As much as the left hated GWB, I never saw this kind of behavior. Jackals.

That is a beautiful mage. I am far from tired of winning. It’s just the therapy we all need after 8 long miserable years of O’loser. My sense of relief at this particular win, is enormous. I think this country was on the brink of something so devastating, and we avoided it. The rule of law, and innocent until proven guilty were saved from mob rule. That’s huuuge
This whole process has been an eye opener. I knew the Dims were bad, but they usually managed to keep the process behind closed doors. This is another image I won’t soon forget. I can only imagine what Murkowski is being threatened with.

And the liberal agonizing, over what is going to happen, that we women will all be wearing Handmaids Tale robes soon, (which disturbingly remind me of my Catholic High school gym outfits minus the hat, which were the same shade of red and had pleats) that gay marriage and being gay will be illegal, that birth control and abortion will be illegal, are amazing, and amusing to watch.

I wish I understood what all the protests are about, none of it makes sense, they all just look stupid. With all the media and cell phone attention, the only message I’m getting is “Look at me!!”. At least with the peace marches, we wanted to end the war and bring the troops home. Funny they stopped when Obama was in office, he lost more troops than GWB.

      • taw46 says:

The ones running it? All about stirring up the women, “war on women” to get the vote out. They do it every time. Sadly, the state of our education system makes it easy to manipulate the young women.

        • DeniseVB says:

Wonder why we didn’t fall for it? Lack of critical thinking is the real war on women 😉 I also don’t believe any of the drivel the “women’s movement” is claiming. Roe v. Wade will never be overturned because it simply decriminalized abortion for women and doctors to give us safe, legal and rare, but out of the back alleys. I just want PP defunded because they have millions in PAC money to give to Democrats. I have all my rights, if I wanted equal pay, I would have pursued a better education or skill. I love men, warts and all, they’re fun to be around. Unless they’re REAL rapists which makes them violent criminals.

Due process is what makes America Great, Believe All Women is a threat to us all. The new feminists seem to be just using fear tactics to recruit young, clueless women to their plantation mentality. My God, Sharia loving Linda Sansour is their “leader” ? SMH. 😀

        • Constance says:

Yeah, they are getting attention from their male leaders and there are enough stupid women who think any male attention is good attention. You have to give credit to the Dems, they have a strategy for attracting stupid voters and since Stupid is obviously one of Gods favorite models for humans it gives Democrats an advantage. Republicans just keep talking policy to voters who are too naive to know evil, power grabbing exists and too simple to understand policy or motives and it is like talking in French to someone who only speaks English. The Dems stupid voters don’t get it and they aren’t going to get it.

      • 1539days says:

To be fair, they went from “he’ll let Trump skate on Executive abuses” to “he’ll start raping all his law clerks” to “he committed fart perjury!” in a short amount of time. Message discipline gets difficult.

    • Constance says:

It will be interesting to see what the Dems come up with to whip stupid voters into action once it becomes clear that the Republicans don’t intend to end abortion, birth control or gay rights. Of course the real problem for Leftists who don’t really give a rats ass about women or gays, is that this court will end the idea of un-elected bureaucracies regulating things with rules that they issue which has been by-passing the congress. Leftists will not be able to get enough control of an elected Congress to enforce their agenda on this country. That has to scare the hell out of them and frightened creatures are dangerous.

If the Dims really thought that they were going to clean up during the midterms this year, they wouldn’t look so miserable when saying it. Most of the candidates spent months acting like they cared about the constituents more than politics, and their determination to take Kavanaugh down even after the evidence started to evaporate, really proved they’re going full-on with an impeach Trump agenda on Day 1.

the dems started encouraging mob rule under backtrack. His DOJ and other law enforcement agencies had their hands tied to try and stop it. It has become the new normal and it is not good for the country. Yes protesting is an American right, mob rule is not.

    • DeniseVB says:

I read that earlier “arrests” of protesters were just slaps on the wrists, but DC police warn them, if we arrest you a second time, you’ll be booked and sit in jail til Tuesday because Monday is a holiday 😀

It’s Fascism. Hitler would be proud. Mao too. Try that in Cuba, no due process for you, if you’re lucky, you’ll go to jail not executed. 12. Mothy67 says:

How long would it take for a case concerning abortion to get before the SC? Couldn’t Kavanaugh confirmation help the dims in 2020? Are there any working their way up? The proggies got greedy under o pushed too far too fast on too many issues. Woke many up who were not politically active before. Common core, school lunches, gender identity, health care, gay marriage, abortion went from safe, but rare to a frigging sacrament so many other things. Had they gone a little slower and showed any concern at all for the common man i believe gradually they could have transformed the country irreversibly. No they had to have it all. A moderate killary followed by puppet o.
I just hope the right learned from that. 2020 is a bigger prize than midterms, I think. I fear the extremes might push too hard on social issues. They always do.

    • DeniseVB says:

I don’t understand anything on the left anymore. None of it makes sense. Heaven help you if you disagree with them. It’s why the ban hammer is so active for Twitter conservatives. Mob rules there too. Tweet something a leftie doesn’t like, mass reporting ensues, and you’re automatically in Twitmo til they have a chance to “review” it.

  13. Mothy67 says:

Had we been spared the histrionic protesters and accusations might JBK not have been confirmed? The never Trumpers could have voted no out of spite. Instead they got the nevers aligned with Trump in a yuuuge way. It’s going to be a long 30 days.

  14. Anthony says:

Celebrate today, become hyper-vigilant tonight. All we did was gain a few yards on the field with Kavanaugh’s appointment. The left is even more angry and nuts than they were during the committee meeting. We need to make sure they don’t gain any of that ground back by being lazy and content.

The brilliance of what just happened in the Kavanaugh appointment was that it unmasked the “Resistance”™ and how deep into our political system it has become embedded. Sadly for Feinstein, Booker and many other Senators and ranking members of various congressional committees, we now know for sure that it goes all the way to the top in one of our two political parties.

The up side is that it makes the mid term elections a binary choice. It isn’t so complicated now, is it? Simply put: RESIST VS RESULTS

I know which side I’m on, and I daresay that many of the not-so-silent-anymore Majority do as well.

Rock on, bitches. I’m jumping back into my overwhelmingly taxing everyday life. For now.

I’m sure not tired of Winning, it’s being hyper-vigilant since Nov 2016 that’s killing me 🙂 I’ve noticed some serious chatter making false accusations about sexual assault, especially without benefit of a police report, a criminal offense. I think it already is if the accused is punished until the truth comes out. Those ladies are now going to jail and paying restituion. The Believe All Women folks say lying about sexual assault is protected under the First Ammendment. Nuts, isn’t it ?

Now that the Kavanaugh drama is concluding; back to our regular programming, spygate.

“During the election top Democrat Party Attorney Michael Sussman met with the top lawyer of the Department of Justice to deliver the phony Russian dossier. The DOJ then used this fake political document to spy on Donald Trump and his campaign.

Rep. Devin Nunes: James Baker was the top lawyer at the FBI. He reported directly to James Comey. Numerous officials at the DOJ and FBI have told us under oath that nobody at the FBI or DOJ knew anything about the Democratic Party being behind the Clinton (Russian dossier) dirt. Well now you have one of the top lawyers for the Democrats and the Clinton Campaign who was feeding information directly to the top lawyer at the FBI before even the FISA warrant.

This is an open thread, so I think I’ll add a little poetry to this morning’s comments.

On this day in 1849, Edgar Allan Poe died. He was the first person to try and make a living as a full-time writer. Although he did not earn much money, his works gave him immortality

He was one of my favorites. Here is one of his short poems.

    ==

TO [D] Also known as I Heed.

I heed not that my earthly lot
Hath little of Earth in it
That years of love have been forgot
In the hatred of a minute:
I mourn not that the desolate
    Are happier, sweet, than I,
But that you sorrow for my fate
    Who am a passer by.

    repost from CTH…feel good story:
“THIS IS AMERICA, THIS IS NEBRASKA, but not reported on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, etc.
Article ran in Wall Street Journal Monday 23 July 2018.

“We were overwhelmed,” said Lt. Col. Nick Jaskolski. “I don’t really have words to describe how surprised and moved we all were. I had never even heard of the town before.”
Col. Jaskolski, a veteran of the Iraq war, is commander of the 142nd Field Artillery Brigade of the Arkansas Army National Guard. For three weeks earlier this summer, the 142nd had been conducting an emergency deployment readiness exercise in Wyoming, training and sleeping outdoors, subsisting on field rations. Now it was time for the 700 soldiers to return to their base.

A charter bus company had been hired for the 18-hour drive back to Arkansas. The Army had budgeted for a stop to get snacks. The bus company determined that the soldiers would reach North Platte, in western Nebraska, around the time they would likely be hungry. The company placed a call to the Visitors’ Bureau: Was there anywhere in town that could handle a succession of 21 buses, and get 700 soldiers in and out for a quick snack?

North Platte said yes. North Platte has always said yes. The community welcomed more than 700 service men and women, North Platte, Nebraska, June 18-19.

The community welcomed more than 700 service men and women, North Platte , Nebraska, June 18-19.

Now during World War II, North Platte was a geographically isolated town of 12,000. Soldiers, sailors and aviators on their way to fight the war rode troop trains across the nation, bound for Europe via the East Coast or the Pacific via the West Coast. The Union Pacific Railroad trains that transported the soldiers always made 10-minute stops in North Platte to take on water.
The townspeople made those 10 minutes count. Starting in December 1941, they met every train: up to 23 a day, beginning at 5 a.m. and ending after midnight. Those volunteers greeted between 3,000 and 5,000 soldiers a day. They presented them with sandwiches and gifts, played music for them, danced with them, baked birthday cakes for them. Every day of the year, every day of the war, they were there at the depot. They never missed a train, never missed a soldier. They fed six million soldiers by the end of the war. Not 1 cent of government money was asked for or spent, save for a $5 bill sent by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The soldiers never forgot the kindness. Most of them, and most of the townspeople who greeted them, are dead. And now, in 2018, those 21 busloads from the 142nd Field Artillery were on their way, expecting to stop at some fast-food joint.

A Soldier Never Forgets North Platte

“We couldn’t believe what we saw when we pulled up,” Col. Jaskolski said. As each bus arrived over a two-day period, the soldiers stepped out to be greeted by lines of cheering people holding signs of thanks. They weren’t at a fast-food restaurant: They were at North Platte ‘s events center, which had been opened and decorated especially for them.
“People just started calling our office when they heard the soldiers were on their way,” said Lisa Burke, the director of the visitors’ bureau. “Hundreds of people, who wanted to help.”

The soldiers entered the events center to the aroma of steaks grilling and the sound of recorded music: current songs by Luke Bryan, Justin Timberlake, Florida Georgia Line; World War II songs by Glenn Miller, the Andrews Sisters, Jimmy Dorsey. They were served steak sandwiches, ham sandwiches, turkey sandwiches, deviled eggs, salads and fruit; local church groups baked pies, brownies and cookies.

Mayor Dwight Livingston stood at the door for two days and shook every soldier’s hand. Mr. Livingston served in the Air Force in Vietnam and came home to no words of thanks. Now, he said, as he shook the hands and welcomed the soldiers, “I don’t know whether those moments were more important for them, or for me. I knew I had to be there.”

“It was one soldier’s 21st birthday,” Lisa Burke said. “When I gave him his cake, he told me it was the first birthday cake he’d ever had in his life.” Not wanting to pry, she didn’t ask him how that could possibly be. “I was able to hold my emotions together,” she said. “Until later.”

When it became time to settle up, “the Army, after all, had that money budgeted for snacks” the 142nd Field Artillery was told: Nope. You’re not spending a penny here. This is on us. This is on North Platte.”
