I’m Sick And Tired

I’ve been feeling stressed and burned out lately. Mom has been a big factor in that. So when I saw that her schedule is mostly clear this week I told her I was taking some time off. So I caught a mild cold.

I’ve just been vegging the past few days.

I gotta admit I was worried about Kavanaugh.

I was just thinking of the phrase “sick and tired” actually.
I was thinking “When you get sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, that’s when you decide to go full carnivore.”
You should try it Klown. Two weeks, just meat and animal products.

  4. Dora says:

Please Mr. President – don’t even think about it!

    • Mt.Laurel says:

I think it would be a bad idea even if Ivanka were not his daughter as she simply does not have the right stuff. But it does make me think that the reactionaries would be praising Hildegarde and Billy Goat Gruff if they appointed the even less qualified Chelsea.

    • blowme0bama says:

      Agreed. Do. Not. Want.

  5. Underwhelmed says:

Sorry to hear you’re under the weather, Klown. Life at the moment is pretty challenging. I second the suggestion for a red meat/protein mega boost. Insufficient protein impacts the immune system. So go for it, and boost your system. Also, thanks for giving us this oasis of sanity in a mad, mad world. Especially now!

Along with that, try an infusion of super chicken soup. Take some chicken, or the leftovers from a rotisserie chicken, cover with water, throw in a couple few celery sticks, an onion or two, a bunch of carrots, some cloves of garlic ,salt and pepper and whatever spices you like, boil for 10 minutes, then slow summer for about five or six hours, or until the bones are soft. Strain it, and drink the broth, or use it for soup. You can feel the effect!

    • lateblum says:

      What swannie and helenk said!
Also, it isn’t unusual when a stressful time suddenly (or even not so suddenly) comes to an end, to become physically sick – just like your coming down with a cold. It’s pretty well documented.
      Feel better. Drink 🍲(soup)

  6. Cisco says:

    On A/Justice Kavanaugh
The “protesters” WILL not go away.
Every dissenting opinion that he gives will be harshly criticized by the assorted left bunch of tools.
Not some or most, each and every one
    4 women law clerks?
Oh, the media is already salivating at the scandals only they will be able to discover.
Dem’s will, as always smear, lie, distort and continue the character assassination of Kavanaugh.
By no means is this over.

    • Myiq2xu™ says:

      Thanks for cheering me up.

      • Cisco says:

        I’m a professional.
        It’s what I do.
Seriously, I watched the Kavanaugh ceremony last night and watch the video a couple of times.
        Things I noticed.
A/Justice Thomas would applaud vigorously when the moment called for applause, the rest of the Justices, perfunctory at best.
Thomas had been in the same position Kavanaugh was, so I believe it was a fighter acknowledging another.
There was a moment when the audience rose to their feet and gave applause, the other mopes just sat in their seats.
Poor RBG looked like she was going to fall asleep at any moment.
Now, when Kavanaugh was taking the oath, the look that his two daughters gave home as he spoke the words just melted my heart.
You could see the love and pride they were feeling.

I agree, but don’t fear what they’ll be doing because the ‘normal’ voters will see it for what it is and the end result will be a smaller and smaller democratic (lower case used intentionally) voter base. DJT is already the leader of the Normal party, and more and more Republicans in office will be sliding over to support the Normals, resulting in at least 5 more Normal presidential terms. Since by then I’ll be at least 106, I can probably live with that.

FB keeps telling me that today is General Elections in PA.
    Talk about Fake News!

But the court made news by what it didn’t do. The court refused to hear an appeal of a D.C. Circuit ruling that — shockingly — limited what the Environmental Protection Agency can do.
    Guess who wrote that opinion?
Of course, Kavanaugh wrote the D.C. Circuit ruling. If it were written by Gregory G. Katsas no one would care.

  12. SHV says:

“President Donald Trump says he has heard that his daughter Ivanka Trump would be a good replacement for former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, but he says that it would cause accusations of nepotism” I also see Jared’s name mentioned…..only one small problem, it’s illegal.

    “5 U.S. Code § 3110 – Employment of relatives; restrictions” (1967?)
I remember this as the RFK Law, LBJ’s revenge on RFK and the Kennedy’s. The major impact, IMO, was it stopped the practice Congress critters hiring their wives, kids, etc. to staff their offices. In retrospect it was probably better to have family staffers than the permanent class of Congressional staffers who just move from office to office after elections.

  13. taw46 says:

So, we were still getting squalls about an hour ago. Our neighbor lost part of a tree. Hopefully all has passed by us now. It’s a big, powerful storm, for us to get outer bands so far away. I feel so bad for everyone who will be affected.

  14. lyn says:

    The M-word. LOL.

  15. NewOrleans says:

    I sympathize, Klown.

Caregiving can literally suck the life right out of you. It’s exhausting and all-consuming and, for me, it’s a struggle just to find enough joy in little things that will keep you fighting another day.

    Keep in mind: we care.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

      This!!!
At the advice of others who cared for family members, I always kept at least one non work outside activity that got me out of the house up so I had an outlet. Your mind and body need to be able to reset.

    I think Eric is right.

    • elliesmom says:

I’ve been on a whale watch where we reached over the side of the boat and stroked the whales. It was a mom and her calf. Baleen whales are very gentle.

“sick and tired” usually triggers my Ted Neeley but here’s the John Legend version….

  21. lyn says:

“While all this crazy has been going on, the Democrat leadership has been silent and that’s foul. Democrat leaders ought to have been out there telling people to calm down. Telling them that this is how a representative democracy works. Telling them to vote if they want change. But none of them did.”

  22. Somebody says:

Sorry you are under the weather Klown. I’ve been fighting a nagging cold myself for over a week. It devolved into sinus infection and mild bronchitis so I’m on antibiotics and feeling so much better 72 hours after starting them.

I purchased Traditional Medicinals Gypsy Cold Cure tea, which you can pick up at the grocery, Wal-Mart what have you. It really helps, but only lasts a few hours. There is also Hey Girl, Feel Better tea which works better and tastes better but it is a LOT more expensive and I only found it online.

Figures you catch a break from DMD and you get sick. That’s how it works for me every time I have a few days off.

That is a sack of Trump-hating drivel. We’ve had two presidents impeached and one resigned and yet we can’t survive Donald Trump’s wholly legitimate election?
