Here is some of that new “Rock-n-Roll” music that all the kids are listening to.

Simon and Garfunkel at the Golden West College folk rock lyrics night class got me my high school degree. Love

One day my teenage daughter was going through my music collection, and she found my recording of the concert in Central Park. She was upset she and I hadn’t gone to the concert. I pointed out to her she had been 7 years old and her brother a baby so going to a concert in NYC wasn’t an option for either of us. After some laughter, she made me promise if Simon and Garfunkel ever performed within a radius of miles that included NYC, I would take her to see them. Knowing they had broken up and were rumored to hate each other, I pinky swore I’d take her and pay whatever the tickets cost. Several years later my phone rang, and it was her telling me I owed her $400 because she had just bought us floor tickets to see them in Boston on their reunion tour. I paid up because if I hadn’t my pinky would have fallen off, and off to the Boston Gardens we went. They were wonderful, and we had a great mother/daughter experience. The best part was when her son was about to promise me something, she told him, “Be careful what you promise your grandmother because she always keeps her promises, and she expects you to keep yours.” That was worth the price of the tickets.

Nice mood music. In totally off-topic news I think I finished my taxes! If so it will be the first time I didn’t file an extension in 20 years.

It was a more innocent time, before everybody who isn’t a cisgendered straight white male became “woke” to how oppressed they were by cisgendered straight white males.

All good music this morning. I have always loved Roberta Flack. I guess my favorite of hers is ‘The First Time Ever I saw Your Face’. I enjoyed the movie it was from too. Ah memories.

Years ago I used to be so fascinated with the subject of life in space. I watched all the shows they had on about Roswell. I lost interest in the subject after a while, but this is interesting. Buzz Aldrin passed a lie detector test.

‘There was something out there’: Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin ‘passes lie detector test after recalling his encounter with alien life’ during historic 1969 mission to the moon

They sure are having trouble getting this story straight. Last night it was the USA firing missiles and now they claim it was Israel.

The Women’s March has a new cause. Prostitution is a choice ya’know, protect a woman’s right to choose what to do with her body or something…..

    • Lulu says:

That is some deeply fucked up shit. Not being allowed to sell your children for “sex work” will be the next outrage.

      • DeniseVB says:

I just noticed the Women’s March logo looks like the Antifa flag. Same ole creepy lefty symbolism that reeks of socialism.

    • jenlyntx says:

And THAT my friends is why feminism is dead. 25 years ago we dealt with sexworkers (i.e. prostitutes) at a NOW conference in Chicago and my friends and I were appalled. Drugged out, needle marks, sick looking psychos telling me why their ‘lifestyle’ was a choice and I had to endorse and embrace this a form of feminism. I said hell no, called the president (at that time it was Pat Ireland) in her room at the Hilton and she told me to get over myself. We left and never looked back. That and them telling me only black women could be leaders. Democraps and Feminazis are one and the same–money and power hungry idgits. It is a game people a game…and we have to refuse to play while calling them out on it 24/7.

      • DeniseVB says:

I was pretty much done with NOW when they told Sarah Palin to go home to her husband and kids, especially the newborn with special needs.

        • jenlyntx says:

Again, feminism like current democracy in this county is run like nazism. You can speak if we like what you say if not you may die.

I am glad I don’t live in California. Although other states are getting just as crazy.

    • jenlyntx says:

Straw giving without permission GUILTY go to jail. Breaking into America, lying and using her money, cheating the system, voting illegally LEGAL get held up as hero. CA is shithole state.

The splintering begins. HIs money, like that of Jack Demsey (I didn’t know who he was and in reading saw he was just another lonely, greasy-unkempt nerd boy creating his own clique) are so superior and therefore virtuous in all realms, go off into nah nah land so deep that even fellow superiors (or parasites) see the danger. It is truly a religion with all the same crazy ass shit. It happens over and over and over in history. These self appointed and creditialed “the best and the brightest” are the most average nuts (maybe below average even) that humans throw out cyclically and they think they are thinking things never thought before. Nope. Just the usualy human crap.

she is not running for president.
gee she might have been the first American fauxindian woman president

    • elliesmom says:

That’s not what she really said, though. She said she “plans” to finish out her full six year term if she’s re-elected to the Senate. But “plans” have a way of changing. She has not ever said, “I am not running for POTUS in 2020.” Even when what she’s saying sounds like complete idiocy, you can count on her having chosen her words carefully. She won’t run if the DNC tells her their thumb is on the scales for someone else. She only ran for the Senate when the MA DC assured her they’d clear the path for her, which they did. She might be willing to run in a truly open field, but not if the DNC already has a chosen one, and it’s not her. She won’t play “Bernie” to Kamala. She’s a complete loon, but not politically stupid.

      • Anthony says:

We better hope Eric Holder gets jailed before then. His relocation to California after he left the DOJ set off a few alarms with me. No doubt he’ll be working to get Kamala Harris elected.

      • DeniseVB says:

When Hillary was re-elected to the Senate, she ran on serving her full term too. Then 2008 happened.

  17. Dora says:

Enough with the so-called White House chaos, already

All the breathless palace intrigue and tireless Washington rubbernecking is coming from a bunch of people whose only prayer in life is to see Mr. Trump fail.

And Mr. Trump is the one getting lampooned as some kind of reality-star soap-opera president running a dramafest White House?

    • Lulu says:

When the media consists of age twenty-something with the emotional IQ level of tween girls who know nothing about nothing but cheer-leader camp intrigue and butt-hurt you must assume this is the apex of their reporting ability. They make the Kardashians look mature and thoughtful.

So I was scanning headlines this morning and noticed that the left has moved on from hoping Trump Tower would collapse in a major inferno to blaming it has no sprinkling system. Who’s going to tell them a woman was the construction executive for the Tower ? Hee, hee.

New phone scam, recorded message claiming they are authorized to locate someone and you are supposed to push 0 or dial some number even if you have no information about said person. They claim they are authorized to get all your contacts, blah, blah, and you better dial zero to basically go on record as to what you know about the garbled name inserted in the recording. Mine was somebody Mitchell……sounded like Andrea Mitchell, which is funny. Kind of clever using names people might know, but in the moment can’t quite connect. I, of course, hung up.

I wish all phone solicitors were required to wear shock collars, so you could push a button to zap them when they call trying to scam you. I had a Microsoft tech support guy that kept calling my cell phone after I fucked with him, he kept calling and cursing me out. We finally blocked him, then he used a different number and then hubby answered and had it out with him 3 different times. He finally quit calling, but a shock collar would have been nice for him…..or old sparky, I’m not too picky about the amount of electrical current.

    • elliesmom says:

I hate the ones who ghost a local number. There are people in town I’d talked to if they called, but I don’t have their numbers in my caller id. But I never answer because it’s usually some scam or another.

      • Somebody says:

This was a local number that just called me, no name just town, state and number. That is why I answered it, either of the little ones schools could use a variety of numbers as they have multiple lines.

      • dm says:

I just had some lady call me a couple of days ago saying she was returning my call – of course, it wasn’t me. I had to explain how they ghost numbers…not the first time this has happened and I had to explain the “system”…I am now officially providing an unpaid educational service I guess.

Life with an engineer- Elliesdad was watching me unload the dishwasher this morning, and as I was putting the flatware away in its drawer, he wanted to know why I didn’t load the washer by putting all of the spoons together and separate from the forks so I could just grab them and drop them in the right tray when I put them away? I explained the spoons and forks would nest and wouldn’t get clean. He noticed the silverware rack in the dw has covers with slots to separate the individual pieces so why don’t I use that? I explained the handles of our flatware are too wide to fit through the slots. Why don’t I go buy some that fit to make my job easier? I reply I have never had flatware that has fit in the slots of any dishwasher we’ve ever had although our flatware has always been a rather simple design. Why haven’t I ever taken the covers off and put them in a envelope along with one of our spoons and sent it to the manufacturer and ask them to send me covers that work? My reply- Why has it taken you 45 years to ask questions about how our dishwasher works?

I never answer the phone!!Unless I am expecting that call. They can leave a message. 😀
