Happy Earth Day!

I plan to celebrate today by dumping old motor oil down the storm drain, spraying the yard with DDT, and holding the traditional endangered species barbecue over burning tires.

Environmental rape.

Comey memos show Valerie Jarrett’s CNN daughter a useful tool for Democrats
    By Monica Showalter

The memos are out from former FBI Director James Comey, and one of the big takeaways is how useful a tool Valerie Jarrett’s daughter, Laura Jarrett, could be for the Hillary Clinton campaign while she was employed at CNN.

CNN, it seems, helped orchestrate the set-up of President Trump when it pressed the then-FBI director to have a meeting with Trump so that the matter could be leaked and the press would have a credible reason to report as news all the otherwise slimy opposition research contained within the Steele dossier. Up until then, Fusion GPS, the purveyor of the unverified garbage written by its Moscow sources, was having a bad time getting anyone to print it in the press, and had shopped it around for a year, drawing no buyers. The press knew it was unverified garbage and didn’t want to wreck its reputation by going there.

But then Comey briefed Trump about the existence of the dossier, and suddenly the matter was leakable. And by an interesting coincidence, it was CNN that did the leak.

That would be the same CNN that hired Valerie Jarrett’s daughter, Laura Jarrett, as the Justice Department’s correspondent, despite having zero background in journalism. She just waltzed in and got an on-screen, big-dollar job at CNN, same as you or I could do, right? She’s still there, by the way.

And by another coincidence, the DoJ of Jarrett’s beat oversees the star of this drama, the FBI.

So CNN with Jarrett on staff pushed Comey to have the meeting with Trump so that the encounter could be leaked and they could succeed as Democratic operatives with bylines to smear President Trump.

Is it any wonder Trump openly calls them ‘fake news’?

Coincidence upon coincidence seems to characterize this one. It’s a good thing Devin Nunes hasn’t retired from Congress. We suspect he’s going to have plenty of material anew at the House Intelligence Committee he leads about how the U.S. media has allowed itself to be used as dupes and tools for partisan operations that are ultimately on the puppet strings of Moscow. Democratic operatives with bylines isn’t the exaggeration it’s been made out to be.

An endangered species barbecue? That sounds interesting. Can we all come over and try something? 🙂

Finally a poll that I like.

Voters Don’t Favor Candidates Who Want To Impeach Trump: Poll
Would you vote for a congressional candidate who wanted to see the president impeached?

I’m not sure if Wolf Blitzer will think he is winning. He might find himself thrown off the network because of his sudden show of excitement. 🙂

Wolf Blitzer and CNN just shocked the world by gushing over Donald Trump: ‘Speechless’

The winning is so real that even CNN can’t deny it.

A CNN reporter was left “speechless” by news that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un announced he will suspend all nuclear and missile tests.

Earth Day was founded by Gaylord Nelson, a senator from Wisconsin in the spring of 1970. I was a college freshman at the time. Colleges and universities sponsored student demonstrations or teach-ins. I spent the day climbing down into manholes and doing water quality testing.

Our barn cat gave birth to 4 female kittens eight years ago today. She was a great, beautiful calico cat, and was a wonderful mommy. We got to watch all 4 of them being born, two calicos and two orange ones. We kept one of the orange ones (alas, nobody wanted to adopt her), and today she’s earning her keep by clearing the voles from my flower garden. good kitty

The nuns always had us observe Arbor Day by planting, weeding or helping to clear up litter in the parks. I was still in grade school in 1970 and the nuns saw no reason to change things up just because someone came up with a new title and moved the date so we went right on with with our traditions. They also never lectured us other than the typical respect nature and make every attempt to cause no undo harm. Oh, and of course, thank God.

I actually have a bunch of used solvent that I need to get rid of. Instead of driving half an hour to take it to the disposal facility, I think today is a great opportunity to pour it down the storm drain. Take that, tree huggers! And thanks, Klown, for the inspiration.

  13. Kell says:

I wonder if the guy hugging the tree know he’s standing in poison ivy?

Ummm, no . . . . it is not poison ivy. So the guy in that photo was safe on that score.

And if (2), then you have to also say in the case of women majority jobs like nurses, that men are being oppressed by women. Let’s see, which is more likely…

    • DandyTIger says:

BTW, just like with Engineering, there’s a huge effort to try to get women into aviation. Those efforts have an effect of getting some people that naturally are a good fit for those but just didn’t really consider it. Which is great. But the numbers aren’t changing in a very big way.

      • 1539days says:

I read this statistic that women are about equal to men in undergraduate math majors, but men greatly outnumber women in graduate math. It’s because women become math teachers. So, capability and access are there, just not interest.

I can think of a system of government where they assign you to your job, and I’m pretty sure Americans wouldn’t like it.

        • taw46 says:

Years ago, I met a man from Bulgaria who escaped from behind the Iron Curtain after several tries. And the reason he wanted out was because they assigned people to their jobs. He did not know anything about America at the time, but he knew there had to be a place of freedom somewhere. A proud American citizen.

“The 29-year-old Illinois man accused of carrying out a fatal shooting Sunday morning at an Antioch Waffle House previously had weapons removed from his possession after a 2017 arrest near the White House. Travis Reinking opened fire early Sunday morning at the Waffle House, killing at least four people, Nashville police say. At least seven others were injured.

In July 2017, the U.S. Secret Service arrested Reinking for being in a “restricted area” near the White House, according to the Secret Service.”

IIRC, selling or otherwise providing firearms to a “prohibited” person is a Federal felony….I assume that having ones firearms confiscated by SS/FBI qualifies a person as a prohibited person. Hopefully the father is indicted/convicted and spends a long time in Federal prison.
