Hump Day Open Thread

I have a couple ideas for posts rolling around in my head but I’m too tired to put the pixels in the proper order right now. And by the time I wake up there will probably be some breaking news to cover. There are supposed to be some declassified docs relating to Russia!, Russia!, Russia! released today, and Orange Man is Bad every day.

One of Trump’s Pentagon nominees has been accused of sexual assault but he denies it and there is no corroboration. Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ) (a former USAF Lt. Col and a rape survivor) came to his defense. I caught a little bit of the hearing yesterday and the alleged victim was sitting in the back of the room mad dogging Gen. Hyten like a bad dog. She is obviously angry and bitter. The question is why?

An official investigation left him “Not Exonerated” so the Democrats want to lynch him now and ask questions later.

Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, said that “while we have not been presented with any corroborating evidence, the lack of it does not necessarily mean that the accusations are not true.”

Sen. Jellobutt and Sen. Fauxcahontas were getting ready for the debate and missed out on the fun.

I’m gonna try to get a few more hours of sleep. In the meantime here are some videos.

This last clip from MSLOL is thru the looking glass stuff – Trump didn’t solve Baltimore’s problems so it’s all his fault.

Mario Lopez is trending so I went to see what was up with Slater. He said 3 years should not be allowed to change genders. So they are out to get him at 7 am. Weird assed world.

    • Myiq2xu™ says:

Either the Democrats are crazy or we are. Both sides can’t be sane, but I guess we could all be crazy.

I don’t think I’m crazy, but if I was insane would I know it?

      • DeniseVB says:

Nah, they have OWS, BLM, Antifa, etc.

        We have, Scott Presler ❤

  2. Dora says:

Another Trump nomination; another hearing and another accusation. So what’s new?

This is what POTUS is talking about. It’s heartbreaking, and this is just the neighborhood. The devastation to people is even worse. I cannot imagine the hospital ERs, in any given night, or day, for that matter.

My first job, as a nurse, was at Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital, in Baltimore City. At that time, we had whole units of inner city babies, all the way up to age 4, that had been pulled out of their homes due to hazardous conditions, and were being treated for lead poisoning. That treatment, is not an easy thing, and we treated those babies until their lead levels were non threatening. Most of those babies and toddlers were black. It is so disheartening, to think that this might have been what the future held, for those babies, who are probably grown up now, and hopefully still alive.
But call me racist, for wanting better than this stultifying rat infested ghetto for babies I may have taken care of, in 1979.

  6. Mothy67 says:

    Ummm. No he’s not.

Ten minutes after I finished watching Amazon’s The Boys he passed off a quote from the show as his own.

I’m waiting for the folks from a stairlift company to come to the house to evaluate our inside stairway from the main house to the garage for a lift. Elliesdad is home from the hospital and getting stronger, but he’s living in the grandkids “summer quarters” off our garage. I’d like to bring him upstairs, but he’s afraid he won’t be able to ever get back down, and fear is a terrible thing. I figure this thing will be great for sending the laundry up and down the stairs so why not?

    • Mothy67 says:

How’s he feeling other than the stairs?

      • elliesmom says:

He’s getting sronger and being highly cooperative. He really didn’t want to go to rehab. I think because he ended up in the hospital because he didn’t have the strength to get out of the house, he’s overly worried about getting stuck here. But the stairlift guy was a hoot, and it’s apparently going to be an easy install. Two hours this Friday morning. And it comes with a laundry basket attachment. 🙂 His OT, PT, and visiting nurse are lovely ladies, and he’s enjoying being fussed over. I really like the Occupational Therapist. I gave her a “tour” of his man-cave, and she’s working on coming up with some things he’ll find engaging. He’s getting around better with a lot less assistance. He doesn’t see as much progress as I do, but he does see some. After spending a few days in our “summer camp”, he says he sees why the kids don’t want to go home, but he would like to come back into the main part of the house so he’s excited I found someone to do the lift so quickly. I might be up for sainthood so I need to think of a nice gift I want. lol

        • Mt.Laurel says:

😊Just about everyone I know who got a stair lift found them very useful and not just for the person with mobility problems so hoping it works well for your situation.

. Laundry is a given but also as the loved one becomes more independent – it helps the spouse/caregivers. And Ellie’s Dad is not alone – going down the stairs is often more difficult because vertigo and other factors increase with age. Climbing steps rarely elicits such responses.

        • DeniseVB says:

❤ It does get easier once you get into the routine of visiting healthcare providers, they'll become part of the family and you'll be sad on their last visit 🙂

Let's see, a giftie for EM ? Level Sainthood …. how about a cute little VW convertible? They are soooooo cute, but sit too low for my bionic man. 😉

          • elliesmom says:

I already drive a little blue BMW convertible. I got that the last time I was a saint. I’m thinking he needs to agree to take a vacation with me.

          • DeniseVB says:

GMTA ! I was close, wasn’t I ? Well, give or take 30k 😉 When my Granny sister and I met up to babysit the grandtwins while our son and daughter cruised for a week, we used her (baby mom’s) little clunky (damn, I forgot the make, cheap end though) convertible everywhere in Fort Lauderdale. Too much fun for grannies : )

Also, I’ve taken two cruises in my life, take ED on a cruise. I took Special Greg on one, with a Tea Party Group (photos are in one of my FB albums). We had a private balcony room, worth the upgrade x10000, we only did stuff he was interested in or felt up to or was in the “mood” for. TV in the room and free room service food, he was in heaven.

    • swanspirit says:

I hope the stair lift works out, keep us posted!!♥

      Here’s another one ….

    • Mothy67 says:

Pittsburgh is not that bad. There are pockets, but most of the bad areas are the forgotten steel towns around it. The weather prohibits any type of permanent homeless camps. During the day (non rush hours and lunch) there are visible small groups of the addicted, but very little panhandling. They seem to get along well with authorities. Other than asking for a smoke I think they just congregate outside and sip Nikolei vodka. I have never seen anyone piss or shit on the sidewalk. There’s a square (where I saw Hillary) in which they hang out , but they don’t leave messes. Mayor still sucks though and he’s a progressive or wants to be. He went to Penn State. Elites will never like him. His big thing is bikes. Pushes people to commute by bike. He created bike lanes which lead to congestion. Cars idle and create more exhaust for maybe two dozen people on bicycles. November through March there can be snow. It rains a lot. And there are yuuuge hills everywhere. How are you going to commute to work on a bicycle. Sweat, he!met hair. Really in a suit? This sanctuary loving jackass is so proud of himself for his bike lanes.

Ratings for first night of debates are decent. Not Trumpian and not 2015 dim. The article offers several excuses as to why they are not YUUUGE. This is an advertiser site. It’s about the numbers and selling time. It’s usually very business and yet it is written like an opinion piece.

Mayor Pete Reveals Weird Smudge on His Head During Debate Was a Smushed Bug

2020 presidential candidate Mayor Pete Buttigieg guessed that a weird smudge on his forehead during the Democratic debate was probably a bug he squished and didn’t wipe off his head.

    This very much disappoints me

I liked this follow. I moved to New York very young after living in Philly. I was given a great life. AIDS was scary as hell. People were dying in 1991. Like all the time. I got lucky by having been born a freak. I have so many open heart scars and I was raised very Catholic I couldn’t do what other runaways did. I got a scholarships to average schools my way of running away. I didn’t want to educate myself I wanted to be away from myself. I was so naive when I went to Purdue as an engineering student I thought I was going to learn how to drive trains.I My pap (great grandfather) worked on the railroad. My parents were 15 and 19 I did not talk with my family for years once I came out. I saw so many young men get sick and die. I never play the lgbtqlmnopq card about myself but does any person with an IQ over 10 need to be so base. It’s cheap in my eyes.
