When People Show You Who They Are, Believe Them

Prof. Randa Jarrar

This is liberalism:

Fresno State professor stirs outrage, calls Barbara Bush an ‘amazing racist’

A Fresno State professor called former first lady Barbara Bush an “amazing racist” who raised a “war criminal,” and expressed no concern that she could be fired or reprimanded for her outspokenness on social media.

Randa Jarrar, a professor in Fresno State’s Department of English, expressed her displeasure with the Bush family within an hour after the official announcement that Mrs. Bush died Tuesday at the age of 92.

“Barbara Bush was a generous and smart and amazing racist who, along with her husband, raised a war criminal,” Jarrar wrote on Twitter. “Fuck outta here with your nice words.”

By around 10:21 p.m., Jarrar made her Twitter account private. The Fresno Bee took screen shots of her tweets when the account was public.

Jarrar also changed her Twitter bio, removing the titles of her books and instead writing, “Currently on leave from Fresno State. This is my private account and represents my opinions.”

The university confirmed Jarrar has been on leave all semester.

On Amazon, negative reviews for her books began to appear, apparently in reaction to her tweets.

Fresno State, roughly three hours after Jarrar’s initial tweet about Bush, sent out a statement by Castro that addressed the outspoken professor.

“On behalf of Fresno State, I extend my deepest condolences to the Bush family on the loss of our former First Lady, Barbara Bush,” Castro says in the statement. “We share the deep concerns expressed by others over the personal comments made today by professor Randa Jarrar, a professor in the English Department at Fresno State.

“Her statements were made as a private citizen, not as a representative at Fresno State.”

Castro also added: “Professor Jarrar’s expressed personal views and commentary are obviously contrary to the core values of our University, which include respect and empathy for individuals with divergent points of view, and a sincere commitment to mutual understanding and progress.”

The university is still looking into the matter, according to spokeswoman Patti Waid.

I’m not a big fan of the Bush family, but this is disgusting. Barbara Bush never did anything to deserve to be treated like that. Civilized people don’t behave that way. It is indecent, insensitive and offensive. But Jarrar is:

1. Female
2. Arab
3. Muslim
4. Liberal

So she will get a pass. But make no mistake: THIS IS WHO THEY ARE!

These are the people who want to control a government that controls everything. This woman’s job is teaching young people.

When people show you who they are, believe them.

on topic, Denise recommends Barbara’s memoir

Bar was a fierce mama bear and she did go after Trump for picking on Jeb! But the other 99.9% percent of the time, I just loved her. It’s what I’m confused about now, the left grave dancing, so even attacking Trump is not good enough for them? What is?

Ok, I even enjoyed Hillary’s memoir, Living History. I liked that Hillary, though it was not the Hillary that ran for Prezzy in 2008 and 2016.

A Mama Bear is entitled to protect her cubs no matter how old they are or whether they deserve it or not. It’s written down somewhere important. I don’t remember where, but it’s there. 😉

Having seen that person’s. . . .opinion, I am bringing second of Denise’s recommendation and my mention of a book that shows a better side of humanity.

And this book is a slightly different take on Jackie but really shows that shows I am grateful there was no Twitter in the 1960’s and that even those who were not fans of the JFK understood there are times when one puts aside personal views to provide support and solace for those left behind.

I don’t have any feelings about Barbara Bush. Rude things tweeted don’t bother me. There are plenty of dims whose death might put a smile on my face. Call me evil or callous. Mooch, killery, soros, schumer, sharpton ………………. and on and on. Guess I should be better but I’m not( Day 7 cold turkey, I am annoyed with everyone and everything)

    • dm says:

I get it…was never a fan of her or any of the other family, but I’m pretty neutral about her death. yes, I am sure there are plenty of friends and family who mourn but I don’t personally feel much other than understanding the loss the family feels. I agree that there are a few folks in the world – such as you named – that I would probably be more than ok with their passing. BTW, didn’t realize you were doing a cold turkey thing…not sure what that thing is, but you definitely have my sympathies…there’s a whole list of things I should be giving up, but I’m really not interested right now…best of luck to you.

      • mothy2017 says:

Cigarettes after more than 35 years.

        • dm says:

Again, my sympathies…that’s on my list of things I should give up.

        • Somebody says:

Tim, when I quit before I would vape when the cravings got bad. My juice had no nicotine in it, just flavor. Where I screwed up was having cigarette flavor. That might have been fine for the first few weeks, but a year and a half down the road it eventually led to my return to smoking.

The process of Vaping worked great to quit though. In fact about 10 people I know used my method and quit, all but one are still smoke free. The one guy’s life fell apart, he’s now a divorced single dad of 2 kids whose mom is in jail.

You should be past the worst cravings now, but you could start with a tobacco flavor. You just have to switch over to some other flavor after the 1st bottle and no nicotine.

    • DeniseVB says:

Good luck with that ! I’m serious. I made a deal with myself 40 years ago that allowing myself 10 cigs a day keeps the Xanax and Prozac away, fuck you Big Pharma. Side effects of their druggies will kill you before ciggies. Even Chantix declares a side effect of “suicidal” thoughts. I’m a weak person, I stay with what I can control 😉

      • Myiq2xu™ says:

Cigarettes will eventually kill you, but you won’t have to die craving a smoke.

        • DeniseVB says:

In my 40’s I didn’t plan to live past 70, whoa, here I am. I believe in moderation, cigs/vodka/wine, maybe that’s why I’m still here 😉 Oh, never drinking diet sodas may have helped too? Or being on a diet, ever? I’m still the same weight as I was in high school, 115 lbs ? Sometimes I wonder how the hell I did this 😉

    • lateblum says:

Good luck, mothy. My dd quite smoking on Christmas. She struggles with it every day. I’m know how tough quitting can be.

    • votermom says:

I’m so glad you are quitting smoking mothy! you can do it!

    • swanspirit says:

Congratulations!!! You are doing great! HUGS!

    • blowme0bama says:

Yeah, about one more week and you’ll really have a handle on it – the cravings won’t be as frequent and they’ll be less intense.

  8. BjornTheBorg says:

Meh. I’m to the point where I find it hard to believe that anyone still has the energy to get offended by what some fool spews on Twitter — it’s the social media platform of choice for people who want to gain attention by saying provocative things.

    • Anthony says:

All very nice, but what is characterized as “flaws” is really a predeliction for plain, truthful speaking, tweeting to let us peer into the shadiness of the deep state’s nefarious inner workings, calling out bullshit for what it is (NFL in particular) instead of being antiseptically politically correct, and a preference to inform us of what’s really going on instead of what donors handlers and lobbyists want us to hear – in short, everything we’ve always wanted all of our Presidents to be but none had the balls to actualize.

  16. DeniseVB says:

Millie’s puppies, one of my favorite Barbara Bush memories. I had springer spaniels at the time. GWB had one of those pups, Ranger.

    • Constance says:

      I love Springers!

      • DeniseVB says:

Great breed. We had Spingers all my childhood and early adult life. As a teen, I rocked the the show dog circuit with my Vicky in Northern Virginia. Youngest handler on record in NoVa, at 14. Sadly, hormones kicked in, I discovered boys. Sigh.

        • Somebody says:

Boys are more fun, but dogs are probably more loyal 😁

Speaking of dogs, the huge patch of neurotic skin from Mitzi’s spider bites finally came off! It came off Monday was a week ago. That last week it was like a giant flap, it was attached only over each bite which were close to the two ends. The middle was loose and flapped 🤢

Flash forward to now, she has one teeny tiny sore where the worst bite was and a strip of somewhat flaky skin across the top of the area.

The fur is growing back at the top and bottom, time will tell if it grows back in the middle, she may have a bald side ☹️

One really weird thing, along the bottom the fur that is coming in is white 😮 The vet thinks it may be from the neurotoxin and stress. Sort of a premature gray thing. He said it may or may not return to its natural color. Hubby is hoping the white fur ends up looking like a lightening bolt 🙄.
