VINDICATION

Let me quote the acting AG’s letter to Congress:

“The Special Counsel’s investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election.”

Crazy theory – Stone and Cohen are going to jail. What if the entire witch hunt was meant to dissuade Trump from going after tbe REAL criminals. They will never leave him alone if he prosecutes the she devil.

  6. DandyTIger says:

So how best for Trump to drain the Obama/Hillary collusion? Wait until he’s re-elected. If he pushes now, it will take away from the Dems continuing their witch hunt instead of legislating. Wait until he’s re-elected, then do a full clean house. As in Godfather baptism scene.

  10. DandyTIger says:

This article was linked before, but if you haven’t read it yet, read the whole thing. A few highlights:

Nothing Trump is accused of from now on by the press will be believed by huge chunks of the population, a group that (perhaps thanks to this story) is now larger than his original base. As Baker notes, a full 50.3% of respondents in a poll conducted this month said they agree with Trump the Mueller probe is a “witch hunt.”

Stories have been coming out for some time now hinting Mueller’s final report might leave audiences “disappointed,” as if a President not being a foreign spy could somehow be bad news.

Openly using such language has, all along, been an indictment. Imagine how tone-deaf you’d have to be to not realize it makes you look bad, when news does not match audience expectations you raised. To be unaware of this is mind-boggling, the journalistic equivalent of walking outside without pants.

There will be people protesting: the Mueller report doesn’t prove anything! What about the 37 indictments? The convictions? The Trump tower revelations? The lies! The meeting with Don, Jr.? The financial matters! There’s an ongoing grand jury investigation, and possible sealed indictments, and the House will still investigate, and…

Stop. Just stop. Any journalist who goes there is making it worse.

Still, Russiagate has led to unprecedented cooperation between the government and Internet platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Google, all of which are censoring pages on the left, right, and in between in the name of preventing the “sowing of discord.” The story also had a profound impact on the situation in places like Syria, where Russian and American troops have sat across the Euphrates River from one another, two amped-up nuclear powers at a crossroads.

As a purely journalistic failure, however, WMD was a pimple compared to Russiagate. The sheer scale of the errors and exaggerations this time around dwarfs the last mess. Worse, it’s led to most journalists accepting a radical change in mission. We’ve become sides-choosers, obliterating the concept of the press as an independent institution whose primary role is sorting fact and fiction.

We had the sense to eventually look inward a little in the WMD affair, which is the only reason we escaped that episode with any audience left. Is the press even capable of that kind of self-awareness now? WMD damaged our reputation. If we don’t turn things around, this story will destroy it.

CARL BERNSTEIN DEFENDS THE PRESS: ‘ONE OF THE GREAT REPORTING JOBS IN HISTORY’ [VIDEO]

CNN’s Carl Bernstein defended the media on Sunday against criticism of its coverage of President Donald Trump and the Russia probe, saying that the press “has done one of the greatest reporting jobs” in the history of presidential coverage.

IMO there is no way possible to thoroughly “clean” those two houses. The stench will stick to their walls for decades and decades. Tear down and rename, relocate and build anew is the only solution. If not, a century from now some wiseguy will throw this all back in the face of an as-yet-unborn feeb agent, and in the ensuing firefight escape prosecution.

      • Constance says:

The FBI, CIA and DOJ completely blew their reputations. People keep saying it was only a few guys at the top. Well how is it that the only corrupt people rose to the top? That is just not believable. And the fact that they think we are stupid enough to buy this excuse just shows how stupid The Powers That Be are. But I think we are all better off now that we know the truth, they have probably been rotten agencies for a long time.

    President Trump:

“After a long investigation, after so many people have been badly hurt, after not looking at the other side, where a lot of bad things happened, a lot of horrible things happened, a lot of very bad things happened for our country, it was just announced there was no collusion with Russia. The most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. There was no collusion with Russia. There was no obstruction and none whatsoever. And it was a complete and total exoneration. It’s a shame that our country had to go through this. To be honest, it’s a shame that your president has had to go through this. Before I even got elected, it began, and it began illegally. And hopefully, somebody’s going to look at the other side. This was an illegal takedown that failed.”

    • John Denney says:

News tonight is that the President was NOT exonerated on the obstruction allegations.

What a hoot. As if an innocent man would have obstructed the investigation he knew was going to come up empty.

think about this a former president and SOS (who was running for president) weaponized the FBI and DOJ to bring down a sitting president. A failed coup attempt that cost the American taxpayer millions of dollars.

    Goldberry:

The letter written by Barr is not the Mueller Report. It’s a selective summary and interpretation.

Barr was selected by Trump because he has a reputation of covering things up that make Republicans look bad, like he did with Iran Contra.

All this letter does is run out the clock. Trump gets to crow that he was exonerated (he wasn’t) and Democrats spend the next 20 months subpoenaing and beating their heads against a brick wall.

The truth will eventually come out. The SDNY, EDVA, NYAG, and DC courts will likely have the last words. The corruption investigations pile up. Michael Flynn still cooperates.

But we all knew when Barr was appointed that his job was to make this all go away for the Republicans. That’s his job, to cover it all up. If it wasn’t his job, he’d just release the full report with minor redactions.

He hasn’t. So we’ll just have to take his word for it.

    Sure.

        • Somebody says:

Boy I don’t feel so bad now. I just stripped the office area and relocated all the built-ins. On top of one of the cabinets I found a mailer package from 2006 addressed to my youngest from a friend of my mother’s. We opened it and inside was a wrapped Christmas gift, which was a very nice book on dinosaurs. She used to be really into dinosaurs back in the day. In my defense, I may not have been the one that put it on top of the cabinets. After she was diagnosed with cancer in September, we weren’t home very much she had lots of problems.

The Most Epic Media Failure in U.S. History

There is a pall hanging over the left side of the internet today. The disappointment is palpable. How is this possible, they’re asking? We were so certain that the president of the United States was a traitor — that Hillary Clinton didn’t lose the 2016 election because she was the worst candidate in modern history, but because Trump and the Russians worked together to steal it.

It’s like election night, November 2016, all over again.
