Tuesday Open Thread

Considering how slobbery the media was about O’Beto last night, there’s very little coverage of his rally.  Same ole photos blasted through social media on a loop, many seem to be manipulating crowd size.  Oh well, it’s always a great to wake up to coffee and Trump is still my President.  😀

Of course, be sure to catch up with the latest news downstairs, some of the best comments arrive while I’m diddling with a new post 😉 Going to go dig through the trash over on twitter under the Beto trending. My gawd, his supporters are worse than the swoony-toons Obama attracted. That’s not going to help the lady Dem candidates, lol !

  2. Venus E. Lee says:

MSM is lying –saying Beto had 7,000 You know if that was true there would be all kinds of pictures of it. I finally found 1 –while he was on stage even, so there can be no argument that it was taken earlier. This is not 7,000

    • DeniseVB says:

Well, well, well, Beto sure had a little help didn’t he? From every anti-Trump Soros funded org it seems. That wasn’t a Beto rally has much as a hate Trump celebration.

      • taw46 says:

“Helped us organize”? I believe they organized/paid and he stepped in for the press coverage. I saw somewhere that Annie Liebowitz was there taking photos of him.

        • DeniseVB says:

This Hate Trump mob event was planned long before Trump announced his rally. I think you’re right. Of course, trying to confirm this with a reliable media source has been impossible. There are no reliable media sources 😉

Last night, I stayed up way too late, following post game trending TrumpRally, ElPaso, Beto and other hot topics, this morning Beto was at the top and no signs of the other topics. Twitter is so predictable now. I can’t even trust most conservative reports which seem more like “I know you are but what am I ?” I think there was one tweet that stuck out, some floozy who said, I don’t care about crowd size I rather be with the hot guy than the old orange fart. Ok, paraphrased. Good thing social media wasn’t around in the 60’s, this guy could have become president too 😉

This is the only crowd-from-stage view I can find, it looks weird. Can you photoshop/CGI video? Y’know like they do in Star Wars crowd scenes with matchsticks, lol !

    • mcnorman says:

The turd had no more than 150 tops. They eventually went over the Donald’s rally to stir up trouble. The riot police were wearing full gear. It was serious. They didn’t do squat except shout out vulgar cuss words as we walked passed them.

    • jenlyn says:

Ah but Venus you forget the new ‘truth’ that brought us Obama and now Beto (and every single freaking asshole in-between and still lining up) which is when our side has like 100,000 people at an event that equals 1 and vice versa. While Obama got “C’s” in junior college he was so smart that Lawrence Tribe felt he was an equal (bullshit) and Trump and all the rednecks racists who support him are idiots. Supporting criminals is cool but paying for our seniors, our mentally ill and veterans is race baiting nonsense. Wearing a red MAGA hat is grounds for getting beaten but waving a Mexican flag and denigrating America for not letting in criminals who will sign up for free everything is to be extolled. When Farrakhan talks about how Hitler got it right about Jews this is not racist but when I speak about how black culture is the reason why most blacks are not succeeding in life is racist. Truth is now lies and lies are now truth dumb is now smart and smart is now dumb and numbers are not concrete but rather fuzzy and does ANYONE remember 9-11. Beto is white Obama and he will definitely be on the ticket because he is exactly what Americans want more lies because facing truth is HARD and having a dodo bird with a goofy grin tell you how wonderful you are and how everything can be free is EXACTLY what people want to hear. If we don’t fix voter fraud we will have minutes instead of days left of this country. I thank GOD for Donald Trump and his family and simply pray that by a miracle he is president and his son after him and his son after him until I pass because my heart and brain cannot take anyone else at this point.

      • DeniseVB says:

I hear ya. What a clusterfuck MSM has become in the past 24 hours. Watching PT at his rally last night, I kinda expected blowback, but not on this creepy level.

    https://theweek.com/speedreads/823268/trump-seemed-interested-beto-orourkes-evidently-larger-crowd-during-el-paso-rally

Is this why the left insists on New Math being taught in school, so stories like this would be believed?

    • DeniseVB says:

Angie nailed it last night, liberals will tell you what to believe because they said so. Scrolling through the Beto (lastest) trending is a repeat of the same tweets over and over saying Beto had 90 billion people at his rally and Trump only had 6,000, Even the fake news is using “sources close to the fire chief’s cousin” agrees with that count. Sources say is fake news 😀

    • DeniseVB says:

I keep hearing Biden/Beto , but I doubt Dems will run two white men, can’t use their misogyny and race cards. Beto seems to have a Bernie-like following, oh wait, he may be running too? The only reason I’m not laughing at the Dem clown car of candidates, is voter fraud, and they only need it to work in key districts to win the Electoral College. That is, if they don’t get rid of it by 2020. One of those clowns may be our next president. Yikes!

      • taw46 says:

That worries me too. They have a bill to introduce on “voting rights” that will legalize their voter theft. HR1.

As someone pointed out, Trump people at rallies are happy people. Not the kind to go attacking anyone. And his hat was new, still had a price tag on it. And people around him say he was alone and did not interact with anyone. Sounds suspicious to me. Of course MSM has it all over twitter, Trump Supporter Attacks Press!!!!!!

They have some of the most beautiful archicture there and navy pier in fun to see. it will make the trip more interesting.
When I made that trip during the layover I went to the Al Capone museum but it is closed now I think. It was fun. I bought my husband an umbrella that said for when it is raining bullets

    question
if AOC gets her way and bans planes, we will need to build a railroad bridge to Hawaii. When the trains start running, the train crews are only allowed to be on duty for 11 hrs and 59 minutes. Where will the train be recrewed in the middle of the ocean? You can not send a deadhead crew on the train from their home base as deadheading counts towards hours of service. I do not think many crews would want to be stationed in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, not too much to do there.
The trains to Cuba could go throw the Triangle and disappear. That could cause some crew problems.

    • lateblum says:

Maybe they can start building “torpedo trains” and chunnels from the mainland.
This Green New Deal and it’s consequences is true idiocy run amok. Or is peoples isolated from each other by virtue of no meaningful transportation the goal? I can see real evil in the plan of eliminating fossil fuels and accessible transportation. In fact, as I am beginning to understand it, the only true green will be the envy fueled by the resulting poverty, isolation and servitude.
      Where is that tinfoil?

      • lyn says:

        Submarines are the new planes.

      • Somebody says:

Eliminating fossil fuels is a wet dream of the very far left. I briefly reconnected with an old friend a couple of years ago, major Obamabot, far left hole prog.

She sat here and told me about how fossil fuels had to be eliminated. This woman globe trots, I pointed that out. She smiled and said “Isn’t it great, we lived in the best of times. Unfortunately we didn’t know the consequences but we do now and fossil fuels must be eliminated”. This woman has a son, so I ask about him and possible grandchildren, pointing out the myriad of struggles to just feed people without fossil fuels…….again she smiles and tells me we lived in the best of times,WTF.

I really wanted to tell her if she had a death wish just go ahead and off herself, but I thought that might be a tad rude 😉 Southern hospitality and all that, bless her pea picking little heart 😛

    • elliesmom says:

I guess if we really did do away with planes, travel to Hawaii and to Europe would return to ship travel. But if getting rid of fossil fuels was the goal, they’d have to travel under sail.

        • Somebody says:

Me too! My Lucy looked like that except she had cream highlights on her ears not dark and she also had the cutest cowlick running up her snout. Apparently what I called a cowlick all her life, I found out after her death is called a huntersbroad crest. Anyway she was red with cream highlights.

Macy has the dark ears and tail and a tiny bit on her shoulders, but as she’s gotten older she’s lost most of her sable. She has dark ears and cream highlighted feathers similar to Burns, but her coat hasn’t come in very long. I know, I know, it can take up to 3 years. She has feathers but only her butt and tail are full so far 😏

Mitzi, the smaller of the 2 has remained sable and she has a gorgeous, full coat. Unfortunately she’s the one that was bitten by the brown recluse twice, so she has a big bald spot (huge scar) on one side. Her coat has gotten so long it has almost covered the bald area.

        • Mt.Laurel says:

That is why Collies and Clumbers get my first two spots. First dog was the black and white rough collie my oldest brothers had picked out as a puppy. He was on his last legs but would sit with me while I payed with color-forms or read with his head in my lap. But relatives had doxies and Bassetts that I loved. Now the terriers loved me but I found them, much like the long haired chihuahua I was gifted, a bit much.

I had a friend who worked dogs shows for years. She was a little itty bitty thing but could handle those dogs regardless of size in the ring.

So my only story worth sharing
Train was almost two hours late my sis had been up all night. She told me to take a hike as she wanted both seats. There was an observation type car. Yuuuge windows. Chairs faced out. I got an OJ with some kick and settled down to watch the world go by. A woman made the mistake of saying hello to me. We talked for hours. I assume she was late 40’s. Very attractive attending an event for women that bike. We talked for hours. She has a kid studying abroad. Her daughter wants her to join her in Greece for spring break. She is/was hesitant. She has never been to Europe. He daughter is only spending one term and she does not want to infringe. I said go it must be providence. Your daughter is studying in Florence, Italy you meet a stranger on the train at 730 am who is drinking with abandon before God is awake heading to Florence, SC. There’s a sign if ever there was one. Bonus she’s also a Trump supporter. We hugged in DC (I never do hugs) sadly it was hours of drinking by DC we didnot exchange contact.
DC was annoying. My sis was worried about checking meds so by the time we found the place where you can do drop offs there wasn’t a lot of time. We took a cab to Trump International. My sister was worried about how she was dressed. We went in anyhow. The service was amazing. We went to the bar. I hated the stools. Big chairs. I got to meet three very nice women doing charity work. Catholics that love Trump from Ohio. I had two bourbons at 27 a pop. We took a cab and ate by the station.
I have had a great time, but its too much on my sis. I think she is going to stay in SC. It’s flat so she can take walks. So far in Florence I have just walked outside by myself. My sister sits and talks with my sister in law. They enjoy that. I have fashioned a diving rod looking for booze. I had to walk to a place called piggly wiggly to buy wine.

  26. mothy2017 says:

Florence is interesting. On the same block there are very modest one story homes that remind me of camplands. They are like trailers but home. Next door is almost a mansion. Two/three stories. Wrap around porch. Landscaping. We don’t have such close divisions of wealth in the burbs. We have the real poor areas and then better places most people are in the middle. Weather is odd. It was 44 when I went out at 11. 77by by noon. People in nice homes park in the yard????????
Oddest thing so far is that I have seen no one walking. Still midday but where I live people are always outside. Even stranger people say hello from their cars while I am waiting for a walk sign.

    • taw46 says:

Lol, welcome to the South, Tim. And I still say hello to everyone I see. And I remember Piggly Wiggly stores. So, if your sister decides to stay in Florence, what will you do? Continue on to AZ?

      • mothy2017 says:

No. I have already missed the brat playing volleyball. Choices. I would and can travel but at 52 cheering a kid means more.

        • lateblum says:

If my sis stayed in Florence, I’d probably go back to cheer at volleyball games, too. Follow your heart, as those mindless Hallmark movies continue to say. 💕

          • mothy2017 says:

No regrets. The area is nice where my brother is, but I have never seen multi million dollar homes next to bungalows. I think about the kid non stop. I could not would not send my kid to a school where I could not provide her every opportunity. If I could spend 5 million on a home I wouldn’t want to be ostentatious. Where I live its just different. Some of these homes look like plantations. Two doors down a glorified shack. To me its very strange.
