Where is MY Press Pass?

Is it Friday the 13th?

For those of you who didn’t take out lots of $$$ in student loans for law school, “5th Amendment grounds” means “due process.” Don’t worry, this isn’t over. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

What a crock of shit. Where is my press pass? The Constitution says I am entitled to one.

There is actually a lot to unpack in this case. In addition to an appeal, the White House has lots of options. This was a TRO hearing, but there will still be a contested hearing unless the White House drops the issue. But they can also institute a new set of rules for anyone wanting a press pass, including all the current pass holders. IOW – they can (and should) create a process for issuing and revoking passes so that they can give Acosta due process the next time he acts out during a presser.

Meanwhile, in other news, I seem to have my internet service restored. We’ll see how it goes.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth.

This is for all you educated people that think uneducated people are dumb. Let’s see how this works out for you and your family if this country keeps pushing for socialism.

“Do you know how to catch wild pigs?”..
There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.
The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country’s government and install a new communist regime. In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: “Do you know how to catch wild pigs?”
The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said that it was no joke. “You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free food”.
“When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence”. “They get used to that and start to eat again.
You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side”. “The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd”.
“Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.”
The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America . The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare entitlements, medicine, drugs, etc., while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time as the government forces us to participate in many of these programs whether or not we want to.
One should always remember two truths: There is no such thing as a free lunch, and you can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself. If you see that all of this wonderful government “help” is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to share this with your friends.
God help us all when the gate slams shut!

I follow a NY History photo group on FB. Lots of interesting Ellis Island photos and lessons of early immigration. The rules were much simpler for entry and we had no federal welfare programs at that time. People came here simply for the opportunity, not hand outs. We need to go back to that and maybe these migration caravans will stop.

Don’t worry, it’s here. And don’t let Deblasio off on this one, he should have shut the city/schools down before noon. He’s blaming everyone but himself for the bad call. I was in NYC when a hurricane was off the coast of Virginia and Guiliani sent everyone home and closed schools, because the track was headed to NYC. That was a good call 🙂

Like the good little (socialist) Democrat he is, it’s not his fault.

        • DeniseVB says:

There’s even worse photos on that #Snowvember tag. Scary what those poor people had to go through, kids even spent the night in schools. DB’s like blaming the storm for hitting at rush hour, but the streets were untreated because only a “dusting” was forecast. No, idiot, you prepare for the worse and hope for the best. It’s why Guiliani “overreacted” with Floyd, a minor hurricane, but moving millions of people out of your city takes hours, and he was thinking of his first responders work load also. The difference between those two mayors is mind boggling.

The connors ratings are not terrible if it were a cheap show, but its not. Abc is launching a netflix type service. If she was valued they would have moved her.

      • mothy2017 says:

Netflix has a reputation of giving talent a lot of room. She might work with obamas or produce, but her temperament would put off creative minds that want freedom of expression. Ryan Murphy left Fox when abc bought them because he didn’t want to be disneyfied. She is not worth the risk.

    Never marry crazy
“A fight broke out in a closed-door meeting of House Democrats over climate change as a powerful veteran lawmaker fought with freshman star Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other members-elect over the creation of a special panel for the issue,” Politico reported.

The youngest member of Congress is also its craziest. She believes her race, her sex, and her religion (Marxism) entitle her.

The story said she is one of many such bunny-in-the-boiling-water freshmen congressmen.

Politico reported, “New Jersey Rep. Frank Pallone, incoming chairman of the powerful Energy and Commerce Committee — backed by a number of other committee members — slammed the creation of the new climate panel, according to multiple sources in the room. Pallone argued that his committee and other existing panels within the House could take on the issue aggressively.

“But Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Rep.-elect Joe Neguse (Colo.) and some of the other progressive incoming lawmakers fought back, saying they ran on the issue and needed to do it. Ocasio-Cortez earlier this week pushed for a Green New Deal as she backed more than 200 young protesters at House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s office.”

Ah yes, the Occupy Granny protest.

Or maybe she was just looking for a place to stay until she gets that first paycheck.

    • 49erDweet says:

Please remember, dear TCHer’s, that it’s early days, yet. That “missing” number is known to be very wrong. Includes hundreds of people who relocated to their own, personal, safe areas, not the official ones, and just haven’t checked in yet. There will be more dead located, but I’d be surprised if it’s more than a dozen or so.

The biggest question I had as a kid was whether Swee’ Pea, the baby, was really a foundling or if she was really Olive Oyl and Popeye’s baby. My Aunt Thelma, who was a character in her own right, told me Olive’s mom and dad were embarrassed by her becoming pregnant before she got married so they sent her to a “special home for wayward girls”. When Olive couldn’t bear to part with her baby, her family let her bring the baby home with her, but they tried to pass it off as a kid they had adopted. The truth got out, and Olive got to raise the baby herself. Popeye was not the baby’s father, but he was a stupid enough schmuck to help her with the kid. I was about five when she told me this real story behind Olive’s life. Later, I would learn she was telling me the story of her own life, including finding herself a sailor who adored her and would do anything to win her hand, including beating up Brutus.

I’ve been fixing mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software things my entire life. If a manufacturer wants to create a device that becomes a doorstop or paperweight when it fails, that’s their choice. I don’t have to buy that product. When the rechargeable battery in my doorprize iPod Nano, I was told by Apple support guy it would be cheaper to buy a new one than to replace the soldered-in battery. Ok, fine. Rather than spend $100 on a new Nano, I bought a 20 dollar mp3 player that uses a single AAA battery.

I have a friend who designed a guitar effects box to get a very nice, unique sound. He wants any production models to have their innards encased in epoxy so no one can steal his design. I have no problem with that.

Michigan College Cancels ‘The Vagina Monologues’ Because ‘Not All Women Have Vaginas’

Leaders at a college in Michigan decided to cancel its production of “The Vagina Monologues” because it’s discriminatory, given “not all women have vaginas.”

The women’s resource center at Eastern Michigan University put the kibosh on the famous production since it caters only to women who have the physical anatomy that accompanies the female sex, according to The Ann Arbor News.

The decision came after the resource center conducted a survey, asking respondents about “The Vagina Monologues.” Those opposed to the drama said they were concerned about the fact that the production excludes some women, namely those who don’t have vaginas.
