Did I mention that me and Mom are roomies now?

They didn’t sell my house, they moved Mom in here and are renting hers out.

I thought the cats would freak out. It took Tiggy about a week to decide he likes her room better than mine. Taggart joined him 2 days later.

    She’s making me crazy.

    • helenk3 says:

My mother was living with me the last 6 years of her life. And she had Alzheimer’s, so it was hard. For the last 2-3 yrs, my sister started taking her for 2 months at a time. That definitely helped my mental health. You are a good son. I never regretted doing that for my mother. Miss her.

      • DeniseVB says:

❤ to you too taw. I lost my mom suddenly to a massive stroke and to this day I think she's in heaven blaming me for it . 😛

Here’s the pitch: Brilliant young (Charlie Sheen/ type) blogger’s mom (ok, Holland Taylor/type) moves in with him after losing her home in a California wildfire with all her rescue pets. It’s meant to be temporary, hillarity ensues for 12 seasons. 😀

    • Mt.Laurel says:

      You are a good son

I’m in the same group with Taw . Had Mom for the last six years of her life. Three older brothers were diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The first about a year after Mom moved in with me. On one hand having dealt with uterine (where is is much easier to battle) I was able to provide a type of support that others could not. After the oldest passed (last diagnosed was first to pass away), Mom went downhill much faster. At times, the youngest brother with no family was also living with me. Chemo fog and Alzheimer’s. The conversations could be very interesting. I got to translate. All passed away before mom.

Mom was fully aware of the first two deaths, the third – well some days she knew he was gone and other days she would “see” him and strike up some very bizarre conversations as she also saw a lot of other relatives/friends. Then many days (well usually nights) not so nice hallucinations that would cause severe reactions and manic episodes. But on good hazy days, she enjoyed holding quite a few wakes, wedding showers and birthday parties for the dearly departed. No matter the original time-line (many before I was born), I was always “me”, plus I got to play the roles of several other people. Tea parties for the nonagenarian set. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

In some ways harder but in many ways easier to simply have elderly parents with you. But know that many of us have been there – so we understand – it changes your life in ways you never imagined. And we have a lot of experience to draw on and know there are days you will need to vent. And other days that are golden.

    • Somebody says:

You’ll both adjust Klown, it’s as difficult for her as it is for you I’m sure. I will just take some time to find a rhythm that works for you both.

I’ll add myself to the list of the experienced, my grandma lived with me as did my MIL (at different times). I took care of my father, but he didn’t live with me I drove to his house and took him to appointments like you’ve been doing for your mom. My MIL lived with me while I was taking care of dad, quite often I carted both of them around together, AND I had a newborn…eventually toddler on top of that. (I had 2 teens at that time too)

I survived and didn’t become an alcoholic!! Years later I basically moved out of state briefly to care for my elderly Aunt, she passed away not quite 8 weeks later.

There is an abundance of support and wisdom for the asking here at TCH.

Dallas Texas… Will stop prosecuting people for theft of personal items worth less than $750. It only applies to necessary items.

    • DandyTIger says:

Good reason to carry right there. If the police no longer do the job, you’ve got to do it yourself.

    • taw46 says:

Seems to me if you tell someone that they can walk out of a store with items up to $750, they will just go on a shopping spree every week. Not to mention that the store owners are the ones paying for it. That’s a lot of money considering how many potential “shoppers” he would have in his store. The left always likes to spend other people’s money. And then there’s the little problem of different laws for different people. They really are insane, aren’t they?

This happened April 5. Security cams just led to his arrest. Article says he drove around the cul de sac a few times before hitting them on the sidewalk????????????????????
Would never have heard of this if not for twitter. Are there other instances? Smells fishy to me. Guided. The dims are the extended Manson family. A race war would delight them.

  9. lyn says:

Bran was waiting for his old friend, eh? Does anyone else think Danareys will die?

    • elliesmom says:

I think she has to. They aren’t going to end the show with her and Jon sitting on the throne together. Even with the relationship being incestuous, that’s still too Disney. Arya is going to kill Jaime, steal his face, and then kill Cersei with Needle sort of fulfilling the prophecy. I’d least that’s what I’d like to see happen.

  10. Mothy67 says:

What is up with the spiral symbol Ned Umber was part of. Same thing with horses in an earlier season.

    • elliesmom says:

It’s the symbol for the White Walkers. Here’s the symbol for House Targaryen. Another clue that the Knight King might be a Targaryen is the similarity to the symbol for the House of Targaryen.

    • lyn says:

The first episode of season 1 had the circle with body parts, but it wasn’t as elaborate as the one with Umber.

    • taw46 says:

They blocked quite a few. I liked a tweet (happened to be one who was blocked), he/she sent me a tweet thanking me for the like, but said after a cursory read of my timeline, I sucked ass big time. 🤣

What was funny, his/her tweet was calling out the writer in LJ who only wanted to hear from people who agreed with her opinion. So apparently, the one who tweeted to me checks people who like or reply to his/her tweet, and if you don’t agree with his/her political opinions, then “you suck ass big time”. Lol at the hypocrisy, especially over a stupid “like”.

      • lateblum says:

Yes. I heard Maxine this morning on the news. She sounds like a product of inbreeding. Our news here is definitely “left leaning”. If they leaned any more left, they’d be on their sides one the ground. So I was surprised they’d play that clip.

On April 1, 2019, Breitbart News reported a Boston University School of Public Health study that found “assault weapons” ban and “high capacity” magazine bans have no impact on the homicide rate in the U.S. Moreover, pertinent to Rep. Willis’ claims about the dangers of a firearm in the home, researchers found “changes in household gun ownership were not found to be significantly associated with homicide or suicide rates.”

How much Federal grant money did those frauds at BU receive to publish that crap???
It took me 5 min to go to the FBI Expanded Homicide Data Table to determine that ~2.4% of homicides are attributed to all types of “long guns”, including shot guns. I suspect that “assault weapons” account for less than 1%.

SNEAK PEEK – Morning Joe already pivoting to advance Democrat Socialists next moves:

    1) Investigate entire Trump family in every way possible, focusing on security clearances for Jated snd Ivanka. The word ‘nepotism” was used 17 times in a 3 minute segment (yes, I counted…)

    2) Systematic assassination of AG Barr’s character and reputation. Hes already being cast as a personal friend of POTUS (🙄) Michael Steele was most vocal on this point.

2a) According to Beavis and Butthead, Jefferson Beauregard was a saint held captive by evil dictator Trump. Although they hated him when he was appointed, he is now cast as a martyr who was imprisoned in a tower and executed by the evil dictator.

    3) This investigation will continue past Trump’s presidency. This point is the most exciting to me, because they were floating out the possibility/probability that Trump will most assuredly win a second term. The investigation will continue beyond his tenure until he is indicted one way or another. Guilty or not, he and his family will most assuredly be convicted and imprisoned for (hold on…) collusion with a foreign power to undermine our democracy.

    • taw46 says:

Thanks for the preview of the insanity headed our way. I hear parts of MSNBC every day. They are really into smearing Barr ever since Mueller submitted his report. They never educate their listeners that Barr is following the statute/rules, never explain why Grand Jury testimony is protected. They continue to talk as if Trump colluded with the Russians and obstructed justice. So far gone, so crazy. And that is what my relatives watch every day. 😡

      • lateblum says:

Of course they don’t educate their listeners. It’s their job to braInwash those people so that NOTHING that even hints at “no collusion or conspiracy” will be held in skepticism. In fact, they are also changing the topic now. They are trying to change the narrative to say that there are new and different directions that need to be investigated.
I’m listening now and Mika sounds like a prophet of doom and Joe is trying to be the voice of moderation. But says that this phase of the investigation has “sullied” the reputation of Barr. I suppose because he hasn’t turned everything over to the MSM before giving the report to the WH. They are evil.

Agree. I’ve finally forgiven myself for my bromance with Jefferson Beauregard. The decisions I make in my love life are deeply flawed. I once dated a mobster who stole a white Lincoln Continental to give me as a make up gift after I dumped him. THAT should’ve been my first clue…

        • taw46 says:

I was all for Sessions as AG. I had great respect for him as a Senator, especially his attempts to try and get Congress to stop illegal and refugee immigration. He just wasn’t up the job of AG, his failing not ours. I still thank him for his service as Senator, but I am glad he is gone.

And lol at the Lincoln Continental.

      • Venus E. Lee says:

You are wrong. The only reason the public knows of the corruption in the FBI/DOJ to weaponize it against Obama/Dem political opponents is because of how this unfolded.
If Trump had done things differently –gone after illegal FISA wtc — then the MSM would have been able to paint him as the one “abusing” DOJ to go after his political opponents.
It had to be like this –Sessions played his role properly to put distance between Trump & Mueller investigation while also firing/retiring/demoting every single top person at FBI/DOJ who played a part in illegal spying. That is HUGE –but MSM doesn’t focus on it.
Also, there is no way Barr could have come in & in just a few weeks from starting say definitely that there was spying on Trump without evidence. That evidence was generated under Sessions, while media was focused on Meuller Time. Barr even said most of the work was done, he was only going to put it all together to review & see if anything was missed.

        • lyn says:

          Barr is the closer.

        • Shez ZK says:

Angie nails it. Sessions the “Silent Assassin”, was not only the cleanest rated Senator, he was a target of the O admin. Making him a *witness* to their crimes on a whole different level. He cleansed the departments, reset the Rule of Law, set in motion several other investigations. Then he recused as planned. he was part of the Transition, he would of never been able to do the actual upcoming “prosecution” stage. To keep the true perps off balance, (with their security clearances and *access to the intel investigating THEM* still operating), Trump & DOJ have been deliberately juggling the Directors and Acting Dir’s, which has deliberately irritated and enraged the DNC/MSM. Hand them a flashlight, give them a search party and a map of their asses, they’re lost. The second Sessions was replaced was the moment he became available to: testify. Just like Rod Rosenstein leaving, who is soon to be available to: testify. Barr has landed in D.C. and clearly told them today: “I’m going to fuck this little town up.”

          • lateblum says:

Great comment/explanation. I didnt know what to think of Barr in the beginning, but have grown to admire and give him credence. Hundreds Of Teens Run Through Downtown Chicago, Fighting And Disobeying Police

CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago police were dealing with hundreds of teens running through downtown Chicago Wednesday night, yelling, stopping traffic and running in the streets.

A huge police presence did not deter the rowdy behavior at Millennium Park.

    • lateblum says:

My attendance at the Grant Park Symphony concerts this summer will probably non-existent. The culture of Chicago and the wonders of the city will be the ultimate victims of the thugs and hoodlums and their “wildings”. Of course Rahm and his crew – and even earlier mayors – did nothng to limit this ugliness. So it leaves Lori Lightfoot, the AA lesbian mayor, at a distinct disadvantage. She can crack down on these “youthful” gangs and lose her credibility on the South and West sides, or she can continue the benign disregard that the other mayors have demonstrated. And there will be no room for the CSO, the Lyric Opera, the Joffrey Ballet, the Goodman Theatre, Lolla, Blues Fest, Jazz Fest, the Art Institute, the Museum Campus, the MCA, the many universities, maybe even the Marathon, and all the other cultural events that bring tourists, cityfolk, fans, fun seekers and money spenders into the city.
