phones, it would send a clear message they want to be safe. But, of course, they won’t do that. They’re just being useful idiots for the gun control lobby. It is a good way to shut them up, though. 😉

More proof, kids don’t have a clue what they were doing yesterday. This isn’t free speech or expression, this is just dumb.

Conor Lamb Exposes Dems’ Duplicity On Gun Control; Are Student Protestors Paying Attention?

Guns: While viciously attacking Republicans for opposing gun control, Democrats are celebrating the victory of gun-loving Conor Lamb in the Pennsylvania special election. What would those student gun control protestors say if they knew about that?

CNN Moves Chris Cuomo to Prime Time

CNN is turning to one of its morning anchors to shore up prime time.

Chris Cuomo, the outspoken co-host of “New Day,” who has gained prominence — and received some right-wing blowback — for his coverage of the Trump administration, is set to take over the network’s 9 p.m. slot on weeknights starting in the spring, CNN said on Wednesday.

    • dm says:

Yeah, I read that this morning with disgust, but not surprised. Once upon a time, when he first started out, he seemed smart, refreshing, and down to earth. Somewhere along the line, he got bought…it’s bad enough Trump has to fight the media, the social media giants, and the democrats but fighting his own party??? Simply makes me want to hurl.

Will that make the pups cousin half siblings to mine? 😀

It’s a beautiful area; used to be really nice people around.

It sounds like one of the Jr. High schools here. Except it’s the African American students causing “trouble” for the rest of the students and teachers there. It’s the school my gbabies are supposed to attend – when that time arrives. I hope it either changes by that time, or my son and his family will have moved to a more civilized school district.
In our school district, there is a “suggestion” from some of the residents that no more white teachers be hired and pnly AA teachers be considered for positions. They’ve even “suggested” that some recent hires be “let go” in order to make room for more “diverse” teachers.
Suggestions in this case = demands. and Diverse = African American rather than real diversity.

it is time for sessions to go. maybe Guilani in his place. Personally I do not think a lot of him for actions in his personal life. But he did do a great job of cleaning up NYC and after 9-11.

Oh McCabe needs to be FIRED. He can appeal and get dragged through the mud if he chooses. Sessions has zero credibility if McCabe isn’t fired. I’m sick of this “we are all equal but some of us DC swamp rats are more equal bull shit.

I just want to share a comment from a parent about the student walkout at the local high school in my town. It appeared in the town’s online news today.

“My child told me yesterday that students in her class were planning to protest. She said she wanted to join in. I told her: Protesting something you believe in strongly is awesome. However, if you want my blessing to protest anything, you need to educate yourself first. I told her that she needed to be able to define current gun laws, gun terminology(i.e. “assault rifle, semi-automatic, automatic, bump stock”), as well as the history/rationale for Second Amendment. She also needed to be able to identify at least 3 pros and cons for gun legislation- to basically understand both sides of the debate. I wanted her to know how different states have different laws/the correlated gun crime rate, what gun laws are in other countries/impact on crime, how changes of gun laws in other countries had impacted violence rates, and how the definition “mass shooting” used for statistical purposes has changed over time in some places. I offered to show her resources, such as newspapers and interviews with people on both sides of the debate. She also needed to be able to articulate an objective of the protest- a Instagram photo op to virtue signal instead of attending school is not a worthwhile objective.
She declined, saying she wasn’t that interested in the topic. Fine- I told her then she needs to keep her body in class during the protests. Protesting something you don’t understand does not make you a hero. It makes you a follower. Allowing peer pressure to dictate your actions makes you an idiot.
I would be curious how many students in these pictures could articulate any of the above points.”

As you can imagine, there were some very negative reactions to the comment. One person even called this comment/position “insufferable”. I commented that the people who found the above “insufferable” might be afraid of independent and critical thinking and were threatened by questions and challenges to their own viewpoint. I wondered if my comment of support might be found to be too extreme for the locals. But I just saw it was posted.

our best man when we got married was there. Eddie was a quiet, easy going guy. In fact I dated him before my husband. He never talked about his time there. One night we were all out when this recruit just out of boot camp, stated some BS about the battle. The kid was not at the battle. I never saw Eddie so angry. He jumped up and went across the bar after him. We stopped him but I never forgot it
