Thomas Jefferson, Unperson

First, they came for the Confederate flag. Then they came for Robert E. Lee. Now it’s Thomas Jefferson’s turn in the barrel:

Charlottesville, Virginia, will no longer celebrate Thomas Jefferson’s birthday as an official city holiday and instead will observe a day recognizing the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans.

The city council voted Monday night to scrap the decades-old April 13 holiday honoring the slave-holding president and Founding Father. Charlottesville will now mark Liberation and Freedom Day on March 3, the day U.S. Army forces arrived in the city in 1865.

Charlottesville has been grappling publicly for years with how to tell its history of race and discrimination. Those efforts intensified after white nationalists gathered in the city in 2017 for a rally that descended into deadly violence.

The legacy of Jefferson, the nation’s third president, author of the Declaration of Independence and founder of the University of Virginia, has been a component of that ongoing debate.

Monticello is Jefferson’s former home. It is located at 931 Thomas Jefferson Parkway in Charlottesville, VA. Imagine Charlottesville without UVA or Monticello to bring in visitors. By far and away Jefferson is the most important person in Charlottesville’s history, and they won’t even celebrate his birthday. What a bunch of fucking ingrates.

Do you think there is even the slightest chance the Left will be satisfied with erasing Jefferson and stop there? Yeah, me neither.

    BWHAAAAA, about 50 people.

There’s always one or a group of loonies across from the white house, even during Obama, but those never made the media 🙂

    56 shot, 4 fatally.
How does the new Chicago mayor respond?
If you say raise some more taxes, you win.
“Mayor Lori Lightfoot said Monday she’s seriously considering asking the Illinois General Assembly to empower the city to broaden its sales-tax umbrella to include high-end professional-service providers like attorneys and accountants after Gov. J.B. Pritzker ruled out a state takeover of city employee pension funds.”

So he gets life in prison and the goon that greviously injured Ngo is still walking the street, or has arrest been made.
Fields did kill someone so I’ll take that in consideration of the sentence.

      • Constance says:

I think they arrested 3 people in the riot where Ngo was attacked. I don’t know if they were specifically charged with assaulting Ngo. We need to start pushing the narrative that Antifa is the new KKK

    Lol

Looks like the duly elected POTUS just contradicted the random, unelected DOJ attorney on the citizenship question. Now let’s see if the morons realize which one won the national election to be head of the executive branch of government. 🤣🤣🤣

They look like cool classic military equipment. I wish I could see them. What part of this don’t the idiot intellectual class get? They want to only celebrate the thought process involved in creating the USA and act like the military process didn’t occur or wasn’t necessary. I think it is great to celebrate the military history that earned us this country. The self appointed elite can go to hell, they are the people and class no one needs.

Dunkin Donuts ice coffee is da bomb

    • elliesmom says:

Rhode Island is the Dunkin’ Donuts capital of the world. There’s a rule that limits the number of intersections you have to pass before you come to a Dunkies. It’s the only establishment with a drive-thru in the town where I live. None at the bank or the CVS, even.

      • DeniseVB says:

I love when the winter storms hit New England the first tweets about it will be “is Dunkin open?” 🙂

        • elliesmom says:

You know how a lot of people are afraid to admit they voted for Trump? I can do that, but I have to keep it a secret that I don’t like coffee. Or as they say it in RI (but not Boston) “kawfee”. There are three shelves in the grocery store filled with coffee syrup. You have to hunt for chocolate. There’s a special name for a kawfee milkshake- a coffee cabinet. The first time someone asked me if I’d like to go out for one, I thought we were going to Home Depot. Sometimes it’s hard to believe I grew up only 60 miles away.

          • DeniseVB says:

We call it kawfee in honor of my dh’s Fall Rivah roots. (he hasn’t lived there since 1964 and still has his cute accent like “pahk the cah” ).

What will be scary is if the people of her district re-elect her.

      • Mothy67 says:

She’s trolling (for now). Like everything else with the dims it is coordinated. Frederica Wilson spewed some incoherent shit along the same lines yesterday. I think they are trying to outdumb themselves. Illegal to mock an elected official??? Do you think they ever hear themselves. Could anything scream dictator more?

        • DeniseVB says:

Good catch. Notice the @AOC , isn’t hers. LOL, Krugman is an idiot !

        • Constance says:

It is all coordinated but notice how the women reps are the only ones stupid enough to participate. It is like everything the sexists said to keep women from voting and participating in government is true and these idiot bitches are to stupid to know how “off” they look. I am to the point where I am not voting for women except in extreme cases.

    • elliesmom says:

Dear, you stopped being a “girl” awhile ago. Now, put on your adult underwear and take the insults that go with being both a congresscritter and stupid like a real woman would. You can start with reading the instruction manual that came with your garbage disposal. Learning what “RTFM” means might solve a lot of your problems. Then you could stop posting fake photos. If you want us to believe you’re hurting financially, try shopping at WalMart instead of Bergdorf’s. Trump isn’t there looking for lingerie models this year. And you’re not is type.

      • Mothy67 says:

        Ugh
Too early for my brain to work. AOC post has no check mark. Paul Krugman’s does but he is a laughing stock even more than aoc.

        • elliesmom says:

          It’s OK. I don’t have a checkmark, either. 😉

          • Mothy67 says:

In my eyes you have a great big blue check mark with ribbons and dancing puppies. ( i have really bonded with Gracie, the beagle, Still have to be careful but she no longer makes a run for it every chance)

        • Anthony says:

Krugman just coined the term ‘Troll Speech’ 🤣🤣🤣

One of the mother’s at school was struggling with credit card debt. She owns her home and has a decent car and retirement. She needed an extra 1,000 more a month for two years to get it under control. Bankruptcy was out of the question. Since the Trump economy took hold she was able to get a second job with very flexible hours and is near debt free. Three years ago she couldn’t arrange a part time job around her kids and work schedule. They had tons of applicants for every job. Single mom with two kids.

Long ago I toured the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburg, TN.

The good ol’ boy tour guide in his bib overalls pointed out the the aging barns, one on each of the surrounding hills.
“You know why there’s only one barn on each hill?”
      Nobody knew.
      “In case one catches fire.”

Oh, yeah. Hundreds of charred white oak barrels full of 95% pure alcohol would be quite the blaze.

  22. Mothy67 says:

Harmeet is raising funds separately from gofundme for Ngo’s legal fees. The city will likely have to pony up for his medical treatment. I hope his fund goes to a quadrillion billion trillion and then he and Covington Nick rent out Madison Square Garden to throw a victory watch party in 2020 while acosta is forced to work concessions at Disney on Ice.

    • DeniseVB says:

Do you have the linky? I wish Eric Trump would have pressed “assault” charges against the restaurant that spit on him, same for Sarah who was refused services at the Red Hen. Y’know, like that baker guy in Colorado? It’s the only way we can stop this madness.

    Elitist bitch.

  24. DeniseVB says:

For grins and giggles, I checked the Booking.com site for a DC hotel room from tonight through Saturday. Nothing available for under $400 with very few rooms left. Traditionally, 4th of July rates are the cheapest week of the year. This is a good sign, eat it Boycotters 😀

The tour buses were pulling into hotels even out where I live in upper Montgomery county this evening . I looked online and many I passed in all price ranges have no available rooms. there also has been a marked increase in out of state traffic this week.

Will local law enforcement take any action when antifa starts attacking people?
      I doubt it.

      • DeniseVB says:

Actually, at the Trump Inaugural, the Klantifa antics were well out of the security zone, but the media wanted you to think Danger! Danger! while showing them destroying liberal friendly businesses like Starbucks and Bank of America. That limo they set on fire was owned by a young black liberal just starting his own business.

The Deploraball was safe once local LEO’s found out about the plot putting a toxin in the ventilation system, busted, yet didn’t get much news coverage. We attendees had full protection from the mob outside the venue. We were constantly warned not to even make eye contact with the small mob yelling at us. One idiot decided to break the line and run into them with an American or Trump flag or something, one of the Klantifa’s grabbed his pole and bonked him with it, made him bleed. Yeah, that guy got on the news with White Surpremacist Gathering disrupted by Anti-hate Sweethearts headlines. Sigh.

DC will be safe, they have the best crowd control in the worrrrrld. My son’s unit was flown up from Miami for Obama’s first Inaugural. I thought that was pretty cool, Baby’s First Inaugural 🙂 He missed the whole thing since his group was assigned to Union Station to remove Code Pink’s Lay-In to block passengers trying to get to the ceremony.

I used to love reading my Dad’s S.A.C. Survival Handbook when I was a kid, and have since acquired several other survival books, which I keep with my Boy Scout handbook in my camping gear.

One, published by an Australian, states that any mammal is edible. You may not like it, but it will keep you alive.

I remember a news story about an undernourished African village where an aid organization taught them to make simple rat traps — a bucket with about 6 inches of water in it, set into the ground so it’s rim was at ground level, with a slender straight stick or metal rod axle pushed through the pith of a corncob to make a roller. Smear a little peanut butter in the middle of the cob, and lay the cob/axle assembly over the bucket. In the night, a rat walks out onto the corncob to get the peanut butter, the cob rolls on the axle, and the rat plunks into the bucket and drowns. Besides reducing grain loss to rats, the rats became an important protein source for the villagers. I can see how one might acquire a taste for it, if raised on it, and miss it when living in a foreign country.

Same with Google. Bullshit articles come up before information that isn’t Democrat approved dogma, but is real. It is to the point where Conservatives should evaluate which companies are censoring the most and advise their followers which platform to use. This should be changed every 30 days.

I think the self appointed “elite” can’t stand it that the military gets some official focus on July 4th and is allowed to bring out classic antique machines that insured our freedom in past wars. They want us all to ONLY acknowledge the thinking that formed the USA but not the blood and sweat and sacrifices that insured it. What a bunch of arrogant prickish assholes. If this one class we can do without it is the elitists. I love our military.

  34. John Denney says:

“The way to have good and safe government is not to trust it all to one, but to divide it among the many, distributing to every one exactly the functions he is competent to.
Let the national government be entrusted with the defense of the nation, and its foreign and federal relations; the State governments with the civil rights, law, police, and administration of what concerns the State generally; the counties with the local concerns of the counties, and each ward direct the interests within itself.
What has destroyed liberty and the rights of man in every government which has ever existed under the sun? The generalizing and concentrating all cares and powers into one body.”
