I am waiting for the lawn to dry out so I can mow.

    • DeniseVB says:

I just finished mowing in a cold wind off the lake. The only thing that would have made it more sucky is that it would’ve been snowing. Worst spring ever.

I’ve got the old house I grew up in out in the country quite a distance from where I live. I get up on weekends every two weeks to keep the grass cut and for a break.

I know this will sound unbelievable, but since I took over the place following my Dad’s death in 06, I have not had a single mowing rained out or the yard too wet to cut before last summer, and I live in the near tropical deep south. Since last summer, I know I’ve had 4 or 5 weekends where either the ground was too wet or it rained hard all day on Saturdays. I was only able to cut it last weekend (after a week delay due to rain), because I started cutting in the dark on Friday night when I got in, then finished up Saturday morning before it started raining around 10 a.m…

From early on, the Clinton camp saw Trump as an enemy to encourage, Chozick writes. During the campaign, as had been previously reported, there was an effort to elevate Trump into a so-called Pied Piper in order to tie him to the mainstream of the Republican Party.

“An agenda for an upcoming campaign meeting sent by [Campaign Manager] Robby Mook’s office asked, ‘How do we maximize Trump?’” Chozick writes, describing a time when the GOP primary was still crowded.

All that seems to lead into the damaging video of Clinton calling half of Trump supporters a “basket of deplorables,” at a New York fundraiser in September 2016.

That was no slip of the tongue, since “Hillary always broke down Trump supporters into three baskets,” Chozick writes.

“The Deplorables always got a laugh, over living-room chats in the Hamptons, at dinner parties under the stars on Martha’s Vineyard, over passed hors d’oeuvres in Beverly Hills, and during sunset cocktails in Silicon Valley,” Chozick continues.

“‘I really messed up,’ [Clinton] told aides that night,” Chozick writes of the evening when the candidate’s Deplorables shtick went public.

On the night of the election, Chozick describes a dejected Clinton when she was told by campaign staffers that it was over.

“Of all the Brooklyn aides, Jen Palmieri had the most pleasant bedside manner,” Chozick writes. “That made her the designated deliverer of bad news to Hillary. But not this time. She told Robby there was no way she was going to tell Hillary she couldn’t win. That’s when Robby, drained and deflated, watching the results with his team in a room down the hall from Hillary’s suite, labored into the hallway of the Peninsula to break the news. Hillary didn’t seem all that surprised. ‘I knew it. I knew this would happen to me….’ Hillary said, now within a couple of inches of his face. ‘They were never going to let me be president.’”

  11. Cisco says:

THIS is being sued by the DNC.? Snipped from CNBC
The named defendants in the lawsuit include Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr., his son-in-law Jared Kushner, former campaign chief Paul Manafort and campaign official Richard Gates, and Trump ally Roger Stone.

Also named is the Russian Federation, the general staff of the Russian armed force, a Russian intelligence services hacker known as Guccifer 2.0., Wikileaks and its leader Julian Assange, and 10 unidentified people.

The suit says Russia is not entitled to sovereign immunity from the action, because the claims stem from Russia’s “trespass on to the DNC’s private [computer] servers” to steal information.
The general staff of the Russian armed forces.?
    The Russian Federation?
These people are softer than puppy shit.

Why stop with violating their policy on using the bathroom. If rules are to be broken let’s eat before paying, drink before paying, and leave before paying. All of these rules are just in the way of my good time. Wonder if I a white woman could get away with this…no different than the two black men who wanted special privilege to NOT follow the rules in Maryland except only black people can break the law, cry victim, and get money. STOP THE INSANITY the woman who nicely called the police was BLACK people.

Some nasty comments about the president not attending, but he does have a country to run.

    • Constance says:

Like the Bush family wants President Trump there. I think the President is being sensitive in not going.

    • elliesmom says:

It’s appropriate for the First Lady to attend the funeral of a former First Lady. Obama didn’t attend the funerals of either Nancy Reagan or Betty Ford. All of the former First Ladies who are well enough to travel should be there, though. Laura Bush will certainly attend. I realize that might eliminate Rosalyn Carter, who is 90 herself, and Hillary Clinton due to her shoe issues, but Michelle Obama’s ass should be in a pew.

I think they just assumed they were above the law and they don’t have to show any proof that they were actually hacked, that there was any Russian collusion, etc. That’s certainly the case with the mainstream media.

Lordy, Jim must be mildly nauseous.

    • Lulu says:

He says he “de-classified” his own memos. LOL. That’s not how it works Jesus Jim. Let’s see: 1) The laptop used does not belong to him. It is US government property. And as head of the FBI everything on it is legally “Secret” or above. 2) All materials have to go through a declassification process that does not involve the goober who wrote it. BY LAW. 3) The ninny he gave them to to leak to the fascist media is not a person employed by government, nor authorized to see them, nor gone through the process to be authorized to see Jesus Jim’s stupid Emo-shit. 4) This schmuck friend “law professor” is claiming he is his attorney which means beans in classified information, 5) He gave them to his “friend” to leak. Also illegal. And he ropes his “friend” into committing a crime which makes it conspiracy to release classified information.

The OIG and DOJ has had all of this but waiting for Comey to go out on his moronic book tour to maximize humiliation and additional crimes. What a dummy.

Hubby said the old GPS couldn’t be updated, because it could crash. I looked online to see what the data transfer cable looked liked. Found it in his bag of cables. Downloaded the map updates. GPS still works. (When I was in Missoula, I was told to turn left on Trail Street, which wasn’t there.)

      • Somebody says:

I use my phone. I haven’t used my GPS in years, ever since it took me the wrong way on a one way street, up an exit ramp resulting in going the wrong way on a highway and last but not least through a cemetery. Now that all made for interesting stories, but I tossed the damn thing after that.

An old garden friend of mine called up this week to ‘catch up’. She told me all about this movie and Mary Reynolds. I looked her up, read about her, and watched the clip. Looks good, and now that you’re recommending it as well, I must simply make the time to sit down and watch it!

Gardening season has finally arrived here in N. IL, today, and I see mostly 60’s for the next 10 days. Hubby still hasn’t cut the grass yet this year, and this will go down as the latest mowing ever.

The baby squirrels living in the maple tree right next to the house have ventured out a bit from their safe confines. There are 4 of them, and they’re so fun to watch. Can’t wait til next week when the gbabies can watch as well.

      • lyn says:

I would love to see your baby squirrels!
Here is Mary’s web site with her Ted Talk video:

        • cynic says:

Thanks for the link. My friend also told me to watch her Ted Talk video!

They just started peeking out of the hole in the tree yesterday, and today, they have ventured a few feet away from the hole.

This tree is a perfect home for the squirrels, and when my daughter was young, she could lay on her bed and watch the little ones play. What wonderful memories.

Who in the DNC had the bright idea to sue Trump.
    Stupid, stupid, stupid.
They are about to get bit in the ass.
They’d better hope it gets dismissed.

    • Cisco says:

      Meat and potatoes of article.
{…} If this lawsuit proceeds the Trump campaign will be prepared to leverage the discovery process and explore the DNC’s now-secret records about the actual corruption they perpetrated to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. Everything will be on the table, including:

♦How the DNC contributed to the fake dossier, using Fusion GPS along with the Clinton Campaign as the basis for the launch of a phony investigation.
♦Why the FBI was never allowed access to the DNC servers in the course of their investigation into the Clinton e-mail scandal.
♦How the DNC conspired to hand Hillary Clinton the nomination over Bernie Sanders.
♦How officials at the highest levels of the DNC colluded with the news media to influence the outcome of the DNC nomination.
♦Management decisions by Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Donna Brazile, Tom Perez, and John Podesta; their e-mails, personnel decisions, budgets, opposition research, and more. (link)
