This Is What “Historic” Looks Like

For those of you who needed their beauty sleep, this is what Trump was up to in Korea. There isn’t a lot of talk-talk from the bloviating gasbags, which is good. Historic events don’t need a play-by-play announcer. There is even less talk in the clip at the bottom. Like none.

But both clips do demonstrate that the Korean security people (North and South) have zero respect for the holy status of journalists.

If you are waiting for me to tell you what this all means, keep waiting. I don’t know how this story ends, but good or bad, this is a big deal.

A note on the post title: I was gonna title it “Hey Obots! This Is What Historic Looks Like” because it was so annoying how the hardcore Obama supporters overused that word in reference to Teh Precious. They were like new parents excitedly showing you their newborn’s dirty diaper like their kid pooped diamonds. “He had his first B.M.!” as if it was a historic achievement.

Everything Obama did was historic. And if you don’t agree (or don’t show enough enthusiasm in your agreement) you are obviously a racist.

Now Trump is actually accomplishing some historic things, and the news media tries to shit all over it.

I’m one of those who needed my beauty sleep and I thank you very much for putting up these videos. They are indeed historic.

I am so proud of my president.

The big question: How will the Sunday morning news shows handle this? When people wake up in a few hours and turn on the news, what will they be seeing and hearing? The Sunday am’s are the tone-setters.

    • Anthony says:

From the murmers I’ve heard so far, they’re characterizing it as nothing more than a photo op, and already concluding that nothing will come of it and deeming it to be a failure.

From my point of view, its a risky move because I don’t believe that NK will end its nuclear program easily. That said, I’m proud that Trump has, at least, extended an opportunity to accomplish peace on the Korean peninsula while sticking it to both China and Russia who’ve recently begun courting NK. Wondering if this visit was part of the trade talks with China

      • votermom says:

I was wondering the same thing about China?.Do you know if Trump tweeted to Kim before he met Xi?

        • Anthony says:

I don’t think he did directly, but he did tweet at large that he was toying with meeting him at the DMZ. It was reported that afterwards, NK said there was no ‘formal invitation’, upon which teams from both sides hastily arranged. The rest is history.

My take is that this may have been part of trade and diplomatic negotiations with China. Korea is a proxy for both the USA and China in Southeast Asia. Recently, Russia and China have been engaged in their own negotiations with NK, and this move puts us in equal seating at that particular table.

There is potential here for the USA, China and Russia to broker a cautious, loosely crafted diplomatic alliance. THAT in itself would be an historic achievement that I have no doubt the Democrats and the MSM will do their best to shit all over.

      • lateblum says:

Watching FTN on CBS it is the first story. So far, no one is bashing it. They are saying “Let’s take a wait and see position” followed by warnings and statements of limitations r/t nuclear power to NoKo.
Larry Kudlow is saying the talks between NoKo and US will restart “at some point in the near future”. He is identifying problems and an imbalance with trade agreements and also praising the strength and patriotism of US farmers.
Of course, Amy Klobuchar is now saying this meeting is relatively meaningless because “nothing positive” has resulted from ANY of PDJT’s overtures toward our enemies. She compared his steps toward peace to “bringing a casserole to a neighbor”. She chooses to overlook the need for small steps when trying to “win” with people of different cultures.
(I think Klobuchar is an idiot who wants to push the socialist/communist agenda of the DSP and to be seen as relevant.)

I happened to see it live thanks to my bladder 😂 I woke up just in time, had the TV on. I didn’t see all of it though, I was back asleep before they went in the building. That NBC clip took some swipes at POTUS there at the end saying he was trying to rewrite history that POTUS was the cause of tensions due to rhetoric.

I have no idea if anything will come from this impromptu summit, but I am ever hopeful. I just don’t know if NK will ever give up their nukes willingly. Ghadaffi is the only one I can think of that did that and it didn’t end so well for him thanks to O and Hillary.

Glad I had insomnia at the right time and got to watch it. I kept flipping from MSNBC and FOX to see how they were reporting it. MSNBC was talking about Obama and quoting something from Ben Rhodes. I Don’t miss watching that crap, and to think just a few years ago, I use to try to watch every Sun. news show.

  6. DeniseVB says:

Wow, thanks myiq, first thing I did was enter my safe space here and watched the whole video before the vultures could pick at my brain. It was beautiful.

Local environmental groups, hold regular clean ups on Assateague National Park, othetwise, it would look like a giant trash heap, on the beautiful beach, and dunes. I don’t understand these so called progressives, who supposedly support “nature” but relentlessly trash it. There are signs everywhere, that say ” Leave nothing but your foorprints ” but they leave everything, and most of it is harmful to the environment, and especially the wildlife.

  18. taw46 says:

I was up until 4:3o am watching this. It was worth losing all my sleep last night. FNC had 3 people on to talk about it, but not over it as it was happening. Even the former State Department official under Obama was impressed that this happened. They know how brutal NK is and how hard it will be to get them to change. But they like that they met and agreed to both sides resuming negotiations. I just got up and saw a little of Joy Reid and the other racists on MSNBC. As you would expect, losing their shit. What struck me the most was how calm and adult Trump was and how giddy Kim seemed at seeing him once again. The Trump haters don’t want to admit that this was historic, no matter how it turns out. Of course we all know had it been Obama that did this, we would never hear the end of it.

    • taw46 says:

And Trump was indeed a badass as he strolled unflinchingly across the marker into NK.

      • tpcelt says:

From video I saw, PDJT walked out first, solo other than some press pool & some close-on (and stratospheric) security. Solo. Whatever happens, KJU knew that was a gutsy move for a POTUS on many levels. Especially since it had to involve China negotiations in some way. Also, KJU had been watching the G-20 just across the way in Osaka. All TV channels. PDJT went to the Isle of Misfit Toys and let KJU play in the reindeer games. No other so-called world leader did. PDJT just said ‘wassup, dud? I’m in the ‘hood and got some wheels to get there.’

        • tpcelt says:

He was also out there solo and for a slow, short stroll to the meeting point. Even in urban, controlled, ally/friendly airports, the slow, short descent from AF1 to tarmac is thought thru re security. Again, gutsy move.

    • taw46 says:

Their meeting was inside a building on the SK side, for at least an hour. They let the reporters in and Kim was quite talkative, he never talks in front of reporters. The whole thing was so chaotic (except for Trump, calmest person there). You had our secret service and security for both NK and SK leaders, and the press. NK security very nervous and not used to our obnoxious media, so there was shoving. We are fortunate that no one got trigger happy.

      • Myiq2xu™ says:

I hope Trump told KJU if the American reporters cause any trouble to rough them up a little. Not like Otto Wambier, but getting yelled at and shoved while picking up a few bruises would be good for them. Then they can go home and brag about how brave they were.

Milo Yiannopoulos named grand marshal of Boston’s ‘Straight Pride’ parade

    • elliesmom says:

While I know the parade that’s being planned is real, I think the motives behind it are mixed. Choosing Milo to be Grand Marshall was a stroke of genius. Part of the motivation is to hold the city’s feet to the fire to give the straight community the exact same access to a parade permit as the gay community has. The folks who have filed for the permit have presented the identical application as the gay group. The Mayor knows if he denies the permit, he and the city will be in court. The gay community in Boston has a history of causing issues for other groups, notably the people hosting the St. Patrick’s Day parade, so there is some payback involved. Then there’s the “anti-PC” aspect. Which is where Milo comes in. I expect there will a presence felt from the anti-LBGT folks. It will be hard to keep them away. They will be met by the “Liberty, Bacon, Guns, and Trump” people who would like to keep the parade a day of light-hearted fun. The wild card will be how the LBGT community responds. They’ve been invited to participate. Will they show up? If they do, will it be in fun or to protest. I saw where the theme of the parade is, “If we were queer, you wouldn’t be here”.

The media will have none of that, Orange Man Still Bad. Sigh.

WTF do love letters mean to this crazy bitch?

      • elliesmom says:

I’m guessing she’s never received a love letter. Warren’s first husband co-founded the DNA testing company she used that proved she isn’t a Native American. He’s dead, but his partner is who she hired. I bet he had a good laugh. Lizzie cheated on Jim Warren with Bruce Mann, her current husband. They married after her divorce was final. Jim Warren was a highly successful man, but his career didn’t do anything for Lizzie’s. Bruce Mann was an ivy league lawyer who could open doors for Lizzie. They were both on the faculty at U Penn and at a Harvard. It’s what’s known as a “twofer”.

I don’t know Ivanka’s resume, but I’d guess she was no slacker with her grades. I know she started her own company and was successful prior to being an executive with Trump Corp. POTUS made his children learn the business doing grunt work, much like his father had done with him. Ivanka revolted after 1 summer and got a job as a model. Did that then started her own business trading on the family name, but I’m sure he worked hard to make it a success. Then her father talked her into coming back to the family business.

      • Myiq2xu™ says:

Speaking from personal experience, stairs are a real challenge when you are shitfaced. It is a lot easier to crawl up the stairs than it is to crawl down them.

I climbed the stairs of the Mayan pyramid at Chichen Itza. If you stumbled and fell on those narrow suckers the only thing to stop you before you reached the bottom would be other tourists. B once you pick up speed it would look like a bowling ball scoring a strike.

According to legend (but disputed by historians), the stairs were built that way so after the Mayan priests cut out a prisoner’s still-beating heart they could just kick the body down the stairs to clean up the mess.
