“Freedom Of Speech For Me But Not For Thee” Is Leftist Policy

Imagine if back in 2011 some black cheerleaders held up a banner at a high school football game that said “Obama 2012 Hope & Change” Do you think they would have been reprimanded or punished in any way?

A high school in North Carolina has placed several of their cheerleaders on probation, after they were seen posing with a “Trump 2020” banner.

Controversy arose after members of the cheer squad at North Stanly High School in New London, N.C., posted a pre-game photo of themselves holding a Donald Trump 2020 banner that read, “Trump 2020 Make America Great Again.”

According to the Stanly News & Press the team was celebrating the school’s “American Night” at the football game where students were encouraged to wear red, white, and blue colors to show their patriotism.

The school claimed that when the photo was published online, it made some students feel “uncomfortable.”

The school sanctioned the team and placed them on probation for the remainder of the football season.

“One of the rules we have is that every contest should be conducted in a wholesome, athletic environment,” North Carolina High School Athletic Association Commissioner Que Tucker told the paper. “We take that to mean that it’s in an environment where good sportsmanship is shown, where people feel safe … that respect for all people participating is being shown.”

The paper added that the school punished the girls because “the incident caused concern for many and helped create a negative athletic environment.”

If those students said it made them uncomfortable to share a restroom with a dude in a dress, they would be denounced as bigots. If a high school principal disciplined some students for waving an Obama banner at a school rally he would be lucky to keep his job. Within hours there would be an angry mob of news media camped out in front of his home and his office. His whole family would get doxxed. Lawsuits would be filed seeking an injunction and a buttload of money.

I hope those students aren’t taking this laying down.

A North Carolina school district canceled a football game on Friday ahead of a rally to support cheerleaders put on probation for holding a Trump 2020 banner at a game in late August.

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) said it canceled the game at North Stanly High School because “Stanly County Schools has been notified of additional information that could compromise safety measures our schools have in place for sporting events,” according to the Charlotte Observer.

However, that did not stop the cheerleader’s supporters from continuing with their plans to hold the rally outside the school’s football stadium in New London on Friday.

“There was no threat,” said organizer Jeremy Onitreb during the event. “Nobody’s coming up there to hurt the kids. It’s not what this was about.”

In a Facebook live video on the event page, Onitreb said the school district canceled the game because someone wanted to prohibit the cheerleaders from exercising their right to free speech.

Stanly County Schools has been notified of additional information that could compromise safety measures our schools have in place for sporting events”

Lemmee guess, was Antifa Claus coming to town? Were they threatening to loot and burn New London? Or was this all because some self-important Leftist school administrator wanted to show the kids who’s the boss.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is no joke. If you don’t believe me, just look at Mitt Romney. He has no sense of humor.

I wonder what the deep state gas on Romney? Crooked business deals? Kickbacks? Kinky stuff? It must be something juicy, because he is totally owned.

As for the cheerleaders, here in FL any kind of political campaign activity is prohibited on school property. If NC has no such law and it appears it doesn’t, then I think they should sue the school district. No doubt this is all due to liberal administrators. I seriously doubt there were student complaints unless David Hogg has a cousin in NC🙄

I think the school has a specific policy of no political speech. Of course, I’m sure any Obama signs would have been fine.

Back in the day, mock debates were part of our civics classes during election seasons. I remember Catholic kids were for JFK and Protestants were for Nixon. When JFK won we taunted the Protestants with “Hail Mary Full of Grace the Masons are now in second place”. It was fun.

When I turned it on – out of curiosity – it was at the moment Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel were walking onto the stage. Within the link of an eye, I turned on a rerun of Downton Abbey. And had dinner.

The only recurring headline/sound byte from the Emmys has been Michelle Williams saying something, “women should have whatever they want” something, something 😀

I would still like to see Fosse/Verdon someday, I’m such a fan of that era of Broadway musicals.

I heard that Patricia Arquette – one of my least favorites – said something about her sister’s (recent?) death and then something about trans people shouldn’t have to suffer. Or something like that. It was on the news this morning. But I wasn’t going to watch political speechifying last night. I may be done with awards shows forever.

I hear ya. They’re certainly not entertaining anymore.

I think her trans sister started living as a man again for the last couple of years of his life. Guess she forgot to mention that.

          • lateblum says:

It is so confusing. What I heard her say was that her sister recently died and that she would miss her everyday for the rest of her life. I didn’t know if s/he had been her brother or if her sister *wanted* to be her brother. I guess I don’t read enough.

So let’s sum up the climate/environment based protesting: tons and tons of trash, blocking and shutting down traffic, and freaky sex related displays. Oh, and brainwashing and exploiting kids as part of the effort. You can always count on progs using and exploding children, it’s their go to strategy for all their various and sorted needs it seems. I’m sure all that will get everyone on board.

    • SHV says:

The 22nd amendment should be repealed. The “Framers” evaluated all term length options and decided on 4 years, no limit. No reason to change just because Repubs were pissed off at FDR. Realistically, Bill Clinton, with a 65% end of term approval rating, is the only President, since the 22nd went into effect, who had a good chance at a third term.

am I wrong on this or are we starting down a slippery slope? If he releases the transcript every call can be made to be released. No more privacy or confidential calls when needed .

    • Constance says:

It is a slippery slope. I thought it seemed like he was tempting the media to leak it. I’m sure they already have it and if it were really damaging it would already be leaked.

President Trump continued his legacy of defending religious liberty with a stellar address at the United Nations today. He offered many examples of religious persecution around the globe, stating that 80 percent of the world’s population lives in nations where religious liberty is either restricted or banned altogether.
