Laura Ingraham Announces Week Off Air As Advertisers Flee

Fox News show host Laura Ingraham announced on her show late Friday that she is taking next week off, after almost a dozen advertisers dropped her show after the conservative pundit mocked a teenage survivor of the Florida school massacre on Twitter.

Eleven companies so far have pulled their ads after a pushback by Parkland student David Hogg, 17, who called for a boycott of her advertisers.

Hogg took aim at the host’s show, “Ingraham Angle”, after she taunted him on Twitter on Wednesday, accusing him of whining about being rejected by four colleges to which he had applied.

Hogg tweeted a list of a dozen companies that advertise on “The Ingraham Angle” and urged his supporters to demand that they cancel their ads.

On Thursday, Ingraham tweeted an apology “in the spirit of Holy Week,” saying she was sorry for any hurt or upset she had caused Hogg or any of the “brave victims” of Parkland.

But her apology did not stop companies from departing.

They teach cops “Never give up your gun. If you do you are dead.

As far as I am concerned, Laura Ingraham’s first and only mistake in this matter was when she apologized. She should have hung tough and given Hogglet nothing except an extended middle finger. She would not have lost a single listener or viewer. In fact, she probably would have increased her audience. As long as her ratings held firm, the advertisers would return or would be replaced.

WWTD? Trump never apologizes. When Trump had his infamous debate fracas with Megyn Kelly, just about everyone (including me) assumed he would apologize or walk it back later. That’s what politicians always do. But not Trump. He kept fighting. He doubled down.

He won.

That’s how you do it.

Yep, she apologized. She lost. She’s toast. Funnily she was always one of the people insisting Trump apologize for things all along his campaign and after. It’s war. What part of war do you not understand Laura.

    • Venus E. Lee says:

That’s why while I loathe the left’s tactics I have little sympathy for Laura. She’s weak & she constantly advises Trump to be weak, too. She isn’t a good ally.

      • Anthony says:

Once again, GMTA. Once she apologized, I let go just like I did to Hillary when she capitulated in 2008. She bills herself as tough, independent and fearless. Then, she gives in to the whim of an arrogant Soros tool and apologizes for speaking the truth?? He chummed the water with his Nazi bullshit, and she “took the bait faster than Kevin Spacey on an episode of To Catch A Predator ” (h/t Greg Guttfeld)

Oh when will the weak ever learn. In today’s political/media/mental hospital of a world we live in ONLY the strong will survive if you live on the RIGHT side of the tracks. She is DEAD to me my god apologizing if bullshit I would have gladly walked away from my job rather than apologize to those idgits. She forgot the most important rule of Trumpism which is CARRY ON and FUCK ‘EM. NEVER BOW TO THE ENEMY. AND, for course, NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR DOING OR SAYING THE RIGHT THING. EVER.

Again, just what in the hell is going on at Parkland?
Last week a girl was arrested for pulling a knife and threatening another student.
Now this. I think there’s a bigger underlying problem at Parkland.

    • elliesmom says:

The high school has an enrollment of over 3000 students. It’s as diverse as they come- both racially and economically. A kid pulling a knife and another posting threats is just a normal school day for a school this size. It wouldn’t be newsworthy if the shooting hadn’t happened. Modern school policies keep a lot of kids in school who would have been expelled or sent to alternative places for juvenile delinquents in the past. When I was teaching high school in a school almost that size, there was an alternative school we could send kids off to if they couldn’t be trusted with sharp objects. No frills. Just come to school, take the basics, and get a diploma. No sports, no other extra-curricular activities. No assemblies that would put a lot of people in the same place at the same time. Lots of cameras. Some kids actually thrived in that environment. When they were offered their seat back in the regular high school, they turned it down.

David Hogg will eventually step in his own excrement. He’s too arrogant not to. He’s not getting all this attention because he’s really bright, charismatic, or a leader. He’s a useful tool, and not much else. Tools need to be maintained or they lose their effectiveness. The MSM has no incentive to clean up after him when there’s another useful tool to pick up and use instead.
I don’t usually do boycotts. I prefer to buycott instead. It’s more fun to give Chik-fil-a the best sales day ever than to stop buying Nikes. But I’ve ceased doing business with any of the businesses who have taken their ads away from Ingraham that I’ve been giving my business. If they got me angry enough, they’ll get a lot more people than they expect. Given the success of the reboot of Roseanne, and the new interest in bringing back Last Man Standing, companies have to be seeing there’s an untapped audience for their ads. Laura will take a week off and beat herself up for being such an idiot. New companies will pick up the ad space, and the companies who left will lose sales. It’s good virtue signaling will have a price tag

    • 1539days says:

      Depends on the taxes

    • elliesmom says:

A share of AT and T costs the same wherever you live. Some things like housing are cheaper depending on where you are, but the cost of a new car or a TV set doesn’t change much from location to location. We expect teachers to continue to go to school themselves, and they pay for that out of their own pockets. When I worked in industry, if I was required to go off and take a course to keep my job, the company paid for it. We don’t expect doctors, lawyers, and engineers to just get by. We expect to pay them more for their years of training and expertise. If we want competent, smart people to go into teaching, we need to pay them more than they can make working at McDonalds.

I wouldn’t walk out of a job over pay if I had signed a contract agreeing to work for that salary, but I wouldn’t spend what it costs to become a teacher if my salary prospects didn’t make it a good investment, and I was a young person. When I left industry to teach, my salary had already paid the cost of my education several times over. My kids’ education was paid for or in the bank, and I was married to a man who made a really good wage and we had a “nest egg”. Even then, my first year out I made more than $40,000, and that was a long time ago.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

I can tell you people are really starting to get desperate here in swampland. The few state politicians I know in Virginia and Maryland that are Ds or GOPe are very nervous. They have sold their souls and are nervous that the little guys and gals that they are expendable. Some of those that bought into the resistance are starting to see that they are fodder – not many – but enough – so the true believers are doubling down on outing those that are not pulling their weight. There is a lot of pressure related to who is going to get $$$ for the fall elections. They know if they do not get a huge blue wave in November that they are in real trouble – so expect things to get far worse. From the emails that flutter through the one work account because it use to belong to one of the now politicians – they have several more disruptions planned.

The swamp creatures were also very upset that the real numbers got out about that last march of the month with Snotzie. They had truly thought they could get near a million people and many of those that came had to be paid to show up. Goodness knows the local stations spent a lot of time promoting the march and talking non stop about the march and putting out dire warnings about total traffic gridlock (that never came about – in fact – it was not worse than your average weekend).
