    Stormy Daniels…

nope, doesn’t have the same ring to it!

As a young mom (ok, of teenagers) during the Clinton/Monica scandal, I never stopped liking him, but I understood how GWB beat Gore in 2000. I voted as a Dem for GWB then, I was just exhausted and Gore was just too boring 😉

  4. DeniseVB says:

I watched Susan Hayward in “I Want To Live” on TCM this afternoon, which pretty much swept the Oscars in 1959, you just can’t compete with 1950’s California gas chambers 😉 My heart is still racing. The movie was remade in 1963 with Lindsay Wagner. Too bad they didn’t remake this in the 2k’s with Judith Light and just stuff an Oscar in her bag. She’s still young enough to convince me a hooker gone bad would be believable 😉

    • Dora says:

Great movie. I watched it too. Susan Haywood was always one of my favorites.

I was happy when she won the Oscar for that movie, but she actually deserved it the year before for ‘I’ll Cry Tomorrow’. Her acting in that picture was brilliant.

      • DeniseVB says:

Splendor in the Grass on now. Have had TCM on non-stop in the mom cave since the Stormy freak show on the cable newsies. I’m like Natalie Wood in the bathtube scene 😉

      • helenk3 says:

agreed. she was a wonderful actress.
she and Roslyn Russell were 2 of my favorite actresses

  5. Anthony says:

Stormy better milk this for all its worth. As I’ve said before, hooker years are like dog years. It’s either this gig or she’ll have to open a convenience store.

I think the key phrase here is “our working class”, emphasis on “our”. The majority of the working class aren’t theirs, and they have no interesting in even acknowledging them much less helping them.

  8. DeniseVB says:

TCM is hawking this as Natalie Woods’ *First Adult Role” Really? Didn’t she screw Whathisname in West Side Story?

    http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/16108/Splendor-in-the-Grass/

    • 49erDweet says:

      Maybe they meant “adulterer” role?

    • Mt.Laurel says:

West Side Story was a few years later. I believe (🎅🎄🎁) they mean this was the first film where Wood was no longer considered a child actress . I think Shirley Temple’s first “adult role” was considered to be in Fort Apache.

Fun fact. Shirley was only 10 years older than Natalie.

I just read the article. So she allegefly got paid $130K for a 1 night stand. If it really happened, that should’ve been enough. I didn’t see any mention of her Cali political run. Maybe the producers wanted to keep that on the downlow so it wouldn’t make things too obvious. Also, Eric Holder lives in California. Just sayin’…

      • Mt.Laurel says:

Spent 12 years in Catholics school, grew up near more than one Catholic college, and have priests and ministers in the family. Most priests I know have just never crossed those lines, some that have been accused and I scratch my head, and then there are those that you are not surprised at all because there was something about them. There are also those you did in fact realize there was likely something going on but have no personal info – and those people that did often liked the attention of having a priest befriend their kids more than admitting there was a problem and they needed to cut the strings and report.

Personally I had to deal with a drop out seminarian pestering me in high school and embarrassing me in class with talks about dreams he had. My classmates were very supportive and the guys – found him in the hallway a couple times. But he persisted. I reported him to admin and school board but the school principal (layman) was reluctant to do much. The assistant principal (a nun) backed me up on just not going to that class and reporting the problem to the diocese. My parents also backed me up. I finally just told Mr Pedo to pound sand (well actually I dumped my lunch on his head in front of the whole school). At that point, the Bishop found out and the Mr pedo was fired and there were charges filed. Last I heard Mr Pedo did not make is out of his accommodations with 3 hots and a cot.

All that said, Frankie hits me a part of the pedo problem. Not the solution.

        • Anthony says:

I was an altar boy, and was asked if I wanted a “special blessing” Father Belger flipped out when I said “On a scale of 50 to 100, (glanced at collection plates), just how special is this going to be?” This is not to say that all priests are pedophiles, but I’ve encountered a ton of them over the years.

          • Mt.Laurel says:

Have no doubt. The alter boys and choir members were always the easiest targets. I have found, personally, that certain monastic orders seem to have far fewer incidents. As with Rabbis (studies show they have exceptionally low rates) , there is a much stronger taboo in some religious sects and orders and just a nod and wink in others. I am leaving out those groups such as the goat loving contingent that really skew the numbers upwards.

    • DeniseVB says:

Isn’t that a violation of one of the Commandments, Honor thy Father and Mother ? Isn’t that an “impeachable” Pope offense?

Seeing some interesting pushback from some of my liberal friends on the march for gun control. Some have noticed that this sort of thing mostly happened because white people were shot. The number of black kids shot looks like this every week, sometimes just on a good day. No kidding sherlock. And it’s not legal guns that are the issue. Nor even guns at all. But they still want to get rid of legal guns just the same, because reasons.

Historic churches install metal detectors to prevent terrorism

If Alexander Hamilton wanted to visit the church where he’s buried today, he’d have to leave his pistol at home.

Historic Trinity Church and St. Paul’s Chapel have installed metal detectors at their entrances, citing terrorism fears.

Good idea. This way when someone comes in the door, guns blazing, no one can do anything to stop them. Then we can have another gun protest. Yeah!
      /s

      • DeniseVB says:

If it’s a church they’re targeting, how easy would it be just bring some assault pressure cookers to the next church supper ? 😉 Evil will find a way. There’s been numerous stories buried in the media of good guys with guns stopping bad guys. Churches, malls, banks and sometimes it’s only about pulling that gun that neutralizes the situation.

believe me I do not dismiss them. I think of them as the current edition of the Hitler Youth and they were dangerous to their country. Remember george soros and few others. They turned on their families and their neighbors.
this “kids” should be watched and the danger they pose should be paid attention to

    • BjornTheBorg says:

There is a problem for us, though. These kids are getting a lot of media coverage, and it’s pretty clear that the majority of politically-active teenagers are committed to the Democrat agenda and opposed to those nasty Republicans who take NRA money and don’t care if schools are shot up. As satisfying as it may be to yell “You’re wrong and stupid, just shut up!” at them, we’ve had little success in putting forth a message that attracts younger voters (at least on this issue). If the kids actually vote in the midterms, we’re in a whole lot of trouble. Luckily, most young people won’t bother to vote, so we can hope that all the kids at those marches will forget about all of it by November.

      • helenk3 says:

they have the right to speak although they would take that right away from the rest of us. What I am saying is they should be watched and have attention paid to their actions as they are dangerous. Germany paid a very high price because they did not.

      • Somebody says:

Actually Trump did well with GenZ, not so much with millennials. GenZ is the most conservative generation since the silent generation, according to studies. 59% of generation Z describes themselves as leaning conservative. Their survey answers lean far more to the right also. The younger they are the harder right they lean. Gen Z are those born after 1995. They were a well kept secret (don’t fit media narrative), but clearly helped push Trump over the top.

Lots of articles have been written about how Gen Z leans right, has a stronger work ethic, detest tattoos, piercing, snowflakes, PC bullshit, on and on. The millenials are just over the top and Gen Z doesn’t want to be like them similar to how Gen X didn’t want to be like boomers.

The Parkland kids are NOT representative of Gen Z. The media wants you and them to think so, but they’re not.

BTW, some of the Millenials will start to become more conservative as they age and start families, at least that is what usually happens. People become more conservative with age. Millennials are very liberal though. Gen Z starting out so conservative hasn’t escaped the attention of the D’s. Seems to hope to offset them with 3rd world immigrants.
