A TCH open bar thread with sweet tea is my tribute to the non-drinkers and those restricted from drinking. As for me, tonight is …. and it comes in purse size too … 😀

      • Cisco says:

        “Purse size”
        Now that’s being prepared.
Never know when you’re going to get snake bit.🐍

      • Mt.Laurel says:

It really is purse size. I tuck the small boxes in my work tote 👜 to carry up the stairs to my condo. Makes a nice counter weight to the grocery 🍓🍇🍒🥓🥗bag in the other hand.

I finally found Black Box wine in the grocery store where I’ve started shopping. I wasn’t looking for it, so naturally that’s when I found it. I was looking for something for the outdoor going away party for dd#1 that I was going to have today in the beautiful rear courtyard of my building. But Mother Nature hemorrhaged all over this morning so I guess I’m having it tomorrow instead. Maybe I’ll go back and get the Sangria. That sounds like something we could have tomorrow.

Between the two funerals, I much prefer watchin’ – and listening to – Aretha’s.

  2. elliesmom says:

I’m not a fan of sweet tea. Can I do Long Island Iced Tea instead?
    1 part vodka
    1 part tequila
    1 part rum
    1 part gin
    1 part triple sec
1 1/2 parts sweet and sour mix
    1 splash Coca-Cola®

    • DeniseVB says:

Long Island Iced Teas were my Come To Jesus Moment with drinking and driving, never again. About 20 years ago, the owner of the dive bar around the corner from the vet clinic I worked at, invited the whole staff over on a Friday night after work for $1 Long Island Iced Teas. I think I had 5, they were so tasty. WRONG. My first hint should have been not finding my car, or even knowing what my car looked like. I didn’t remember the drive home, I don’t remember walking in the door and going to bed. Must’ve remembered setting the alarm, because I didn’t die in my sleep and got up to go into work for 7 a.m. the next morning. I am so lucky I didn’t kill anyone or myself the night before, but damn, those were tasty drinkies 😀 Moral to the story, no more bars for me!

      • elliesmom says:

I’m home for the evening, but making it might be more work than I want to go to. I do have a couple of those black boxes in the trunk of the car, I have the pinot noir and the pinot grigio.

      • Island Girl says:

Very similar story here in a land far away,I think it was actually called High Street Brewery. LOL thankfully my coworkers finally got a hold of hubby who politely declined my offer of driving us home in his truck.

    • Constance says:

My God no wonder Long Island Tea makes me so out of it! It sure tastes good and goes down easy for all that booze.

    • blowme0bama says:

      Substitute the Coke with Jolt

  3. SHV says:

Trump, Inc. playing Shit? or go Blind? on the MSM McCain Special Weekend:

“The FBI on Friday announced that it has arrested all five “extremist Muslim” New Mexico compound suspects, just days after multiple charges were dropped against those involved. The suspects were charged with violating federal firearms and conspiracy laws.”

“Extremist Muslims” is the best part; I guess the Obama/Holder DOJ/FBI style guide is in the dumpster.

  4. SHV says:

Another shot at the Dem/Soc Progs:

“U.S. ends aid to United Nations agency supporting Palestinian refugees”

“The United States will no longer contribute to the United Nations relief agency for Palestinian refugees, the State Department announced Friday, amid widespread Palestinian outrage charging that the decision violates international law and will aggravate an already dire humanitarian situation, particularly in Gaza.”….
Another $350 million saved….Too Much Winning….it has to stop!!

    • Cisco says:

      Fuck them.
If I recall, these sponsors of terrorism where using some, if not quite a bit of United States money to the widows or family members of “martyrs”
You know, murderers who kill women, children and IDF soldiers because their hatred of Jews.
      “Violates International law”
Yo’! It’s our money and we’ll give it away as we damn please.🖕

  5. lyn says:

    Ya think?!

  6. SHV says:

Perhaps biggest news of the day:

“Lighthizer Submits 90-day U.S-Mexico Trade Modification Notification to Congress…”
No Canada…Trudope and SJW Crystia believed Obama that Trump was an idiot and would be gone by now….Unless Canada does a major re-set, their auto industry (160,000) jobs will be gone by 2020.

    • Underwhelmed says:

Good. Sometimes people just have to learn the hard way.

    • Cisco says:

All Trudeau has to do is make a fair and recipical deal.
Be stubborn, you lose Trudeau and take Canada with you.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

TCH called Crystia’s performance, I mean speech that of a high school girl. They were being kind. I could not watch more than a couple minutes. She comes off as tween who failed Valley Girl 101. Although she does do the vocal fry.

Caught the start of Tucker (been avoiding all news for days) he was going after google. I want to get a non google phone, but don’t want to spend 700 on an iphone. Any suggestions?

    • mothy2017 says:

I know android is linux, but most phones use it through google shit.

    • elliesmom says:

Even if you buy an iPhone, the minute you download any google apps, like google maps for example, Google owns your phone.

      • Somebody says:

Very true EM, big brother Google knows everything 🙄 It’s hard to avoid Google, most android phones come pre-loaded with maps, Google photo and other assorted aps like facebook. I haven’t had an iphone in years, not sure what they have loaded on them.

    • Somebody says:

Tim, check out ASUS phones. Same features, lower price. I’ve been quite happy with mine. The only thing that truly bothered me was the buttons at the bottom (back button and minimize) are reversed. It took me a few weeks to get used to that, annoyed me to no end, but I’m fine with it now.

    • lateblum says:

I feel the same way about iPhones, tim. My dd#1 suggested I get an “se” iPhone. They are less expensive than many Android phones ($100-200-ish). I may do that. They are small and lightweight. I came “this close” to purchasing one last week. I just dislike cell phones so much that I may be willing to forego future cell phones. I feel tied to it some days. Today being one of them. Plus, I loathe texting. Good luck.

      • mothy2017 says:

It looks like the only way to avoid the google is to buy an iphone and never download anything from google. ANYTHING. THEY have mittens in everything. Snapchat. Youtube. Instagram.

    • Anthony says:

      Great article! Money quote:

As for McCain, I didn’t feel the need to attack him after his death. I was, however, enjoying a good laugh as the myopic leftwing media turned him into a saint, hoping their crocodile tears might somehow convince Conservatives to run back to those simpler days before Trump, when they always lost. Mostly, I didn’t feel the need to attack McCain because he was gone, game over, and now I never have to think of him again. Or, in a nod to a famous line from our Commander-in-Chief regarding the late McCain, I like people who aren’t dead

      (bolding mine)

Nice! I’m due for a Disneyland vacation. I went to Disney World two years ago but it’s not the same. They just built on way too big of a scale. We stayed in a Disney hotel and took the Disney bus to Magic Kingdom and it was a 20 minute bus ride. I did love Universal with their Harry Potter attraction but they have zero transportation in the park so you have to walk a mile before you even get to the Harry Potter park and so you can’t take old folks or very little kids with you to that park.

  15. Dora says:

I wonder what this was about.

The Walk Away March has a page, but it’s not on Facebook (like the events pages). Few details, just dates (Friday Dinner, Sat March, Sunday Brunch) Not sure how they’ll work out the logistics even if a few hundred show up, lol.

  23. mothy2017 says:

Sometimes it boggles the mind to consider what has become of my friends that shared my political values up until 2008. I have moved slightly to the right over the years, but I think that is age and caring for a child. They have taken a hard left at unsafe speeds. How can an educated, intelligent person who is not a kid suddenly embrace that there are 82 genders. How after the numerous terrorist attacks can they not support extreme vetting. They have all changed so much and are almost possessed by this blind hate for Trump. Mcstain’s funeral tour is a prime example. I think it’s almost a group psychosis. Way back in the last century there was a psych theory called homosexual panic. Pretty sure it was almost exclusively studied in men. A guy with latent/repressed thoughts would over react when facing his urges. Could be rage, over compensation, or homophobia. His life was built on a false foundation. The threat to his false identity caused an extreme reaction.
I see the same dynamics with people screaming at the sky, destroying lives, paying violent groups to create chaos. What has Trump done to merit such anger. These people are actually defending MS-13? Most of the die hard anti-Trumpers I know believe they are a part of the elite. Might not have bezos money but they share they believe a better more evolved world view. For God’s sake they call themselves progressives. What a vainglorios term. It’s like when you’re in your late teens and think your parents know nothing.
I honestly believe that these people have invested so much of their identity in the obama way that if Trump continues with his success they will fall like a house of cards.
