Above is a video released by the Kamalatoe campaign. Below is the more accurate version:

    • DeniseVB says:

Looks like Obama’s old bus. Remember the million dollar campaign buses he had made for his re-election, because he was a President or something? I always wondered what happened to them. He justified the expense because they would be used for future Presidents’ security.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

As I recall they were Canadian 🍁 transports so perhaps they are now serving as mobile wardrobes for their current head snowflake ❄️ since it seems he likes to play dress 👗 up.

  3. DeniseVB says:

Not paying much attention to “other” news right now. We’ve got 5+ TCHers “in the cone” 😀

    • taw46 says:

I haven’t paid too much attention to other news for days now. I know too many people who live on the east coast of Florida. Then there are my relatives who live in the Carolinas. And friends there. And the TCHers. I want them all to be safe and leave the areas if need be as Dorian approaches. But I also want their homes and businesses to be safe. ☹️

      • DeniseVB says:

❤ Me too. Looks like Dorian's going to hang a hard right off NC. But won't celebrate till he gets past the FL/SC coasts.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

The current path and strength look as if it will cause havoc along an extended stretch of the south eastern coastline . Keeping tabs on developments and TCHers and their families, friends and neighbors are upper most in my thought and prayers. I will say some of the local news outlets have decided to forego spending too Much time on their parent companies agenda and have focused on our neighbors to the south.

Utility Crews and other support teams have been preparing to leave or have left northern Virginia and Maryland on their way to the interim staging areas to find where they are going to be needed.

    • Miranda says:

I’m mid-state. Hoping to get out of the cone, but sorry for those on the beautiful coast.

    • Somebody says:

The 6pm models suck donkey dicks, and that’s all I have to say about that. However, the bar tender here makes a good long island iced tea😜 BTW anybody know who Chris Young is? I don’t listen to country music, but he’s here at our hotel

    • lyn says:

My sister moved into her condo at Juno Beach yesterday. It’s a mile from the ocean.

      • taw46 says:

She shouldn’t stay, is she planning to? She may change her mind tomorrow, depending on the update from the NHC. That’s what happened here waiting for Irma. Lots of people changed their mind and left that Friday, the last possible escape from here. She also may get frightened enough to leave.

        • lyn says:

On Friday she planned to stay, although she laughed hysterically. I messaged her on FB. I think it’s too late to call her.

          • taw46 says:

Dorian hasn’t started its turn north yet, although NHC says it will. Right now an insanely strong Cat5 hurricane is headed straight for Palm Beach County. It is crawling along, so she still has time to leave.

          • lyn says:

            Thanks for the info.

          • lateblum says:

I hope she changes her mind and leaves. Whatever made her think to buy/live there?

          • lyn says:

She sold her Jupiter condo, moved to St. Augustine and then moved back to the Jupiter area. St. Augustine was too boring for her. The St. Augustine HOA also had a lot of issues, and hadn’t repaired anything after Irma (I think).

          • lateblum says:

I had forgotten she was in FL to start. Well, I hope she stays safe. It’s looking better for FL today.

I’ve never liked Labor Day. I’ve always thought of it as a commie holiday!

    Nevertheless, enjoy it anyway.

  9. DeniseVB says:

Debra Messing is morphing into Alyssa Milano for twitter attention. An0maly sets her straight.

    • Mothy67 says:

The W & G reboot was an epic flop. Very expensive as everyone came back at yuuuge salaries. Tanked in the ratings. Neither McCormack or Messing has had a hit series. Two or three seasons at best. The only place for them to go will be netflix. I wonder how much co-ordination there is between the obamas and these faded stars. milano has a part in an awful sitcom on the streamer. Are these once were’s being encouraged to disrupt in order to get work? It just seems absurd to alienate half the country and as the journalists noted this week people are getting tired of the non stop drama. Not MAGA’s. Winning does not drain me at all. The left is the side trying to keep a raging fire going for three years. That takes a lot of energy.
Also netflix has severe debt issues. They have spent far more than they take in. Lost 330,000 subscribers in North America last quarter. Disney+, HBO, NBC Universal will all launch within the next year. Youtube and Apple are increasing output. Tubi and Crackle are both moving to expand original programming which will continue as free ad supported streamers. Netflix has already lost or will soon lose Friends and Pretty Little Liars. when contracts are up they will lose more.
Seems like the most ass backwards business decision to actively alienate potential customers by playing politics. I had it for years until the obamas and only reup for a month if something like Stranger Things has a new season. I was shocked to see they allowed Chapelle’s show, but they inject politics way too much into programming. Who wants to get be lectured to by the television.

      • DeniseVB says:

I was a big fan of W&G’s original run and excited when they decided to reboot it. Until, Debbie Downer bragged she told the writers to make her a Hillary loving SJW so she was thrilled to be returning. Lost all interest and never watched.

On the other hand, Roseanne made a brilliant reboot, got the SJW “crap” out of the way in the first episode, set viewer records which held up til she was fired for a lame joke. The gal who fired her at ABC is now with Netflix “working” with the Obamas’ “creative” team (gigglesnork). Since then, Roseanne’s been so blacklisted, we never heard her side of the story, even that she’s now on a comedy tour with Andrew Dice Clay, which are selling out.

        Go Roseanne 🙂

        • Mothy67 says:

I think leftists are a special kind of stupid. They greatly overestimate their value and powers of persuasion. I was never going to vote for hillary. No star or facebook campaign could change that. I am not hypnotized by fox news. I disagree with hannity all the time. Wish the right would slow down on abortion. The left got greedy with the obama dims, pushed too hard too fast. Had they gone with hillary and then obummer it would be too late to salvage our country. The courts would all look like the 9th circuit. I am pro life, but it will never be my choice. Think PP is a vile institution so stop the funding and allow states to take the lead. The declaration that life begins at conception has no legal bearing and only (in my humble opinion) serves to galvanize the left. Why couldn’t that statement wait until after 2020?
One of the things that makes me scratch my head is how rich Leonardo Dicaprio and George Clooney are. Leo has not had any monster hits outside of Titanic Clooney does not nor has he ever filled a theater. His biggest hits involved a storm and Sandra Bullock. He sold his tequila company for almost a billion dollars. Huh? A startup brand was worth a billion dollars. They had almost no market share. How is that possible? Seems to me they have been rewarded for carrying a globalist message. Leo is the UN dude for climateThey are stars because the media is defining them as such. Similar to how mike obama is a fashion icon only because elite editors are declaring him as such and they can dupe leftists who are addicted to the cult of personality. Same thing goes with book advances. Did mike really sale that many to warrant the advance it got. Every library in the country is going to stock a former first person’s book. There are 123,000 public libraries and that excludes high schools and colleges. No library buys one copy of a “hot”book. Easy to assume one million books were to institutions. I tried to check out the book. No wait I could get it that day by contrast a few years back I decided to give Twilight a read to see what the hoopla was about ( it’s Wuthering Heights) three week wait.
I find it delicious that so much co-ordination is applied to sell the dim brand, but The Donald blew them away with such simplicity. A bright red hat with an easily remembered slogan. It’s advertising 101. Now they are trying to rebrand a hat. It’s really pathetic.

  10. Dora says:

This is what they are worried about? Give me a break!

How politicians are handling Hurricane Dorian

Reacting to a natural disaster can be a make-or-break moment for a politician. Democratic strategist Tony Cignoli said, “People will always remember how you handled something like this. This goes to legacy.”

Think you’re going to avoid this catastrophe. Is Somebody in JAX?

      • taw46 says:

Yes, the Keys went out of the cone last Friday afternoon. I was just reminding everyone there is more where that came from, after all, it is September. Somebody evacuated last Saturday, I think to the Carolinas.

      • DeniseVB says:

I think Somebody’s already evacuated? I remember DrIquana being on the coast…somewhere between Jax and West Palm but hasn’t checked in yet.

Lola just moved to Charleston and already prepping for an evacuation. Swannie’s in Ocean City and me in Va Beach, further up the “cone of doom”. Dorian only needs to wobble a foot or two before we make definite plans 🙂

        • Mothy67 says:

Last I heard Somebody was kicking back Long Island Iced Teas in a hotel bar.

          • Somebody says:

That was so last night Tim, now I’m kicking back pineapple martinis🤣

We left Saturday, authorities issued mandatory evacuations yesterday everybody out, we figured it was coming so beat the traffic somewhat. Just waiting for Dorian to move her ass out to sea, hopefully without impacting anybody on the east coast

The length to which media enablers will go to downplay devastating IG report about Comey’s mishandling of classified information, in which Comey set a dangerous precedent for the FBI, abused rule of law, violated all norms, and harmed Trump’s civil liberties, is … unsurprising.

      • Mothy67 says:

How do they handle the homeless pop. In Florida during these events? Or the working poor that may not have a few hundred dollars to evacuate? Are they bused out and put up some where safe?

        • taw46 says:

Here in the Keys when Irma was approaching, the county provided buses to take the homeless and others who could not afford to evacuate, to storm shelters in Miami. Irma destroyed many trailers down here where the working poor lived. So those who did not have friends and families to move in with had to move from the Keys. It is extremely expensive to live here.
From what I understand, only the most northern of the Bahama islands were affected. I would imagine their government will move them to other islands.

          • DeniseVB says:

I do think the most effective and successful local/state evacuations are mostly ignored by the media since they want to zone in on the suffering and dead victims. Then blame Trump or someone for the failures. (Katrina/Bush?). Those photos/videos of the Bahamas are heartbreaking, but still waiting for MSM to cover the Disney owned island and abandoning their staffers there? I think they were safe, but horrified.

Speaking of the Keys, our friends were transferred there many years ago and decided to bite the bullet and buy a house rather than live on base. Yes, it was a step up from a trailer park and with a pool. They chose not to use their a/c because the electric bill would exceed their mortgage payment. Happy ending, they survived and the money they made on that little fixer upper are now living comfortably in retirement 🙂

          • taw46 says:

Denise, yes, if people bought a house years ago they could make a killing selling it. It’s hard to find one less than a million in KW. And if it is in Old Town, then we are talking about several million. And most of these houses are small. But so charming, lol. They really are special.

        • Woke Lola says:

In Charleston they have opened 4 large buildings for shelters. One of them is pet-friendly.

          • Somebody says:

Lola how far inland are the shelters? Storm surge is the problem in the Charleston area. It’s called low country for a reason. By all accounts it looks like Dorian will weaken before it gets to you, but it will pushing a lot of water with it. The more inland you can get the better.

          • Woke Lola says:

The closest shelter is in North Charleston. But we have options in Summerville, Columbia, and Aiken, which is by Augusta.

          • Woke Lola says:

I hope you are safe, Somebody!!

  25. Mothy67 says:

American military helicopters and emergency personnel are being sent to The Bahamas risking their lives. I am reminded of DeSouza’s America: Where would the world be without her. What is so wrong with taking pride in our great nation. The country is wealthy and 90% black and yet there go our raycist troops airlifting the injured to American hospitals.

    • taw46 says:

There are over 20 Coast Guard cutters here in Key West, ready to leave as soon as it is safe to do so. And the world criticizes us, but we are always there when people need help. 🇺🇸

      • Mothy67 says:

They disparage our armed forces. Our men and women are always there. Would any athlete or celeb risk life and limb to save another. Those helicopter crews flying in to do emergency transport are heroes. There is still great risk involved.

      • Mothy67 says:

To an extent aren’t they even dependent on our weather services to respond to threats. I think the Bahamas have a 13 billion dollar GDP. I bet our weather services are more than that. All those Island countries and parts of Mexico can rely on early warning systems from the US.

        • taw46 says:

Absolutely. And how often do they thank us? I’m glad we do it, but it does irritate me how they treat/talk about our military. And our government services, like the NHC.

          • Mothy67 says:

Ebola became the US responsibility! No thanks. Zika has more American research money from America than all the effected countries combined. Malaria?

Politics and Hurricanes are forever, we pray and mourn for them both. But our Elliesmom, lost her husband, he passed away today. I’m gut punched, she’s TCH family and I’m sad 😦

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family, Elliesmom.

My sympathy, prayers, and love for Elliesmom. Denise is right, what a gut punch news for our TCH crew. Most, or all of us, have been here for a decade now? This place is my only trusty online extended family. I actually TRUST everybody here. Our hearts are with you Elliesmom.

I was already on heightened emotions this weekend waiting to hear from my daughter & hubby that they had landed safe back in Michigan from their honeymoon in Jamaica. (We had such a good time the week before at their wedding in Jamaica, we got home last weekend.) With the hurricane approaching I was googling for Jamaican weather forecasts the last 2 days they were there. She texted me from Atlanta and Grand Rapids airports late at night knowing I’d be wondering/worrying.

My brother called the next morning upset that our Aunt Shirley on my dad’s side had lost her 2nd husband the day before. He had been talking to him on Facebook a couple of days before that, so this was a sudden loss. And now our beloved Elliesmom is going through the same grief. I hope she can feel the love and support coming from all directions.

  39. elliesmom says:

Good Morning, my dear friends. I’m doing OK. While things progressed more quickly than we expected, in the big picture, that was a good thing, Not days and weeks of pain, but a silent, peaceful death with everyone who loved him by his side- except of course, Crash and me. We had stepped out to get her a quick snack. 🙂 But I had kissed him and told him I loved him before I left in search of a vending machine. I returned in time to see the doctor quietly pronounce his death. To be honest, the family was all there, but his death was so quiet and peaceful, it took a nurse to notice. How can I deny him that peaceful a passing?
Today my BFF of the same 50 years is coming to get me to make the arrangements. We met Elliesdad at the same time. He became my husband and her best friend, too. It’s fitting she and I should do this together. There may be love stories that are more exciting than ours, but none have been truer. I can honestly say there hasn’t been day the two of ever doubted each other, I’ll be having Elliesdad cremated, and his ashes will be saved to be co-mingled with mine at a time I hope is far in the future. He wants to be with me forever, but he was a very patient man. He’ll wait for me.

What you said reminds me of this song:

      🎵“I’ve read somewhere statistics show
The man’s always the first to go
And that makes sense ’cause I know she won’t be ready
So when it finally comes my time
And I get to the other side
I’ll find myself a bench, if they’ve got any
I hope she takes her time, ’cause I don’t mind
      Waitin’ on a woman
Honey, take your time, ’cause I don’t mind
      Waitin’ on a woman”
      🎵

Something weird is going on with WordPress. I can only comment using the (edit) button at the top of another comment. There is no “reply” button anywhere on the post.
I wonder if anyone else is having the same experience.

was having a couple of bad days staying away from everyone. I am fine now and it looks like the storm might not be too bad on the west side of Florida.
      Thank you for caring
