In the last week, no less than 3 people who work for Trump have been hounded out of restaurants. This after all that drama and outrage over a baker and a wedding cake in Colorado.
In my personal life, my husband’s family has attacked us just this weekend, and there is a new supervisor at work who called me a Nazi in 2016, so things have heated up there.
Things are shaping up to be a replay of the long hot southern summers of the 1920s, when counters weren’t open to “colored” folks and lynchings were routine. These days the color of the person is just different, and the lynchings are digital and/or emotional.
This is not who we have been as Americans and it is not who I want us to be. But this who we become when a president opens nationwide band camps to train people to be hostile to their fellow man, when academics convince young people that this is the only glory of war they will ever get, this turning on their families and countrymen.
This is what modern day eugenics looks like. People justifying their childish, boorish behavior because someone dares to think something different than them.
I can’t even tell you how done I am with all of this. But there is one thing they will never take from me, and that is my will to vote. I’ll show up each and every spring and November when an election is held, and I will cast my ballot. And that ballot will always be against this bullshit.

Marriage is a sacrament in many religions. The baker’s religion says it is between a man and a woman. He felt that if he baked the cake he would be committing a sacrilege and would have to answer to God. The red hen thing was a political belief and they would only have to answer to man. There is a difference. She said she would think about that
