Remember “Arab Spring?” It was the Obama-Clinton plan to remake the Middle East into The Happiest Place on Earth. All it did was make things worse. One of those worse things was Mohamed Morsi.
The good news is he’s dead. (A good terrorist is a dead terrorist.)
Mohamed Morsi, the former president of Egypt and top Muslim Brotherhood official who was ousted by the military in 2013 and had been standing trial for espionage, collapsed and died during a court session Monday, state television reported.
Morsi, 67, was in court when he suddenly blacked out and then died, according to state television.
An Egyptian judicial official told the Associated Press that Morsi had just addressed the court, speaking from the glass cage he is kept in during sessions and warning that he had “many secrets” he could reveal before collapsing minutes later.
Who says you never see justice in a courtroom?
We had a loyal ally in Hosni Mubarak. Mubarak took power after Anwar Sadat was assassinated. Mubarak kept to the Camp David Accords with Israel. But Mubarak weren’t no nice guy. Even worse, he represented the old way. He stood in the way of Barack Obama’s dream of fundamentally transforming the Islamic world, so he had to go.
In February 2011, he went, leaving the keys to Egypt with the military. The Obama-Clinton Axis of Incompetence advocated for free and democratic elections while subtly pushing for Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood to win. They won.
Minor problem: The Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization. In less than a year Morsi was ousted by the military and General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi took over as Egypt’s president. El-Sisi ain’t no nice guy either, but he is as good a friend as any we have in the Arab world.
