Modern Day Eugenics

FYI, Charles Blow has another instant flash-classic. 🙄

In the last week, no less than 3 people who work for Trump have been hounded out of restaurants. This after all that drama and outrage over a baker and a wedding cake in Colorado.

In my personal life, my husband’s family has attacked us just this weekend, and there is a new supervisor at work who called me a Nazi in 2016, so things have heated up there.

Things are shaping up to be a replay of the long hot southern summers of the 1920s, when counters weren’t open to “colored” folks and lynchings were routine. These days the color of the person is just different, and the lynchings are digital and/or emotional.

This is not who we have been as Americans and it is not who I want us to be. But this who we become when a president opens nationwide band camps to train people to be hostile to their fellow man, when academics convince young people that this is the only glory of war they will ever get, this turning on their families and countrymen.

This is what modern day eugenics looks like. People justifying their childish, boorish behavior because someone dares to think something different than them.

I can’t even tell you how done I am with all of this. But there is one thing they will never take from me, and that is my will to vote. I’ll show up each and every spring and November when an election is held, and I will cast my ballot. And that ballot will always be against this bullshit.

  2. Miranda says:

I’m sorry about the family and work stuff, Lola. I’m lucky that my immediate family and I have the same views, and no one has brought it up at work. Friends are a different matter, but so far, we’ve just avoided the topics. I will always vote against bullshit too.

  3. DandyTIger says:

Vote GOP in the midterms as if your life depends on it.

  4. nerdle says:

This ramped up aggression is out of pure desperation. They have nothing and they know it. All the narratives have been a colossal failure. They’re only going to get worse from here

    • I really think this is the truth. They know they’ve already lost 2018 AND 2020, and this is just the whimpering fit of people who know the spanking is both coming and deserved.

  5. helenk3 says:

so far everthing the left has tried to bring down trump has failed and this is failing too

“I was just doing what my employees wanted…poor me!!!!” Apparently, bullshit:

    Laura Ingraham

@GovMikeHuckabee told me last hour that after asking @PressSec to leave the Red Hen, owner Stephanie Wilkinson organized a protest at the restaurant her family was dining at across the street.

It’s got nothing to do with any kind of cake. It has to do with a meticulous plan designed to provoke their “Summer of Rage” (just like ISIS). Their collective dream is that we strike back in kind and help them facilitate their Civil War redux. Fuck them. Even if it KILLS me, I’m not going to punch anyone’s lights out.

What Mad Maxxine did over the weekend was to encourage physical violence to neutralize our government. That’s sedition. When that rope gets long enough, she’ll hang her own stank ass along with those of all of her stank-ass minions.

I’m not falling for any of their carefully orchestrated provocation, and neither should you. Sadly, my dreams of punching the fucking heart out of anyone who tries to mess with me will have to remain a dream. They’re just not worthy opponents. They want it too badly.

this whole thing with awan and the dems is really hinky

    • mcnorman says:

Ask me, the sanctuary shithole I live in has a bazillion of these immigration attorneys. This is bread and butter.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

Have your seen Maryland’s lying scumbag of a senator [Van Hollen] in your area? That guy (and I use the term loosely as is seems he is attempting to achieve the Tim Kaine ventriloquist’s dummy look) would fit right in with that crowd. He evidently is running about telling tall tales of his visit to several points at the border. His pockets are full of dirty money and he is in deep with the other swamp creatures.

  9. helenk3 says:

so this is not hate speech? it is ok to hate men???
I guess I am old fashioned, i like men. When I was married I believed I was not , before, behind but I was beside .As partners you can accomplish a lot. I taught my kids this too.

    • John Denney says:

Men are on average, bigger and stronger than women, hence the different sports leagues for men and women, and their segregation in Olympic events.

A good man uses his strength to provide for, protect, and serve his family.

    • helenk3 says:

just wondering, is she admonishing because there was more backlash then expected?
lets face it mad max has made a lot of threats before and the dems were silent

  10. helenk3 says:

These are the type of people who are planing to storm our border.

  12. helenk3 says:

have you noticed that the left seems to be against people who accomplish something and make a difference in the world?
they may no sense. If you do not write about times as they were and not as you would like them to have been, what does anyone learn?

R.I.P. “Old Man” from Pawn Stars 😦

  14. swanspirit says:

Lola!!! Am so sorry you were targeted, I know that is so unfair. But you are 100% correct, and anyone who thinks that the democrats, the left, and the violent progressives aren’t coming for them, is sadly mistaken. And they are choosing their targets. This time it’s white women. They start with highly visible women, and then include all white women, as “complicit”. We must vote. Our lives do depend upon it.

  15. Dora says:

This has nothing to do with Modern Day Eugenics. The dog is just plain ugly!

    Poor thing!

  16. Dora says:

It should be much higher than that. What’s wrong with everybody?

    • Underwhelmed says:

Interesting how in hindsight it’s easy to see we all dodged a bullet when the Romney/Ryan ticket failed.

      • I’m with you on Romney, but I have always admired Ryan’s principled stand on the budget and on entitlements. Our spending is unsustainable and diminishes our global power. Entitlements deny a sense of belonging and purpose to poor people, and they are immoral.

  17. helenk3 says:

Isn’t this what most wife beaters tell their wives while visiting them in their hospital bed?

  18. helenk3 says:

he really needs a psych evaluation

It’s not “peaceful protesting” it’s bullying. A form of emotional harm, right? Harass, shun, get in their face? It’s what Waters called for and the boobs on the left are screeching….SHE DIDN’T SAY HARM ! TRUMP LIED!…..good grief. James Woods pinned this recently, no wonder Brandon is having mulitple orgasms LOL……

    • SHV says:

The “Forgotten War” was a killing ground for both North and South Korean civilians. The US bombing campaign of North Korea dropped more bomb tonnage than was dropped during the entire WWII Pacific Theater. Curtis LeMay, chief o US Air Force estimated 85% of building destroyed and 20% of the civilian population of North Korea killed (2 million). More likely estimate 1+ million but still more civilians killed than either WWII Germany or Japan. The civilian loss of live in south Korea was also very high.

      • 49erDweet says:

Wasn’t only homes and people. It was roads, bridges, railroads, tunnels (yes), family stores, fuel depots, shopping areas, docks, cranes, equipment, EVERYTHING. Look around you. Imagine what you’d have to do to survive if 85% of what you see and use was broken into tiny bits.

just had a discussion with a friend over the Red Hen thing. She brought up the baker and the gay wedding cake. I hear this a lot as an excuse for the dems bad behavior.
Marriage is a sacrament in many religions. The baker’s religion says it is between a man and a woman. He felt that if he baked the cake he would be committing a sacrilege and would have to answer to God. The red hen thing was a political belief and they would only have to answer to man. There is a difference. She said she would think about that

    • lyn says:

      Thinking is a good sign.

    • DeniseVB says:

I don’t think the baker refused to sell them a cake as much as what the gay couple wanted him to write on it. Like the pizza shop who didn’t refuse to make pizzas, but they didn’t do catering. I think that happened to a florist too, she didn’t do weddings. OMIGOD, HOMOPHOBES!!!!! WE MUST PROTEST AND SUE for discrimination. Oh come on, in this day and age?

      • Mt.Laurel says:

This. No one was told they could not purchase ready made items from the businesses or asked to leave the stores. All the mess was over being asked to do special contract work. In a couple of the cases, the businesses did not even do such work. I mean if I want to have a pig 🐷 roasted on a spit for say a family reunion, I am not even going to bother asking a kosher Jewish butcher to become a caterer Let alone expect them to provide pork. It is not rocket 🚀 science.
