Wow the weather in Washington DC looks unbearable for the McCain death proceedings. First you could see heat waves coming up from the pavement so badly that it distorted the picture and then a minute before they removed McCain’s casket from the hearse the sky broke open and it rained like I’ve never seen in Seattle, absolutely drenching!. All the men are dressed in full suits and not of light weight fabric and the women are mostly in sleeveless dresses. Men are wiping sweat off their faces and look miserable. If they get through this without someone passing out and puking it will be amazing. Good thing Hillary is apparently not there.

When I went to Alaska a few years ago, Hubby, my father and I were on the top deck of our tour boat. Three orcas started to swim alongside the boat, and “play” (a mama and two babies). It was raining, but we stood there taking photos and watching them for about half an hour. About 15 minutes in, people who were downstairs where it was warm and dry started to catch on. Hubby and my father flanked me, we all stuck out our elbows and didn’t let the people who tried to wedge between us in.
That is my fondest memory from our Alaskan cruise (I can’t wait to go back). A once in a lifetime experience.
